Problem recovery Tech Support Mode Status in vsphere 4.1

Hi, when you run the following on an ESXi4.0 host it retrieves the State of whether or not the tech support mode is enabled.  When I run the same command against a crowd of vsphere 4.1 is not.  < Get - VMHostAdvancedConfiguration - VMkernel.Boot.techSupportMode name > command

Is there a way to pull out if the tech support mode is enabled on a host esxi 4.1?

Thank you

Tech Support mode now works as two services - local TSM and TSM remotely (SSH).

You can query remote TSM by the following:

 Get-VMhostService -VMhost $VMhost | where {$_.Key -eq "TSM-SSH"}

Local TSM is has a key of 'TSM '.

    It is not collected in the current version (vFoglight 6.6). It can be done with customization, creating a script agent who runs a PowerCLI script for example and fill the results in a dashboard.

    I will pass this along feature request to product management to add the collection of Lockdown modes / Tech Support out of the box and also have an alert for it.

    The above-mentioned tech support person was a test account, he did and has spent a lot of time doing stuff with all permissions to the adobe files. Finally he got it so at least to launch illustrator, then immediately crash. He just left without a job too shortly after.

    Caps folder contains the database as Cache.db, media, db, pdb.db file that contains information about the installation of applications on the system and other essential data, in some cases if the files are corrupt, it is essential to remove the record of caps.

    Once you remove the record of caps, CC app will list Apps with button install because there is no information concerning the installation of the CC apps because the Media.db file will be deleted with it.

    In this case, it is preferable that you uninstall applications that is not listed as up to Date and being listed with button install, even if it is already installed.

  • TrackPoint and Touchpad stops working after recovery from sleep mode

    Every now and then when my thinkpad edge 11 out of the previous day. The pointer doesn't move. It makes no difference if I use the trackpoint or touchpad. In this case I have to restart the computer using the keyboard and then pointing devices up and running again. No one knows how to fix this? The problem does not occur every time during the recovery from sleep mode, but sometimes it does.

    Hey won1,.

    uninstall the current driver for touchpad/trackpoint for your device.

    Windows should then install its own generic drivers. now with generic drivers install, place your unit in standby mode and then resume.

    see if the same error occurs. in the meantime, go to > http://support.lenovo.com and update your drivers in the bios unit.
