Problems scanning w/HP Deskjet F4140 Windows 7

Hello everyone.  In early November, I have switched my operating system to Windows 7 since Vista.  After the switch, I downloaded the driver for the HP Deskjet F4140 for Windows 7 32-bit operating system.  Now, when I scan documents, the resulting image is often just a small fraction of the document I'm scanning.  I will analyze the same image several times without adjusting in the scanner, and the resulting image will be different every time.  The scanner has worked with Vista, the latter always analyzed the entire picture that I wanted to, and now it is essentially unusable because the images it produces are worthless.  I really liked having a scanner, and if someone could help me on how to correct this problem, I would greatly appreciate.  I tried to uninstall the driver, it redownloading and put it back, still 2 other times now, and still, I need to solve my problem.  Thank you for your time and effort. -JSR

Hello again.  I wanted to just as everyone else I have solved my problem.  You can scan images through the Paint program, and in this way to make product image, just like before.  I found this out on

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01884960: 10 & lc = en & dlc = & cc = us & lang = & product = 3235310

which is a HP support page, I'm so happy that they had provided such information.  I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but if so, I hope that my solution will work for you as well. -JSR

    Hi Igivein,

    Welcome to the HP forums!

I must say, I certainly agree with you! The language that has been developed to refer to the technology has become a bit much, so I certainly understand where you are coming, and I'll try to keep my instructions in a straight line forward as I can

The scan for the Deskjet 2540 software has the ability to analysis of a file, then open it in paint for you, but you can open any file of photo that sweep you the paint. If you were to scan an image as a JPEG (an image file) and save it, you can then open Paint, go to open and then open the image that you scanned only, to modify it or do whatever you want with it.

You can also use the Paint program to scan the image into the computer. If you open Paint, click on file (or the small Menu button, depending on the version you have - I've included a screen shot below that my description of this button leaves something to be desired ) then from scanner or camera and follow along to use Paint to scan the photo instead of the HP software.

I hope this helps, please let me know how things are going for you!

  • problem scanning with HP Deskjet 3071 e-ALLin a series

I just set up this printer on my Mac (OS X). When I try to scan, it analyzes only a quarter of a page. I can't anywhere that you can change the settings. Seems to be connected ok, prints ok.

OK, so using the scan on the printer button, the application that should open on your Mac, it is HP Scan (you can check by looking at the high bar (the bold text on the left side of the Apple).

Try running the software analysis and not the product to see if you get different results. Go to \Applications\Hewlett-Packard\HP Scan and perform the analysis from here.

If it's the same result, try some of the following methods:

1 - Open system, Print & Fax Preferences. Click the Try analysis analysis tab.

2 - Open Preview (in the applications folder). Click on the file--> import from a Scanner (you may need to first click "Include network devices" in this menu and then return to pick your product).

Please post your results of the methods above (HP Scan, Print & Fax, and preview).

    Thank you!

  • DeskJet F4140: Printer prints wrong colors after updating windows 10

    Hi all

This is my first post here on the forums and it's a doozy.

I've updated my laptop last night from 8.1 to win to win 10.  Power seems to work well except my Deskjet F4140 printer. It prints, but the colors are false.  bruises are red, red green, green are "purple", made for an interestng very a first impression. I did all the usual stuff, troubleshooting, test the page clean and align the heads. Uninstall and reinstall to make sure it was getting the windows 10 driver, but alas my problem remains. I tried to find a way to change the mode of compataibility and can't find my file .exe for the printer. I know it's and older printer, but it works like a top and I'd hate to have to replace it because of this problem.

    TLR

update to win 10 and colors are off like hell.

    Thank you

    Robbie

Finally fixed my printer not through HP. What I had to do is access the so-called Godmode on windows 10. It allows to access all the parameters of the user as well hidden and non-hidden in one place. I went down to my printer and changed its functioning as windows 8.1 and it works as it should. You should be able to learn more about the Google's God mode command line script. Thank you and good night.

  • Using network Deskjet 722C Windows 7 problem

I have a 722C connected to a machine under WinXP SP3, this printer has been shared with another WinXP machine for several years.  I recently bought a HP laptop running Windows 7 Home Edition (64-bit), to which I am trying to add the shared printer.  After much trial and error, I have the Windows 7 set up machine to use the printer shared through the WinXP machine.  However, when I try to print, even the basic test page, nothing prints.  On the Windows 7 machine, the print job appears in the queue for the printer and the message print managed.  On the Windows XP-based computer, the work appears in the queue for a brief moment and then disappears, no error message, but without actually printing.  There is no activity on the printer itself.

I started to study this problem with Microsoft technical support, but the comments, I thought it's a driver problem with the HP Deskjet 722C (actually using the 720C driver).  Is there a known issue with the driver on the 64-bit Windows 7 OS?  Is there a solution?  My printer still works as expected with other machines on the network, but the impression of the laptop is dead in the water, and after hours of effort.  Any help would be appreciated.

There's a patch here which solves the problem of the spooler crashing into the 64-bit Vista or Windows 7.

  • Error scanning WIA for Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060

    I can't scan with a Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060.

HP Print and Scan doctor said that the error is the Windows WIA. It says HP TWain scanning and other tests are fine, not that I know how to do a TWAIN scan with it.

Reading another post, I can confirm that "detecting hardware Kernel ', 'Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)' and 'RPC Remote Procedure Call ()' is running in automatic mode in the services list.

My printer reacts to an application to scan and seems likely to be an analysis sometimes, but the software seems to act as if it receives nothing back from the scanner?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled all the drivers twice without success.

Looks like the HP scanners cannot handle all USB connectors. Odd.

  • Problem scan pro 8600

I have a 8600 pr Premium printer. I also had a new ASUS 2 in 1 laptop. She has 10 pre-installed windows and office 2007 also. Here's the question. When I try to scan from the printer as was done with the old laptop, it is said "analysis to the computer to enter the computer to allow him to."  I can put the documents in the scanner bed and make the analysis away from the computer, but not directly with the machine. How can I get the two recognize each other. If it makes a difference, computer and printer are connected wirelessly on the infinite network of comcast.

I've installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled the software already. I installed also print and scan of doctor and who says there is no problem scanning. I installed the HP Solutions Center and it won't work as it says that the installation is not complete. And he tells me to reinsert the cd and reinstall (the cd is for xp and 7 and does not work.

    I don't know what else to do... H E L P!

    Hello!

If you can print wireless, go to the next step. If this isn't the case, please advise.

On the desktop of your PC, you should see an icon for the printer (with the name of your printer below). It's the HP print driver you have installed. Double click it and Printer Wizard should appear. There is an option called it 'manage Scan to Computer' , click it, and then select Enable.

Let me know if this helped.

  • Problem printing with HP Deskjet 5150

Hello, I have a problem with my HP Deskjet 5150 color inkjet printer. A few months ago, I noticed that all the documents I want to print are printed with the left margin of the page wider than the right margin; Instead, both margins have the same width. This question concerns the documents in general, and not of documents printed with a specific software only.
All computers that use the printer have Windows 7 as operating system. I tried to install the drivers of online support for the transition from Windows Vista to Windows 7, but the problem remains.

    What can I do?

    Thank you.

    Hi andrewshort94,

    Thank you very much!

With this, it is certainly a problem with the hardware of the printer, and because all computers are Windows 7, there is no HP software to try other things.

You need a Windows XP computer to install this printer to be able to access the HP Toolbox to perform alignment and things of this nature, as it was the last operating system supported the full features software. If you do not have access to a Windows XP computer, I might suggest that you start looking in getting another printer. You can call the HP Technical Support and inquire about trade and commerce program to see what kind of offers they have for you

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

I tried to completely uninstall the printer and drivers by the management of printing, but when I reinstall I'm still not able to see the scan option.

I found this fix, but it is not helpful at all.  I am very few clear on how to run the solution. What is the air cleaner and where do you get?

Well, I have solved the problem by forcing a sweep of windows & scan fax.  I found this as a work-around and I just try the scanner then, and it worked.  For now, the question has corrected itself, if all goes well it stays this way!
