  • Problem with USB HP webcam?

    Hello

I help my client use video with Acrobat Connect Pro. She is the only person on our team, who cannot make his webcam works when you have an Acrobat Connect Pro meeting.

She has a Thinkpad with Windows. There is also a Webcam in HP 2100 that plugs into the USB port of his Thinkpad without a built-in webcam. I install the latest version of Adobe Flash player.

When we are in a meeting, she begins her webcam, click on actions, and all we see is a black screen where the video should be. She says that the camera works with Skype and other applications of video type. I have him close all applications that may use the video camera, while we use Connect. Still no dice.

Is there a list of things we should do to try to debug this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

I took a quick glance at the plug so that the camera on the HP site and see that it supports DVD/VGA quality which is what Adobe Connect (Flash) expects to see. However, I don't see that it can produce the video "up to 30 frames per second.

Acrobat Connect Pro (Flash 9) cannot accept that webcams of quality DVD (640 x 480) up to 20 frames per second. This setting is controlled by the host of a meeting room in room preferences.

I suspect that the user has not changed the camera settings to be 20 fps. If they are out at 30 frames per second, then a black box would occur because it is "too high" for Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro (Flash).

I see in the HP documentation: "click on the drop-down list resolution below the icons in the upper right corner, and then select the resolution to use for recording setting.» The default setting is VGA, which provides optimal performance in most environments. »

While Adobe does not specify, recommend or test webcams, we work with any webcam that supports PC/Mac to the 640 x 480 and height of 20 fps.

  • Satellite C650 problem with USB ports

    Hello

I have a problem with my laptop, with my USB ports.

A few days ago, I plugged my mp3 to charge its battery. I did when system Windows began and after a few ports seconds has stopped working. They work for one to five minutes after starting my computer, but only after my laptop's turn off for a few hours at night for example.

They work fine and all of a sudden we hear the sound of a disconnected device and usb ports turns off. I tried many solutions but nothing worked. I removed all the USB ports in Device Manager.

I checked in the BIOS, but everything seems to be okay. I tried to disable the disconnection of usb ports to save energy, nothing. Tools that have been provided by Toshiba to check hardware see as usb ports work correctly. Only usbdview program sees as unknown device, I tried to uninstall it through this program but still nothing.

You have an idea, what could happen? Or if there is no possibility to fix without service visit?
    I would appreciate your help.

    Hello

Have you tested these ports USB plug a USB mouse or a USB keyboard?
    These devices work properly?

I don t think you need a visit to the service.
I think that it s just a software problem
Given that the USB ports are controlled by the chipset, I would recommend reinstalling/updating the chipset driver

The alternative is a bit drastic, I think about the recovery of the laptop...
It might be possible that the registry has been confused upward or some 3rd party software preinstalled on the laptop could affect the USB ports.

I remember that my USB ports do not work after installing iTunes.
I had to reinstall the operating system once more to get the USB port work even more funny is that I installed iTunes once more and USB worked correctly

But when I connect my USB drive (Transcend JF V30 / 4Gb, JetFlashTS4GJFV30) I have not even USB option in my Menu of Boot (http://i021.radikal.ru/1202/67/6bae3812f88c.jpg)

    Have problem in my USB?
If so, could you please tell, what are the usb key properties must work properly, so that I could do the usb startup key.

P.S.: on the first time 1 TB of HDD and USB connected photo (also connected SAMSUNG HD501LJ 500 GB), the second peak connected the USB _only_

    Hello

To my knowledge, it there has not of special requirements to the USB flash key, a common USB should be recognized correctly as boot device.

Of course, it might be possible that there is a problem with your USB key
On the other hand, it might be possible that your USB drive is not formatted correctly.

I think you need to format the Flash DRIVE to FAT32 standard and need to make it bootable.
If this does not help, try another USB flash memory.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A660: how to record videos with USB webcam?

I recently bought a Satellite A660, which has a built-in webcam. Using the Toshiba provided video application I can record videos, but I find the clarity and brightness of the rather poor image, even in good lighting.

I have a USB webcam that I plugged in and tested for example in Skype, and he produces images much better under the same conditions. My question is: How can I know Toshiba video application to use instead of the built-in USB webcam? I can't find any settings where I can choose which camera to use.

If this is not possible, do I need to install other video recording software? Windows 7 does not have all the applications where you can simply record a video from a webcam (I thought Windows Move Maker to do that, but apparently not).

I just want to be able to record videos of my USB webcam - any suggestions on the best way to proceed would be welcome.

    Thank you

    Howard

Put I don't think something like this is possible. Pre-installed Camera Assistant Software is obviously designed to work with the built in cam only.
What you need is a third party software that you can use for this application.

Google around a bit and visit a few video forums where you can pick up some info on it.

  • Satellite L870: Problem with USB to serial interface with FTDI chipset

    Hi all

bought a L870 year last to run software amateur radio via USB to the serial interface.
    Interface uses the FTDI chipset.

The problem I have is that the switch on the led on the interface flashes green to red several times to indicate that it works, but then must remain on green but task on every minute she goes through the same process again.

All the controls on the drivers and the Manager of devices indicates that everything is ok. No problem with interface on computers laptops happens or advent.

Is there anything on the Toshiba laurys usb ports every minute.

Thanking you in advance for any ideas

First of all, I must say that there are different models of L870 Satellite on the market supporting different hardware and software. Some are preinstalled with 8 and some Win with Win 7.

In addition the L870 supports USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 standard.
If you recommend to check the different USB ports and check if your software works correctly with the USB 3.0 standard.

  • Problems with USB 3.0

    Hello people!

I'm here with a need for help to solve a problem that I recently got after reinstalling my windows 7.

The problem is with USB 3.0 driver, which does not react to any device I plug on two of the ports, and they are not dead I checked that. I tried to re - install USB 3.0 drivers as well and downloaded from HP site for my model, the latest version has failed so I tried with the other older and did not work as well. Only my two USB 2.0 ports work.

I don't know if there are any other versions or drivers that I could use, those for my model don't work for some reason, and this is the first time I did re-installation of windows for that.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me solve this problem!

The laptop model is HP Pavilion dv7 - 6113cl

    Kind regards

  • Problems with USB devices in Windows XP Mode on Windows 7 Pro

I have a Palm Zire 21 that I use with ACT! Contact Manager to keep track of my appointments.  I was able to sync the Palm with my ACT database until this week. The device appears on the list of USB devices, but does not connect to Windows XP mode.

I used this device in XP Mode since August without any problem.  Last week, I started having problems with the integration of XP features and had to uninstall and reinstall the integration features a few times.  I think I have a corrupted somewhere driver.

    Any help would be appreciated.

No need to comment unless you have more insight.

I solved the problem myself.  In XP mode, I went to the Device Manager and scroll down to USB controllers.  A virtualization USB bus drivers showed a problem.   I uninstalled this device and then managed to reinstall my Palm correctly after connecting it to the USB port, and then going back to the menu at the top of the XP USB mode screen and hit connect when I saw my camera.  The device connected in XP automatically and I was off to the races.
