NETGEAR r7500: how to check your firmware of the router & material is updated and how many MB/s, it is capable of holding

Hi Redskins79,

Here's how you can check the version of the firmware of the router.

http://KB.NETGEAR.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/23442/~/how-do-i-update-my-Netgear-router%E2%80%99S-fi...

What do you mean by capable operating? Is the speed of the Internet or wireless speed?

I can't get my VPN to work. It connects, but not change my IP address and allow me access to my network home.

    Here is my configuration:

Comcast - router in Bridge mode

    -Nighthawk R7500

-Macbook pro with tunnelblick (tried both viscosity)

I have a dynamic DNS, which has been well updated, I tried all the options VPN configurations (tcp, udp, auto, home network only, all the network domestic sites and internet, even made manual configurations in the vpn file to try to force something.)

The problem is; I can connect to the VPN server, but that's all. Nothing changes, I can't access my home network, my IP address does not change, I don't know what it is even made or connect to. I installed a dozen files configuration doing this, and one of the reasons why I bought this router was due to the VPN. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really want this VPN to work.

OK I thought about it. I went the subnet of my
Network servant 172.16.x.x and it works fine now.

  • On R7500/R7800 slow download speeds

    Hello:

R7500 and R7800: I see slow speeds (wireless). Wired devices do not exhibit this problem.

After that spend many hours of research and talking with support (which replaced my unit) I found that the problem is with the WAN port. The problem does not exist when you use a switch between the router and the modem netgear. I saw several people in the forums to have this problem so I hope this helps.

I don't think that this workaround is however acceptable.

Is this something that can be fixed with a firmware version?

Steps to reproduce in my case are very simple:

1 - R7500/R7800 connect to a POE Ubiquiti - 24 - 12 10/100 (in my case I have internet citiwide wireless). Make sure your download speed is greater than 20

2 - test the wireless and wired with the netgear router and the router netgear download speeds.

NETGEAR has released a new firmware for the R7800 that solved the problem (Fw 1.0.2.04)

  • R7500 use of bandwidth by the device and the application does not appear anything.

Hi, I am currently using a v1 R7500 and since Thursday, I have a problem with the use of bandwidth per device with 0Mbps of traffic for each device.

When I inspect the traffic on the page with chrome I get an infinite number of error at the rate of 1/s.

    Does anyone know a fix?

Factory reset and reflash the firmware

  • R7500 stuck to the network mode b/g on the 2.4 Ghz band

Using the Wifi Explorer on Mac, I see that my Netgear R7500 uses the network b/g on the 2.4 Ghz band Mode and is limited to a maximum rate of 54 Mbps - even if the Mode in the router configs setting lists b/g/n - as I see wifi weak performance on this channel. Sure it wasn't always like that. Amy ideas which could force the lower speed?

  • R7500 can't find my IP cam

    Hello

Since yesterday, I use a Nighthawk R7500 and I can plug my devices. One is not connected, an IP DB-power cam. When you are connected by cable I have setup the cam using the configuration and the server DHCP the SSID and password and all other people think necessary for Wifi. But I have no connection to the router.

Anyone know what I can do to get connected?

    Thank you

    Harvey

I found the problem. The chanal 2.4 Ghz has 12. I changed it to a lower value (4), and now the cam works.

  • Config of import R7000 to R7500

Can I export my config R7000 and import it on my R7500

Qualcomm 7500 - Broadcom 7000. I would say no. Better to copy / paste your config or make screen grabs of your config. Alternatively, try it!

  • R7500 cut connection

My R7500 cut internet access on wireless and wired device. The signal is always strong and showing connected but just do not have access to internet or apps or Web site. Need to wait about 1-2 minutes until that router reconnect itself. This problem happened about every hour. The network still work and I can access the files on the other computer or device through R7500. Just can not access the internet.

The firmware is the most recent.

  • R7500 Dynamic DNS - no ip - manage devices

    Hello

I had set up dynamic DNS using no. - ip (NETGEAR supplier - "*.") mynetgear.com') on my router R7000, before.

    Now, I changed to a R7500.

But my noip.com account still has the 'old' R7000 device under host / redirects-> manage devices.

And I can't seem to remove the R7000 and serial number. (and I don't have the R7000 no more).

The R7500 refused to apply the account settings for:

    Service provider: NETGEAR

    E-mail:

    Password:

    without any error message.

    I missed something?

    Thank you

    Hello

I can't remove the R7000 go in my list of devices (or at least, I can't find a delete option).

BUT after removing the hostname of my old camera AND delete the full host name subsequently (on noip.com), I could re-register the R7500 with my host name. So ultimately it works again!

Noip.com, on the R7000 is more listed as acive device, but it seems that I can't delete the old of my list.

  • Slow download speed of R7500 / HARD drive corruption

Hello: I bought a R7500 (the box indicated it was R7500v2, but inside, I found a R7500v1) n February 2016. I have about 60/60 (download/upload) when you have a wired connection, but WiFi I have only 50/10. I can understand a 10% drop, but not a drop from 60 to 10. I've searched the forums and did the following:
a.-j' tried different FW, no change
    b. - Factory reset, no change
    c. - Test using my computer laptop about 1 foot from the router, no luck
d - change channels - different speeds but no improvement.
    e. - enable/disable QoS. Enable/disable WMM
    f. - If I connect directly to the ethernet ports, I get the speed I should get.
g.-j' played with the wireless modes (up to 54, until 1733, etc), no luck.
    h. - I moved the router around the House, no luck.
    i. - I turned on QoS and assigned manually 60Mbps download and shipping, no luck.

Another problem with this router, it is that it corrupts the table to boot from the HARD drive after a few days (HFS +)

Anything else I should try? The unit is barely 90 days old.

    Thank you!

I found other posts with people having the same problem but no solution posted. Netgear support team replaced my unit (RMA). They were very helpful. This issue can be closed now.

  • My iPad keeps disconnecting my wifi network

My iPad 32 gigabit wifi with iOS 9.3.1 Pro keeps on disconnecting from my wifi network. From time to time I connect it disconnects just randomly and sometimes it makes me even to make the password again. I don't think it happens by other networks, but I don't know because I don't really bring my iPad too. Please help me fast! Thank YOU, a proud lover of Apple Inc..

This started to happen to me recently too, I have the iPad Pro for about a month. It may be the 9.3.1. Update. It's apparently only happening on my home network and my Netgear R7500 (the worst tech purchase I made) is notoriously bad on the network of 5 GHz because of the chip Quantenna barely supported, which was abandoned by Netgear, shortly after the release, and as soon as they could they have released a R7500v2 with another type of chip for the 5 GHz band.

So, I don't know who is to blame, it's probably a combination of both. I also have problems with this router and my Nexus 6 p, but apparently not with my other devices (iPad, iPod Touch gen mini retina 6, iPhone SE and Nexus devices). The difference with disconnects on the N6P is the phone disconnects and reconnects, the iPad Pro reconnect and exactly like you, sometimes it asks for the password again.

  • OfficeJet Pro K 550 dtn: HP OfficeJet Pro 550

I'm unable to access the built-in Web server for the printer. It is connected by Ethernet. The IP address is: 192.168.10.100. I typed in Firefox, Chrome, and IE. The page times out. I tried USB, tried through the router and tried directly via a crossover ethernet cable. I tried from a Windows 7 machine and Windows 10 machines. It started when I upgraded to a router Netgear R7500 Nighthawk. It uses an IP address of 192.168.1.1 I think I need to enter the printer to assign it a static IP address in the range of the router. Any suggestion would be appreciated. The manual of the printer indicates that it can be done from the installation disc. Unfortunately, the drive doesn't support any OS after XP. Disk empty out as soon as she sees a newer OS.

If you can print through the old router, you should be able to access the built-in Web printer. Once there, set the printer to get an automatic IP address. If there is an option to restore the default settings of the network, do the same.

Once this is done, you should be able to connect the printer to the new router. If the printer will still not connect correctly, and then on the network, open all ports, enable multicast and disable filtering MAC/cloning. In addition, if the router is broadcasting a network invited, disable it. The guest network will not affect the printer as it is wired, but if your computers are on a network of comments so they will not be able to communicate with the printer.

Please let me know if this allows you to print.

  • The R7000 there Quantenna 5 GHz battery drain issue or has it been fixed?

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my WiFi router and I considered the R7000, but do want to not buy a router that drains the battery of my phone when it is connected to the 5 GHz channel and can't see any point in the upgrade if I end up having to stick to the 2.4 GHz I already have.

I have known the issue recently, when connected to new TalkTalks router (from Huawai) and got tired of waking up to a phone dead every morning.

I did a little research on Google and found that pilots Quantenna lacked support for negotaition powersaving to 5 GHz if this problem has been fixed. So far, I only found a reference to the R7500 having this problem. If anyone knows if the firmware has been updated to fix the powersaving?

    Thank you

The R7000 relies entirely on the Broadcom and don't use all Quantenna chips.

  • ReadyShare on Windows 7

Right, well, I want to install readyshare Vault on my win7 pc, but she can't even find my router R7500. (configured as an access point).

My laptop Win10 has no problem with her...

I closed the firewall, software antiviri, defender of the lot. But still no go on the setup of the vault software.

where can I find this problem?

Hello, Yes, I managed to solve this problem. the only thing I did was to give the windosw 7 static dns 8.8.8.8 pc and then reinstall the program. After he found the dtive on the router I have reset automatic dns from the router and it has been able to keep the parameters of the vault.

very strange if you ask me cos the vault is on the LAN but apperntly it try to find it not by ip address but by dns name, and if you have dns on your pc set to auto, it gives you the dns provider and gateway of routers.

    problem solved!

  • How to install readyshares in kodi?

Hi, this is my configuration, r7500 with the usb storage device connected to it, on the same network I have an android runnning kodi decoder, I can't understand how to add this drive part ready to kodi, http connects but not opening inside kodi no files appear.

on my pc, I know how to connect via \\readyshare, but how to access the \\readyshare kodi? is \\readyshare nfs, ftp, smb?

It should go something like this:

Videos > files > add videos > Browse > Windows (smb) network > workgroup > Readyshare > T Drive (in my case) > OK and then you can name the disc and put your info of scrapers. After that, you should be able to go back to files and see the drive Readyshare it. That's what I did anyway.
