Recovery process does not USB

I am running into a problem of recovery running on my HP laptop.

My laptop:

HP PAVILION DM1-4010US

I was using Ubuntu on my laptop for a while and did not preserve the Windows partion properly and I don't have a USB lead recovery (I know I'm stupid).

So I have...

(1) ordered the recovery from HP Media

(2) it came as several labeled DVDs: recovery system 1 2 and 2 of 2 disc DVD driver recovery.

(3) my laptop has no optical drive, so I created a picture ISO of the DVD 1 of 2

(4) created a bootable USB key with the ISO using Rufus

(5) booted from USB and ran "Recovery Manager".

That is the problem.  Part on the new installation works very well (preparation of recovery), but eventually he wants to restart the system.  To restart, "Recovery Manager" appears again as if nothing ever happened.  He wants the entire process.

I did something wrong?

It's the fact that my USB does not contain that ISO to a DVD (DVD 1 of 2) a problem?

Thank you!

Yes - the second DVD contains the files needed to complete the recovery. Maybe you can borrow a USB CD/DVD player someone - or buy a.

  • Recovery facility does not engage on Satellite L850D

    Hello

as my PC still locked after 10 minutes (surfing on the net, use of Ms office,...) Finally, I decided to reinstall Windows and made a record of recovery facility. Indeed, remove all software (office, Chrome,...) and reinstall it did not solve anything
I reinstalled and noted installation was indeed very slow (hours) until he stopped at stage 47 of 47. Wait again for if long step 47 in the end, he didn't move at all.

I rebooted, and then asked for an administrator password to WIndows7. How can I know, I didn't create any user.

Then I restarted in safe mode, where I could create a user with administrator rights (if did not create a password for it)
Then I could log on, but he again immediately on screen Toshiba Leading Innovation above windows again stuck again at stage 47/47. No movement at all new.

So I decided to lower-level security the lowest level regarding ' when the software is installed you are not asked to leave.

I am progressing a little, but after about 10 seconds, it stops and the progress bar does not continue. Automatically restarts windows and sometimes not help waiting hours. • Recovery CD does not completely load.

I just replaced the hard drive and the recovery CD does not completely load. After having ejected the second CD, the file loading process stops at 12%. There is no error message and I welcomed as much as 5 hours for the load file to complete, but it remains at 12% after the first 30 minutes. HP Pavilion dv7-4165dx, Windows 7

Well - here I answer to my own problem in case someone else has the same problem.  The second disk files recovery finally finished loading after 20 hours of waiting!  I spoke to two different technicians to support HP on the phone and neither one of them told me that it could take a long time to load the files!  One of them had me arrested and again after about 40 minutes of waiting.  I found it totally by accident after having frustrated and leaving it just stay there all night. Amazing!  The rest of the restore procedure went well after that - I think.  I'm always load all other software, files and updates, 2 days later.  The hard drive on this dog only lasted a year.

  • BIOS update failed: the process does not have this system. The process of the utility is not complete.

I have a Thinkpad T450s and I'm trying to update the BIOS version 1.19 to 1.20. I've created a live usb with the 'el tortio' - image extracted using linux "dd". Once I boot on the USB under Legacy-BIOS and select upgrade, it proceeds witht the error message "the process does not have this system. The process has been cancelled. "I have disabled the protection against theft, AMT (I think this is the option) and I'm sure that I use the correct .iso file from the downloads section. I don't have a Windows operating system installed, but I'm able to start in various linux distributions using Legacy and UEFI methods.

    Here is my BIOS information.

    "Manage 0 x 0031, DMI type 0, 24 bytes.

What could you suggest to get the update disc to recognize my system?

I think I've fixed the problem, I formatted FAT16 USB drive and not in FAT32 and also when you use the geteltorito command, it is preferable to use the-o option rather than a redirection ">"syntax. " An article said that it is best to drop in a DOS command line using the USB boot, then run dosflash.exe from there, however, I could not edit the .bat file, but it is an option however.

I hope this helps someone stuck in a similar situation.

  • the system recovery media does not support this computer

I have a HP G7-1365DX and the hard drive (750 GB) is a failure.  I did a recovery file on a USB key from the recovery partition and then replaced the hard drive with a 120 GB SSD.  When I tried to reinstall the USB system, I get the message "the system recovery media does not support this computer."  Is it because the hard drive was replaced by a SSD?  How to restore the system if the recovery disk does not work?

    Hello

You are right about the source of this problem - HP recovery media often has problems of restoring the operating system on a smaller disk in quality than appeared on.

There are a few options available.

    1. if the 750 GB drive is still able to operate, use your recovery media to perform a factory reset and then use software (or Windows 7 own imaging utility) for this clone of your SSD.

2 create your own recovery media to use to run the installation - it would be my personal preference.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    Hi all

I have an old Satellite A30-203 and have a problem. I tried to format my laptop but the product recovery cd does not seem to work in deletion the data on my disk, its becomes blocked during loading files of ntfs? Now I am not able to retrieve a windows session would I need a new product recovery cd and would be able to get it?

    Thank you

    Hi dimation,

It is difficult to say what is the reason of this but made is either it s a laptop problem itself or the recovery disc (e.g. scratches) causes this problem.

In my opinion the best way to check this using a Microsoft Windows disk. If the installation completed successfully, you need a new recovery disk. As a result, you can ask a service provider authorized in your country! :)

    Tarsio Alvares

Tarsio Alvares based on code, I see in the App Engine, writing of file is not managed.

You can see that OutDestType = 6 (Web) and % OutDestType = 3 (printer) are dealt with. Technically, should also have some code for % OutDestType = 2 (file) to cover for the file option.

You will need to write the following code to operate temporarily. Moreover, wear it like a SR with Oracle that this appears to be a delivered report and should be able to print to file.

    If OutDestType = 2 Then %

    & REPORT_DEFN. OutDestination = FilePath %;

    End - If;

    As follows:

Let us know if that helps. Once I added this code, it seems to work very well when I'm printing to a file. Thank you!
