• BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8800 with provider telering

  Hi, I live in Austria, Europe. I have a Blackberry 8800 and recently had to change the provider (previously A1 Vodafone).

  Now, I have a SIM "telering" (part of the group T-Mobile Austria) with a contract called "Großer Basta", which includes 2 GB data volume.

  However, I don't know how to activate GPRS or EDGE for data transfer. The phone displays GSM only, I can phone and send (and receive) text messages, but I have NO e-mail or Internet access. Telering is not very useful, I'm afraid.

  If anyone can help I would be very grateful, thanks in advance.

  Looks like your PIN has not been implemented for the data with the new mobile network carrier.

  If you go to Options>Advanced Options>host Routing Table, you have all the entries listed? Otherwise, if you do Menu > register now, you get the enrollment message?

  If you answer no to any of these questions, then you will need to contact the current mobile operator and ensure that your data services are provided.

Device current s/w is 4.2, and I'm moving to 4.5, but via the website (BB), I get "no updates available". With the help of a freshly downloaded BB Desktop Software, he said a 4.5 Bundle is available, but just after the opening, I get "there was an error in updating your software. Please try again ".

  You should try the manual method... from a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

  Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

  If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  I used to lock my keyboard by holding down the LOCK button (A *) and unlock by pressing the MUTE. The LOCK button no longer works

  The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery while the power is on. Leave the battery for a minute or 2.

  See if that solves the problem.

  I had BB phones since the 8320 came out.  Now have 9700.  I make use of BB intl e-mail when overseas.  (I think BB is in 90 countries - I have used it in at least 15).

  1. I'm not really well informed about all this.  All I know is that BB treats my email is transferred from gmail, Yahoo, etc.  I send my email in gmail (single company)...

  BB will continue this service for phones that work on OS 5, 6 and 7?  I think it has been discontinued on OS 10?

  2 suitable service BES a businessman solo who needs to manage the e-mail?  It would seem that maybe that's only for mega-companies.   Are there companies out there that would bundle small users together in order to access the BES?  (Is it possible.?)

  And finally, if small users will, in fact, to be cut utilities to BB - why should stay us (just 2 lines)?

  Suddenly cut Google Google Voice of all BB users last month.  Google Maps still work on everything but OS10 - but Google could cut that as well (although I doubt it because I think it's a money maker for them.)

  Except for the fact BB may be the last regulation. should w. a physical keyboard - only BB offer do not have Android or other systems of the OS?   Due to a slight hand tremor recently acquired - I need a physical keyboard.  I have trouble using a virtual keyboard.

  Is not at all what I said, and I do believe that it is true. Internal full BES, Yes, is oriented to companies that can achieve economies of scale. But there are services of BES-level (e.g., hosted) available pretty much anyone.

• Smartphone blackBerry 8800 - OS does not seem to be upgraded

  It's kind of weird...

  My 8800 lists the version as v4.2.1.72 (in options-> on)

  I downloaded 4.2.1.79 from blackberry.com:

  I ran the install several times, routine apparently successfully.

  However options-> on still shows the version as 4.2.1.72.

  Any thoughts?

  I would recommend that you go ahead and install the last version released for the 8800.

  If you are using an at & t bold, not unlocked and the United States, go to http://wireless.att.com/blackberrystart and register your IMEI and PIN and sign up here.  You can add all your email addresses, change the signature "sent via blackberry" to be what you want and what the service books sent to your phone for your e-mail addresses.

  If you do not use at & t, google " BIS" and who generally back the registration of BIS for most carriers.

  Whenever random strange behaviors creep, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  Is it possible to disable the unlocking function of this button?

  I have defined LHS convenience to unlock the phone, which is great as you, then press on *, then the green button to unlock. However, a simple press up while it is in a pocket or something, and the thing unlocked and likely to make calls!

• Keyboard for Smartphones blackBerry with three languages + other question

  Hello, question about the keyboard. I've used for several years, both physical KB (z30) virtual bb10 KB (passport - best physics kb). Something that both got kb was very well the ability to write in several languages at the same time, in the sentence, and the Ko magically would correctly identify what language I was using and could give me any suggestions according to this and more important still, if one has been written in English but then type something in my second or third language , will not auto correct. Now, I have a private and I have these two questions:
  1. - I can not type in several languages at the same time without changing the language first. I put the three I use most, but all the suggestions and auto correct options are in the main language only. I'm surprised because this has been well implemented with bb10 and yet a BlackBerry smartphone. Any suggestion?
  2 - for some reason, in mid sentence, a word would have the first capital letter, just the option in the space bar is the same word I wrote, but with a capital letter. Boring.

  Sorry for the late reply, I didn't know you posted a suggestion... I had put everything in settings multilingual, but did not work. However apparently, in android, there's the thing that I found in another forum so let me add here... I followed these instructions step by step and now I have a kb truly multilingual, with automatic detection... some steps I've done it before with no luck but to do all in sequence... If you previously installed the multilanguage, delete it and start from scratch:

  1. install and activate the BlackBerry keyboard
  * Go to the language and entry
  * Go to "default keyboard / current keyboard", press "configure the inputs.
  method' and activate the BlackBerry keyboard
  * Select BlackBerry keyboard as default keyboard

  2 configure the keyboard
  * Under the keyboard and input methods, tap on the BlackBerry keyboard
  * Press on multilingual keyboard
  * Choose your main language (which is in German) and the secondary
  language (IE. US English)
  * Press on save at the top right and click on "activate now".
  * You will now see a dialog language. Disable 'language use of the system '.

  AND NOW COMES THE BIG THING:
  * In the language list that is displayed, you will notice that your
  main language is listed TWICE (in my case GERMAN and just below a
  second GERMAN. Select the SECOND ENTRY and DO NOT select your
  language school (in my case English of the United States) in the list.
  * Press return to save the configuration

  I just bought the blackberry 8800 to my friend and I have a few problems. There is no icon or any feature that allows me to text or reply to a received text. I don't understand why not. I have a project to send SMS messages, but there is no icon saying don't compose text or the answer. Also my locks phone on me in a minute and have to enter the password again and again. There is no way to change the length or disable the password. Is it because I need to update the software and if so, what software do I need?

  Just so you have something in the services section, this means that a COMPUTER policy is in place on the device. Maybe it's prevent compose SMS messages, just follow the steps on this link to remove the policy:http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Remove_IT_Policy

  Hello. I have a blackberry 8800 from T-Mobile and last night I was in the middle of the upgrade of the operating system when, believe it or not, my computer STOPPED. So I thought, I have if he just plug load and back in my backup... but unfortunately, when I plug in my camera, I get a message saying that the USB device has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize.
