Read Calibration expiration with Labview

Hello everyone,

I found a way to read the configuration of my PXI-1044.  I would read the section external calibration of the Calibration tab in MAX for my PXI-5114 and PXI-4065 (last calibrated and recommended the next Dates of calibration) using Labview to read.  The preferred format, I'm looking is similar to the configuration of my PXI-1044 which retrieves data in a format delimited by tabs.  Thanks in advance for any information that can throw this forum on this topic.

Kind regards

Scott

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your most recent reply.

Thanks for the vi.  I tried on one of the systems and other that it could not find the Initialize.vi, I replaced with one that is the measure of e/s > System Configuration, it will do the job and data retrieval will not be a problem.

Many thanks for your efforts to help me better understand this particular function and please pass the file.  I consider this closed post.

Kind regards

Scott

  • Read file test.txt (binary or what?) with LabVIEW 8.6

    Dear friends!

Please, how to read the attached file (test.txt) with LabVIEW 8.6.  In the same VI, can I convert it in a txt file real with the results presented in the rows and columns? Please, any idea? I need help!

The rebooting of the trace file is binary.

Unfortunately, without a description of the real file by developers RELAP format, I don't think you are going to get very far on the decoding of the file.

You must get directly in contact with the authors RELAP.

Here's the blurb to the RELAP Manual:

    3.1.4.2 the reboot-Plot file.

The restart-trace file contains almost all the parameters of calculation

(Sub fractions, pressures, temperatures, flow rates, etc.) for transient computing together.

A common misconception is that a parameter must be specified using a minor in change request

in order to be available in the reboot-trace file when the calculation is complete. Affects a minor change request

only the printed output. The restart-trace file is accessible repeatedly that the new data should arise. However,.

during a calculation, the data are written to the reboot-trace only for minor editing file (and the plot point)

frequency. Once a calculation has been performed, it is not possible to recover data between data

written to the file to restart-track of the points. Therefore, it is important to choose a minor edit (and plot the point)

frequency that provides the plot to an interval appropriate to the problem is resolved. In practice,.

the minor change (and plot point) frequency must be changed during the calculation as the product of the problem

from one phase to the other. Common points must be selected in the phases of problem where rapid

    RELAP5-3D/2.4

    INEEL-EXT-98-00834-V5 3-18

setting changes are expected. For the economy, less common points must be selected in the phases

where the conditions of rest are expected.

Calculations are usually made using several reboots. (See Volume II for the restart entry

requirements.) For example, a new problem runs from 0 to 10 seconds. This first part is analyzed and

Run again from time zero that errors will be corrected. When a managed to 10 seconds has been calculated, a

restart run is made (for example, 10 to 30 seconds), and so on. RELAP5-3D

© offers you the possibility of

change of almost any feature of the model at any point of restart. When changes to the model are incorporated on

reboot, reboot-plot file reflects those changes only after the decimal point in the calculation, where they have been

implementation. In the example above, if an injection system is added to the model to 10 seconds, then data

for added components exists only for the time after 10 seconds. Changes, deletions and additions of model

are constantly being implemented. If a model change is done in 10 seconds, the revised model remains in

effect unless other changes are made to subsequent restart points.

When a calculation is completed, the restart-trace file becomes a valuable document of the

calculation. If lost, replacement would require reperforming the calculation, usually to the considerable

loads. At a later date, the file can be accessed and previously compressed data can be obtained as

necessary to extend the analysis. Therefore, it is recommended that files of restart-track of the important calculations

    be protected safely and permanently.

  • Signal Express version unknown problem with Labview VI

    Hi all

I am trying to run 2010 Labview Signal Express VI. It gives me "unknown version" problem. When I checked for Labview versions, he said 10.0f2 and Signal Express can read the version of LabView 2010. I don't understand this. 10.0f2 is not just a patch for version 10.0? I will appreciate if someone can help me with this.

    Hi Kanu,

I tried to write a simple VI and its importation to the Express Signal and I have not had any problems. I use 32-bit LV2010f2 and Signal Express 2010. I have attached the VI I used so that you can try it yourself. I followed the instructions of this KB to create a distribution of the source file. If you follow this KB and still can't make it work, can you please post the VI?

  • Read power meter in LabVIEW via RS-232/RS-485

    Hello!

I have a power meter, an advanced WM14 DIN power Analyzer. I want to display different values, Kwh, WILL, etc. Kvar, the meter in the graphs in labview. I have just a basic knowledge of Modbus RTU and with RS-232 connection. But I don't know how to make it work with labview. To my counter, I plugged a converter Moxa TCC-100 (see attachments) RS - 485 to RS-232, given that my electricity meter works only with RS-485.

The converter, I have an adapter usb to RS - 232 (see attachment) to COM3 on my PC.

Perhaps the easiest way would have been the connection directly http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/sv/nid/12845 . But I have not bought!

So now you know the configuration of the connection, drivers for the usb adapter is installed and also VISA drivers. I found no good examples explaining how you can do with programs and data sending and reciving.

I have google around and discovered that you use read/write VISA blocks, and that there is a library, Modbus, you could use. I installed the library, but I don't know how to connect with my electricity meter.

I have a communication protocol to my electricity meter, but I don't know how to use it.

I'm a little stuck and don't really know where to start. But my understanding of modbus, such things should be easy to do, so I think that's not too difficult to learn.

Is there anyone who could explain how these work thing or if there is something I could read or see?

    Best regards Maurlind

  • Time CONTROL of filterwhell fw102 thorlabs with labview

    Hello

I just started with labview. I want to create a sequence for the filterwheel, so that the weel change of position after a defined period and all the filters are passed through.

the problem is, that there are different sub-vis, but I don't know which to use. they are called "fw102x arrive in time", "get off time", "get time", "set time," "set off time" or "set the reading interval.

    Help, please!

  • RS-232 via TCP/IP with LabView

    Hello

I have currently a standard equipment is read through a RS232 converter TCP/IP hardware.

On the computer with labview, I use a third-party serial port virtual that data reads the TCP/IP and converts this COM port data pack

I then read the port COM normally with VISA.

I would like to remove the third-party TCP/IP software RS232 and LabView read the TCP/IP port and convert to series.

    How could do?

    More details about the hardware and the 3rd party software;

    thydzik.com/Monitor-cms2000-Inverter-via-tcpip-usr-tcp232-E4-rs232ip-Convertor/

    More information on labview here code;

    thydzik.com/log-Solar-generated-to-pvoutput-with-LabVIEW/

I don't think it's as complicated as you seem to expect. Try the VISA TCP approach. Create a resource of VISA TCP, in raw mode, as explained in the white paper. Take your existing code, replace the COM resource with the new TCP one, remove the configuration of the port series, and it might work. Make sure to close the resource when you stop the program.

If you want to go with the TCP functions, look at the examples. You open a connection, read and write strings in it, exactly as you would with a serial port and close it when you are finished.

  • Get incremental counter/sound to work along side with action with usb-6008 with labview tia sal22

Get incremental counter/sound to work along the coast with usb-6008 with labview tia sal22

    Hi all

I can get this vi to work if they are distinct from the vi but I can't join them together

    Example of my error:

If buffers are set to 0 the freq counter increment works, but no sound
If the buffers are set to 1 the audio works fine but is not increment the Freq counter
If the buffers are attached to more 1 clicks and pops are coming

    That's what I'm doing:
    (1) have the frequency of increment of my internal sound card to a certain level as .01hz a second until he gets to 20 000 hz

    (2) use my device usb-6008 daq, which is connected to the same machine to measure the voltage at the same time. (I am in a position very low voltages between 1-5volts)

    (3) output to a worksheet text file which will show you:

    time in seconds, frequency, voltage
    0,400.01,2

    1,400.02,2.5

    2,400.03,1

I'm a bit confused about how connect the increment and the audio during the measurements with the usb-6008 housing on the same machine
at the same time and in the same VI.

Anyone have any ideas?  I'm using labview 8.5
    TIA sal22

Ha ha you have been deceived by a dynamic thread. Insert a convert from Dynamic Data Express VI (Palette to own: Signal handling screw Express) between the daq read and build the array function. Then it won't work. Now the value in the dynamic data is only converted to a numeric value

  • Trouble with USB-6501 with Labview 8.6 Pro for Mac OS

    Hello

I have a unit USB-6501 I try to use with Labview 8.6 for Mac Pro to processor intel.

I have the driver NOR-DAQmx base 3.2 for Mac installed and when I ran "Isdaq", it detects the device and also warned that the firmware needs to be updated. So, I ran the "FWUpdate" for updating the firmware. I double check the Isdaq and it detects the device as "NI USB-6501:"Dev1"(USB0::0x3923:0x718A:014386 B 0: RAW).

Now, when I run Labview 8.6 and DAQmx Base create channel VI and the port of 'physical' wire to the control, nothing appears in the available device.

Also, when I run the mxbaseconfig program, not the existing basic tasks detect the device.

Could someone please help me get this to work? Basically, I need to read and write slow digital data through USB-6501. But, the Labview does not detect the device.

    Thank you

    Keong,

I do not know what causes this, but place a task create VI before your code and the wire of the output task to the task of entering the chain and try to run that.  Please let me know if it works for you.

  • Can what cards I use to develop communication SPI with Labview?

First of all, I'm an intern is currently working on a project that involves communication with an SPI interface. I have absolutely no experience with SPI, but I finally decided to try. I work for about 6 months with labview and understand the function of basis of a large number of its resources.

    The problem:

We want to connect Labview to an evaluation Committee that is connected to the PC via USB (but it can also be adapted to connect through SPI). The evaluation board mainly reads and writes if sign up for issuers that are connected to it by a Module assessment. The program which is already which is the Studio of SmartRF (that works via USB), but as we want to link all the functions in Labview we redevelop a platform to do so. If shortly, we want to make a Studio of SmartRF version in Labview. We want to be able to get all the information that makes the program and others... and all this is possible through SPI.

Here is a link in case you are interested what is SmartRF Studio: SmartRF Studio link

My question is which card do you recommend for what we are trying to accomplish? We are looking for something not very expensive but who fail to meet our requirements.

I think of the NI USB 8451, but please make suggestions.

Thanks a lot in advance and please stay tuned to my many questions coming about how to accomplish this enormous task with no knowledge whatsoever of SPI or how to mix with Labview only one student. I am reading as much as I can find, so all the links will also be very much appreciated. If anyone has any experience with NI USB 8451 with Labview be kind enough to guide me

    Sincerely,

    Gisela

If you have very little experience with LabVIEW and SPI, the 8451 is a good choice. It's expensive, but it's really easy to use and configure.

The Aardvark is also a good choice. There pilots LabVIEW is also easy to use in LabVIEW. The disadvantages is that it doesn't have a lot outside of simply making SPI or I2C - in other words, it doesn't have a lot of GPIO. This can be important when control of multiple SPI devices, because it requires to select them lines individual slave.

Dinah is really more than a product of laboratory, or something that is meant to be placed inside a camera. It is expensive, compared to the other two, but it doesn't have native drivers in LabVIEW. On the contrary, it comes with a DLL you can call from LabVIEW. I wrote a set of LabVIEW drivers for it, but I can't distribute.

There are other products on the market, which some will resemble a device series to your computer. For example, you would use VISA to communicate with the SPI controller, and it would appropriate communication of SPI.

Among the three mentioned here, I would suggest that you go with the neither of the Aardvark, one.

  • Raspberry PI connected with usb for laptop with Labview

    Hello

Please allow me to introduce myself: my name is Bob and I just graduated from the Bachelor of applied science (Physics), in the Netherlands. In education, I followed a course of programming in Labview. However, the course was not very well if I want to start from scratch. (my programming skills are very poor).

My goal is to learn the basics of programming in Labview. I want to measure the temperature with a probe for example and read this in Labview. I need a data acquisition for this system. I have a raspberry PI in my possession and I was wondering if I could use it to read the temperature from the USB port of my laptop using the PI raspberry. Is this possible? And I have to run some sort of program on the raspberry PI? Or I could better use another device (Arduino maybe?).

I hope someone could help me to help me get started with Labview. I'm looking forward to learn how to work with Labview and launch a few projects.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

Are you comfortable with writing code on the invoice, pro forma raspberry? This is where you write the code for the acquisition of data and code to send it on the usb as a RS232 serial port. The LabVIEW program would receive all this and it is a very simple program. There is a tool called Linx box that does all this for the arduino.
