Reinstallation CD

No CD came with my laptop HP Pavilion g6. What should I do if I need to reinstall Windows 7?

Hello:

While you should be able to order as set of recovery disc for your laptop by following the instructions on the link below, you can make your own set of recovery disks on your programs menu, select the HP Recovery Manager program and there should be a menu to create recovery discs.

There should also be a recovery partition to restore to the factory settngs if need be.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00810334

I encourage to do the recovery discs, put them in the boxes and store them somewhere you'll remember where they are.

  • FINGER PRINT BIOMETRIC ON MY HP PAVILION dv6 NO longer WORK AFTER REINSTALLATION o/s

The portable biometric finger print on my HP Pavilion dv6 PC device does not work.

    I get the message:

    1. the fingerprint reader is not detected (during startup before connect you).

    2. Windows has detected none of the biometric devices on this computer (when I checked via Control Panel).

I went into this challenge when I reinstalled my OS windows 7 after I realized that I had some corrupted files and could not install HP printer on my computer.  Unfortunately, I don't have the original restore file so I had to reformatting and reinstallation of the o/s.

Help, please.  My operating system is Windows 7 ultimate.

    CECOM,

You have an older model of the dv6 series.

Your computer wants to turn the Digital Persona of the security of the software version.  During their early years, HP sometimes referred to as HP SimplePass RFP software; the programs are actually two pieces of code and are not associated with another, except that they are doing a similar job and both do not use a fingerprint device driver.

You want to install the driver of device fingerprints first on this page: fingerprints of validity sensor driver

Restart the computer and log in.

Then, install the Digital Persona software from this Page: HP SimplePass by Digital Persona

Restart the computer and log in.

The fingerprinting program should appear - I think (it's been several years I saw him) in your bar tasks, or perhaps as an icon on your desktop.  Click to open and start.

I think there is a built-in Help file, too.

There's a little more: you want to export your webcards (passwords and Web pages).  When you get up the fingerprinter configuration, I think backup (in this version) is under "backup and restore" in the lower left corner.

    Good luck!

This can help, although I'm not sure about the content, or if it relates to your version of RFP:

I am sorry to be so vague - I used to know what is good; It has been long since I supported this package and my DP V5.2 release notes are lacking.

I have a HP Pavilion zd7000 that bad on the hard drive. I bought another and used the reinstallation disc to reinstall Windows Home Edition.  Everything seemed to go well, but it starts now to a HP Invent logo black screen that says press F10 to go together to the top and F12 at startup of Lan.  Then, a second black screen appears that says press F1 to resume or F10 Setup.  I press F1 and Windows loads very well.  What can I do to have Windows load immediately without going through this?  Any help will be greatly appreciated!  Thank you much in advance!

    EverWin... IT WORKED! Hello

Check your level of service current pack...

    • Hold down the Windows (between Ctrl and Alt) key and press Pause break
    • Examine what is listed in the system: section

If there is no service pack designated first level you must download SP2 from...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=28

.. .and then run the downloaded program to install SP2.

Once you have done this, or if you were already in service pack 1, 1a or 2, then install SP3 by downloading and running from...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=24

For both of the above, you can ignore the text that says it's for network installations and also ignore the text advising windows/microsoft update if a single update of a PC.

So try and get up-to-date with the Windows updates.

  • loss of activation key for a reinstallation of Windows XP sp2 cd. P/N KY938 rating

Hello. I used a (Ms Win XP Pro Sp 2) dell reinstallation CD to format my laptop (it came with the laptop). later, I discovered that I had lost the activation key. I can't activate it online cos it keeps asking for the key. Please, can someone help me? It's pretty urgent!
the disc has a notation ' P/N KY938' down, and it's under Copyright 2007 MS corporation. .. more! God bless u!

If you install a Dell supplied CD/DVD restore on Dell computer that it shipped with it should never ask the COA/key... The only time where I came across a plant from a Dell CD/DVD requiring a COA/key is because it has been installed on the non-Dell hardware. He has scoped during the installation of the system on which it was delivered with.

I don't think that Dell will sell you a new set with installation of COST but can Microsoft. Not sure about the cost.

  • Reinstallation of Windows Media Center XP error, the application failed to initialize properly (0xc000135

I had to install a new hard drive after the death of my old. I use my Dell recovery/reinstallation disk. The first time I tried installing that it froze after the reboot. I then did a repair installation (twice) and each time got the following error:

    PxShare.exe Application error.

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000135).  Click OK to close the application.

It appears at the end of the installation, but when my login screen is displayed, it shows only one account, administrator and request a password. I have not configured any accounts when I did the installation and you do not have a password. I tried to enter without password, using admin as password and check-in safe mode did not help - it still asked for a password.

I don't know if the two problems are related or not.

    Thanks for any help!

  • During the reinstallation of XP, message "Please wait" frozen and inactive computer

Recently, I tried to reinstall Windows XP SP2 from an installation disc that came with my computer. Before reinstallation, it was under XP SP3.

He went through the installation process. It appeared that the installation is complete. It restarted (for the second time during the installation) and engaged in the usual Windows XP loading screen and now froze on a similar screen that displays the message "Please wait" instead of the loading bar. I waited for several hours, and the screen has not changed. The computer makes no noise and doesn't seem to be something.

    What should I do?

    Hello

    ·        You are able to boot into safe mode without any problem?

    ·        Did you do a fresh install with formatting or without formatting the hard drive?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to disconnect all external peripheral devices that are connected on the system such as (printers, scanners, etc.) and check if you are able to boot to the desktop.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

I suggest to start in safe mode and check. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. restart the computer and keep tapping F8 until you reach the start menu.

    b. Select the startup options safe mode and press to enter.

If you are able to boot into safe mode without any problems then, it might be a problem with the graphics card drivers that are installed on the system. I suggest to disable the video card drivers from the start in safe mode and then try to boot to the desktop and check.

    Step 2:

To turn off the graphics card driver, follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. click on Start menu and click Control Panel.

    b. click System and click the Hardware tab.

    c. click the Device Manager button and right-click on the graphics card driver that is present.

    d. click on uninstall and then try to boot to the desktop and check.

    Thanks and regards.

  • I want to install the backup feature in Windows XP. The instructions say to put the Windows XP CD in the computer. I can only find the reinstallation CD "for XP Home Edition, including Service Pack 1" which is the correct CD or is there another?

This CD is the 'Windows XP' CD?  What he should say about it?  How CD supplied with Windows XP (my computer is probably 4 years old).  I need to install the backup feature in Windows XP.  I cannot find a single CD only and not know if it is right - it's the reinstallation CD.  I don't want to reinstall windows XP. I want to just install the backup feature.

    Hi AlexandraCALIF,

Thanks for posting. The XP CD that the system is referring to is your XP (maybe not the reinstallation CD) installation CD.  I would test of the first reinstallation CD to see if it has components which seeks the system. If it isn't you need to contact your manufacturer and get a CD of the OS on their part.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.

    Stop 0 x 124 is a hardware error
If you are overclocking try to reset your settings to standard processor and see if that helps.
If you keep getting the BSOD here are things more than you may want.

This is usually hardware related, defective heat, memory or processor even if it is "possible" he is associated (rare) driver.

Stop 0 x 124 - what it means and what to try

    Synopsis:
A "stop 0 x 124" is fundamentally different from many other types of bluescreens because it arises from a complaint of material.
Stop 0 x 124 minidumps contain very little concrete information, and it is therefore necessary to address the problem as a case of material in an unknown state of distress.

    Generic troubleshooting ' Stop 0 x 124 ":

    1) to ensure that none of the hardware components are overclocked. Material which is pushed beyond its design specifications - by overclocking - may malfunction in unpredictable ways.
    (2) ensure that the machine is sufficiently cooled.
If there is doubt, open the side of the case (be aware of all the relevant conditions guaranteed!) PC and direct an electric fan squarely to the motherboard. Who will rule on most cooling problems (lack of).
    3) update all drivers related to materials: video, sound, RAID (if applicable), NIC... anything that interacts with a piece of hardware.
It is best to run the latest drivers anyway.
    (4) update the BIOS of your motherboard according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Their website should provide detailed instructions on the brand and model-specific procedure.
    (5) rarely, bugs in the operating system may cause "false positives" 0 x 124 events where the hardware wasn't complaining, but Windows thought otherwise (because of the bug).
At the time of writing, Windows 7 does not have to suffer from a defect, but it is nevertheless important to keep Windows up-to-date.
    6) trying (stress) test these hardware components that can be put to the test artificially.
The most obvious examples are the RAM and HDD (s).
For the RAM, use diagnostics from built-in memory (run MDSCHED) or the utility memtest86 3rd - party to run plenty of evidence of hours of testing.
For hard drives, verify if CHKDSK /R finds any problems on (s), including "bad sectors".
Unreliable RAM, in particular, is mortal, as well as software, and anything other than a 100% clear memory test result is cause for concern. Unfortunately, even a 100% clear result the diagnostic utilities does not guarantee that the RAM is free of any defect - only that none have been encountered during the test passes.
    7) as the last of the non-invasive troubleshooting steps, perform a "Vanilla" Windows reinstallation: just the OS itself without additional applications, games, utilities, updates, new drivers - or ANYTHING that does not come from the Windows 7 disc.

Who stops working mitigate the problem of the 0 x 124, jump to the next step.
If you run the "Vanilla" installation long enough to convince yourself that not a single 0 x 124 accident occurred, start installing applications and updates slowly, always stopping between successive additions long enough to get an idea of the question if the machine is still free of 0 x 124 breaks down.
Smash back, obviously the latest addition of software may be somehow connected to the root cause.
If the stop error 0 x 124 persist despite the above steps, and the equipment is under warranty, consider to go back and ask for a replacement that does not suffer periodic MCE events.
Be aware that want to perform the subsequent hardware troubleshooting steps can, in some cases, void your warranty:
    (8) clean and carefully remove the dust inside the machine.
Reinstall all memory modules and connectors.
Use a can of compressed air to clean the RAM DIMM supports as much as possible.
    (9) If all else fails, start removing items of hardware one by one in the hope that the culprit is something non-essential that can be eliminated.
Obviously, this type of testing is much easier if you have access to equivalent components in order to perform swaps.

If you are in the situation to have completed all the steps above without a resolution of the symptom, unfortunately the most likely reason is that the error message is literally correct - something is fundamentally wrong with the hardware of the machine.

    Follow the steps mentioned below:

    Step 1: Uninstall an update

Try to uninstall an update which is reinstalled several times, by following the steps mentioned in the link

    Remove an update

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

Step 2: Reinstall the update even

Now, restart the computer and updates to install back again.

    Check also:

Windows Update or Microsoft Update repeatedly offers the same update

Note: Updates to Windows does not work safe mode. You can download and install manually but not otherwise when in safe mode.

Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    People,

I have a Dell Inspiron 19. The Dell of Dell diagnostics disk utilities & drivers say all right. It is a Seagate 320 GB drive. I installed the drive on another computer and used sea tools to erase the disc.  Then I created a partition and marked as "bootable".

When I try to use the Dell reinstallation DVD Windows 7 Home premium SP1 64-bit, it crashes when is about to display the windows logo.  A few pixels logo show and then it's there.  Any ideas?  I worked on it for several days.  Really a "stumper" for me and I did something like that for years!

Original problem seems to be a massive viral infection (owner had no active antivirus software installation!) which led to the non-bootable computer.  After working on this for a while, I decided to just do again it.
