Reference Dell Replay Manager with Actifio or well Veeam?

I'm not very familiar with SAN storage. The company that I work is currently evaluating a backup solution that will use two Dell Compellents. Currently, we have a HDS, but are considering buying another for a warm site. The citation for the second HDS includes two Dell Replay Manager instances. My understanding is that Dell Replay Manager allows you to take snapshots, which is obviously a good idea. We also assess Actifio and Veeam as backup solutions. Replay of Dell Manager is quite expensive, and I wonder if it's necessary even if we will use Veeam or Actifio for a backup solution.

Any who would provide no indication as to why or why we would not, want to eliminate the Dell Replay Manager of our purchase IF we proceed to a real (Veeam or Actifio) backup solution?

Or, it would be better to abandon the Veeam/Actifio and use Dell Replay Manager?

Thank you!

You cannot Replay Manager if you go with the Actifio solution.

Actifio captures the data of the production gradually environment forever and creates virtual copies for multiple use cases (data protection, disaster, recovery testing, etc.).  This architecture combines the quick capture of data from a snapshot of redundancy of a real consistent backup, application.

Replay Manager uses instant Compellent to enter data, that work very well, but use of space on the storage array, and they do not provide a redundant copy of data.  Also, it presents itself as an additional cost and is another tool, that must be managed.  Actifio solution can provide snapshots, backup and replication through a single user interface services without storing to copy the data on the production storage matrix (copy data virtualization).

Some of the main benefits of using Actifio in your scenario would be:

-Copy the data would not be stored on the Compellent production table.  Snapshots of storage array can store the point at best time your production storage capacity.  Design of Actifio is to delete copies of your production sets and eliminate tools point of backup, replication, snapshots, etc.

-Do you have a truly independent and redundant backup.  Storage array snapshots do not provide protection against the Group failures, breakdowns of the Bay or Bay of storage RAID software problems.

-Data could be kept for more long with of Actifio built in compression and dedup global

-Instant access to virtual copies of the data from the system of Actifio

  • Reference Dell Open manage for PE2950 for WS2012R2

I tried to access the management system opened on our hyper-v Server today, but my manager told me that there is no such thing as a version of open management, for the PE2950 on Windows Server R2 2012 and it is out there for something fancy like a R6 * / 7 * /-8 *.

I know it's there because I installed it in the last company I did part of the management, but for the life of me, only two years later, I can not understand where we got the original installation to do this.

I downloaded installed three or four to manage open on the page drivers for our service number, but one of them came with "[I'm just a patch]" and the other three have indicated that they were not compatible. Even if we set the operating system to Windows Server 2012 R2, it always gives me "for 32-bit node,' then maybe we're missing something else.

I am hoping to win the lottery here and have a Dell technician take pity on me and direct me to a FTP location I can give to my manager so that we can get this software down to all the systems in our network.

I can't be the only person who has faced this issue, but I may be the only person who was not able to fix it on their own.

    Help, please.

Fake. You will find it at support.Dell.com, select your system, change the selection in the drop-down list of OS, then check out managing systems for OpenManage Server Administrator (Managed Node). The 32-bit version is fine and installation of WoW 64-bit operating systems will be activated (all except the ' core' by default).

  • Need help with Dell Storage Manager is not not able to connect to the PS EQL group

I have recently updated our data collector and Enterprise Manager customer to Dell Storage Manager R2 2016 [Build: 16.2.1.228]. With this new version, Dell has added the ability to connect to Equallogic PS berries, as long as they are on the right firmware.

I have two paintings of PS I want to add to the Storage Manager. The first is a picture of PS4110 in our M1000E chassis. I was able to add this PS Group for Storage Manager. But when I try to add the PS6210X, I get an error that says: "cannot add the PS Group '. No other information is provided. The two paintings are on the same version of firmware 7.17. I ping the problem array of server that runs the data collector. If Java is installed, I could even access the web gui of this table using IE. Two of these paintings IP management are on the same subnet.

  • Reference Dell MD3200i correct editing with IP system and the NIC for faster network speeds

    Hi all

I worked on this project for a while now. I did a lot of research and have contacted Dell several times. I need help.

I have 2 sets of identical to use for Hyper-V clusters servers. We bought a Dell MD3200i in November, we also bought a Dell 5424 switch and a Cisco SLM2048 switch. These servers have Real Tek 2 network cards for iSCSI Jumbo frames is 9 k

The Dell MD3200i is two SAN controllers. Dell 5424 is the iSCSI optimized switch and Cisco is a 48 switch ports. iSCSI is on its own network that nothing else is connected to it. (There is an Iomega NAS and a promise Vtrak SAN Tech with all current domain of execution with iSCSI controller)

    Reference Dell MD3200i controller 0 Port 0 192.168.130.101 controller 1 Port 0 192.168.131.101

    Controller controller Port 1 0 192.168.130.102 1 1 192.168.131.102

    Controller controller Port 2 0 192.168.130.103 1 2 192.168.131.103

    Controller controller Port 3 0 192.168.130.103 1-3 192.168.131.104

Cisco switch has 1 VLAN n ° 1 on it and the 130 subnet inside elements. There are 8 connections to the switch. 4 controller 0 and 1 of each of the servers. It has an IP of 192.168.132.4, but that switch IP does not make difference. Lighted Jumbo frames

Dell switch has 2 of #1 for various things such as the domain controller, Vtrack, and SIN. Subnet 2 is 131 and has a total of 8 connectors inside. 4 in 1 controller and 1 from each of the servers. Lighted Jumbo frames. The switch IP address is 192.168.132.2

Groups of servers. Each server node running Windows 2008 R2 SP1 and running hyper-v with virtual server clusters / storage folder on them. 2 Realtek NIC with Jumbo frames made 9 k ProdNode1 and ProdNode2 have 12 Core i7 CPU with 12 GB memory, EXNode1 and ExNode2 have 12 Core i7 CPU with 24 GB of memory.

    ProdNode1 iSCSI-1 192.168.130.110 ProdNode1 iSCSI-2 192.168.131.110

    ProdNode2 iSCSI-1 192.168.130.120 ProdNode2 iSCSI-2 192.168.131.120

    ExNode1 iSCSI-1 192.168.130.130 ExNode1 iSCSI-2 192.168.131.130

    ExNode2 iSCSI-1 192.168.130.140 ExNode2 iSCSI-2 192.168.131.140

Portal discovery iSCSI on ProdNode1 went to 192.168.130.110 192.168.130.101 and 192.168.131.110 192.168.131.101 each of the other servers Discovery Portal have been pairs like this.

iSCSI tab click on add 8 MPIO sessions at each of the ports on the MD3200i from Dell, target. For example, I added 1 session of 192.168.130.101 using it. Add Session,--> activate--> Advanced Mutlipath--> Local--> IP 192.168.130.110 initiator and target 192.168.131.101 iSCSI adapter. This is repeated on all servers. 4 connections for each NIC.

The network is very slow. It revolved around 2 to 4 MB/MIN and it should be much faster. Initially, we had only the Cisco switch with only 1 VLAN and everything connected directly to it. I read somewhere that MPIO has been the problem, so I went through the same configuration but does not verify the MPIO checkbox above. Once this has been done, the network speed went up to 1.5 GB/Min but modular storage Dell was not happy, and virtual servers would fail and the connection is not very stable.

What wrong with my setup? Can I directly home and fix the servers directly to the PowerVault and will make stable and allow for failover and redundancy NIC? I need to get this stable so I can move with something else.

    Thank you Ron

  • [Beginner] Reference Dell Audio and SD Realtek Audio Manager

    Hello world!

A few days ago, I bought my first Dell: it's an Inspiron 15 3537. So far so good. Installed Windows 7 64 bit and some drivers, including ALC3223 Realtek High-Definition Audio Driver. Now, the sound is perfect when it's speakers, but all the times that no matter what sound plays on the helmet (the portable computer has a combo Jack), he is very strong and there is a unpleasant noise. If there is no sounds play, after a few seconds, the noise stops. (edit) The gentle sound remains the same regardless of the volume and does not grow stronger if the volume is turned up.

I tried to adjust things in the sound menu, searched for solutions online and my best bet would have been accessing the Realtek audio Manager.

But after installing the latest driver Realtek, I get only Audio from Dell, and it isn't much help. Looking for a Realtek in the control panel or in folders only leads to the Audio from Dell. Here, I discovered why the strange whistling sound in the headphones will stop when no sounds are played, but I can't find anything to make the noise go away:

What the Dell? While I hoped something like this (taken from the internet):

So, can someone tell me why my laptop is Dell Audio when I install Realtek driver? Can I "non-Dell' Realtek Audio Manager on my laptop? And suggestions to reduce the background noise in the headphones?

Hello. Dell and Realtek replaced the DD Realtek Audio Manager with Dell's Audio Manager on Dell laptops. I don't know why. The DD Realtek Audio Manager can provide a separate headphone and speakers, volume control while the Dell version can not. Several people have reported that even when they download & install a driver directly from Realtek site, Dell Manager returns. I do not know how to defeat that (I don't have Realtek on my laptop and not the one who has it posted a method).

You can use an online with the headphone volume control. My Latitude with IDT is not the problem of the headphone volume a lot of laptops from Realtek, but I use Koss control just because it's convenient. It's a short extension for headphones with a cursor of volume built in mitigation.

Regarding the drivers, Dell has only one for your model out for Win7. The only other drivers Realtek would be on the Realtek site. You can also use the native Windows audio driver. To switch to it from the Realtek, follow these steps:

    1. open Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press ENTER).
    2. develop the 'audio controllers, video & game' and right click on "Realtek High Definition Audio".
3 Select this option to "Update driver software".
    4. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
    5. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
    6. put the "Show compatible hardware" check box if not already checked.
    7. in the list of devices, click on 'High Definition Audio"(native driver).
    8. click on "next".
    9. in the update driver warning box, click 'Yes' (the driver).
10 restart the portable computer if you are prompted. If not invited, so no need to restart.
[To return to the Realtek driver, do it again but reverse the names in steps 1-6.]

If you still get the hissing or background noise with the native driver, then it is almost certainly in the material. If the noises disappear when you use the native driver, then they are caused by the driver from Realtek.
