Qosmio G30 gel mode failure & installation

Hello
My Qosmio G30 (Vista Ultimate installed) freezes during startup. In safe mode, it hangs on crcdisk.sys. I tried recovery from Vista DVD but still it crashes just after loading files when it shows the progress bar for the Microsoft Corporation bellows. Similar scenario occurs when I try original recovery DVD (Windows MCE).
It is interesting that little noise (I guess that fan) begins a few seconds after freezing (in all scenarios). I tried a few hours waiting, but nothing happens. BIOS diagnostics to show that everything is OK.
I would appreciate any suggestion so that I don't have to take the laptop to the service.

Hello

looks like a hardware problem. Already tried a different memory modules? Would be a good idea. Otherwise, I suggest you contact a local servicepartner and bring your machine here, I guess theres nothing you can by yourself.

Here´s a link to an index of ASP to find nearest service center in your country:

  • Qosmio G30-145: WinXP and RAID driver - no response

I did everything that is needed for the installation of windows xp for Qosmio G30-145.

Installation process is as a result: as in http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB56012H0001R01.htm and that worked, but during the installation of windows has started, you will be asked once more (first time I did format and second time that I did ' t format HARD drive): "INSERT THE DISK LABELLED"TOSHIBA RAID DRIVER"in the A: drive... "Press on enter when ready '- but no reaction... SOLUTION!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

According to the Toshiba page suggested when installing Windows using to partition or format the HARD drive, the RAID driver is deleted in the process. This causes the shot the next time that the machine start-up.
To avoid this, perform a partitioning and formatting before you run the manual installation of Windows.
This behavior is not displayed during the installation of Windows XP with SP2 integrated

Well, perhaps, you need a CD OS Win SP2 integrated?

But why you do not use the recovery CD Toshiba delivered?
On this CD, all drivers are preinstalled and you only need to install the OS from the recovery CD. All should work properly.

PS: Just for the record: in the BIOS, you should find an option to disable (or change) the RAID.

  • Installation of Qosmio G30 problem

    Hello to all the boys

    I have a huge problem

I have a Qosmio G30, recently he repeats, or used the disk, format it, confg. RAID, it will restart the formatting begins, ends will restart and the problem here.
Resuming at the end of installation, which occurs not because the video driver crashes (nv4_disp). So, every time I turn on the PC are always half installation.

I ask for help! And while we are to what you enter into the BIOS of Toshiba Qosmio G30.
    Thank you

To be honest, your assignment is a little confusing for me. If I understand you right, you want to install own OS, right?

Are you using the original recovery for the OS installation disc or you try to use the clean version?

  • Qosmio G30 - installation of Windows 7

    Hello

I recently installed Windows 7 on my Qosmio G30 (w / HD-DVD). Having noticed that some people have had problems with it, I decided to post my procedure.

My Qosmio has 2 hard drives with XP MCE installed on the primary. The RAID settings are 1RAID0 and JBOD. I decided to install Windows 7 on the second disc of HARD to dual boot with XP.

    1. upgrade the BIOS to 3.90
2 put the Toshiba RAID for Vista (version 1.10.0016) drivers on a USB key.
    3. use the Win7 DVD to portable computer startup in the installation program, it's better than the installer of in Windows XP/Vista.
4 load the RAID during the installation drivers to use hard drives (click on "Load driver").
    5. install Win7.
6 install Windows Update and let it download the necessary drivers.

You may need to manually install the drivers for Bluetooth and video Capture card.

The upgrade process went smooth every thing takes less than 2 hours.

Note that the Windows 7 installer does not recursively for the RAID drivers search, you must select the folder holding the KR10N. INF file in the location of the RAID driver.

    Hope this helps someone.

    Hey mate,

Thank you for this very interesting and nice post! :)

  • Display driver cannot complete installation on Qosmio G30-137

I just bought qosmio g30-137 of the Germany. My laptop had a German version of windows and I installed winXP PRO Greek edition. I have a problem with the graphics card driver. I downloaded from the TOSHIBA site. While I do Setup search the driver files that does not exist and I can't complete installation. I would like to know if anyone knows where I can find a driver to complete the procedure or if anyone knows what the problem is and how I resolve?
Also starting from TOSHIBA site some installation instructions that explain how to do the installation with the appropriate sequence. Also, I would like to know where I can find the chipset driver?

    Hello

Have you installed the Windows from the original CD of Microsoft?
Why you suggest that the graphics driver has a malfunction?

I guess you can not complete the original installation of the Win operating system due to the RAID driver and graphics driver. This unit has been delivered with RAID function and you need to install the RAID driver at the beginning of the installation of the OS.

In addition there is also an instruction and installation utility chipset on the Toshiba driver page.

  • Qosmio G30-163 - Installation Bluetooth - wedge several times to 10%

    It is a double issue.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-163 under MCE XP SP3. I am re-install the drivers after a corrupted registry problem.

The laptop has Bluetooth hardware installed. I downloaded the latest Toshiba BT Stack s/w for XP and I'm trying to install it. I have so far. Installation takes over at the helm of the 99%. Then another window opens "Install Bluetooth Drivers". It has a blue progress bar. It stops at 5 bars = 10% full. It hangs there - although there is considerable activity on the main hard drive. Finally, I cancel the installation. The main installation window responds with Installation. But the BT service is not running.

I raised a ticket with Sitecom, but the response has been to remove all the drivers because the dongle is just plug and play. This is false. The unit will not work without the drivers!

I am also installing a dongle Sitecom CN 516 Bluetooth on my Acer Aspire One 532 h running Win 7 Starter. I try to install the latest Toshiba BT Stack s/w for Win 7 (32 bit). Yet once that seems to happen at about 99% completion. Then another window opens "Install Bluetooth Drivers". It has a blue progress bar. It also stops at 5 bars = 10% full. It hangs there - although there is still considerable activity on the main hard drive. A popup window opens then 'Insert Bluetooth Device', I have in fact already done. I click OK. Five minutes later the same popup window appears asking once again the BT device to be plugged. I click OK. It is repeatable. Finally, I cancel the installation. The main installation window responds with Installation. But the device does not work.

What goes wrong if it pleases you, and how do I me BT to work in both scenarios? Thank you very much.

    Hello

The laptop is already equipped with an internal BT module.
But the BT module must be enabled in order to complete the installation procedure.
Please use the key combination Fn + F8 to active the BT, then check if the bar progresses.

  • Qosmio G30-153 too slow during installation

    Hello people,

My Qosmio G30-153 takes too much time to install normal programs/software. For example, it took me over 3 hours to install Office XP! -C' is ridiculous. Also it stucks in the first 4 "bars" when I try to install Macromedia Dreamweaver 8. It stucks on the "new" copy files Please what can I do to fix this? -Is that someone has this kind of a problem?

I should send it for service?

For now, I want to install dreamweaver 8 and install 9 hours now. That's half of the process. This is too MUCH fraustrating! Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Post edited by: Vasilias

    Hi Vasilias

That s is amazing! You need 9 hours to install a simple web application!
It's very strange and I would first say that there must be a hardware malfunction

But did you install all the applications 3rd? What about the CPU usage? Open the Task Manager and check if there is no strange background on the laptop running process
Have you checked for some malicious software system?

You defragment the HARD disk? Please also start the 'chkdsk' for the HARD disk check

After installing Vista on my G30 HD DVD I have no sound on any application via a HDMI cable. Sound works fine on the internal speakers. He also worked very well under XP. Can anyone help?

    Hello

The noise does not appear on the external HD TV which was connected to the Qosmio G30 via an HDMI cable. But the internal speakers work. Am I wrong?

Buddy you check the sound options in the control panel?
Check if all controls are set at a higher level and are not disabled!

  • Qosmio G30 - nVidia graphics card failure

    Hello

as the title says my graphics card went kaput on Qosmio G30, who is 14 months old.

I read in some places that could be the problem with the generation of nvidia graphics cards.
Does anyone have any info on this subject because I have just quoted entre.6 and 1.8 k for what fixed it.
This graphics card is separate from the motherboard or this prob will result in a new motherboard. If anyone has any info I would be very grateful, thank you, thomas

PS for some reason that I could not connect with my username (yetchh) original so had to create a new account, have no idea why?

    Post edited by: yetchhh

    Hi Thomas

    That s a pity :(
Especially the GPU (graphics chip) is attached to the motherboard. He welded s and replacement is not easy.

There are several Lepidoptera, I called the ASP in my country because I needed some info on replacing the CPU on my old laptop and the guy said that the replacement of the CPU or GPU is not easy and is not possible.

Well, what to say I think you should contact the authorized service provider in your country for replacement of equipment.

But I wonder why you come in on costs?
The laptop is about 14 months. If you have registered your laptop on the Toshiba page, you should get a 2 year warranty which should focus on the laptop.

So all pieces of equipment should be replaced for free.

  • Qosmio G30 PQG32E - Bootmanager missing

I'm running a Qosmio G30 PQG32E - a wonderful machine and I'm still waiting for Toshiba to bring out a new model with the same resolution.

Vista has been installed at the origin of a Raid configuration.
This was later changed to Windows XP and the disks in JBOD.
    Everything worked well.

My son has improved the Win7 Professional machine - always very well.
I took the machine back and installed Kubuntu with the original Vista recovery disc - still very well.
During the year a lot of unnecessary baggage accumulated - also in the registry.
I checked the score with TestDisk and found a myriad of old OS - including Vista. So, I did a clean install to clean both discs using DBan.

I have reinstalled Kubuntu on disk2 intending to install Win7 on disk1.
Win7 informs me that there is no hard drive - it find external USB drives but not the internal.
Vista goes in the BSD - probably because the boot.ini is ste for a raid configuration (?).
I reinstalled the MBR - checked it again with Testdisk and it seems ok.

No boot manager! No hard drive in diskpart list disk.
    I did bootrec /fixmbr /fixboot /rebuildbcd - no joy.
The internal hard drive are not and victory starts with C: being a USB key.

What can I do else? I don't want to not really or need windoze could therefore only lkeave, but it puzzles me and maybe someone can point me in another direction.

Yes, I downloaded the latest driver (TC0017000B.exe) raid but cannot run it because it is on USB and when running, it tells me that WBDHD44I.dll is missing.

    > Win7 informs me that there is no hard drive - it find external USB drives but not the internal.
    > Internal hard drive are not and victory starts with C: a USB key.

Looks a bit like a HARD disk failure
The HARD drive is visible in the BIOS?

Check the HARD drive using freeware like Drive Fitness Test tool. The bootable disc would check the fitness of HARD drive and if the HARD drive is faulty, you will get an error.

By the way: the TC0017000B.exe can be decompressed. If you unpack this package, you will get the files WBDHD44I. DLL, WBTOS45I. DLL and sys files.
I recommend you move these package unpacked on USB key to add the RAID driver during the installation of Win 7.

  • Qosmio G30 - recovery disk to unzip files, but nothing happens

I have a Qosmio G30 running Windows XP MCE. Windows has somehow was corrupt and laptop could only be started in safe mode. I backed up all my data but when I run the restore disc, it gets to 100%, but then nothing else happens. It says to eject the disc, but then just restarts automatically and that's all. I can't even open in safe mode now because it indicates that the installation is incomplete and I must rerun the recovery. I tried this but nothing helped.

I'm stuck because now I can not open in safe mode.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Have you tested what happens with Microsoft XP disc?
In addition, I would try to format the HARD drive first. Therefore, you can use a Microsoft disc to wipe the entire HARD disk. After that try the recovery disk again.

    Check this box!

I'm stuck and tried a lot of combinations, different and re-installed the OS twice, I am an administrator and possess these privelages. HELP :((

    Hi mate

Installing the RAID driver could solve this problem...

Also, I guess you used the right RAID settings in the BIOS.
As far as I know, you can change the RAID option in the BIOS on the last page (3-3)
RAID0 means stripping and RAID1 mirror you want to use.

After changing the RAID parameters, you must confirm this insert the string 1,2,3,4 and enter.

But note; After changing this you will need new OS install
