Qosmio G-series dying video card

I have a G35-AV650, the American model of the first HD - DVD equipped Qosmio. I think that my video card is dead. When Vista starts, there is much corruption view - vertical blue bars against Vista boot logo. The functions of the laptop perfectly by using the standard VGA generic driver but any attempt to install any results of the nVidia Driver in instant bluescreens. It was working fine; then one morning, it started.

Any options? I wanted to try the decommissioning of the BIOS of the current 3.60 (no reason why, just to try), but older versions are not counted.

I have a quote for motherboard replacement - higher than the cost of new laptops with much higher specifications!

So, I can be stuck.

Anyone know if it is possible to install the generic Vista VGA driver supporting 1920 x 1200? At least then I can continue to use the laptop for office productivity applications, until I find a new laptop. The generic driver supports up to 1600 x 1200, which fits well on the big screen, so I use 1280 x 800.

It seems to be a hardware problem and the defective part needs to be replaced
I put t see any other solution to communicate with ASP.

  • Qosmio X 305 - Q705 video card replacement

I need to replace my video card on a Qosmio X 305 - Q705. Wondered if he had interchangeable cards or upgraded for this. The part number is it now K000064080. I would be able to transfer the heatsink of the exsiting card to the new.

This unit is not used for heavy gaming, so the card might even be a gradient as.

If anyone knows if I can do this, or what would be exchange for part numbers, I'd greatly appreciate some guidance.

Generally Exchange GPU or upgrade is not supported, and with this you are on your own. Each hardware platform as a specific design and it is designed for working properly in general so I don't think it is the good idea to do some experiments with incompatible parts.

If there is a possibility to exchange the GPU do it with the same model.

  • Bad video card - last ditch effort

    Hello

I'm 99% sure this is my video card that is causing this problem.

Started a few days ago the screen filled with red pixels randomly, it could get worse over the next few minutes, and then the computer was completely insensitive - had stopped the clock and the mouse does not work yet.  I was able to ssh from my laptop, but cannot open applications and reboot via ssh wouldn't work, had to hard - reboot.  After having let it sit for awhile, it seemed better, I was hoping it was a stroke of luck.  Just right tonight (a few days since the accident of 1), he began acting again... bad.  I tried to run the Apple Hardware Test, he could not even done that - she's blocked (at the forefront in the screenshot), the mouse still worked, but even after half an hour, neither the time nor progress bar update.

I have a NVIDIA Quadro graphics card, I'm not sure that is because apparently they only give information on the card itself.  I know that it was very expensive.  Tomorrow I'll try cleaning all the contacts on the map and the location of the motherboard.  Beyond that, all I can think to do is to buy a new video card.  Is it possible to fix a video card, or is it simply not feasible?  I can also try to put it in another location, to see if that solves (which would indicate that the problem is on the motherboard, rather than the map, but I doubt that will solve it).

I removed the video card all together, the system is not is more locked up (so far), I am able to use via my MacBook screen sharing, and everything seems good function... which pretty much confirms for me, it's the video card (or slot) that's the problem.

Does anyone have suggestions until I leave shell $500 on a new video card?  This expenditure could not have come at a worse time...

I don't think I need anything too serious for a video card, I use Final Cut Pro.  I installed also just Apple Motion (literally, one day before all this crap started to happen, it seems strange that it could be related, but the time is quite a coincidence), and I join with two dual-link DVI ports.  I'd be curious to know if anyone has recommendations what video card to buy.

Thanks in advance for any advice or thoughts.

  • What is the best video card for h8 1280t? Because it does not support 700s GTX :(

I bought a GTX 770 and found HP does not update the bios to take account of the series of video card. TOTALLY LAME. In any case, what IS the best card video, the MB - t supported? (Pegatron ECA2) I have a 550 2 GB GTX OC now so I would like to move to something that is clearly visible to make it useful. Thank you.

    Hello

HP released a list of HP OEM video cards that will work in the h8 - 1280t.  Look at these specifications.

The HP h8-1280 is since over 2 years and I don't expect HP to post additional updates.

If you are having problems with the graphics card no - HP OEM then ask the manufacturer of the video card for redress.

  • 18 Alienware video card problems

Since an update which took place yesterday for video cards for my 18 Alienware, the screen displays a digitized and yellowish halo around everything. It seems to be signs of a dying video card. I tried to go back to a previous graphics driver, that does nothing to help. I tried to do a system restore under Windows, which also has nothing. I did you are? test (kept pressed "D", while under tension) and the color scheme correctly. When it is plugged into my TV via the HDMI port, the TV picture is normal. In addition, this laptop has dual Nvidia 765Ms, and if I have them in SLI mode or mono-GPU has no effect on the problem. It's frustrating, because this laptop is only a few months old. Any suggestions?

Send me a PM with your service number a brief description of the problem so I can help you.

    The Q

What about the AEP is necessary for a replacement and it s a really good news that your warranty is valid.

  • Qosmio G20 - how to find an update for the video card?

    Hey,.

To be honest I don t understand your problem. Why visit nVidia?

All you can download it from the download page of European driver from Toshiba as a boarder suggested. I even checked this and for Qosmio G20 and Windows XP you can get all the drivers no problem at all! :)

  • Number of the video card on Qosmio G30

About 2 years ago, I bought my Qosmio of Germany with 3,500 Euro and first problem occur about 1 month when I start playing games.
Laptop is equipped with the nv 7600 gt video card mobile.

Problem with vertical lines on the start screen. It's a hardware problem, if you get that do not try to Flash your bios or something as there is also no work after these lines, the next step is u get b.s.o.d. (blue screen) in the future the Qosmio doesn't start until you disable the vga driver of the map (7600 gt) in windows (safe mode) with standard graphics card and you can work without 7600 gt mobile as long as you do not have to play games or to run 3D programs.

Fortunately, I was in warranty and ASP has changed the whole motherboard (it is the only solution because the video card and the motherboard), it is very expensive if you are not in the warranty. (About $700-900)

After I got my Qosmio warranty return, about 5 days ago (today it is April 30, 2008) I started to play a simulator flight and after 10-15 minutes, I get blue screen again. My laptop has rebooted automatically and still same vertical lines and scratches on my screen and same bsod (blue screen).

It's ok for me because I still have 2 months warranty, but my question is what should I do if this occurs after my warranty on.

    null

As far as I know each new replaced part is covered by warranty for about 6 months.

If something will go wrong during the first 6 months, then you could ask ASP for replacement which would be covered by the guarantee.

  • Qosmio G30-141: Question on the use of an external video card

    Hello world!

Is - anyone know something about external video for toshiba card notes? Like Asus XG Station, Village Tronic ViDock Gfx Pro or AMILO GraphicBooster.

Will be toshiba develop & manufacture a similar device like them? My rating is Qosmio F30-141 & I want to play the GRID, GTA IV, NFS Shift in high resolution with all the spec.effects.

Now I play GRID on the resolution 640 x 480 & medium quality). Nice game IMHO.

PS PS3 & XBOX360? No reason to buy them for my 2-3 cheaper than the console games.

    Hello

I doubt that the external video card could provide enough power to play these games
You can connect these via the USB port video cards and I think that the USB port cannot transfer this huge amount of data that would be needed to play games with all the details
In addition, the graphics card upgrade is not possible on laptops

I have a desktop PC and laptop. I always use the desktop PC for games.
The components are easy to update and I can build a game machine clean with the best GPU, motherboard, and processor.

    See you soon

Yes. Here are the references for the best AMD HP and nVidia cards offered by HP:

    1-GB card graphic-ATI Radeon HD 6450 only for 3400/3405 models 638132-001

    Your repair manuals

I looked up a couple of them on the site of parts HP and HP stupid request money for them, so my advice is to get a similar card in a store like Frys or Best Buy or online from amazon.com or newegg.com:

    Something like this:

  • Series 2000 dv4: thinking that there is a video card problem

the laptop I have is a series of 2000 dv4

    VM301UA

I noticed that when I'm on facebook, or something in which the video card must be used, my laptop start to overheat! in which it will overheat until the fans are strong running and finally cut!

is there some sort of update or something that could be done in this sense?

    Hi @andrewtiw,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv4 - 2048 ca Notebook PC and questions with warming. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings that may resolve the problem.

Here is a link to overheating . If the laptop has dust on the fans, it could be overheating.

If this does not help at the end of this document it tells you to do a test equipment. It will check any concerns with your hardware on the laptop.

I would like to know how this happens.

    Thank you.

  • Qosmio X 875-how do to clean the dust from the fan video card?

Laptop turned off permanently during video conversion.

We see that the fan on the video card is dirty.

Has begun to dismantle unscrewed all the screws on the rear panel. Cover with a keyboard a little inappropriate, but what keeps it loops around the screen.

Maybe you first need to remove the keyboard, but tell me please?

    + Message has been translated.

I n t have this model of laptop, but, generally speaking, the disassembly procedure is always the same. You must remove the battery, Ram optical drive, HDD, on the underside and then you must remove the keyboard to access all the screws under the keyboard.

To remove the keyboard, you must insert your finger in high cover hold left and corner of keyboard to push, so let keyboard corner appears. After doing this, you must release the locks on the keyboard cover. Locks are placed in the background, on the right side and there are a few front locks. While the keyboard is disconnect the keyboard cable.

I must also say that, in my view, is not the best idea to disassemble this fairly new machine without maintenance manuals. One small mistake and you can damage something. Maybe you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can own professional for you.
