• Microsoft SQL Server license model the cheapest for vCenter?

  I was wondering what would be the less expensive license for an SME model that needs to have exceeded SQL express?

  SQL licenses, it's not what I'm doing and I'm getting quotes from 300-$ 30,000 from providers such as CDW (kind of SQL licenses should not be what someone else does either). What I would do, is get the cheapest combination of Server/CAL or by heart that keeps my legal SMB - and I thought someone here might have some experience in the field.

  Environmental databases:

  • Necessary databases: vCenter, composer, Horizon view events DB.
  • Database server will have 2 cores
  • All services configured to use a service account (one user) DBA & Windows Authentication

  Hi, my SQL Server 2014 works very well in my server with WIndows 2012 until I installed the new day & service pack that was required for server hardening.

  I successfully installed SP1 KB 3058865 first, then discovered that the services do not start. After so much research to fix, I came with the 2 cu updates KB3075950, KB3094221 in knowing that it could solve my problem but unfortunately is not.

  I also tried to change the service account that many suggest, but his does not work.

  I tried to replace the master file & maslog but also failed.

  I tried to run etc and unique usermode and restore master db... also failed.

• Installation of Microsoft SQL server 2014 on Windows server 2012 R2 Std (Eng the 64-bit environment)

  I am about to install Microsoft SQL server on my server Windows 2012 R2 2014.

  The network consists of three offices of construction, all connected through VPN tunnels.

  There is only one server in each office, all promoted domain controllers servers. (Two servers running Windows 2012 R2 server Std, the first domain controller is running on the Windows 2008 R2 server).

  The installation allows me to have single login in one of the networks of site and access my storage server.

  I have some difficulty during the installation of Microsoft SQL server 2014. It seems that the service will not start.

  I install SQL server by using the domain administrator, such as the local administrator account is deleted due to the promoted feature of DC. Facilities is made from the server that will have the SQL service running.

  Best practices or the settings before installation very appreciated.

• Advanced POS 5.8 only sees the system databases in SQL Server 2014 and fails when attempting backup

  We have upgraded to VDP 5.8 has progressed today and installed the new SQL agent in 3 different SQL servers.  Two SQL Server 2008 work well with VDP machines - he can see all databases.

  But when I try to create a backup of the SQL Server 2014 computer, by selecting individual databases, the VDP device (such as it is controlled through vSphere Web Client) sees only the three system databases

  Basically, you need to either run the 'Backup Agent' service in a context that had rights to the SQL Server or you have enable the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM account with rights on the SQL Server.  Not obvious in the documentation, but that solved for me.

  It seems that in this case is called merge operation. If existing records (check primary key) are not there then it will be inserted on the other update. • PDF IFilter support for 8.1 Windows and SQL Server 2014

  We use Adobe PDF iFilter Version 64 11.0.01 (here: https://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5542) full-text support for PDF files on SQL Server and Windows Server 2012 2012. This works also on Windows Server R2 from 2012 to 2014 of SQL-Server even if both is not listed in the list of the applications/OS supported. But it does not work for the combination of 8.1 to Windows and SQL-Server, 2014.

  Can anyone provide a solution to make it work for this combination, or know when it will be officially supported?

• See cant SQL Server tab on the New/Select database connection

  I can't see the SQL Server tab in the new database connection window. I added the jdbc SQL Server driver using the tools-> Preferences-> Third Party JDBC Driver, but all I can see are the Oracle and the tabs to Access.
  
  I use the version 1.5.4.
