  Hello, I have a Satellite P200 12W computer and for some reason he couldn't start Windows correctly yesterday, I got a black screen.   Satellite P200 is old model of laptop, and I imagine that you can not control the original Vista recovery disk.
  As far as I know, and you can check, Satellite P200 is fully compatible to Win7 32-bit so I recommend you to install on your machine.

  Last year, I sold my former P200D I used with Win7 32 bit and I can say that I was very pleased with the performance.
  Get the Microsoft installation disc and install Win7. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can download from the Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

• Satellite P200-199 - Win XP: does not work Fn + F5... Keys Fn + F9

  I had to install Windows XP on Satellite P200-199. After installation, Toshiba Hotkey Utility consists only of keys Fn + F3 and Fn + F4 and I can't change the brightness of the screen. How can I solve this problem? All programs and drivers XP downloaded from the website of Toshiba and installed correctly. BIOS version is the last (1.7.0). I can't work under Vista, and I choose Toshiba only for possibility of installation of XP :). If there is a way to change the brightness of the screen without hardware key (i.e. through a program or applet control), it is acceptable too.

  P.S. On the Toshiba site, there is no version of Toshiba power saver utility for XP (for Satellite P200), but I try to install 7.08.05 version - there doesn't work (CANNOT be opened because you do NOT have right to "TOSHIBA Power Saver"). I have administrator rights (Administrator installation).

  Have you installed all the drivers in the correct order?
  Installation file instruction txt on the Toshiba page shows you the step by step guide line that the order of installation is necessary!

  With regard to the issue of keys FN;
  To my knowledge, the update of the BIOS is necessary. BIOS 1.7 - winner is not designed specifically for the XP operating system and therefore, it may happen that after the installation of the operating system XP, some functions don't work properly!
  Unfortunately, I didn't find another version of BIOS for the P200-199 PSPB0E series.

  At the present time for computers laptops European drivers of Windows XP Home edition are not available. I checked the support page and there is no drivers. Only thing you can do is to try to find drivers Windows XP Home edition on the support page equipment manufacturers.

  I own Satellite P200D and I ve installed Win7 32 bit and must say this laptop works perfectly, so my advice to you is: forget the Vista and install Win7 32 bit.

  so why do you need recovery disc2. Are you sure that a disc 2 has been delivered with this machine? Have you ever tried to retrieve this machine with the error message this disc 2 has been inserted to?

  It seems that the data of the first disc can be read correctly.
  Why? I think the recovery disc may be the fault or the CD/DVD drive lens can't read/handle disk possibly because the laser lens is dirty? I put t know

  If you want you can try to clean the laser lens with cotton wool trick and liquid alcohol.
  Then try using the disc of recovery once more.

  Alternatively, you can try to copy the discs on another drive using different computers.
  Perhaps the recovery disc copy runs correctly.

  OK, that makes me crazy. I read all the papers that came with my new computer. I have been using / computers in construction since 1994. The camera on the P200-199 does not work, the drivers are not recognized on my vista operating system. I tried other select USB driver it, didn't work. Research on the cd of restoration for more than an hour - was not found.

  I've not seen anything listed at pages 4-8-4-9. There is NO Camera Assistant Software"located 5 research for it on my computer. Tried yahoo, aol, msn all who have web applications cam - none of those who built it in camera.
