  Hi guys,.

  I recently bought a Satellite A300-1HV, and while that in the store, the salesman showed me it was possible to turn off the light behind the function/media at the top of the keyboard buttons. It seems to do by simply pressing the first button (the mute button).

  When I got home I tried several times, and he did in fact machine do what I expected (i.e. off lighting). The manual describes the first button under the button "Mute or LED power. Later that night, I tried the button again once, but this time it acted as a mute button and either turns off the lighting. I guess this would allow me to set up manually a program runs when I press one of two buttons, but no matter what I ask it to run, it does nothing.

  It's as if there is a piece of software that should be run, leading the keys, that I do not have (or at least no longer have).

  I just bought a brand new toshiba a300-1hv and wanted to know if the noise im hearing is normal.

  I hear a noise, but I can't explain it, is not the fan, but it's a continuous noise and I hear a little, but when I put my ear close to the laptop I can hear it clearly. Its abit like a mosquito noise.

  Hi I just finished a manual install Vista on my A300-1HV. Using the command I had in another post, all the drivers and the utils installed ok.
