Recognize the remains of alarms on the host

Hello

I have problems with alarms in vcenter which I did not have a good solution for. Let's host a memory use and it esxceed´s the threshold in this case 90%. it triggers the alarm and make a triangle of warning on the host.

I acknowledge the alarm and set in motion of virtual machines from the host to get the memory usage threshold. Now the host have 88% memory usage and the alarm has been removed since yesterday but still remain as a warning on the host?  any thoughts?

Concerning

Christer S

The alarm is always a warning or if it is degraded to a warning?

If possible, you can also try to restart the service of vCenter - usually you can do during the day (if there is no vCloud / view based on it) or you can do in a maintenance window if you're worried.

  • PowerCLI: Enable / disable alarm on the hosts Actions / clusters

    Hi all

I did some serious research on Google and am about to accept that it is not possible through PowerCLI.

But I wanted to make a last effort by asking you guys.

For the ESXi host interview, I want to use a PowerCLI script that does this:

    1. -Disable alarm on Cluster actions
    2. -Disable alarm on the hosts actions

    3. -maintenance (can be anything, but will include the host reboots)

    4. -turn on the alarm of the actions on the hosts
    5. -activate the alarm actions on Cluster

Because we have 300 + hosst ESXi, you can imagine that I want to cela scripted.

Is it possible to toggle alarm actions via PowerCLI?

    Thank you and best regards,

    Harold

OK, it seems we are talking about two different things.

What you want to do can be done from a script PowerCLI.

    Something like that

    $alarmMgr = Get-View AlarmManager $cluster = Get-Cluster MyCluster # To disable alarm actions $alarmMgr.EnableAlarmActions($cluster.Extensiondata.MoRef,$false)

    # To enable alarm actions $alarmMgr.EnableAlarmActions($cluster.Extensiondata.MoRef,$true)

The same can be done for a host ESX (i)

    $alarmMgr = Get-View AlarmManager $esx = Get-VMHost MyEsx

    # To disable alarm actions $alarmMgr.EnableAlarmActions($esx.Extensiondata.MoRef,$false)

    # To enable alarm actions $alarmMgr.EnableAlarmActions($esx.Extensiondata.MoRef,$true)

    Sorry for the confusion

  • I can't Thunderbird to recognize the password for the gmail account, that I am trying to add.

I am trying to add a gmail account to Thunderbird that already hosts several gmail accounts. No matter what I do, I can't recognize the password in Thunderbird. I admit, I was wrong a few times, but I got the right one, and it was typed in perfectly several times, as well as copy and paste. The password worked well to log on to the account directly, but not in Thunderbird. I tried to change the password, and that doesn't work anymore. I tried to add this account in Windows and Ubuntu 14.04 8.1, and the results were the same. In Ubuntu, I tried adding add another account that I needed, and which took place without a hitch. The only thing I can think is the address that I am trying to add is linked to an email address for a Web site being transferred to me which is hosted by Yahoo and his business correspondence. I tried to add the account yahoo directly, but I add the same problems with passwords, but I suspect that most of you know that it's because Yahoo is simply suck more to try to become irrelevant.

I can't believe how quickly you help on this forum, a few seconds, you guys solved the problem and the account has been added with any other questions. People on this forum rock!

Now I'm beginning to suspect that he indeed had to do with this first batch of bad passwords.

  • Satellite R630 - 11L - sometimes did not recognize the SSD drive

    Hi all

I have a portable Satellite R630 - 11L and I just bought a Corsair F120 SSD for her, but my laptop a few times did not recognize the SSD drive and fails to start occurs. I searched on the Internet concerning the issue, but there are any topic related to my problem. in recent days, I have updated my bios but the problem remains. for example if I put the computer to sleep and he never wake ups as it should be. the blue windows screen 7 failure comes and an error message 'could not access the windows volume. If portable succesful started without problem occurs until I reeboot the computer. so most of the time I have to restart computer about 5 - 6 times to work normal. At the same time, I opened a topic on the corsair website. They told me to test my drive on another computer, so I test it on laptops, dell and hp to my friends, but there is no any problem don't like this.

So I test my ssd on an another toshiba laptop R630 which has a different hardware configurations, the problem remains that laptop too...

So I think toshiba may provide a bios update to fix this problem. This laptop really great, so I don't want to buy another.

y at - it advice to solve this problem?

    concerning

    Hi machka,.

    > I think that here is the toshiba support forum. is not here?
Here he s a Toshiba forum, that of right, but you can only chat with normal users like you and me. You will not find someone from Toshiba here.
The forum is provided Toshiba but for Toshiba users to exchange experience on different products.

So I think that the Quad is just. No one can say that every SSD is compatible with all computers. You need to understand this!
There are hundreds of different players and computers on the market and I m sure that no one can test a new computer with all SSD on the market. This is not possible, because it takes a lot of time and more expensive laptops that I think.

So if the SSD doesn't work, there is nothing that you can wait for the BIOS update.
Otherwise, you must purchase another SSD. Alternatively, you can ask a service provider allowed in your country, maybe that technicians have already experience with some SSD in Satellite R630. Just ask for that, they are the first contact for you! :)

  • Satellite L50D-B-12W does not recognize the Integrated GPU

    Hello

    I recently bought a laptop Satellite L50D-B-12W.

The laptop comes from Italy and im from Spain, but the stock windows installed from the factory was in English.
I change windows stocks for a Spanish 8.1 for Windows Pro 64-bit and the problem starts here.

This medication works well, except the built-in graphics card.
The laptop tells me what the model is AMD APU A6-6310 with graphic AMD Radeon R4 card.

Initially I download graphics drivers web support AMD APU.
I installed and recognizes the cpu but not the graphics card (remaining with the VGA in Windows standard) for videos HD plays with cuts and slowly.

Then I download the autopilots downloand shape AMD and the program downloads the APU A6 drivers but the problem is the same.

I try with Windows 7 64 bit also, but I can't seem to recognize the integrated graphics card.

    Please, can someone help me?
What are the correct drivers I need to download?

    Hello

The Satellite L50D-B-12W was not equipped with a dedicated (external) graphics chip
The L50D-B-12W Satellite was equipped with rolande A6-6310 AMD processor supporting internal graphic unit Radeon R4. This GPU is just a part of the AMD CPUS.
The graphics AMD compatible driver is already listed on the page of the Toshiba UE driver under:

    -Laptop
    -Satellite
    -Satellite L series
    -L50D-B satellite
    -PSKULE
    -8.1 Windows

  • Qosmio G does not recognize the mouse using two left USB ports

I'm right handed so I naturally put my optical mouse Saitec in the port of the right hand.

The other day I plugged it in the ports of the two left hand and the machine did not recognize the mouse.
He went through the process of installing the drivers (even if it was done a few weeks ago, when I plugged in the port of the right hand)

In any case the mouse doesn't at all plugged into ports on the left side.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why what is happening?
    Look of Sean.

    Hello

Have you tested the two left with other USB devices USB ports. That is to say USB flash stick?
Maybe you should do this to see if it could be a defective USP port.

    But I recommend to test this;
    First disconnect all USB devices
Then go into the Device Manager and all the USB host controller and hubs USB remove from the list of devices.
Close all windows and restart the laptop.

Finally the operating system should recognize the new devices (USB ports) again.
Connect a USB device to one of the ports on the left and check if it would work.

    Good bye

PS: What Qosmio do you have?

  • 24 v digital signal of the event from the host to the fpga power on/off

    Hello forums or

    Sheet material

    cRIO-9074

module or 9472 digital module 24 V output c series

To expand on the topic described,

I want to be able send a trigger to alarm the fpga digital 9472 out that lasts 30 seconds using the operating system time real clock time on the host computer

The way I approached this problem is that

In the loop where the event occurs, if the event trigger is defined then the fgv has a time stamp when the event occurred is sent.

In the loop that communicates with the control of fpga, I write to the control based on the condition that the difference of the current time checked and fgv time is 30 seconds or less, then it will send the value true, otherwise send fake and wait for the next occurrence of the event.

The main problem after implementation of this is that 9472 led does not turn off when the false value is sent to it.

    cordially Mzamanstl

Timer Keeper SD is a FGV so that it is written for her, once the event occurs

So if the event occurs so timestamp is stored and then the difference of the timestamp result is<30>

then a true value will be sent to the module of 9472

So basically I want the light and I want to do the 24 v output for 30 seconds then turn off and wait for the next occurrence

I think the method that I test it with is not very good, because I realize other factors that may contribute to this problem, so I think I found another way to test

and I will try it but its will take time.

  • Data entry on the host VI without FIFO Massive?

    Hi guys,.

First post on the boards and about two weeks in LV in time real/FPGA so be gentle!

I'm data capture of a system using a CRio 9082 and Converter A/D NI9215. The FPGA vi runs a timed loop (10 US or 100kS/s) that pulls in the data and sends them to a target-to-Host DMA FIFO (4096 long, single precision). Since I want to synchronize data for a TTL output, the FPGA also sends a True/False value through a port DIO (NI9402). So, for example, if I want a TTL of 100 Hz pulse and time of the loop is 10 US, then a complete cycle of TTL will last 1000 loops with the half cycle lasts 500 loops. Both the position in the LIFE cycle (0-1000) and the acquired data to that position in the cycle are intertwined in the FIFO. I have attached a picture of the VI.

The host vi simply reads the values of the FIFO, decimating the interlaced output and stores the data in a table for later processing. I have also attached a picture of the host vi. The problem is that the data acquisition time could be as high as 10 seconds, which would mean that the FIFO host-side would be long 2 million items!

SO my question is how to change the host vi so that rather than wait as the FIFO side host to be filled, its size can be reduced and yet not lose data points in the table fill? One can rightly wonder why I did things like that, but I found that fill a massive FIFO ensures that I do not lose the continuous position TTL data, but then I thought it was totally ineffective and some sage advice is necessary!

    Thank you!!

My advice would be to do the following:

    (1) configure FIFO depth to be quite large not to overflow during a regular operation, but don't try to configure it to keep your entire dataset in a single shot.

    (2) If you send only the integers to the FIFO, do not configure it for double rooms.

    (3) instead of voting for a whole dataset, you can read the smaller packets of the target and build them together on the host. Pop, a delay in your in a loop to read each 10/100 ms, 0 items via a FIFO Read, out of the remaining elements of wireless node to the number of items in a FIFO read node entry. It will take all that is in the FIFO at this stage. Using a registry to offset, concatenate the table with table of the previous iteration and stop all loop when the length of the array reaches the number wanted items.

You might need to play to ensure that the order of the data in the FIFO is not flipped depending on when you start and stop acquisition, but at least it's a start.

  • cRIO-9114 don't reset the host.vi programming interface

Hi, I use Labview 2009 with a target FPGA 9114 cRio controlled from a host PC.

Host opens the target FPGA (open FPGA vi reference) and then executes a loop to write output voltages via the FPGA - target.vi in an analout 9264 module. Works very well.

When the loop in the host.vi is stopped, I tried that reset just as method of FPGA interface outside the loop to restore the default values defined in the FPGA - target.vi the analog output voltages. However, the values are not reset, but remain at the last value in the loop.

The only thing that works is by using the method of interface FPGA download instead of resetting one after execution of the loop.

Any ideas why the reset function and/or stop does not work?

    Thank you very much!

Can you post your code? I guess that the analog value is never sent when you stop. The program closes faster than analog writing. That would be my guess based on the way you have described.

  • If I enable security on an ad hoc network, my Windows 7 client cannot recognize the network at all.

XP host and client windows 7 on ad - hoc network...
Dear friends, I have set up an ad hoc network between two laptops. The host is running on xp sp3 and the client is running windows 7.
Now the problem is that if I enable security on the network, the client windows 7 cannot recognize the network at all.
If I turn off security on the network ad-hoc, everything works fine and I can share files and access the internet on client... Please help

    Ok

Now, I'm pretty sure that I understand your game up. Well done to get the internet connection, sharing of work (not a simple process) but without encryption.

I am sure that the problem lies in the Windows 7 laptop (laptop 2). When you switch cell 1 to WEP, you must also pass portable 2 to WEP and provide the WEP key you have configured with laptop 1.

It's getting late here now, but I'll try to answer tomorrow after I have test it on my two laptops to Windows 7. In the meantime maybe I can point you in the right direction...

    • Right-click the the small icon at the bottom right of your screen on laptop network 2 and then click on Open Network and Sharing Center
    • In network and sharing Center, click on manage networks wireless (nearby at the top left)
    • Click Add, and follow the wizard to create an ad hoc network, selecting WEP and providing the encryption key you configured on the notebook 1
    • Save the network so that you do not have to repeat this procedure.

Otherwise, when you get to manage wireless networks, if your ad hoc network is already listed...

    • Right-click in your ad hoc network, and then click Properties
    • Click the Security tab
    • Change it to WEP and provide the encryption key
    • Click OK

Good luck, I will pick up this new after my drowsiness.

  • How to make a shared variable, which is an update on the host channel?

    Hi all

I'm relatively new to LabVIEW, so I apologize in advance.  I'm working on a vision for research application and I'm trying to convey an image of the smart camera target to the host.  I flattened the IMAQ image to a string and pass the string to a shared variable.  On the end of the host, I unflatten image and try to post to see if I don't really get the image data on the host.  However, it only displays the first image and after that the image is not updated.  In addition, the shared variable itself is not up-to-date.  I have a loop timed on the target and a loop of simulation on the host.  Help or direction would be appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

I thought about it and will post here just in case it might help someone else.  For some reason, the IMAQ flatten channel gives a format that did not like the unflatten of the chain.  When I have no flat chain, it didn't recognize it as an image.  Instead, I just used the generic flatten the string on the target and then block when I have not flattened image on the host computer, I had to only give the guy I got to report the allocation of memory IMAQ.  Maybe I'm just slow, but if this helps someone else, fine.  Thanks again.

  • XP does not recognize the DVD after burning them.

I have a Pioneer DVD - RW DVR - 110 d. When I restart XP and open Windows Explorer recognizes the drive as a DVD one. But for some strange reason, when I insert a prerecorded DVD, Windows Explorer changes the designation of my drive as a CD drive and will not read my drive. It remains this way until I have restart XP. I can burn to DVD, but when it comes to their reading it won't. I thought that maybe there was some kind of hardware/software conflict, but even Mr. finest he could not find the problem. Short of re-installing XP, I don't no what else to do. All the suggestions/help? Thank you.

When burning DVD on Windows XP, you may need the Microsoft patch available through this article:

In addition, this optical drive DVR - 110 d, also known by the Pioneer DVR-610 and the DVR-R100, has a firmware update available in the support web page Pioneer DVD computer writers .  There is updated firmware in question and a program to detect the current level of firmware.  There is a list of compatibility of optical media available in the documents and an overview of the drive section.  Note: you can often see drive firmware level in the chain of identification of device in the Device Manager.

  • New installation of XP PRO sp3 does not recognize the 500 GB HD

    OK, here are the details:

System: Computer PORTABLE of Acer Aspire 1700 Pent4, 2 GB of RAM, 80GB (3.5 "full-size, trainee) IDE HD [this is the original HD on this laptop of size important which is designed to use disks 3.5" hard].

Initial situation: Windows XP Pro (SP3 integrated) installed on HDD of 80 GB and works without poblems. BIOS does NOT show the ability of the intern HD in the BIOS screen. BIOS reports only the model and the serial number of the HD, and there is no options to specify the HD type/format (e.g., MLA, etc.)

Available: Win XP Pro bootable CD slipstreamed with SP3; It is tested and verified work well to install PC or laptop!

When running XP Pro on a partition internal 80 GB HD, and when I join a brand new WD 500 GB IDE HD via USB, HD is recognized correctly. I can partition and copy data on the HD 500 GB with no problems!

When I replaced the old 80 GB HD with the new HD 500 GB HD interning on the laptop, I have the following problems:

    1. I can NOT boot into Windows XP Pro (SP3) which was Ghost on the HD 500 GB of the old 80 GB portable HD it recharges, and if I try the console recovery or secure boot, then the laptop restarts also.
1B. I have Ghost xp partition to 80 GB HD to a piece of spare HD (40 GB) and replaced the 80 GB with the 40 GB HD and was able to start the laptop without problem. So the problem is NOT related ghost!

    2. I can't perform a clean install of Windows XP Pro (SP3 integrated) because Windows XP Setup recognizes the HD 500 GB GB 131 HD. Therefore, the remaining capacity is not recognized.

    3. I can NOT perform the installation of Windows XP pro (SP3 integrated), even if I have previously partition new HD 500 GB by attaching it to a free desktop PC and use Partition Magic, partitioner of Paragon Disk or other partitioning tools. After partitioning prior, when the 500 GB HD is installed on the laptop (as a trainee HD), then win xp installation lists quality HD of GB 131 and lists the existing partitions as corrupt!

    4. Curiously, if I use Knoppix, Debian, Ubuntu or linux boot CD Mint and start the laptop computer with one of these linux distributions, then the linux installer recognize the HD properly during the phase of recognition of material and later during the phase partitioning HD, the linux system to report a full capacity of 500 GB available for partitioning. In addition, when there are partitions, partitioning linux program then lists these partitions properly as well!

Considering the 4 points and especially MS Windows XP PRO (integrated with SP3, which should recognize HD with sizes exceeding 137 GB limit - from MS says you must be at least XP SP1 to overcome the size 137 GB limit - and that the different distributions of linux can see the full-size HD 500 GB with no problems) which is exactly the problem with Win XP? Why it does not recognize the full capacity? And how to win xp recognizes a 500 GB capacity, if the new HD is attached to the laptop via USB as an external drive when running XP PRO (SP3) of the 80 GB internal HD?

so... Can anyone sheds light on the issue with Win XP Pro installation on HD 500 GB IDE?

    Nicely,

    LO

    Hi Palcouk and Doc,

I think that's the final answer!

Although, there is a mixture of simple to complex responses to the problem at hand, what it all comes down is that there is a significant difference between the installation of Windows XP and Linux installer program. The XP installation program needs help from the BIOS to deal with HD, and if the BIOS does not support, XP not has no facility to remedy the situation. OTOH, most of Linux new kernels rely on the BIOS for a limited number of extended, but communicate directly with the hardware, in this case, with the HD and therefore manages the material accordingly.

It seems among users of dual-booting (win/linux) using old PCs, it is a matter of very pretty. What they end up doing is using the first 137 GB that is seen by the BIOS without problem for XP (either as a single partition or divided into several partitions), and the rest of the space is used for Linux because linux has no problem.

I guess that it really nails the problem with my laptop to a BIOS NON-lba-48-bit!

Then close this thread as answered or matter who has more to say about this?

    LO

P.S.: It was very nice meeting you fellows and appreciate all the help and tech expertise.
