Programs running within the VM player

Hello

I installed VM Player on my computer with Windows 7 so that I can run software that is compatible with Windows XP.  I have successfully gone through the installation process and my virtual machine seems to work as expected.  Now, I need to get the software running in the VM player.  How can I do this?  I save the exe on the virtual machine, and then install it there?  Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thank you

Eric

Installing the software on a Virtual Machine is no different then install on a Virtual Machine if just do.

It seems that you have tried a number of bugs so far without success. Here are some suggestions of what I'm going to try:

I would also check the updates for your video card driver. Find the latest Windows Vista drivers for your specific computer model with the support site for your computer manufacturer. Be sure to get the right drivers for your specific version of Windows Vista, for example, 32-bit or 64-bit.

If your mouse is a USB model, it can be useful to check the latest drivers for your motherboard (chipset) Vista to the support site for the manufacturer of the computer. Also, since you're here you can check for the other updated drivers for your system, i.e., audio, LAN (network), etc.

If you have the graphics card Intel integrated, you can check on the website below:

If you have a dedicated graphics card, you will need to check with the card manufacturer, the two most often used are linked below:

  • Program runs in the hidden administrator account, but not the administrator account

I have been using Altium Designer for about 5 months. One day, I tried Eun and got the error "dxp.exe has stopped working.  So, after trying a re-boot.  I have reinstalled the software.  At the end of installation, I get the message "the system administrator has set policies that prevent this facility." The installation then said that the installation has been completed successfully. I tried: unlock all files in the installation directory, run the installation as an administrator, the installation running on the hidden administrator account. Turn off UAC.

The installation leaves me with a program which runs in hidden administrator but not nromal administrator.  Even if the install ation was made as normal anministrator.

I am running Windows 7 Home premium, so the control of local security is not available.

Thank you for your help ITKnowledge24.  Your post helped me to find parts of the program that I would never know that existed.

It turns out that my problem was in two parts.  First what killed the software is primarily a print unrelated dirver.  (go figure)  Installation errors were caused because I downloaded the version recient most of the manufacturer's Web site.  When I reinstalled using the old version, the installation was without error.  The software starts to run correctly when the printer driver has been removed.  It seems that windows security was only a Kipper.

  • A program running in the background of my sequence

In a first time to run a program in the background of my Teststand sequence, I'm trying to accomplish the very well detailed procedure that follows to run asynchronously a VI (my future intention is to call my a VI program which is running in parallel during the Teststand sequence).

    https://decibel.NI.com/content/docs/doc-21743

I think that I followed every step, however my implementation was a significant failure: 'Asynchronous VI' does not close even if the concerned Boolean parameter is set to "true" and should be read by this VI...

I guess I'm missing something obvious... But the fact is that really miss me! Can someone show me my mistake please?

    Thank you in advance!

Attached you will find my sequence and VI.

    Hello

    (1) for your use case, you update the globals (stationglobals.ini) TestStand and VI reading station which should be fine.

When the two try to update/write to-it will be a problem.

    (2) - I noticed that it is still impossible to read the outputs of the vi running in asynchronous mode in the main sequence: even when I write the result in a variable StationGlobals, it does'nt change throughout the sequence

The globals station is a physical file (stationglobals.ini) which must be committed (saved) after updating the variable file in VI.

TestStand also has to reload the stationglobals.

    Check this box:

    https://forums.NI.com/T5/NI-TestStand/writing-to-TestStand-station-Globals-from-LabVIEW/TD-p/3064530

    I hope this helps.

  • Microsoft programs that run in the background on my computer

Microsoft are programs running in the background on my computer and it makes my computer slow opening and navigation in the programs. I went into msconfig and in respect of the services, I check the box "hide microsoft programs" then apply. My computer operated by more quickly and efficiently. Howerer, a few hours later the "hide" checkbox unchecks and my computer starts to be slow and do the same thing all over again. How to hide permanently microsoft programs so that this computer slow is not the case?          I already have the diagnosis of 'memory', and the memory of the computer is fine.

Hello Ballvk, click hide all Microsoft Services is not neutralize them and they still work at startup. What you need to do is to disable services that are not of use to you.

Click Start and type services.msc in the search box to open the Services associated with your computer. See what services to run and that you do not. To see a list of default services visit http://www.speedyvista.com/services.php.
Check also for other programs to start in The Configuration utility (msconfig) system.
  • Should what programs I run at the beginning?

I'm just trying to improve the performance of my computer, but I don't want to stop to run at startup, which should run at startup.

First, note that the stop something start automatically when
you start peut improve your performance, but it may not. More likely
It will improve takes how long to start, but then have little or no
    effect on performance after that.
Second, note that if you want a program runs all the time, it
makes no difference to performance, it starts automatically or
start you manually once the initialization is complete. As a unique example of
I want my e-mail all the time running program, I have start
automatically. Performance is no different now then it was back when I
    used to run it manually.

Note also that you should be concerned of all the programs that start
automatically, not only those who enter in the system tray. Not
all programs start manifesting by an icon in the status bar.

You do not have absolutely need anything be it start automatically. Almost
Everyone must have its security programs from
automatically - antivirus, anti-spyware (if you have one), and
Firewall. Almost all the rest is up to you.

On each program, you don't want to automatically start, check its
Options to see if he has the choice of not start (make sure you)
Indeed choose not to run, not just a "don't show icon.
Optional). Many can easily and better be arrested like that. If that is not
work, run MSCONFIG from the start. Run the line, and then click the Startup tab.
Uncheck the programs that you do not want to automatically start.

However, if I were you, I wouldn't do it just for the application of
the minimum number of running programs. Despite what many people say
You should be concerned, not with the way that a lot of these programs
you run, but who. Some of them can degrade performance severely, but
others have no effect on performance.

Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. What you need to do
is to determine what each program is, what its value is up to you which
the performance cost is its running all the time. You can try
Internet search and ask questions about the details here.

Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed
decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.

    Hi salima Bardet,.

    1. When did you start to question?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

You can consult the following Microsoft KB article and run the fix to resolve the problem:

When you run an .exe on a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7 computer file, the file may start another program

  • For loop runs with the value of N unwired

In this case will be a loop run connected to the loop N worthless? I have seen a few examples of the loop for run without a certain number of times set to be ran wired or for example a size of table or something like that.

    PauldePaor wrote:

Here's a program I am and as you can see the image that the program runs without the loop N being wired. The program will run without problem

As everyone else has said, you don't have to plug something on N.  If you wire up a table for loop for input "auto-index", the loop for will run automatically the smaller table size.

    Perhaps an example will help:

This makes a loop on my table size (in this case, long of 5 elements).  On the edge of the loop for which resembles [] brackets, indicates that it is auto-indexé.  The loop should go through each item one at a time (1, then 2, then 3, then 4, then 5).
