Recovery DVD does not load

Hi guys,.

I use a HP Pavilion A6120N Vista. It has a SATA RAID 0 HD value.  Machine will not start. After ordering the HP Recovery Disk Set, I tried to run the program of recovery.  It displays a message that "Windows loading files...". ». When the progress bar is completed, I get a small bar (2 1/2 inch long) with a few lines on this subject moving from left to right.  Below I have the symbol of copyright and Microsoft Corporation.  But it makes no further along than that.  I put the devices to boot from first and second for the dvd player.  I tried to start with each of them the three DVDs.  I tried to start with disk 1, 30 minute wait and the withdrawal of disc 1 / insert disk two.  I tried booting with the UBCD and another bootable cd and then insert disc 1.  I tried to start with the two disc and pressing F11 I got "Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk and press Enter". When I replace it with two disc, I get the same results as above.  Nothing works. If anyone has any ideas, I'm open for them.

After trying on & more, I got another result.  Without the disc in the drive, if I do not press F11 at startup, I get a choice of starting recovery or start windows normally.  These two choices lead to the small bar mentioned above with the lines moving from left to right. If I press F11, it goes straight to "Windows loading files...". "and the little bar with lines.  I chatted with HP support and they said the 800 number.  They told me that the OS is corrupted which causes the restore disc does not load.  Now, I thought that starting a CD/DVD without going through the operating system.  What's in Vista?  Can he change?  I saw as a warning to the other cd/dvd drive (dvd - rw 16 x pbds dh-16a1L) requires an update of the firmware to recognize the HP recovery discs.  I have the drive HL-DT-STdvdrrw.  Could it have the same problem and it had not just been documented?  So far, I am at a total loss.

Thank you

AFAIK boot failure disk means one or both of the drives went bad or BIOS (F10) must be set to zero by default. So if the raid 0 Setup and a defective hard driveis then you need to get out that the hd and run recovery on the drive to work or wait until you get to another replaced.

No, you do NOT have a corruption of the operating system, and Yes, the recovery disc bypasses the operating system on the drive. Windows Vista disk hard is not effect or prevent recovery disks because the disks will always wipe clean first the drive working.

Try the following steps.

(1) reboot the pc and go into F10 for installation (for vista)

On the MAIN tab, check to make sure that your hard drives are both recognized where says 1st or 2nd disk, etc.

It should look like WDC, SAMSUNG, ST... etc.

(a) if it is not in the list, then check the SATA cable and power cables inside your computer to make sure it is plugged both ends properly and reconnect the cables to the two discs.

(b) if only 1 disk is listed, then the other one may went bad on you and I would be the wrong drive breaker go back into the BIOS F10 menu and check that the right drive appears under you devices.

I would then run a recovery disk of 1 until you replace it. In this case you will not have a raid 0 configuration more since she was only 1 player used.

(2) try also reset the BIOS default settings by going to the menu of the BIOS F10 at startup and press F5, then press Yes then enter then F10, then Yes, then enter to restore the default BIOS settings.

(3) after the reboot back to the BIOS menu and go right on the Startup tab and choose boot DEVICE PRIORITY and set the 1st boot device to the Group of HARD drive, then save the changes and exit the BIOS.

If you want that you set the CDROM boot first yo group.

You can also turn on the pc and press ESC to boot from the hard drive or a disk drive group.

I recommend first resetting the default BIOS settings and check the devices first, before opening the pc.

I guess when I did the initial USB recovery for this laptop about 7 months ago, it did not automatically a copy of the drivers?  It is that now when I need to wipe my hard drive that I have reflected on this process and find out from one of the videos that there is an option to create a backup of drivers. I need to know I have everything backed up and available for restore, and I can count on the Acer Recovery Management to be there program to do!

as JordanB said, the recovery USB key you created was all, so no need to create a backup of drivers.

I have load to start computer press F12, and it starts on the DVD. It says "Loading RAMDISK Image", after which I am told by Toshiba customer service there should be options to clean up the hard drive or restore Windows XP.

However, after VIRTUAL disk, I see a cursor on a black screen, and then the laptop off and restarts. After the connection, NO CHANGES made...

    Hello

The recovery procedure is not difficult.
Just try to boot from the recovery CD or DVD and follow the Guide on the screen line.

Your problem is very strange. You have created all the partitions on the HARD drive?
I put really t know why your recovery CD doesn't work properly, but I think you should try to completely format the disk (also partitions), then try to boot from the recovery CD.

Don't forget that the laptop is in the boot mode. (don t mix the standby or hibernation mode)

  • Qosmio F10: Recovery DVD does not work?

Hello. I have a qosmio series lappy F10 series well well I still get random stops, crashes and error log every time that I start.
It's been very disturbing to me. I tried to use the system recovery cd, that I got with my laptop and when I followed the procedure in the user manual it starts the recovery then flashes that my system does not support recovery.

Is this normal especially when I had my restore disk with my laptop. I want to reformat my drive hard back to the factory settings and it was completely wiped out with having to buy a new hard drive and windows xp.

What I do and how can you help me in this? I'm at the end of my teather as one of my tasks is a dj from the internet and I can't keep crashing in the middle of my streaming. I don't want to lose my job!

    Help, please!

    Hello

Very strange! The fact is that you cannot use the different recovery CD because each recovery CD is designed for a Toshiba laptop model. For example, you can not use a Qosmio F10 on a Qosmio G20 recovery CD.

However, I assume that you use the recovery CD provided (as you say) and the recovery procedure should generally work without any warnings or error messages.
I think there is something wrong with the CD. Maybe the wrong CD was shipped with this laptop?
I recommend to ask the Toshiba ASP in your country. Here, you can also order the new CD.

I tried to put in the cd of installation for vista, but it won't start. I changed the options in the BIOS so that it starts from the CD first, but then it just goes to another blue screen that says: there was some sort of system faliure, and the only option is to restart the computer.

Amazing!  The rest of the restore procedure went well after that - I think.  I'm always load all other software, files and updates, 2 days later.  The hard drive on this dog only lasted a year.

    Hello

I made a recovery disk set as soon as I bought my ENVY 15. I accidentally deleted all partitions, then tried to recover by using the disks that I did... but I get this error by...

The system recovery media does not support this computer.

    0110 A9P60UA #ABA - A9P58UA #ABA

    Help, please!

    Hello

Assuming that it's just a problem with the recovery media, here's another solution, you can try.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • the system recovery media does not support this computer

I have a HP G7-1365DX and the hard drive (750 GB) is a failure.  I did a recovery file on a USB key from the recovery partition and then replaced the hard drive with a 120 GB SSD.  When I tried to reinstall the USB system, I get the message "the system recovery media does not support this computer."  Is it because the hard drive was replaced by a SSD?  How to restore the system if the recovery disk does not work?

    Hello

You are right about the source of this problem - HP recovery media often has problems of restoring the operating system on a smaller disk in quality than appeared on.

There are a few options available.

    1. if the 750 GB drive is still able to operate, use your recovery media to perform a factory reset and then use software (or Windows 7 own imaging utility) for this clone of your SSD.

2 create your own recovery media to use to run the installation - it would be my personal preference.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).
