Problem of Windows 7 HP Pavilion dv7 - 2173cl

I have recently upgraded to windows vista home premium to windows 7 Home premium via my disks to upgrade to windows 7 HP last night. Overall I have no complaints, but especially my computers portable keyboard is a bunch of sensitive contact with movie controls, volume control, etc.. The problem lies in the volume sensitive touch power button. My volume turned on and working, but the light power volume is red, indicating that the volume is disabled when even my volumes and fully functional... any help to solve this inconvenience would be greatly appreciated.

Try to uninstall the previously installed one and then try to install this:

FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp45001-45500/sp45058.exe

Also, try to uninstall the drivers from the sound card in Device Manager and reboot the device.

  • Touchpad problems with Windows Vista, HP Pavilion dv7

For some time now, I had problems using the touchpad on my HP Pavilion dv7-1260 mobile.  When I press the left button of the mouse, I have the menu that is displayed when you press the right button of the mouse.  I changed the settings on a million times and I reinstalled the drivers, but nothing seems to work.  Maybe I need to change touchpad sensitivy or something, but I don't know how to do it on Windows Vista.

    Hello

Looks like there is a problem with the hardware with the TouchPad so check with the help of HP, their online
documentation and drivers and ask questions in the forums about isseu known with this model.

Parameters for TouchPad located in the control panel - mouse (there may be several tabs with TouchPad entered)
and some come with a utility that loads in the Notification area next to the clock in the bottom right.

    ==========================================

If necessary: (make sure that you have restarted at least once, if the above did not work)

Panel of configuration manager devices - mouse and pointing devices - Double click on the touchpad - the driver tab-
Click on update driver (it comes may not do anything like MS is far behind the drivers of certification), now right CLICK
    on the TouchPad and UNINSTALL.

Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in). RESET

This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB. This does not prevent the touchpad from working.

The similar procedure on XP, Windows 7 and Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.

Then go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest touchpad drivers.

Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

    I hope this helps.

  • Bluetooth on laptop HP Pavilion dv7 - 2173cl

I can't make this work with my Droid Razr Maxx or bluetooth wireless speaker even if there are icons in the devices and Printers dialog box with small yellow triangles on them.  Since I've owned this laptop, I have not been able to use bluetooth.   I have a 2009 HP Pavilion dv7 - 2173cl Entertainment Notebook PC that is running windows 7 all updates. Device Manager indicates that there is a bluetooth module that I uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I'm starting to think that the module is faulty.

It seems that the device is a brand HP bluetooth module.  However, the information that I can find says that it is powered by a Broadcom driver.

This notebook originally came with Windows 8?

Try this driver and I would like to know if it has an effect on your question.

    Have a nice afternoon!

Of course, I tried to reformat, it goes from chkdsk, here are a few screenshots:

  • Fingerprint reader - Windows 8 - HP Pavilion DV7 connects not

Have searched high and low for a solution to my problem to scan fingerprint - tried instructions on many site without solution.

    Please help-

    I have a HP DV7-6c27cl (Pavilion) - purchased 11/2012.

Updated from 8 to 64-bit Windows to purchase and fingerprint scanner quit job with TrueVision HD webcam.  HP driver update for webcam works perfectly - running.

Software HP SimplePass is responsible for the current 5.20.233a (DigitalPersona) version.

East went to HP and downloaded the new driver (SP58834) for the fingerprint reader.  We sought their updates using the specific model of this laptop and he gave me this driver up-to-date with.  Software starts but no joy on the drive...

Simple pass still said "the fingerprint reader is not connected.  "Connect to the reader."

Earlier today when trying a number of different patches I had a tap of biometrics in my device manager and another in the Panel... on one of my attempts to find a solution, I deleted these.  Is gone now.

Don't know what to do from here.  It doesn't seem to be any solution on the Web Digital Persona site either.

  • Problem reinstalling Windows 7 on Pavilion dm1 netbook with software HP-published records

Hello, I have a Pavilion dm1 that require a clean installation of the Windows 7 operating system due to a keylogger problem that could not be defeated.  After backing up my system, I used DBAN Boot and Nuke to zero to HD.  I tried to reinstall the OS with the published HP recovery disks.  Everything seems to load fine until I got to the screen showing "Windows Setup".  There is a small pop-up screen indicating "Windows is now set the following...". "The 'installing the software preparation" has a check mark next to it, and the order of the day on the "Software Installation" list is highlighted. I then get an another pop up screen indicating "You must restart your computer to apply these changes", but the touchpad does not work where I can still get the pointer to appear to make a choice.  The system hangs just upward at this stage.  Any recommendations would be appreciated.  Thank you.

How do you lond it hang before you finished it?

HP recovery restarts on its own (several times) you shouldn't have to do anything and it is recommended that you do not use the keyboard or a touch pad during the recovery process, it can be a process hours several retrieving records. Be sure the wireless is turned on when you start the recovery process.

  • problem installing Windows on HP Pavilion m 8070uk

Hi I have a HP Pavilion m 8070uk with windows vista home premium, service Pack2, 32 bit, when I try to install a new program I get (the windows can not access the service install) my computer came with windows pre-installed vista, any help would be much appreciated, please note that I am no computer expert. Thank you, kev.

First check if it is available in the services. Go to the start menu and type services.msc. If she is not there, chances are it also went in the registry. You will then use another computer with the same Windows Vista to get the file.

On the other computer Windows Vista:

    1. go to start and type regedit and press to enter.

    2. in the registry editor, navigate to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\msiserver. Right-click on the msiserver and then choose on export and then save it. It will be saved as a .reg file

    3. move the file using a reader flash or any other removable media to your computer.

    On your computer:

    1. double-click on the file.

    2. click on Yes to the next prompt.

    3. try to reinstall.

  • Problem with memory on HP Pavilion dv7-4052sg!

Hi Sir, here I have a problem with my HP laptop.

I don't know what happened, but after restarting my laptop my memories do not work together.

I have test the two memories function in both slots. I try to change them in the slots and they are fine.

BUT as soon as I put them together my windows won't run, its all black screen on start and nothing is moving. I don't know what to do.

I'm having 2x2gb pc3 - 10600 s. I was thinking maybe to buy only a 4 GB and put into a slot? who can solve my problem?

I would appreciate if you can suggest me what to do?

    Best account.

    MR. C.

There is the possibility that one of the memory module SIMM slots is bad or damaged. That's the downside of the notebooks.

Use a 4GB module in a slot up to 4 GB of memory installed from using two slots does not seem to be a viable option.

  • problem connecting push2tv3000 with HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC QD977UA #ABA

Bought the ptv3000 and the widi recognizes the adapter and I can put in the security code, however when I click on connect the widi tv window will specify the connection to the device display wireless for a few moments and then window widi intel says "it has not detected adapters. Click the button below to perform a new analysis.  The ptv3000 reappears and goes through the stage of connection again but does not connect.

I have updated with the latest drivers intel WiDi and the ptv3000 of netgear for the latest firmware but still will not connect.

If someone knows the question I would be very happy because I think it would be a very good product if it works, unfortunately, netgear did not much help

If it works when the firewall is disabled, not when the firewall is turned on, then I recommend contacting the firewall provider.  I recommend you contact the firewall vendor as each firewall is different in some way, and I'm not too familiar with this brand.

  • Update the Bios to F1 problem. C the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook (QJ785AV #ABA) running Win7 (64)

To try to resolve some problems, that I pointed out, HP (by e-mail) Technical Support told me to update my bios and provided a link to do this. Utility Wizard help indicated 1F. B has been installed; the description accompanying the linked file is 1F.C.

I downloaded the file, closed other programs, then run the file using administrator mode. After a few moments, the PC restarted. When I checked then the theaters help, there still reported that 1F. B has been installed. I ran the executable file again and seen on screen for messages. There is no error message. The system restarted, however the Assistant to help still reports it as 1F.B.

I don't know if it's important but: Although this update of the Bios on the support page of the HP web site for my computer model, it does not appear as an action item when executing Tune Up from HP.

Should what steps I take in order to successfully install the newer version of the Bios?

[Since this is an obvious question, let me say: I have reported what happened to the HP support (by e-mail).] In their next response, there was no follow-up on this point. In my next response, I asked specifically this update failure, but their response has completely ignored the problem.]

This is the link of BIOS that you use correct: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-115758-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=5171043&sw_lang=

If so, try the device, then execution of the BIOS updated new cyclical food.  Cycle of power, just remove the battery and the AC adapter / CC and let rest for a minute, then reinsert the battery and the AC adapter / CC and turn on.

  • Pavilion dv7-4190us: dv7-4190us works Windows 10 ethernet and wifi Broadcom 4313GM does not

Installed Windows 10 on Pavilion dv7-4190us.  Now, the Ethernet card provides Internet access and Broadcom 4313GN Date 27/05/2013 Version 6.30.223.99 will not access Internet via wifi. (It worked with Windows 8.1.) I did find a suggestion from HP. I'm looking for a suggestion to the user on how to get the Broadcom 4313GN for wifi on Windows 10 operation.

Angrist response to my issue shows a pilot Boardcom 5... level. I decided to lower my driver PC Boardcom 6... level 5... level. HP provides the dv7-4190us, a wifi Boardcom to the 5.60.350.11 network driver level. This network driver is provided to the customer support HP - software and Driver Downloads to the file the name sp49541.exe for the dv7-4190us. I installed this update, rebooted, disconnected from the ethernet and the wifi worked.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 not recognizing their 'new' capacity of 750 GB HARD drive.

    I have a model of HP Pavilion dv7 - 2173cl with:

    1. Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 CPU processor.
    2. Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit (factory installed Vista update) OS.
    3. 2048 MB is memory.

'SMART' HARD drive imminent failure message received:

    1. Original disc installed HARD is a 500 GB Western Digital model WD5000DBEVT.
    2. SMART two weeks' ago error messages indicating imminent failure of HDD appeared.
    3. A check of the HP Web site checked the error number corresponds to "imminent HARD drive failure.
    4. The message prompted me to 'save' the HARD drive.
    5. I completed a backup of files and an image via the "Backup and Restore" feature backup of Windows 7.
    6. The backup has been to an external Seagate 1 TB USB connected external HARD disk
    7. In addition, I created a 'Windows 7 64 bit system repair disc' using the backup and restore of Windows 7 feature.

    Replacement HARD drive:

    1. I bought a 750 GB (7200 RPM) Western Digital model WD75000BPKX.
    2. When formatting the HARD disk (via the CD of 'Windows 7 64 bit system repair disc') replacement I observed the formatting of the process that the size of the disc HARD has been reported that 500 GB (compared to the actual size of 750 GB).
    3. With the help of the rollback on the CD "repair" feature I restored it (backup on external USB connected HDD image) image.
    4. Later, I check the 'properties' from the 'device' (the new HDD of 750 GB and observed that Windows 7 also pointed out this new HARD drive as a 500 GB drive (compared to a 750 GB drive).

    Site HP Web search:

    1. A search in the Web of HP SP5575, referred to as software download site and 'run' to identify a 'Advanced Format hard drive.
    2. A downloaded execution of and run this software has given rise to the audit that the 'new' Western Digital model WD75000BPKX is an 'Advanced Format Hard Drive.
    3. The site also shows to support a 'Advanced Format hard drive' the "device driver" must be at least version 9.6.01014 Rev: has (the current version is 6.1.7600.16385).
    4. The SP50624 Web site, referred to as software to download and 'run' to update the disk device driver (found in Control Panel/Device Manager/disk drives/Driver/updated updated driver for Windows 7).
    5. I have downloaded and run SP50624 and as a guest 'Update Driver' selected in the Control Panel/Device Manager/disk/disk driver and also "indicated the location where the new driver after 'running' SP50624.
    6. Windows has responded with "the driver is up to date" and selected version 6.1.7600.16385 driver (i.e., would not version 9.6.01014 Rev: A).
    7. The software (e.g., Windows) running on the 'new' unacceptable short slow disk. It is a symptom commonly identified when a disk with 'Advanced Format' works without the drivers appropriate and formatting.

    Issues and options:

    1. Is there a solution that will allow the model of HP Pavilion dv7 - 2173cl to use this 'new HARD drive (a compatible disc HARD driver update that will install or another available solution that will accommodate a HARD drive to Format advanced such as the 750 GB (7200 RPM) Western Digital model WD75000BPKX)?
    2. Or is my only solution regarding the HP Pavilion model dv7 - 2173 cl to buy a 500 GB HDD without 'Advanced Format '?
    3. And finally buy a vintage/new laptop today.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    Problem solved.

I solved the problem as follows:

    1. I chose to reload Windows 7 from "scratch" after your positive validation of this approach.
    2. This required me to reload all applications (for example, Microsoft Office).
    3. Note: A reload of the OS and Applications from "scratch" requires access to the "Product Key".
    4. During the initial charging of Windows 7 and the formatting of the 'new' drive Windows 7 provided the possibility to remove the partitions (remove/reorder) that had been affected by the recovery process 'attempt' described above. With the help of this function I eliminated the partitions and 'Add' the "unallocated" space to the overall capacity of 750 GB HARD drive.
    5. After reloading the OS, I checked via 'Properties' that all of the 750Go were present and available - success.

    Thank you for your support.
