(Redirected) The motherboard - issue thermal ventilation upgrade Active

Hello

I think the upgrade from my old Area 51 (if I remember well that was the chassis of the Lunar shadow of 2010)

I am concerned about the heat evacuation Active on the top of the base, if I put in a new generic motherboard, will be evacuated in the upper part of the chassis remains open? (they have a default open state?) I guess there is nothing to connect to on the new Board of Directors, unless she uses an internal USB

Any advice is greatly appreciated on this

Thank you in anticipation

Andy

As the title says, I have recently updated my card mother, cpu and ram (increased from Asrock extreme6 z77/i7 3770 k/Kingston 8 gb hyperx for EVGA ftw/i5 z97 4670 k/g. Skill ripjaw x 16 gb). I always use the same installation of Windows 7 64 via the same SSD. After I was installing new equipment, I used the disc that comes with the motherboard and installed all the drivers that were available (twice, just to be safe). All the features of the OS I had before seem to be there except to exit Device Manager to correctly install the drivers for my wireless (Linksys AE1000 and TP Link N900) adapters. I downloaded the current driver for the Linksys Web site and I have the disc for the TP-Link and I tried several times to install, but keep the same message ' Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it. Device Manager recognizes the device and it is not any question of State symbol (IE yellow triangle, etc.) that is displayed in conjunction with an adapter. I tried disable/re-enabling and uninstall/re-installing times and keep having the same problem. I tried to search in several forums of people with similar problems, but none of the resolutions seem to work or are suitable for my situation. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

When you upgrade your motherboard, cpu and ram, drivers for particular devices may not be related to other drivers. That's why I suggest you to install all the drivers for the chipset from the manufacturers website and see if that helps.

  • (Redirected) The motherboard upgrade, but I would still use the 3770 Alienware x 51 i7 cpu.

Hi, im having trouble finding the exact chipset of the Alienware 51 i7 x 3770. I bought a new case, the food and the gpu for the project. I also jumped the gun and the waste of money on a motherboard with a lga1150 socket that I thought would work, but was wrong in the end. I noticed on the stock x 51 mb he had 115 x lm on the socket, but I wasn't sure if it was the code of real socket or something else.  I would like to know if someone could inform me on which card code mother socket would support my cpu or direct me to any suited cards Mini ITX mothers who will support the i7 Alienware 3770.

    Hello

    Pre-installed software: Yes [R11382GR]
    Purchase date: 13/05/2011

I use above professional mobile phone use for CAD programming as well as for Office applications.
2 GB RAM (standard), I can increase up to 4 GB Kingston (ex aequo) on purchase.
With the 160 GB HARD drive, I had a lot at the beginning of the loss of speed.
So I leave a month later to a switch of OCZ Vertex 120 GB of a second
And lasted almost 9 months without problems.
Now, I don't have so much free space in my SDS. So I would like to
'Intel SSD 520 Series 240 GB 2.5 SATA III'
    Skip the leave.

My question would be, I would get this problem?
    (1) in theory, SATA3 work perfectly well this SSD 240 GB right?
In the manual, it is up to 120 GB SATA2 SSD in it. However, the 2009 manual. The information is very old. And at that time were not yet 240 GB free for end users of hard drives SSD SATA3.

    (2) is there any Windows Professional / Ultimate / Business 64 for 7 as this laptop?
Original, I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I wanted that my memory that expanded up to 8 GB. CAD program running on the 64-bit operating system much better.

    (3) is the card graphic and/or welded directly on my cell or can I leave replace it? It is a plug-in card?

    (4) can I switch to a processor / CPU? What size?

    (5) the Mobile UMTS and HSDPA / HSPAU / LTE is capable?

    (6) I still can't be on the Toshiba support site:

On a response, I would be very happy.

Sorry for the bad English. My language is German!

So I hope that someone can help me with my questions.

    > 1) in theory, SATA3 work perfectly well this SSD 240 GB right?
    > Manually, it is up to 120 GB SATA2 SSD in it. However, the 2009 manual. The information is very old. And at that time were not yet 240 GB free for end users of hard drives SSD SATA3.

The SATA controller is not limited in size, you can use 250 GB, 500 GB or more large hard disks. The same should be possible with SSD drives since the controller is the same.

(> 2) is there any Windows Professional / Ultimate / Business 64 for 7 as this laptop?
    > Original, I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I wanted that my memory that expanded up to 8 GB. CAD program running on the 64-bit operating system much better.

Don't know what you mean exactly, but if you want to installed Win 7 64 bit, then you can do without big problems the 64-bit drivers are available on the European driver Toshiba page.

(> 3) is the card graphic and/or welded directly on my cell or can I leave replace it? It is a plug-in card?
The laptop seems to be equipped with a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150 M chip graphic. This is an external chip that is connected/soldered on the motherboard. But even if you can remove this chip, the upgrade is NOT possible.

    (> 4) can I switch to a processor / CPU? What size?
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

Generally the CPU upgrade depends on the chipset of the motherboard.
You could upgrade the processor, if the chipset would support the new processor.
There are still questions about BIOS support, but I've read here in the forum that some people have been able to upgrade the new processor.

(> 5) the Mobile UMTS and HSDPA / HSPAU / LTE is capable?
Support for 3G modules appears to support the HSDPA standard

(> 6) I still can't get on the Toshiba support site:
    > find when you enter the serial number or model number is not my laptop?

Maybe it is not inserted into the database, but your Tecra S10-183 belongs to the series of PTSB3E that you can search other models belonging to the PTSB3E for details

    Hi Stephen

On this virtual path, we can only speculate what may be the problem, but if there is problem detecting HARD drive in the BIOS it may be serous issue with detection of HARD drive on the first level and it may be the motherboard issue.

What kind of errors you see in Windows?

In addition, you use original recovery image that you got with your laptop?

In 2006, when my F10 - 128 fell down as a fault of the video card, Toshiba has replaced the motherboard (865 PM) of my F10 by a new one with the video card installed in Go 6600.
When I came back, I noticed that the same RAM modules have been installed (2 x 512 MB DDR 333 Mhz) as I previous had on the old motherboard.

Then, I assumed that I could easily upgrade to DDR2 RAM, I realized that this type of RAM supported by the new motherboard installed (915 PM?). But the modules DDR2 Ram (Kingston 1 GB SODIMM (KVR533D2S4 - 1 G) 533 MHz) that I ordered is simply not in the storage media... The notch in the module is placed differently that the modules of RAM DDR.

If the jury has been replaced by a newer version, with the video card Go 6600 (PCIexpress), how is, I have a Council that can not support DDR2?

Here, I am really confused. Someone at - it advice please?

    > If the jury has been replaced by a newer version, with the video card Go 6600 (PCIexpress), how is, I have a Council that can not support DDR2?
I think the jury is still supported DDR2 memory modules, but the allocation of the memory pins could be different.

You should contact the ASP in your country and ask for the compatible modules.

In reading, there is no way I could actually update my current installation of XP and keep all the settings, I decided to just reformat my hard drive and install windows 7 as a custom install fees. Now, I can't activate Windows 7 because it claims that I do not have a version of windows installed on this hard drive. Is it possible (armed with my XP and Windows 7 product keys) I can activate my software? Or should I go through the hassle to format my drive again, stick XP on it simply to crush it with Windows 7 so I can activate it? Feels like a bit of an oversight for XP to 7 plants of valuation. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

When I try to activate, it asks me the product key, but there is no place to find. After a few days it will lock up and I could ' t use more. I pick up the PC with recovery system and works very well the first days but again is asking me to activate Windows 7. Where can I get activation key for my Windows 7 original product? I want to continue to use my PC normally.

    Thank you.

    Greetings,

There should be a Microsoft COA 25 character sticker attached to your system.

Try the product on the certificate of Authenticity number.

You will need to contact HP for the service if there is no COA sticker.

It seems that HP did not tattoo the BIOS on the new motherboard with the correct information to auto activate the operating system.

The dv7 series is a challenge even for experienced laptop technicians. There are several boards of sup and ribbon cables going in all directions. The T9800 will agree and will work on any one of the motherboards in the manual that you apparently (let me know if not) and will greatly increase the WEI on the processor. She is always equivalent to most of the i3 processors.  The HD 4650 is going to be a pretty big improvement on the HD 4530. But that's like saying I'd rather have a 1964 Chevrolet as a 1953 Chevrolet... nor is technologically current as for video cards go. Current demanding games will exceed the 4650's powers.
