Qosmio G30-176: Question of TV tunner - fuzzy without all the sounds

I of seychelles and we use a system similar to that of the United Kingdom Pal, but I can not set the TV Tuner.
He released still fuzzy with no sound.
Can someone please help?

Hello

As far as I know that the TV Tuner is specific to the country in which the notebook is purchased.
This is evident in the case of the PAL (European standard) versus NTSC (North American standard), but also includes deviations to the PAL standard that can be found in all of these countries that use it for their television shows.

The Microsoft Windows Edition Media Center operating system is only configured for use in the country in which the laptop was purchased.
This configuration corresponds to functions such as obtaining the electronic Program Guide through the Internet.

Eventually the PAL system is similar to the one United Kingdom, but it is NOT the same.
This cold be a reason for TV channels scrambled without noise.

  • Qosmio G30-176: BSOD when installing Windows Vista Edition full

I have my wisdom(??!!) I bought a Toshiba Qosmio g30-176 with preinstalled Windows XP MCE 2005. The plan was to install Windows Vista Ultimate on drive D: (do the dual machine boot XP & Vista). I've updated the BIOS today on the Toshiba site and I ran Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor.

I started the upgrade of Vista (custom) and installed the Toshiba RAID drive C: Qosmio (driver C:\toolscd\raid) driver. Installation starts copying the files from the Vista installation disc. This completes OK.

The upgrade then continues to "unpack"(?) ". files - part way through this restarting of the o/s.
To restart the Qosmio stop with the blue screen of death and the "SESSION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILED" message "STOP: 0x0000006f (0xC000009D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).

    What is the error?
What should I do to fix it?
    Thanks - Alan E

No, the graphics card can not be upgraded

What you can do, it is memory and the upgrade of the HARD drive. This should be very easy and should cause no serious problems.

    Upgrading CPU is little tricky.

  • Qosmio G30-141: Question on the use of an external video card

    Hello world!

Is - anyone know something about external video for toshiba card notes? Like Asus XG Station, Village Tronic ViDock Gfx Pro or AMILO GraphicBooster.

Will be toshiba develop & manufacture a similar device like them? My rating is Qosmio F30-141 & I want to play the GRID, GTA IV, NFS Shift in high resolution with all the spec.effects.

Now I play GRID on the resolution 640 x 480 & medium quality). Nice game IMHO.

PS PS3 & XBOX360? No reason to buy them for my 2-3 cheaper than the console games.

    Hello

I doubt that the external video card could provide enough power to play these games
You can connect these via the USB port video cards and I think that the USB port cannot transfer this huge amount of data that would be needed to play games with all the details
In addition, the graphics card upgrade is not possible on laptops

I have a desktop PC and laptop. I always use the desktop PC for games.
The components are easy to update and I can build a game machine clean with the best GPU, motherboard, and processor.

    See you soon

  • Qosmio G30 PQG31E - no driver XP 32? Cannot update the BIOS?

As usual, obtained a computer laptop, but no recovery CD :(

Got 32 installed XP (my Microsoft contract does not MCE) but a lot of missing drivers. Driver Toshiba page has all the drivers for XP MCE, XP 32 has only BIOS update, Bluetooth, HD - DVD firmwares, the virtual sound and drivers WI - FI!

So I tought "Vista on this issue", but I checked the compatibility XP with Vista DVD I got a 'need to update the BIOS' (always a 1.40-2006/03/10)!
My problem is that BIOS update always returns "this computer is not supported! Laptop has only one account, this isn't permissions problem, perhaps because many drivers are not present? Can I update the BIOS in safe mode?

What now? Am stuck with a brick of Qosmio? Without controllers LAN to say the least, I can't not fact! Drivers XP MCE does work on XP 32?

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

I found all the Win XP drivers for Qosmio G30 PQG31E!
On the European driver Toshiba page, you can find the Win XP MCE drivers
XP MCE drivers are the same drivers for Win XP Home or Pro.

There are also some BIOS 3, 90-WIN and this BIOS is operating system independent. In other words, it works with Win XP and Vista...

To update the BIOS the common Module must be installed
You can find also on the European driver Toshiba page!

  • Qosmio G30-176 - DVD player will not play

The dvd player won't play or even say that there is a disc please help

    Hi Paul

Your message is very short and you don t provide all the details, but I will try to provide the answer to a problem.
First of all, this looks like a hardware problem. I mean the lens of the drive cannot calibrate in the right position and would have problems.
In this case the player would not be able to manage different CDs or DVDs.

But first, you should try this
Access to the registry and try to remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After this withdrawal, restart the computer.

I read that this accelerated procedure to solve the different CD/DVD drive problem.

But if you will not be successful then a hardware problem is possible and only a replacement of drives could help.

  • Qosmio G30 - BIOS need to be updated for Windows 7

    Hey,.

I am trying to install win7 (not beta) on Qosmio G30 (PQG32E with HD-DVD).
I begin the installation, and copying the files on the hard drive. Then the computer restarts for installation.
But every time you start ends in a blue screen with the error: stop 0x0000007E. The text of the blue screen is not little say on an update of the BIOS. But there is no latest BIOS available on the Toshiba site. BIOS 3.90 is installed. There is no other is available.

XP and Vista runs without problem.

    BIOS with a standard configuration.

    Concerning
    File

    Hello

I don't see any question in your message, but you probably want to know if Toshiba will offer BIOS updates. I am sure that nobody here can give you a definitive answer but, in my opinion, Qosmio G30 will be not supported with Win7.

The first series of Qosmio G30 is delivered with WXP MCE and later with Vista. Thus, this model of laptop is quite old. I watched how Toshiba treated with old laptops when Vista was on the market again and not over a year of two laptops have been supported. So I think with Win7 will be the same story. All laptops, not more than one year one or one and a half not will be not supported for Win7.
I think in the future that Toshiba does not update the BIOS designed for Win7.

Of course, I wish wrong me about this, but the future will show whether or not it is just my opinion.

    In any case, good luck.

  • Qosmio G30-201 - info from the manufacturer losted

I have a Qosmio G30-201, which I had to re - install all software. I couldn't find my recovery that DVD so had to start with a copy of windows xp mce and then download all the drivers etc from Toshiba. However, a number of things is specific to a Toshiba computer and point out that this is not a Toshiba machine.

When I try the Toshiba software he says that there is no information of manufacturers.
Is there anyway to solve this?

    Hello

    All this works quite simple.
In the lower corner of your laptop you will find Toshiba label with model number of the laptop.
There, you will see that your Qosmio belongs to the Group PQG32E.
So, if you need to download all the stuff for your model mobile phone go directly to Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and choose your model of laptop, short model number and operating system to the right and you will find everything you need.

If it is available to download Installation instructions document before starting with the installation of Toshiba stuff and follow this order of installation.

If you have any other questions please let us know.

    Hello

    I have a Qosmio G30

  • BSOD appears on Qosmio G30 during the recovery procedure

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G30 and I want to format it and return to the out-of-the-box state...
Unfortunately came with the laptop recovery CD doesn't seem to work...

Whenever I try to boot from the DVD, it says "windows is loading files" and once this is done, it shows me the so-called "blue screen of death"...
Is it possible that I can get another CD or make this work?

Or remove RAID protection or anything that prevents me to install a fresh Windows VistaMD?

    Hello

Of course, it of possible to order a new recovery CD, but I doubt that this problem could be related to a faulty recovery CD. But this is only my personal opinion and everything is possible.

You have a clean Windows operating system?
If so, try to boot from your original Windows CD and try to reinstall the operating system.

The Qosmio G30 laptop supports RAID and you need to include the RAID driver by pressing the F6 key during the Windows Setup process.
I think it would be useful to know if an installation of the OS to another CD is possible.

Second question; have you changed the RAID settings in the BIOS?

  • Cannot set passwords to disk for Qosmio G30

I tried in vain to find documentation on how to do it-using the method F2 to enter the bios options never works, I tried to use config assist / utility password and cannot find any option. I updated the bios to 1.70

Does anyone know how to access the bios to activate the hard disk password feature?

If you don't see this option, I assume that it is simply not available. Sorry, but I don t have any other explanation. Verification of user manuals is there anything in password disk HARD on Qosmio G30. Did you also check?

By the way: I'm not 100% sure but I think that HARD drive password protection is only on professional available Portege and Tecra laptop computer, not on a portable multimedia Qosmio series.
