Recovery partition does not start!

Hello dear forum participants!

I have computer hp pavilion dv6 laptop, recently I reinstalled original OS (win7 home 64 bit that comes with the laptop) to win7 Home premium.

Now I want to return to the default settings, and I'm unable to start on the HP Recovery partition.

When I press F11 at startup it boots regular OS, but not the HP recovery software.

How can I get my work as a recovery partition?

Problem has been solved!

It seems that recovery partition boot records have been corrupted by the installation of the non-native OS, but the directory structure and files were intact.

Steps performed:

-J' created the recovery USB using HP USB recovery Flash Disk Utility disk

Link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-77449-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=4062&product=4057188

-Fact flash drive bootable using EasyBCD utility

Link: http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1

just add a new entry to point the finger removable WIM image, see documentation for EasyBCD

http://NeoSmart.NET/wiki/display/EBCD/EasyBCD+documentation+home

It's quick and dirty solution, there will be more estetically without creating recovery USB drive, simply add the for the recovery partition boot record.

Thank you all for attenction!

    Hello

    I have a HP dv7 with Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.

A few months ago, I did a factory restore, the recovery partition start (I have no recovery disks). After that, I thought to divide my C: partition where Windows is installed, and I did it with Windows disk management.

So my new scores were: C: D: with recovery, OS, E: HP_Tools and g.: the new partition.

A few days ago the sistem ran very hard, so I thought I do another factory restore from the recovery partition. When I rebooted and you press F11, I got the "0xc0000225 error".

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit bootable drive and I tried Startup Repair tool and other repairs of sistem, checks HDD, but everything seems to be ok.

I reinstalled the operating system, from the disk bootable on C: (OS starts and works well) and let the other partitions as they were... but it seems that the recovery partition still does not start if I can do a restore from the factory with all the drivers and utilities, as they were at the beginning.

Any ideas on how I can do?

    Thank you!

It seemed that it there was not much I could do about this problem. My disk is dynamic, there is no Recovery Manager from the Start Menu, there has not been any creation of HP with HP folder recovery support. I managed somehow to make a repair disk, I tried it but no results, the error kept popping out every time.

I inserted the Windows 7 disc to try to delete all partitions, including the recovery and HP-tools and do a Windows Installer Cleanup, but the Format, New and Delete buttons are inactive.

I did some scans disk and memory tests, everything was ok... I started with a disc of Hiren and accesed the HARD drive with a program based on linux and so I managed to delete the partitions.

After I installed a new copy of Windows 7 to work with my SN and everything was ok. Unfortunately I lost partitions recovery and HP-tools, but at least it works well again.

Thanks for your all your support.

  • DVD - ROM Toshiba Recovery disk does not start

    Hello

I'm having some problems with my Toshiba Satellite M40, and I decided to reinstall the OS with the recovery of the dvd disk, but the disk does not start.
When I'm on windows, the cd/dvd driver works perfectly, and I don't think that the recovery of the dvd disk are damaged.
    I have already tried:
    1. by pressing the "C" key to start the computer
    2 - press "F12".
3 - Enter the BIOS Setup and select cd-rom to start first

But the computer starts up normally and no error message appears

Can someone help me? I don't know what to do

    Hello Palma

Can you please test it with some other bootable CD or DVD? It will be interesting to know if this happens with the recovery media only or even with other bootable media.

  • Recovery CD does not start

    Hello

I have an old IBM ThinkPad R50e (1834-PTG). When I originally bought in 2003, I created a set of recovery 6 CDs I kept this set in a place course and decided today to recover the laptop factory settings. The problem is that the computer won't start any recovery of 6 CDs (does not start other CD bootable without problem). CDs are not empty and contains a directory named "RECOVERY" with a bunch of files that it contains.

I tried to use specify the CD-ROM drive as first boot device, to use F12 to specify the device, nothing helps.

How can I use these CD?

I found a ghost image, which is the result of a whole new R51. I'll be able to use it to recover my system? Will be the key of Windows that came with my computer work with this image?

Well, it turns out that there was another drive (surprise) the names "Recovery boot CD. Now, the recovery process begins without any problem.

  • Vista will not load and continually reboots, recovery disk does not start.

I have a Dell with vista on it. Recently, it has automatically installed an update and now it does not load Windows at all. It goes to the screen where I have the opportunity to "start in safe mode" "safe mode with command promt", "last known good configuration" etc. and none of these work options (all start loading them upwards and then the computer restarts just itself).

I tried to put in the cd of installation for vista, but it won't start. I changed the options in the BIOS so that it starts from the CD first, but then it just goes to another blue screen that says: there was some sort of system faliure, and the only option is to restart the computer.

I also tried to connect an external dvd player to see if he was not playing the disc because of a defect in material, but the same thing happens.

I also tried out the RAM and it put it back again (a single website suggested I try this).

Nothing seems to work! And now, I am out of options and have no idea what to try next - help!

    http://support.Dell.com/

If it does not start where install Recovery DVD from Dell, you will need to contact Dell at the above address.
As you say, you have changed the boot on the appropriate drive order and still nothing

It would seem that you have a deeper problem that just a straight reinstall the problem.

  • Recovery disk does not start

I'm helping a friend with his HP CP61-313US laptop. Somehow, it's not boot from the hard drive. It attempts to load Windows, then crashes, gives me the black screen where you can choose the safe mode, safer networking, etc.

He will not start in safe mode or other options. It does not start from the last good configuration.

I ordered the HP recovery discs and disc inserted one of the stimulus. It won't boot from the CD. I went into the bios options and set the CD drive as the first option. I did both of in the settings BIOS F10 and F9 startup command settings. I hear work the CD player, but he keeps trying to boot from the hard drive.

I never get a message that says something like "press any key to boot from the CD-ROM."

Is there anything else I can do to force startup from the CD/DVD?

Is it possible that I can copy this HP on a flash drive recovery myself and try to boot from a flash drive. I guess it is possible that the DVD/CD player is broken. My friend who owns the computer used rarely to the reader.

Is there some other bios setting I can use? Either by the way, I ran the memory and hard drive diagnostics and they passed.

I have determined that the DVD drive on this laptop is bad or is about to fail. I tried to create a Windows repair CD and was able to read the CD. It would give me the message "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD" that I was not getting with restore disks factory HP. I put restore HP factory disks in another computer and tried to copy them. I thought that, perhaps, if my drive was any failure there is something on the factory records it would not read but maybe a freshly burnt disc copy can read. It would be almost from the start. He would try and then getting errors of e/s on the copied version of the disc. I came to the conclusion that I could find other uses for a drive DVD external USB and since they were only $40 I have advanced and bought a. I now restore since the original HP recovery discs successfully using the external DV

Key USB D. I had to upgrade the bios to boot from the DVD USB drive, but it seems to work. So you can consider my original request as 'resolved', but I can't speak for other users who have hung on this thread. But if someone has trouble with their discs original HP, I would suggest trying to make a copy of their, and maybe a copy will work. The copy almost worked for me.

  • Mavericks on external partition does not start

    Hello

I'm trying to implement the Mavericks on a partition on my external hard drive. Found several good guides on how but can't seem to boot from it.

I created a Mavericks install USB and started one. I deleted the partition (guid partition map and extended journaled) where I wanted to install the Mavericks ran through the facility and said it will re-start automatically that it did.

However it is started on my internal drive with OS X 10.11.4.

The partition where the Mavericks has been installed is displayed in the Finder.

The partition where the Mavericks has been installed is displayed as a virtual disk in system preferences, but when Source selected to restart, but after rebooting, it does not appear.

When I hold the ket Option initially upwards, it does not seem to me to choose.

I retried with 'createinstallmedia' https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201372 and Diskmaker, but the same results.

How can I solve why it why it seems installed, but is not a bootable disk?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Also...

I use a partition of 100 GB of the Mavericks on a backup drive Seagate to Office for Mac 4.

  • Vista Boot Camp partition does not start

I have been using Fusion to open my Boot Camp with Vista Ultimate installed partition.  It worked fine for months.  Suddenly, I get a windows Boot Manager error.  The message says that some required files missing.  Here's the weird: I can open the Visa using Boot Camp partition.

    Any ideas?

    Tim

Note: These steps assume that you have a default Apple installation of Windows and a VMware Fusion Boot Camp Virtual Machine default partition and if you changed the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine package first.

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will remove the Boot Camp Virtual Machine meta-data partition. Note: This does not affect the Boot Camp partition to install Windows. Also make sure that you copy the entire command below "rm" line at the beginning of the ' (quote) after the p in the Camp. "

RM - dfr "/Users/$ the specified item was not found./Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines / Boot Camp."

    3. start Fusion (/ Applications/VMware Fusion.app) and select the Boot Camp partition on the library of the Virtual Machine window, and then click the run button.

Notes: Then, an authentication dialog box appears. "VMware Fusion requires that you type your password." Enter your name and password, and then click OK. (It is necessary to remove the Boot Camp for the merge partition to access it directly).

Then, we should see a Boot Camp partition message stating "VMware Fusion prepares your Boot Camp partition to run as a virtual machine. This may take a few minutes. This occurs once. »

When the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine starts for the first time after this VMware Tools may want or will install/update and restart the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine.

  • Recovery partition does not

    Hi all

I'm a newbie on the site and would very much appreciate if you wise experienced could help me with this one.

I have a HP Compaq dx2250 desktop running xp pro 64 bit. It is about four years old now and normally works fine until about a fortnight ago. The system becomes slower and slowest of the day. Video and audio are now impossible to watch. I scanned for viruses and malware, clean all the files, defragmented, and it's always the same. I have G.bytes of free space on the disk, so I decided to do a recovery reinstall from the recovery partition. Press F11 or make windows, and the result is the same. He goes through the process to return to factory settings, then stop at a window 'Restore more CD'... ?? I chose the language option and then get the following message.

    "Restore Plus CD error.

Restoring more cd is designed to work properly on HP computer systems only. »

It is a real system of HP, I started to plant one or two time settings in the past with no problems. I never had the recovery partition, I've never had any CD I'm stuck with a PC crawl along at a snail's pace. Please help me... !

Thanks for any help on this

    Hey, Alex:

If this isn't a motherboard HP dx2250 you have replaced the one with (perimeter), then recovery disks don't work either.

You will need to purchase a copy of XP or get a XP OEM installation disc and use the product key at the top of your PC case to activate the installation.

If you replace the motherboard with a card mother dx2250, is the serial number and model # present in the BIOS?

If this isn't the case, maybe that's the problem.

If it isn't there, you can use this utility to reset the serial number (and possibly the model number) in the BIOS.

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&swItem=PSG_I14992-36908&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=316720

You cannot run this program by an internal or USB floppy as the file checked out when you double-click to run it and request a floppy disk to be inserted into a floppy drive, then the file creates a boot disk with the necessary files to change the serial number.

  • How can I reinstall Windows 7 Home premium on my MSI FX600 OA if the recovery partition does not work?

So, I bought this laptop MSI FX600. It had Windows 7 Home premium OA (OEM I guess). It also contains a recovery partition.

After awhile, I had to reinstall windows, so I downloaded an iso of windows, put it on a USB key and reinstalled. but the product key doesn't work though I should be able to use it because it is not used by any other computer. How can I reinstall windows and activate with the product key OEM on the bottom of the laptop? somehow the recovery partition no longer works, so that will not help either. Also, where can I download the iso right for reassembly?

too bad that I already fixed it. I installed the version English, but anyway my laptop only supports the Dutch version. Thank you for your abundant answers.

  • Ghost recovery CD does not start on a virtual computer

    Greetings-

Sorry if this is a repost - this is the number

I'm trying to restore a win / me system in a virtual machine.  I have a backup Ghost 9 of it. I created an empty vm and

tried to restore using the ghost cd.  The system booted, but simply collapsed to the point were it was looking at the "system".

It was that way for 20 minutes until it stop him. I thought I did it with an early version of the workstation (I'm running with 6.5.3)

I've missed something with this process?

    Thank you

    Frank

next things I want to try...

    -Add more RAM

-remove the 3d and USB support

    -remove the SCSI controller

If this does not help, try to run it as a compatible VM WS 6.0

What is the exact name of this iso? -It is based on the PE or BACK? -I don't remember right now.

Do you need to recover a file *.gho or you have a different extension?
