• PXI-8184 Altitude Limitations?

  I just noticed on page A-2 of the PXI-8184 manual altitude operating environment is limited to 2000 m @ 25 C room temperature (6561 ft @ 77 F). This is strictly due to the reduction of efficiency of cooling by convection in an atmosphere that is less dense? I'm curious because I will operate my system to 9,000 feet for a few weeks...

  Hi Michael,

  The reason that your device is listed with a maximum altitude of 2000 m is because it's the UL certification official test level we've been through. Unfortunately this means that we cannot recommend the use of the card above 2000 m. I looked into it a bit further and this limitation is not only due to cooling, but also because of concerns about

  Dielectric breakdown possible issues that can lead to dangerous risks, which means that the capacitors in the system may not work properly at altitude.

• Unable to configure the address IP 8184 PXI

  Hello

  I can not configure the IP address of a PXI 1031 with a controller 8184. I followed all the steps in the manuals to help but after that assignment of an IP address, when I restart the controller the following message is displayed:

  mounting: mounting/dev/hda1 on/home/ftp/c failed: invalid argument

  Enter safe mode

  The 0.0.0.0 IP address

  The hard drive has two WinXP and LabView real-time installed, but the second switch of hardware on the 8184 is enabled, then the controller boots with LabView RT in Mode without failure (as indicated on page 2-13 of the PXI-8184 user manual)

  Does anyone know how to fix this?

  Apparently, the issue is resolved. I formatted the hard drive of the PXI-8184 (with the FAT file format) and after reboot, I was able to 'paste' an IP address. Subsequently, I installed all the software of motion, that I need and in real time of NEITHER.

  Yes, PXI was ordered with dual boot. It is amazing that NEITHER offer the dual boot with a file system that does not allow for dual boot! Moreover, as I could see, there is not a single line on the manual in the PXI-8184 allerting or help files to this problem! This should be corrected... I spent a week trying to fix this! If it wasn't for your help, I always don't seek an answer.

• Fastest way to pass the baton on RT PXI-2564?

  I'm trying to pass the baton on a map of relay PXI-2564 on a PXI-8184 LVRT running. I'm running a host vi on my laptop that is networked variable Boolean such as True = False and closed = open. The way I do now the vi devours 64% of my processor PXI load. Is there a better way to do it?

  There is a break-in associated with writing to a relay.  I suggest to convert your table relay switched from Boolean to a list of ascii to relay that you want to open, and another list ascii of the relay you want to close.  You should also check if the relay has already been ordered to open (or close).  Then simply send this list to a single instance of "open relays" vi or the "close" relay vi.  If you are minimizing the amount of communication to Dev 2.

• How to use NI 9264 and NI 9205 with NI PXI-7813R and cRIO-9151

  I am currently working on an application in time real NI PXI-7813R (map FPGA) and NI PXI-8184 (on-board controller). They are all in an NI PXI-1031 chassis.

  I need to generate/receive analog signals.

  I already managed to use the SCB-68 with my NI PXI-7813R (FPGA card) to process digital signals. (Slot 0)

  Connector 1 and 3 of my FPGA I have respectively cRIO-9151 with NI 9264 for analog and cRIO-9151 output with NI 9205 for the analog input.

  • with NI 9264, I have on every 16 outputs-10, 5V (!) Isn't it supposed to be between-10 and 10V?), whether or not the vi runs. (But not when my PXI turned...)
  • with the NI 9205 module, I always get-32767 when the VI is running, regardless of pressure I apply. (I tested AI0 and AL10)

  Maybe is my hardware not configured properly? I did the configuration automatically, when I started the project, Labview detected the devices connected.

  Unfortunately, MAX does not seem to be useful because inputs and outputs are on the FPGA...

  Any idea?

  Back with the solution...

  My modules came! Each of them has been plugged in the wrong cRIO-9151.

  This must occur after the first configuration.

  I noticed when I right click on my fpga device > RIO Device Setup. I wanted to check the devices again, but crashed for Labview.

  I could also have seen 'Connector [number]' (automatically added by Labview) and the removal of material number (9205 or 9264) in the project and check if it really was what I had.

  Hope that my mistake will help someone in the future...

  Please advice me can use digital Pixie-4 (from manufacturer of XIA) spectrometer with MXI link if I know that there is a special software for LabVIEW 8.5 kit?      This kit has been tested only on 8174 embedded plc and without having tested with MXI link.

  I heard somewhere, if the software package supports LabVIEW 8.5 then MXI link will also work.

  How works MXI is that he essentially developed bus PCI/PCIe to your PC to allow additional devices working on it.   For PXI (or any embedded controller OR) several executables in time real developed in LabVIEW (.rtexe files) can work simultaneously?

  I'm almost certain that the answer is 'No', because the whole point of a RTOS is the code to be "as deterministic as possible", with the Jig and schedule reduced by removing items (such as "interference of the BONE") out of control or understanding of the developer.

  Pouvez, however, write a single RT executable that loads into two routines that work "in parallel".  If you have a multi core processor, you could book separate processors for two routines that should improve their independence from each other.

  We met a slightly different variant of this issue during the migration of code LabVIEW 7 to a LabVIEW Project "oriented" development (introduced in LabVIEW 8.x).  We used to have several different programs of LabVIEW RT who has used a code different on the PXI - when we ran the host executable, it loaded and run the appropriate code of RT (recorded in a .llb).  This works well with executable RT.

  What we developed was a system where we have recorded each RT executable as a routine named separately ( not Startup.rtexe) and set them (initially) to run as a startup.  When the host code runs, it queries the PXI for the name of the startup routine, and if it is not 'just', change us it on the PXI and make the PXI to restart.

  [In fact, don't really do us this way, that 99% of the time, we always run the same executable RT.  What we did do was to write a separate "define RT Startup" routine that we almost never executed, unless we "know" we run an earlier version or something like that.  This, in turn, tells us that the PXI is configured to run and what executable RT can be defined as startup, then makes the changes, restarts the PXI and exit.  The 'rule' is that if you change the executable RT, don't forget to change the back when you're done.]

  Problem Description :Hardware: PXI-8184 (chassis PXI-1042), PXI-6221 (slot 2 in chassis)Software: LV RT 8.5.1, DAQmx 8.7.1 (see MAX.jpg)Problem: Task does not function within program (CounterRead.jpg). I can run the task within MAX (MAX.jpg) while the program is running and I can see the counts. All other tasks work fine. I have eliminated everything else in myprogram except this task and it still doesn't function and I get no errors. Also tried putting the task directly in the main program to no avail. I've tried different types for the task (raw, Counter Dbl 1Samp, etc).Thanks.

  It was a mistake to boot! An event of default would erase the name of task... it's the same for another sub - VI for other tasks so I'm not that. But it works now that I've totally simplified the Subvi. Two other people have worked on it in front of me (newbees) so I have a lot of cleaning up to do.

  Thanks for all the answers and sorry it was something so simple. It took me a while to get back into the swing of debugging stuff RT.

• The controller is restarted PXI of MAX has stopped working

  I have a PXi-8196 controller in which regularly need to be restarted (will post another message on this subject).  For the last 8 months, I was able to restart using MAX from the link to remote systems.  Last week, this method no longer works.  The controller is taken offline, but MAX is unable to reconnect.   I have to physically power the controller cycle.  (The controller has a configured static IP address).

  Anyone have any ideas on what could be the root cause of the problem?

  You have a monitor connected to your NI PXI-8196? If so, when you want to restart your MAX controller, which the monitor is displayed during startup? Everything doesn't start correctly? It acquires its assigned IP address?

• Corrupt junk folder

  It's happened several times, but I've never managed to get this properly resolved. I hope that it is a problem that can be fixed in a next version of Thunderbird.

  My junk mail is set so that junk e-mail for all my accounts (a dozen) is sent to a single junk folder in local folders. It of like that for 5 years and its working fine, but last week, although that emails are marked as spam, they stay in their Inbox folders.

  The junk e-mail folder is showing a few messages, but it is 3.5 mb in size. If I fix it (right click, properties, repair, etc.) a series of messages appear in the folder, all not marked as junk. I can remove compact all, folder, but it still shows as 3, 5 MB. If I fix it again, these messages return.

  It's a real pain having to manually delete these messages, and click on them in the inboxes, there is a chance that I can invoke a virus as well.

  Is there a way to correct the junk e-mail folder, other than restart the pc (to stop the folder used) and delete it?

  Any ideas what could be the cause of this occur and reproduce?

  next time (and there will be probably) save a copy of the cause of the junk e-mail folder, if it's that small I get you email it to me so I can have a look at what corruption is exactly. My hope. Identify a cause the traces in corruption.

• Unified junk folder don't show Yahoo mail even when added manually

  I put folders for unified. This shows the single folder of junk mail with the name of accounts as its subfolders.

  The list in the left pane is a bit like this:
  Junk
  -GMAccount1
  -GMAccount2

  All accounts are IMAP accounts.

  I also have Yahoo IMAP account where the Junk folder is designated as mass mailings.

  Default thunderbird does not believe in junk e-mail, so what I do is:
  (1) right-click on the unified junk e-mail folder and go to properties
  (2) the title of "Select records to search" I manually add the mail folder in bulk for Yahoo accounts.

  After adding, I expect that the inscription on the left side would become:

  Junk
  -GMAccount1
  -GMAccount2
  -YahooAccountName

  But it does not show YahooAccount as a subfolder. (Even after you restart thunderbird)

  But surprisingly, when I click on the unified junk of top-level folder, then it shows emails in "Bulk Mail" in the right pane.

  Which means there's a minor display bug that does not display the folders included in the unified folder.

  Please let me know if there are good solution or please fix the bug.

  I found a solution:

  Goto YahooAccount properties
  Junk mail settings
  Destination and retention
  Check the movement new unwanted messages to:
  Other: Bulk mail on YahooAccount
  Restart thunderbird

  This average thunderbird knows it of the junk mail folder, then starts it displays under folder "unified Junk."

  This solves the problem, but I guess this shouldn't be necessary.

  Any account mentioned in "Select records to search" (in the properties of the unified folder - as mentioned above), should appear under this "unified record."

• How can I create a filter to remove only "junk" from the server?

  One of my email accounts is an important customer. I manage their online customer service. Normally our protocol must always leave all messages on the server, so that one Thunderbird account, I never put delete messages on the server.

  But the account has recently started a lot of unwanted messages. Thunderbird is doing a remarkable job to those tagging and placing them in the folder junk e-mail for this account. I would like to create a filter that could remove them from the server, preferably more than "x" days old so I could monitor activity to ensure that no important messages are removed.

  I noticed that in "Filters" I can create a custom header of my choice filter, but am unable to create what I want which is:
  -After the mail is marked as junk by Thunderbird to delete messages from the server, if they are older than "X" days (my choice of 'X').
  -not to delete all messages in the server for this account

  Try:

  • Right-click the junk e-mail folder and select "Properties".
  • Click on ' retention policy tab
  • He chooses to "use my account settings."
  • Uncheck this option for other options.
  • Select: for example: delete messages more than x days.
  • Click OK to save the changes.
  • Close and then restart Thunderbird

• When you use unified folders, the high-level junk folder indicates a number of 350, although there may be no spam in any of the accounts. How can I erase this number?

  You can try to rebuild the Junk folder: select Help/Troubleshooting Information, show the folder to open the profile folder in Explorer, TB of output, look for the files Junk and Junk.msf (mbox file) and index file, rename them or move them out of the profile folder, restart TB and see if a junk clean folder is created after you mark the first message as spam :

• Internal keyboard and mouse do not randomly respond time forcing me to restart my laptop 15 times until it works again

  1. sometimes this feedback haptic on the mouse is not triggered, leaving me by clicking on the mouse, while feeling against nature - something that is not supposed to happen

  2. after I close my laptop / closing of the lid/Eve (do not turn it off) the keyboard and the mouse literally don't work - it forces me to restart my laptop several times (sometimes around 15, take me 5-10 minutes just to get my laptop to work)

  Additional details:

  -J' tested a USB keyboard and mouse with my laptop and it works perfectly, even when the internal don't - maybe it's a hardware problem?

  -I went to the apple store a few weeks ago and spoke to someone at the "Genius Bar," which really helped at all - he told me I have to restart my laptop every time I open and I should do another user account - although I was skeptical about the logic used to arrive at these "solutions" I tried them anyway , here we are with the same problem - also, I don't have to close my laptop down 15 times every time I want to use, it's ridiculous, and that's why I bought a mac rather than a pc.

  -I'm not running any software/battery intensive programs on my laptop - especially just the word and the Google Chrome, which is not a lot

  Two other things can keep your Mac to be properly adjusted:
