problem installing, uninstalling programs

When I try to install a program, 'Gimp 2.8.4' I get "C:\Users\Danny\App. Data\Local\Temp\is-5D4F2.tmp Setup could not create the directory."

When I try to uninstall 'Gimp 2.8.2', I get 'C:\Users\Danny\AppData\Local\Temp\is-TRJ2B.tmp '.

The last link worked for me without any problem.  Not sure why it has not loaded for you or that there was nothing to find.

I'm afraid that's the point of a system recovery.  This document should guide you through the execution of a HP recovery.  Don't forget to backup everything that you want because it will erase the HARD drive and take it out of the box state.

When I use add printer to my laptop, I do very well, until a box opens and indicates that the printer I am trying to add, is already on my laptop, & let me not then add it. My printer work very well on my laptop, when I had Windows XP on my desktop, but since I upgraded to Windows 7, it will not work. Please help me & thank you!

    Hello

    ·        What is the operating system on your laptop Windows Vista or Windows 7)?

    ·        Where is the printer connected (to the desktop or the router)?

Check if the printer is already connected.

If Windows Vista installed on the laptop

    (a) go to control panel

    (b) select the printer and check to see if the printer is already listed. If so try to print a test page and check what is happening.

If Windows 7 is installed on the laptop

    (a) go to devices and printers

    (b) check if the printer is already listed. If so try to print a test page and check what is happening.

  • Having a problem installing a program. Get the BSOD. Can I try to install in safe mode or in execution of the order?

    Hello.

For the product that I use, I posted something on the forum of manufacturers. But I have a few questions here, too. It's for video editing.

I am trying to install a program. He's older, but it does not work with XP (it was pretty well designed for this). He gets by about 75% of the download, says something about the cleaning of the registry, and I get a BSOD.

I have the latest drivers for the motherboard. I can't install the update of the program until it is installed.

Can I try to install a dvd in safe mode or through the run command and perhaps get a better result? Or in the back? How can I do this?

    Thank you.

    It works now.

I have installed directx 10/11 from the dvd - rom of the graphics card. It updated some files. It is XP, and I think that it does only have directx 9. I looked in the term - dxdiag.exe and it says a version 9. Still not working, but has helped.

I installed the drivers from the cards dvd image. Initially, I took this one from microsoft update. The new graphics card driver seems to have caused conflicts. It is installed.

  • Restart the necessary OS after install/uninstall program

Hi good day, I see a problem, please give me a hand with it.

why I need to restart the operating system (such as BONE pop up windows application) after installing or uninstalling a program, which is why sometimes 'sometimes '? instead of making the installation/unstallation every time? Thank you

    Hello Johnny you,

Reset is a must when you try to install or uninstall any program on your computer. The changes take effect only if the computer is restarted. This restart of the computer depends on what program you are installing and UN-installing.

  • Problem of uninstalling program after the restoration of the system

    Hello!

I uninstalled this malicious software (Yantoo) a few days ago, but then I had to do a system restore. Now he is back and is on the list of "programs", but I can't uninstall it because I get an error "the system cannot find the specified file" when I try. I also always see folders of files with the name of malware on it, but I can't delete them either. Apparently, it is not my computer.

So how I completely get rid of it without having to reinstall the software?

    Help much appreciated.

    1. Please uncheck response until the problem is resolved, thanks :)

2 al ' malwarebytes, there is a Tools tab and file assasin used to be there, but you can just type File Assasin in Bing or your search engine of choice and download it from there (malwarebytes.org)

    3. in regedit,

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

You could have just clicked on the wrong sign when regedit opens, there are 5 directories, you want one above HKLM click the plus sign next to hklm, then the sign more software

    Click more next to microsoft

    Click more next to windows

Click more next to the current version

    Click more next to uninstall

so far, you are alone on the left side of the page

Once you get to the first line under uninstall it will look something like this:

    {24ED4D80-8294-11D5-96CD-0040266301AD}

Click on each line and then in the right pane, you will see what kind of program is covered by this line.

Once you find the program, and then in the left pane, you right-click on that line, and choose Delete.

    -----------------------------------------

Another thing you can do in regedit is using find.

go to edit > find > type in Yantoo, everything like that that makes a difference sometimes if it is capitalized or not or if there is a space between the words or not.

then click on find next, a box opens saying looking for registry. It is open to any entry which it concludes with this name.

Search in the left pane, and you can see the folder is open, be careful to not delete the folder, unless it's all Yantoo, maybe it's good to remove the element found by FIND. each find then return to edit, find and do it again until it says finished research through registry.

You can do a search for pc to open search, all files and folders, make sure that the search in hidden folders is checked.

and make sure that the folder options is set to show hidden files and uncheck the two following, saying OK in the pop-up window on the last of those.  (it seems that my pic was not? it's here :))

I put if you need it.

    Hi GeorgeMcWilliam,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. What program are you trying to install on the computer?
    3. You are able to install other programs on the computer?

    Method 1

See the link below and run the fixit tool available, check if it helps.

Diagnose and solve the program installation and uninstallation problems automatically

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    2. Type msconfig , and then click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears.
    3. Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services , and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

  • Problems reinstalling the programs previously installed on an external hard drive.

So we have this 900 GB external hard (called the [re] drive) drive still connected to your computer via the USB port. To save space on the local hard drive (drive C), whenever I had to install a program, I would put all of his stuff on the external hard drive. Now, I know it was a stupid idea because it can completely screw your computer somehow. in any case, after I realized that I should only record the program on the computer files, I deleted all the program files on the external hard drive and planned to resettle them on the local C drive. However, for what I'm trying to install on the C drive, I always get a weird error message, and I'm sure it has to do with already being installed on the ext disk. In addition, the ext drive gets disconnected from time to time, and there wearing always changes. It used to be included in the port of J, but now it's on the port of K. When the ext disk used to contain the program files, it was listed under the J drive. After I tried to reinstall everything, the reader became the K drive because he got more unplugged. I don't know that this has something to do with all these installation errors as well. However, no matter what port I plug the ext drive in, it refuses to change: it won't change k. It's so frustrating! I can not even my printer drivers to reinstall correctly, and I'm having a HUGE problem with reinstalling Java. I tried to work around this problem, since a few months now, and now I'm about to take just a baseball bat to this computer and replace this piece of *. And I've already messed around a bit with the registry editor, and I DID find things listed (as in Java or my OfficeJet printer) in the title of the folder on drive J railways, which of course is not an existing file path, because it changed the drive K. But I'm not sufficiently comfortable with the registry, in order to have the courage to do so much = (in any case, someone has any ideas? And the system restore does not restore points soon enough if it's what you recommend.

    Hi Ron,

What is the exact problem that you are experiencing when trying to reinstall?

Programs must be uninstalled and reinstalled to the correct location.

If the deleted programs are still in the Recycle Bin, you can restore them and change the drive back letter and follow the correct procedure.
