Problem of Microsoft web site (safety scanner), but works in Safari

When I go to the site "https://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx" with the version of ESR or TOR Firefox or Firefox 18.0.8 it gos in a loop where I continually see the rotation icon. He never shows anything on the screen and still continues to show the circle of rotation. But on the same workstation, it works with Safari.

Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

  • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
  • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

Thank you.

August 22, 2011 I just do a fresh install of Windows XP Professional formatting the hard drive. • Cannot access the microsoft Web site using any browser

    Access Web sites

Try all 3 browsers... Chrome IE7 and Mozilla. I can't to any microsoft Web site. No problem to do anything else.

With Chrome... I get OOPS! and an error message. IE7 displays a page similar to AI "browser down" page and just microsoft

    sites.

    Thanks for any info

I can't to any microsoft Web site.

Sounds like a DNS issue.   Use nslookup to check.   Use ping n 1 w 1 to attempt to cache a browser search.  Use ipconfig/displaydns to check if the search is cached.   A problem with many Microsoft research is that they have several alias and have very short life values.   It is very difficult to take any advantage of cached searches.  An alternative is to substitute the search using your HOSTS file, but then the IP addresses of host Microsoft tend to be transitory.  In fact, this point suggests something to check first: make sure that there are no replacement of microsoft in your HOSTS file.   Remove them and do an ipconfig/flushdns, if there is.   ; )

  • After format and install Win XP Home and SP3 why can't open the Microsoft web sites?

    Need help, guys

I had to replace my HARD drive in my computer. I installed my Windows XP Home SP2 disc. After installation, I used my SP3 upgrade drive and my drive to upgrade to IE8. After you install all my drivers, I tried to get Windows dates and discovered that I could not access the Microsoft web sites. I get Internet Explorer cannot display this page. I tried to find out why this is happening and how to correct the situation, but have not found an answer that works yet. Can someone give me an answer to this question.

I have another (used) computer that I formatted the HDD installed and on Windows 7 and have had no problems to access the Microsoft web sites on. It uses the same modem cable like the other computer so I guess that everything is ok with my Internet connection. This problem seems to be only with Windows XP Home SP 3.

Think in advance for any help

Please check that SP3 is installed:
    Start | Run
    Type:

    Press OK.
Also, tell us what you mean by "trying to get Windows dates" since there are two ways to do this!

    Hello

Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

The COA sticker with the product key is either or in the battery compartment on the underside of the laptop.

With a desktop computer, it's on the side, the back or the top of the computer case.

  • Virgins of the Microsoft Web sites

    Hello

Had a problem with www. Microsoft.com/en-gb/ and other Microsoft Web sites.  The pages would empty.  If I saw the source of the page, it showed what appeared to be good code but it wouldn't display.  Tried it on 3 computers and different browsers and finally discovered our firewall was blocking these 2 sites; optimizely.com & webtrends.com.  Additional troubleshooting led me to below errors in firefox debugging:

  • Is it possible to download an image (.iso) of the operating system from the Microsoft Web site?

As I've already bought the computer with the operating system installed on it and apparently I have not received any CD of the OS with it. But I have the ID of the product on the computer... is there a way where I could get a copy .iso of my operating system on the Microsoft Web site?

    Thank you!

On-site upgrades are not well regarded by some contributors of this forum, including me. However if you want to try, I refer you to this link for an iso download...

But before you go this route, I would say as you explore the possibilities to fix the problems you have in other ways. Try to publish or questions about your problem and see what happens. You can save yourself a lot of grief.

  • Cannot correctly display the default Microsoft Web sites text only

Since "redevelopment" of Windows 10, Firefox cannot correctly display web pages of MSDN, Technet, or most other Microsoft Web sites. All I get is text based websites, no visuals at all.
There was once a way to have Firefox Web sites meet and pass off as internet explorer or Chrome... has this capacity disappeared or is it the fault of the web programmers at Microsoft screwing around with their code?

    Found the problem...

EFF privacy Badger blocked MSDN. I reported to EFF the problem, please help everyone in this.

I received an e-mail from 'e' of what appears to be a microsoft Web site, they tell me my site will be closed down if I don't provide them with certain information, including the password etc, grammar seems somewhat imperfect, something on the network running slow and they (you) will have to clean (check) accounts This note was sent, I ignored the original e-mail from 'e' weeks but just received a notice/final warning that if I don't answer to my account will be closed to the down and out, it's from Microsoft. Some things you can try:

You can have old certificates root on your computer.  Try to update your root certificates from the link provided in the paragraph "Root Update Package (intended for Windows XP only)" in the following article:

"Members of the certificate program root Windows.

It is also possible that indeed, you will be redirected to a false site.  Check your file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts ensure that there is not a bogus entry for your hotmail login.  Generally, the only line that is required in this file does not begin with a character ' # ' is ' 127.0.0.1 localhost '.
