From what I've seen so far, I can probably expect nobody to answer this question for me, but I'll ask it anyway.

I just got an email from Dell telling me that the transfer was denied.

I didn't fill out the form because I just bought the computer. When I followed the link, nothing happened. Is this typical Dell?

    I m not 100% sure, but you don t need a transfer of collateral for the new owner.
    As a first step, it is important that cell is recorded by Toshiba and the new owner has original invoice that you give.

    If there is some service issue will verify registration and purchase date. With the original invoice, new owner has good and valid document.
    Just for example: hundreds of laptops eBay change owners every day and no one send some transfer of warranty. It is important that new owner an original invoice with Notepad.

    I have a dell inspiron 5755. Recently, the computer stopped recognizing the charger dell charger and will not charge the battery.  I verified that it is a bad charger and nothing wrong with my laptop.  I called the technical support and all first they told me that I had to upgrade the bios, but since the battery was less than 10%, I have to send my laptop while they could upgrade the bios.  I refused, declaring that I just need a charger and was informed that they would not send me a charger and I had to send my laptop.  I spoke with a supervisor who then told me that I had to drop it because my laptop was bad and I need to update the bios.  I told her that there is nothing wrong with my laptop. This is the cord. and I checked it.  He told me that they would not send me a charger I would need to drop it. I asked to talk to his boss and he said that was not a boss. He said he signed his own payslip.  I asked to speak to the customer service and he refused to transfer me to a first time indicating that they couldn't help me.  Again, I asked and he transferred me somewhere that has been closed.

    A few days later I received a call from customer support and I explained what had happened and told me he would send me a.  After several times being on hold and 45 minutes... He then informed me that the power supply is not covered by my warranty and they will send me one but I have to pay for it.  This was the worst experience I've ever had with a computer manufacturer.  I will never buy another Dell.

    My brother-in-law brother bought a laptop for me in the United States and want to transfer to the United Kingdom.

    The laptop bought with 4 years premium service/warranty.

    Would be what are transferred when the form is completed?

    It is waring on site as,

    "Contracts of services which are not transferable".

    Please help, it's kinda urgent.

    Beware of this trap of warranty.  Don't rebuild your laptop out of warranty.

    I rebuilt my Dell Latitude E5530.  Unfortunately I was informed by Dell Support that unless I renew my warranty, they won't get out my OEM Windows 7 SP1 activation code.  Actually they are now hostage until I renew my warranty.  I was under the impression that I bought the OEM license with my laptop.  I opened a folder from supported on this and said I need technical support they used to give me without the guarantee.  I opened a complaint [Admin Note: personal information removed] but had absolutely no response.

    Its too bad. Its a portable grand.  I'll have to throw it away now and start buying another brand for our company

    New to the forum here, but I need some clarification of a Dell representative on this forum.

    I recently bought a 2 in 1 new Inspiron 13 7347 and I wanted to update the hard drive for an SSD.  The representative of sales at Microcenter told me to check if it could void the warranty before installing, so I called the help line.  I was told that if I bought the disc SSD from Dell and installed myself (there are instructions published for that on this site) would not invalidate the warranty.  If I installed an SSD not purchased from Dell, may void the warranty on all of the computer.  There is no sense to me, so I ended up talking to a customer service agent in the sales department who told me the same thing and quote an equivalent disk for a huge slice of $390 (3 x what I paid).

    I did some research here and found this post from a few years ago that uses little common sense that everything you are replacing is not covered:

    Can someone with Dell please specify this?  I understand that if I replace the disc and the disc breaks down, it's my responsibility.  But, I do not understand how to replace the hard drive could void the warranty on the remaining parts of the computer (ie the touch screen).

    Good so I bought an alpha alienware on ebay. It worked fine until just now. I contacted the support to try to get it fixed. Was told I need a warranty transfer of the former owner to myself. Its still in warranty for 35 days more Dell... I contacted the chat and they said that they transferred to my name tag. So I called support since the tag was supposdely in my name now. Low and this is right before they were going to order a new motherboard for it. The support agent (phone) said that the mandate was not yet in my name as I was told before, and it cannot do unless its in my name. So yes im confused now.

    Yet once, at the start I tried to do online transfer of warranty even if everything I know about the person that I bought is the two bills that I got on ebay and paypal to purchase which was a few months ago (I bought it originally used). I just put this info in but still no answer... I sent the seller and still no response.

    The funny is that the guy that I spoke on the live chat it's everything in my name now. Yet when I called by phone, the Lady said that it was not let him apply for the permuted motherboard. and that he (the previous owner warranty) was especially "in white. Yet when I tried to register, it says its already registered... and won't let me put my info.  IDK im so confused. I want to just my machine to have a new motherboard (questions, it's complicated freezing) :( If anyone out there at dell can help me... Whenever I try to send I NEVER get an answer... ugghh. I have my file number if that helps. I have my tag number, tag express, heelp etc... Please before my warranty runs out...

  • Extended warranty already enabled on the element damaged and replaced

    I'm not able to find specific information for my problem.

    I bought s430 and activated the extended warranty of 3 y. After some time, it broke, so after a few months in the service center, they have managed to replace my point by s430 else covered by the original warranty, although a little better model.

    I can see online now, this new model, I have only guaranteed 1y, which means my did ' t of the 3 years warranty transfer initially replaced laptop. But I paid for the extended warranty, and also it was not my fault that laptop broke. So why should I pay for expansion once more? Why I lost what I bought in the first place?

    I called Lenovo Croatia as well as the service center where my laptop was being repaired, but nobody can help it. What can I do to?

    The warranty adjustment can be done by lenovo (Security Department) in Croatia: Lenovo's support staff. Check the phone number below and check with the lenovo support staff, if the guarantee of your old machine (case # 4261832768, date 21/02/2013) has been transferred to the previous device, otherwise, ask them to do this.

    In some cases, proof of purchase (order receipt) is required for the validation of the guarantee. Ensure that you have this practice when you call.

    I would like to know what it means 'Next Business Day Support'. Does this 'day business on-site"identical or something else?

    For the moment, I'm interested a Latitude Dell laptop refurbished on the ebay.co.uk and the portable real is in the United States. The inscription says that there 3 years manufacturer's Dell warranty. When I asked the seller to this topic, what I are unclear responses.

     

    "The way in which the guarantee was designed by Dell is that it must be registered using a USA based address."

    Above was the first answer I got. And after further question, I got this.

    "That's all this we know: according to dell it is: 'Next Business Day Support' January 2017"

    I don't know what it means exactly 'Next Business Day Support'. I know that it guarantees are called 'Day working on-site' and "Next Business Day ProSupport", but never heard of "Next Business Day Support'. Is this something new?

    As I am in the United Kingdom and the laptop is in the United States, the guarantee should be transferable after purchase. And I heard that only 'Service business day following on-site' is transferable on the international scene.

    Could someone throw a light on the issue?

    UK USA warranty transfer can be difficult on a system that we have sold. 10 x difficult for resellers. USA and UK guaranteed specifications differ and can not transfer. These ebay sellers move computers from one area to another without any real knowledge of our policies. You could get a laptop from them that initially sold off Japan Dell. My advice, find the phone you want on the Dell UK Outlet site, NOT a seller on ebay. Our site will explain your warranty offerings.

  • Given the run around by Tech Support

    I initially contacted Dell technical support on February 6, 2016. I was told that the problem I saw with the GPU means the tech must be returned for repair. After 5 weeks to be passed around between different support groups and fill in many forms of different warranty transfer (I bought the XPS 15 9550 system in question on the Microsoft Store and in time, it is around the age of 2 months). I'm stuck now entirely.

    I was told the last rep, I talked to (which is a sort of climbing team) that guarantee is now transferred and I have to call the tech support number. I did, just to be told that they cannot possibly do anything and that I must contact the rep who told me to call them. I sent the rep who told me to contact support again and he has not responded to me.

    So right now, I'm totally stuck, no one can help me and I have a broken computer that I had now sat here for almost 6 weeks and I'm afraid to use it because I don't know what could happen.

    After calling 6 times more they say they will do something.

    You can transfer the old guarantee of your old phone to your new G25.

    When I try to visit some Web sites. Gmail.com and Firefox.com...yet in particular, I get the following error message.

    After try again, it usually works. Sometimes I have to try several times but it works after a while.

    Now, I searched this site and found the solution for this error which will involved tools > options > privacy and ensure that I accept all cookies. I did, cookies all the time.

    I think I played with too many options to my subject: config and it's how I missed this. I tried updating to a newer version of Firefox to see if that would solve the problem and he didn't. So I wonder if there is some setting in my topic: config I could try to change, or if there is a way to put my subject: at default config without losing my addons?

    I look forward to uninstall and reinstall Firefox to fix this, as I have a lot of Add ons and lots of Favorites and try as I can in the past I have always seem to forget to transfer SOMETHING when I reinstalled Firefox.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hmmm I m not 100% sure if this could be possible, but if it possible of s then only the service provider authorized in your country could change that.
    So call the ASP and seek clarification. Maybe it would help you guys?
