Question on Update Manager (classified "Available path")

Hi all:

I have a dummy question: what is him classified 'Patch available' means in the Update Manager?

I found nothing in the documentation...

Thank you

Olegarr

I could be wrong, but perhaps he says true or false, because these fixes are available in your repository to update.

When was the last time your VMware Update Manager download update ran?

HU? you don t see the plugin update manager plugins available or installed? It's weird.

now go to uninstall your vc client, reinstall it and make sure that you also install update manager plugin when he asked. then try again.

I created a lab with 2 hosts ESXi (5.5.0) environment and a vCenter device (5.5.0).

I need to perform a few tests using the Update Manager, but I was unable to find the procedure to install it.

I understood that MU can be installed on the device of vCente.

The procedure is the same, take a look: vSphere Update Manager (VUM) (part 2) - Installation

You just have to provide the address (or FQDN) IP, port, user name and password before you connect to your vCSA questioned by Update Manager installation wizard (Figure #3 on the link I posted above).

  • Server Update Manager vCenter - host supports

I am currently preparing our environment for the upgrade to vCenter Server v2.0.2 to Update3 V2.5

Currently, we only have 3.0.1 and 3.0.2 hosts and I'm busy to patch the 3.0.1 hosts to satisfy the prerequisites for the upgrade of the vCenter server.

My question is, Update Manager supports the correction of the old armed forces or is it only 3i and 3.5 hosts it supports.  I read it somewhere but can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere

  • I have a question about the ESXi upgrade using Update Manager...

This is probably a stupid question, but I've never played and update ESXi using Update Manager.  We need to update ESXi ESXi 4.1 4.1 servers before vCenter 5.0 U1 from U2 (there is a known issue where the ESXi 4.1 servers receive the GROUP after upgrading vCenter to 5.0 U1).  We used HP ESXi image to install ESXi on our servers for new installations.  This image contains ESXi.1 U2 as well as the drivers of HP and CIM.

    4.1_U2_Oct_2011_ESXi_HD - USB-SDImgeInstlr_Z7550 - 00241.iso

Can this same image HP ESXi 4.1 U2 that we used to install to new ESXi servers, be used to upgrade our 4.1 4.1 U2 ESXi servers using the Update Manager?  Or, upgrade package should be used for the upgrade?  Also, if an upgrade package must be used, is it OK to use one provided by VMware, or will be losing our HP specific drivers and CIM to do this?

    Thank you

    Hello

You can import custom HP ESXi 4.1 U2 ISO in Update Manager (don't forget to use the latest version of June 2012, available here: https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPVM06) and update the hosts with her.

In a second step, you can then import the last custom HP ESXi ISO 5.0 (available here: https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPVM09) and update the hosts again with her.

To be on the current ESXi 5.0 patch level you finally apply the latest patches from VMware via the Update Manager.

  • Passage of 3.5u3 in vSphere4 - Question on vCenter Update Manager

    Morning all,

We watch move from 3.5u3 to 4 and have never installed vCenter Update Manager (updates manual favorite).

Reading upgrade procedures he explains how we can improve the cluster (5 esx servers) to 4 using the Update Manager.

I was wondering which is the best way to go (the upgrade will not place outside office hours so no confusing our users)

    (1) install Update Manager (relevant version for 3.5u3) now (this allows us to provide fully functional)

    (2) install the Update Manager (version 3.5u3) on Saturday morning, just before the upgrade

    (3) install Update Manager v4 (new now allowing time to test)

    (4) install Update Manager v4 on Saturday morning, just before the upgrade

The reason to ask, I have very little knowledge of the update manager and the last thing I really want is ad-hoc updates applied (as the updates of windows). I'm guessing the number 3 is the best option in this way I can test and have fully functional before necessary - but prefer to get the opinion of those who could have a better understanding.

    TIA

Use vCenter Server 4.0 (U1) and the new AUVS.

  • Service Update Manager 5.5 crashing on Windows Server R2 2012

    Hello

I try to get VUM 5.5 1 c working on a Windows Server R2 2012, but without a bit of luck.

Everything installs correctly, Setup detects 32-bit DSN pointing to our SQL 2008 R2 server and database connectivity works. However, as soon as I am scanning an ESXi host available updates the vSphere VMware Update Manager service fails and a dmp file is created under C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware update Manager\Logs.

Just to be sure I installed Crossover on another server in W2K12R2 own, but the end upwards with exactly the same problem. When I install the product on a Windows Server 2008 R2, it works very well.

According to the VMware 5.5 VUM compatibility matrix works with W2K12R2, but this isn't for me.

I enclose the vum-vmware-server log file that contains information about the accident of service.

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade my 5.1 ESXi host using update running 5.0u1 ESXi and vCenter 5.0u1 Manager.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

The appropriate upgrade path is updated to vCenter 5.1 first, and then upgrade the ESXi hosts later. It was the same process for the ages with all the upgrades of version of VMware. The upgrade to vCenter is no problem (is). I can see and manage all hosts ESXi5.0U1, but prefer to use Update Manager vCenter to upgrade their 5.1 rather than on the road to CD, but there is no VIB files ' esxi 5.0-> 5.1 upgrade ' available, so nothing to import in the Update Manager.»

It is not the end of the world, and the upgrade still works I don't know, but I would have thought this VIB would have been available when the 5.1 became available.

  • Attempt to update v9.4.3 and am said iPhoto update is not available because it has been purchased by another user despite the fact that my new Mac utilities show that he got Apple 19/04/13.  How can I fix this?

My attempt to update iPhoto which presents in the folder utility as having been obtained from Apple on the 19/04/13 is rejected w/notice that the update is not available for this Apple ID because it has been purchased by another user.  How can I get the update?

There are some inconsistencies in your question:

    1. If you do not have 10.11.4 then you can not possible be eager to download iPhoto 9.4.3 because it does not work on El Capitan.  You'll need iPhoto 9.6.1.

2 - If you get the message that iPhoto was bought under another Apple ID then he leads us to ask if you have purchased your new iMac or used?  Try to go on the App Store, sign out and then sign in with your Apple ID and see if you get the same message.

We are just so not the same page what system are you running?  What version of iPhoto do you currently have? Have you bought the new iMac or used?
