qsfsfltr.sys do winxp crash

I have toshiba laptop runnign Windows XP Edition SP3 family

I am installing an IOMEGA home media network drive

my computer crashes (blue screen) whenever I try to install the s/w on the CD
blue screen made reference to the QsFsFLtr.sys file

I check the iomega site, there is just 1 or 2 mentions of this problem with anyone who says that Q - .sys file could be damaged.

I see very louis577 info on the internet on this specific issue

What is this file and I can reinstall it somehow or how can I be sure that this file is the cause of the crash?

THX!

Maybe this will help: I recently bought an Iomega Prestige external hard drive and hooked it up to my Windows Vista laptop. Everything went well with the installation of the equipment. That's when I went on the Iomega site and downloaded and installed Iomega QuickProtect that I started to have the blue screen of death after a reboot. I could only boot mode safe. In addition to this, it was impossible to uninstall Iomega QuickProtect via the control panel. What I did is progressing the safe boot mode and delete the QuickProtect folder, then run CCleaner to remove references to register at QuickProtect. Problem solved. For me, at least. Your mileage may vary :)

Help me please. I have to update my winxp on truth windows update - and download driver mouse tech has FOUR (I have this mouse). Windows notice me that this driver is not certified by microsoft, but I click on Yes. Now, I have a problem - when I connect mouse to the usb port system is crash. What can I do?

    Hello

In my opinion if it s a USB mouse it s not necessary to install the mouse driver because the operating system automatically recognizes the USB device. I recommend you remove the mouse driver. After the restart of the operating system, you can try to reconnect the mouse to the port.

Original title: crashing in Vista, something with the drivers I think

At startup, I see a message that says: Media test failure.  I can sometimes to vista in normal mode, but then it's a matter of time (not too long usually) before the screen flickers and goes black.  I then turn off the power and restart.  Once it says graphics driver NVIDIA has stopped working properly, I've updated my driver and now it says it's working properly, but I still have the same problem.  My bucket of blue screen error is: 0x116_TdrBCR:2_Tdr:2_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys any help will be greatly appreciated

    Hi zambetti,.

Bug VIDEO_TDR_ ERROR control has a value of 0 x 00000116. This error indicates that an attempt to reset display driver and recover a timeout failed.

    Check out the link:

Since you've already tried to update the Nvidia drivers, you can try to uninstall and reinstall the same check.

You can try to uninstall and reinstall all the programs and features Nvidia drivers and Device Manager.

    Step 1:

Uninstall the audio drivers from programs and features

    a. click on start

    b. type appwiz.cpl in the start search

    c. search for all driver packages, Nvidia, right click and uninstall.

    Step 2:

Uninstall the drivers from Device Manager.

    a. click on start

    b. type devmgmt.msc in search, and then press enter

    c. in find Manager device for the device, right-click on it and select the option uninstall.

After you remove the drivers of these two places, you can try to remove the NVIDIA folder and restart to see if that solves the problem after I installed the generic drivers.

    Step 3:

    To delete the folder:

one. Click on start and Type C:\windows\system32\drivers folder in start search

    b. click on drivers and select nvlddmkm.sys

    c. right click and rename nvlddmkm.sys in nvlddmkm.sys.old. or delete.

I installed WindowBlinds 7, improvement and some other stuff on my computer. They caused a lot of mistakes, so I uninstalled them. After stopping, at startup, the computer crashes without any error code and restarts. Then he says: "Windows could not initialize properly" or something. So I started in Safe Mode and press ENTER to continue loading the MSR. SYS. It crashed the computer without errors, too. When I do not press ENTER, he was able to open a session without failure. • Satellite M40 - problem USB

    Hello

I am the owner of a Satellite M40-129 and it seems, I have problems with USB.

When I stopped the WinXP system, I think that it is in English, hibernate mode and try to restart, I get a blue screen with the text and with a failure message, the file "usbport.sys" caused the crash.
In addition, I use all three usb ports. On, I use a USB 2.0 on the other Hub usb hub 1.1 and the mouse directly on the third port. Since a few days, I installed a printer multifunction Brother on the USB 2.0 hub, but from the beginning of the system, I can't connect to the internet, because I always get a new failure message, that the (Allied Telesyn AT AR215) DSL modem is already in use or another usb device is improperly installed. To solve the problem, I tried almost all the positions of USB port for both devices and I de - and reinstalled the two train several times. But in addition, I have updated the BIOS yesterday, but without success. No, I use either only the internet with disconneted printer or the printer does not have access to the internet until you restart without connected printer.

    I hope someone can help.
    Thank you
    Thomas

    HI Thomas

Sorry, but it is not easy to give you a good explanation. As far as I know a few other components materials don t support hibernation procedure. The problem is that if the unit goes into hibernation mode every process must be stopped and some of them cannot be stopped on the easy way and stop correctly but forced to shut down. I'm sure that your device goes into hibernation correctly mode if there is no external device. Am I wrong?

Try to remove all external devices and after that, go to the Device Manager. Remove the USB ports and restart the device. After a reboot all components will be recognized and installed correctly. Check if the modem works correctly if there are no other USB devices connected to the laptop.

  • Express Media Player stopped working after Windows recovery with partition

    Hi people

I'm new to this forum. We hope to get some tips on your part I recently got a laptop A100. It comes with the Media of Express Player (EMP) installed. Given that my HARD drive is 160 GB, I need to make a few partition to protect my data should WinXP crashes and needed recovery. I used Toshiba Windows restore CD to restore windows to a 40 GB partition and set up the other as an extended partition. This is the final State of my laptop after that.
    C: 40GB (contains WinXP)
    D: ~ 108 GB (for my data)
I can see an unknown partition of ~ 250 MB, which is for EMP. I turned off my PC and turn it on using the button of the EMP. It did not work! EMP does not start. Can you guys advise? Anyone tried the partition their HARD drive and for the EMP to work?

    Hello

Usually, if you want to use the functions of player Media Express that the Mediaplayer Express Recovery CD should be performed before performing recovery of recovery, DVD-ROM.

You know you can't run Express Media player after performing a recovery!

But it seems that you have not formatted the disk around and packed only the extra partition. Eventually, you n t need to reinstall the drive Media Express.

I studied a little more on the technical knowledge of Toshiba and found this:

In rare cases, Windows XP starts instead of the Media Express Player

My pagefile.sys has completely disappeared. This all started when the power failed and my computer crashed.
I get the message that he was away, I went to the performance and settings and tried to change custom settings & re-start.
No matter what I do, nothing works. I lost several hours of visiting sites for tips and nothing seems to help.

So I put the folders to show hidden files and delete pagefile.sys. I have re-set and tried to recover with no success.
There is now absolutely no pagefile.sys on my C drive. Anyone know how I can get back my pagefile.sys?
I want to get my virtual memory works again?
Thank you very much in advance!

I'd start first with the chkdsk/r.

Don't forget - if you have a factory installed recovery Partition, fixmbr will scan it as the Master Boot Record that written XP will equal not the MBR installed by the factory, so first run chkdsk /r (did I say that already)?

    Here are some instructions:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/RCONSOLE.htm

Where people have no XP bootable media, here are my instructions:

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

The nvlddmkm.sys belongs to the nVidia driver that's why I recommend to uninstall this driver first.
After the new reboot, you should clean the system using tools such as for example: CCLeaner

Also look for a "Minidump" folder in the disk Local (c) / Windows and remove this "Minidump" folder located in "(c) / Windows.

After rebooting again to check the functionality of the laptop and install the nVidia Driver has published on the page of Toshiba

Well, I was playing League and my pc just crashed for atikmdag.sys, and after that he has never again, pc seems to work very well, l ights lights. fan starts working, etc., but I guess that no image.

I found a solution for the problem of atikmdag.sys but need the pc to start to do lol.

nothing seems to work.is it is possible that the graphics card is dead?
It is anyway, a bi - gpu

should not t he at least start from the integrated graphics card or something?
I have no idea what to do.

is it possible that the graphics card is dead?

I fear that this could be the problem.

The fact atikmdag.sys part of the ATI drivers BSOD package is especially a sign of serious software or hardware malfunction.

If the laptop powers properly upward, the POST (power on self-test) cannot be passed, and this means that the material could be affected.
Sorry, Matt, but everything looks like the GPU could be the troublemaker.

If the laptop is out of warranty, the fix will be expensive because GPU / motherboard are one of the laptop computer cheap parts.
