I had the version 10.2.0 * and I tried to update phone, then I tried to update to link to BB, but it says I have the latest version, but I know that's not everytime.   Hello. I use a Q5 and recently received a notification of a software update required 10.3.1.1779. The download process and the installation went well. The problem is when my unit wants to restart.   Well, RIM develops upgrades of the OS, your mobile operator "put out there" for you to upgrade.

  And there are many warnings rich to do upgrades of the OS without first accomplishing your own backup device independent... but this is not serious now.

  1. Anywho, do... go into Options > device > Applications, search AppWorld on your list and IF it is, delete it.
  2. Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.
  3. Now, use your browser to go to the www.blackberry.com/appworld and download/install AppWorld again.

  I synchronize my "BOLD" between 2 computers both running Desktop manager 4.7 but they say that the bold is software update required before each synchronization.   My opinion is: don t touch a system running unless you are talking about an update to security... but MS recommends the update, so you can do the update, but it is at your own risk... as far as I know, Toshiba do support the software they offer with unit... not necessarily MS Update.
  In this case, you can try to run the update. If something goes wrong, you can roll back the OS with Restore tool.
