  Not something I would recommend to do, but maybe possible, you will need to remove the essbase Shared services project, stop essbase, rename or delete essbase.sec and rename ESSBASE. BAK_preUPM to essbase.sec, startup essbase.

• MSAD question shared services configuration?

  I recently configured MSAD with shared services.but, the problem is that the hfm users are not in the same group at msad.so I am not getting all the hfm users.so I set up 2 groups of msad more.
  
  now the problem is when configuring, please enter the username and password of any user in this group.here the password will change for each days.and 45 it is not practically possible to have other SSP password for the administrator to change for every 45 days.

  Hi Nani,

  Yes, you must specify a user id & pwd to connect MSAD, but do not use anonymous option as it is not a good practice to connect MSAD.

  As you say it is change of password in all 45 days so please check with the windows team who maintain & manage MSAD and let them ask to create a service account and do not set the option to password expiration after n days. This is how works the service account.

• Sharing service does not work in Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Photos and calendar

  Among the interesting features that I used for a while is the ability for a large number of Apple applications, such as Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and Photos to share content using the "Send a copy" feature (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) or 'Share' (Photos). Unfortunately, these sharing services are no longer works for me in any application, and they have not been for several weeks.

  So what happens is, for example, when I'm in Pages and I select 'Share' icon in the menu bar and then "send a copy" and I select "Mail" (or all the options on the list besides), it gives me a dialogue window asking me the format I would like to share (Pages PDF file, Word Doc etc.). When I choose an option, a process that happens in the background that is supposed to send the file to Mail, open a new message, and then add the file as an attachment. However, in my case, the process seems to get stuck somewhere because the Mail opens not with a new message, but Pages continues to think that he is trying to send the file via mail because all options of sharing are grayed out. So that I can continue to work on the document, the sharing feature is no longer available and that I must leave the Pages and then relaunch the application. This same behavior happens in Numbers and Keynote trying to share a document, and this regardless of the application that I'm trying to share it with.

  This type of thing happens in the pictures when I select a photo and try and hand using Mail, except in the case of Photos, I can't continue to use the application and I need to force quit and raise in order to work again the application.

  Another note, which I think is related, is that when I get an email in Mail that has a calendar attachment (file here) and I double-click the attachment file, it will open the calendar but the new event may not be listed or available to add. I enter the information manually.

  In troubleshooting, I rebooted the computer several times and I have also checked my preferences, extensions and to my knowledge, I don't have any installed third-party extensions (there is no third party extension that appear under the option 'All' on the left side). Short to wipe my hard drive, and then reinstall the operating system and all my applications, I don't know where to look to try to solve this problem. Also, I can't identify any specific event (installation of the software, updated software, etc.) that causes this problem to occur. I also tried to connect to a guest on my computer user account, but the same issues were present in the user account guest that I described above, leading me to believe that it is not a question of corruption within my user account, but rather an entire system.

• Network of Windows media sharing service player does not start - Vista and PS3

  I am running Vista 32 bit Home Premium and trying to share my media to DLNA on my PS3 PC using Windows Media Sharing Service. UPnP is enabled. Network discovery is turned on. File sharing is enabled. Media sharing is turned on.

  Whenever I visit Windows Media Player or try to change the setting of sharing media in network and sharing Center, there is the error message "media sharing is currently disabled, either because the sharing service is not running or your firewall settings have changed. To restart sharing, you must first confirm your settings.

  During the deactivation and reactivation of sharing multimedia files, I never see PS3 on the list (not a single unknown device appears). Also I see no Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service on the list of Services - there is no way to toggle the service or do start automatically.

  There are several user accounts on this PC and I made the changes on my admin account.

  Tried a 3rd party software Java "PS3 Media Server" and makes my Vista computer show on PS3 without parameters or modifications to firewall. This suggests that the WIFI, router, network discovery and UPnP work. I prefer to use Windows services if I would only get their work.

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

• Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service missing in Windows Vista

  I use Vista and WMP11.  I have all the Vista and WMP11 installed updates.  I'm trying to set up the sharing and noticed that the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is totally absent from Services.  I ran the Vista System File Checker and it did not help.  How do we install this service?

• Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service or a service it depends on failed to start. (Windows 8)

  A problem occurred recently in which I can't stream my music from WMP with other devices in the home as my Xbox 360 group. It has always worked well and this is the first time, it's happened.   I had this problem as well, with 8.1 widows.  On the Dependencies tab, I had two components, the HTTP Service and Windows Search. I found that Windows Search has been disabled.  I don't know how it's spent, but allowing him to corrects the problem.

  I installed and configured 11.1.2.4 recently on server r2 2012. The current environment of EMP 11.1.2.1 is installed under 2008 r2. They are currently using Essbase, financial reports and Shared Services. My question is, how do I migrate shared Services for the new facility. I read book after book and can't seem to understand.

  If someone has never successfully done it can get a walk through how?

  It would be by EAS or a file system copy that you tried.

• "Assign access control" on essbase applications through shared services

  Hi Experts,

  I just install an Essbase 11.1.2.4 environment, where I could see that the ability to assign filters to users in environmental assessments is disabled (I guess maybe it's that this version does not support the autonomous concept).

  So I thought of attribution of the filters to users through shared services groups\Essbaseinstance1\sampleapp Application - access entitlement control, but when I click on "Assign access control", it says in the right pane that the page cannot be displayed.

  Any tips?  for your information, I use IE 11.

  I gather from your question that EAS runs like it enough to be upward, as you did that you have configured the web server again after that the configuration of the Regional service otherwise it will be a communication error.

• Error in shared services

  Hi team,
  I see the error in shared services below when I go under user-> Native directory directories - > select a group-> members users Properties.
  
  «EPMCSS-05261: could not get the information of the Aboriginal group.» Error getting to some of the affected user entries. Check the configuration and user directory State.
  
  I tried to reboot the SSP, but I can still see the error. Users get access questions of privilege.

  I had the same error message.  It seems to be that an external user (from the Active Directory in MS) has been added to the group.  The user is no longer in MS Active Directory.  I'm still working on a clean and simple slution to fix this.  You can add a user to the groups (SSP) and save the group.  You will get a warning that some info will be lost (invalid user info will be lost/removed from the SS registry DB, so no problem there).  I have over 700 groups, so it won't be a long term solution (like every Monday, check all 700 + groups).  I tried to add a user to the Group of MaxL, but does not remove the invalid user from the group.  I was not able to identify the specific invalid user in the SS DB tables.

  Furthermore, I believe that in addition to the error message, we have a few problems with intermittent access because of this.

• Assigning control in Shared Services.

  It is a simple, I simply forgot. I have a group (for example, GroupA) with existing users and filters already in place. I want to add a new user (UserA for example) to the Group and assign control Shared Services 11.1.2.1. After you add the user to the group, do i:
  
  (a) search by groupname GroupA and set it to control?
  or (B) search by user name for wear control and assign the user?

  You are filters assigned by the group or user, if they are in a group and you assigned previously them then filters should already be in place, if it is by the user then assign filters to the user.

  Downloaded Support Advisor - has not found any question.

  Resolved using CHAT with an agent.  Souloumiac was excellent.

  At issue:

  Navigate the DVD, open the PES 12 folder (if you download then it should be in the folder of Photoshop Elements).

  The ElementsSTIInstaller to install it then running

  NAVIGATE to "C/Program file (X 86) /Common leader/Adobe /.

  RENAME the OOBE folder as oldOOBE.

  FORCE DVD

  It is now installed.

  HFM file security manages the following:

  -What groups / users are configured for this specific application
  -What security Classes exist for this app
  -What are the roles for this app do users / groups.
  -What class of security access level users / groups in this app

  Provides shared Services for the following
  -Management of Aboriginal communities and users (add/remove/modify) for the whole of the environment. (no App or same HFM)
  -Management composition of Aboriginal groups / users. Linking groups to other groups and/or users
  -Commissioning of roles for users/groups to an application (similar to what can be done in the security file)
  -Creation of Classes of security (as in the security file)
  -Assign the class of access between the classes and the users and/or groups (as you can do in the security file)
  -Managing roles for elements OTHER THAN HFM (area of work/reports, etc.)

  Your specific question, it is not a difference when it comes to the allocation of rights between Shared Services or via the SEC file. If you were available to users through the Shared Services U / I and then create a security from you would see these changes reflected. (access to a class, rights service, etc.)

  In theory if the account of the announcement is no longer so the provisioning is removed, now in the past there has been problems where if you don't service user first, before getting deleted from the announcement then the user still exists in some tables and becomes bland.
  Sometimes utility like provsionusers and updateusers to synchronize up to shared services and delete all obsolete users, sometimes, they had to be removed manually.
  I have not really tested or seen what is happening with the latest version to see if he actually manages to clean all obsolete users without any problem.

  Only SSP administrators can create and view audit reports to follow the historical development of the security of the data.
