Reconfigure the UAC

I can't communicate with my printer. Technical support Lexmark says it's a security for Windows Vista that blocks. The UAC must be reconfigured. What should I do?

Hello

See the guide on the link below to disable the UAC in Vista.

    Hello Dan

Why do you think something like this is possible? What is this described in s operating manuals.
If something like this can be done, it must be described in the manuals?

In 10 years Toshiba has offered several different notebooks with the remote, but something like this was never possible and remote control buttons were always with defined function.
You have some really cool ideas.

  • Qosmio G40 - how to reconfigure the keys above the keyboard?

Since the upgrade to Windows7, the buttons on the top of my G40 (TV, multimedia, Rec, Dolby, etc) don't work anymore. When I click on one, a pop-up window appears asking me to set up the button.

Now, I've changed a single button to task wrong.

    Hello

I think that you don t have to reconfigure the keys, you just need new version of Toshiba Value added Package which controls the multimedia keys.

I checked the website of Toshiba Qosmio G40 and Windows 7 and there is a newer version that is compatible with Windows 7:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

It seems the newer version 1.2.40

  • Reconfigure the connection Wireless on Satellite M160

My wireless seems to have gone wrong somehow. The computer will not pick up or connect to my network. Is there a way I can reconfigure the connection?

    Hello

Of course, you can reconfigure the WLan settings.
First of all, I would recommend resetting the router Wlan. Check the settings of WiFi, filtering by mac address, SSID name encryption.

How have you tried to connect to the Wlan? Did you use the 3rd party Wlan client configuration tool (Intel, Atheros) or did you use the Wlan configuration option to own Windows?

If you use a 3rd party client WLan configuration tool, then the windows own option should be disabled.
I recommend to go through all the settings (encryption key, ssid) and please check if everything is good.

By the way; Please don t forget to activate the wireless on your laptop network card ;)
The switch on the side of the laptop must be turned on, and you should switch to WLan using FN + F8 key combination.

  • Disable the UAC in VISTA window

    Hello

How to disable UAC in Windows Vista using LabVIEW Control window?

I did this VI (see attached). This VI works, if I have manually disabled the UAC window (regedit: "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System - EnableLUA = 0 [DWORD]) of the control panel or regedit.

If I run my VI on a computer that has ON UAC, I can't open the registry key. Although, if I manually go to regedit and
change the variable windows EnableLUA to zero and restart the computer.
Then, I'll be able to control this LabVIEW registry key.

    Is
It's kind around to disable UAC only with LabVIEW. This means,
is it possible to change the EnableLUA variable Windows when I
    previously, I have UAC running?

    Thank you

    Hi JPLO,

If you run your VI as long as limited or in admin approval mode user, I expect not to be able to disable admin approval mode. Try right-clicking on the LabVIEW icon in the Start Menu and select "run as Administrator" and then run your VI.

I need to reconfigure the network wireless repeated now.  Internet connection drops and I re - check the box 'use windows to configure wireless network. "  Why this keep happening?

Provide more information, including the version and service pack of Windows, the brand and model of your computer and the make and model of your wireless adapter.

In the meantime, however, your description sounds as if you have a utility provided by the manufacturer of your computer by the manufacturer of your wireless card which is competing with Windows for control of your adapter.  You must choose one or the other; You can't have both at the same time.  For a general introduction to the present, see http://www.ezlan.net/wzc.html

    Hello

Follow the troubleshooting steps in the following article and make sure that port 139 is unlocked:

I tried the printer hard reset, I downloaded the drivers directly, I tried searching for SSID the printer (doesn't seem to be a radio) and I factory reset the printer wireless settings.

    I'm puzzled.

    Please provide detailed information gabeuscorpus.

That the software you are trying to use to set up the printer is for an older Mac.

I would uninstall the old software. Yosemite drivers are installed by the Apple updates and the HP utility must not have been installed. Monofunctional and HP - uninstalling the software of the printer multifunction printers.

Set up the ad-hoc connection has nothing to do with the router. We use the Adhoc to test the operation of the equipment and the operating system. Because you see not the printer in the list to connect to, we have to solve the equipment before attempting to reconfigure the printer to the router.

Run the wireless network on the printer Test.

Press the Scan button (it also the wireless menu button)
    Select wireless settings
Select the wireless network running Test.

Check next wireless on watch Pass and work wireless shows Pass.

    Let me know.

I'll send you another step to try in a private message.

  • The UAC Popup password field is disabled... cannot elevate privileges

I have multiple accounts on my Vista machine, which is an account "admin" (not the built-in "Administrator" account). This account was never used, so in my clumsy attempt to clean up the login screen I have run the command "net user administrator / active: No." privileged command prompt to disable. While having for effect to remove account 'administrator' from the login page, I also seem to have stood at the entrance of the administrator password in the UAC popup dialog boxes. Now I'm stuck.

I tried to boot into "safe" mode in the hope that the built-in "Administrator" account arise (this also has a password), but it does not show the IPU on the login screen. No other enabled accounts have administrator privileges, so I can't re - activate the disabled "admin" account due to the lack of privileges.

Am I pooched? Can I get this working again, or do I have to do a clean install?

    Hope someone can help me...

    Dave

I managed to download a linux-based boot disk that reset my password administrator and made available on the login page. Once connected, I managed to reactivate the other admin account and now everything is fine. Fortunately, no system restore was needed.

Thank you for taking the time to help me with my problem.

  • How can I get the UAC to ignore programs that I hope?

    Hello
I have recently upgraded the hardware on my PC and that you have installed the new monitoring software provided with my motherboard. Now, every time I login, I am invited by the UAC for administrator password to allow this program to make changes to my computer. It's very annoying and frustrating!

Is it possible to add this program to a list of "approved programs"?

I read a lot of people have used the Task Scheduler in order to bypass the UAC, but it does not work for me since this program auto starts when connecting.

The program in question is Asus AI Suite II.
    I am running Win7 Pro.

    TIA

The Asus AI Suite II begins apparently via Windows tasks when you open a session. If you open the tasks, then you can assign a Windows account to the task instead of using the connected user.

    -or even more - simple

    1. open Windows task

2 change the account for the tasks of Asus to the administrator.

    3. close the session

    4. connect

    5. enjoy.

    Hi Shellzak,

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community!

I understand that you can not change the UAC settings on the computer and the system hangs. I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Rest assured that I will do my level best to help you.

Did you of recent changes to the computer before the show?

I suggest the following method and check if it helps to solve the problem.

I suggest you try to activate UAC from the command line and check if it helps.

    (a) open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    (b) run this command

    Reg.exe ADD HKLM/v EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 1/f

Registry warning: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/

  • Turn off the UAC for a SINGLE PROGRAM

    Hello!

    I have a question:

I have a program that must be run as an administrator. I often open it, so I put that it is running as an administrator when I click it it is shortened. However, whenever I launch, the UAC prompt appears.

Can I turn off UAC for this program? I don't want to disable UAC completely. If this is not possible, can I put it in a setting where it will not encourage me during the execution of the programs as an administrator?

    Thank you

    RyKona

If we could turn off UAC for pirated programs would have a field day. UAC is either activated or not - there is nothing in between.

Why you need run this application under elevated privileges? Sometimes there are alternatives that work without elevation.
