GhostyKnight,
Make sure that you have tried the options listed in this thread: XP without boot troubleshooting.

When you are in the Windows Advanced Options menu you have the option 'Disable the restart in the event of system failure?'   If you select this option, and then instead of restart it will be stops on a screen with an error message.  Then, you can search for the error message or post in this thread and we can help with the search in there. Please note this step #9

    If the activation service informs you that she has failed and cannot help with activation, then STAY ON THE LINE and your call will be transferred to an operator of activation which will help you to activate your copy of Vista. The operator will give you all the numbers to ID of Confirmation if they accept that your copy of Vista is legitimate.
    NOTE: The operator just explain your situation and what you did to require activation. (EX: hardware upgrade, installed Vista on a new computer after uninstalling it from the old one, etc...)

    My windows Explorer stops working when I try to use the file menu on a file. If a file is selected in a folder that windows Explorer will be display Windows Explorer has stopped working the message box. This occurs only if a file is already selected and you click on the file option in the menu bar. All the other menu items work well if a file is selected or not, and if no file is selected the menu file works fine. I already ran SFC/scannow from the command prompt, but it returns no violation.

    Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft community forum!

    I understand that you are having problems with Windows Explorer. I'll help you solve the problem. To be able to understand the question in a better way, I would like to ask you a few questions.

    (1) did you make any changes before the show?

    (2) how often does the problem occur?

    Method 1:

    Step 1: You can check if the same problem occurs in safe mode.

    Please follow the link on how to start the computer in SafeMode below.

    Step 2: Perform a clean boot.

    WARNING: Perform a restore of the system can change your settings and delete your unsaved data. Do it at your own discretion.

    Can I use the Vista license that I have just upgraded to windows 7 Upgrade a computer is currently using XP?

    Can I use the Vista license that I have just upgraded to windows 7 Upgrade a computer is currently using XP?

    Lol when you upgrade you send upwards with a license, not two. The license of Vista is subsumed in Windows 7 one and can no longer be used. This is the reason for which an upgrade is cheaper than licensed full.

  • By using the system restore before computer restart after updating Windows 10...

    I chose to try the upgrade of Windows 10 on my laptop primary.  Because of the long installation times, I started late in the evening then followed finishing (or almost) the update the next morning.  Until I sat down to 'start' I spoke with a friend who had just completed an installation of two heavy day of problems.    Although I am good enough to solve computer OS and software installation problems, I was very reluctant to go forward.   After serious soul searching I elected continue to use Windows 7, I don't really like.

    That's why I chose to use the system restore before restarting my computer needed complete Windows Update 10.  I chose the previous restore point before the update of windows 10 and ran through the entire procedure and then restarted the computer after the restore point.

    Everything worked fine and I was able to do the foregoing... Except that I can't do updates of security that have been uninstalled.   The Windows Update screen repeat "you must restart your computer...". "with the reboot by holding the active button.

    This window doesn't go away even after reboot, and I can not "check for Updates".

    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to reset this program if I can do all the updates except Windows 10 security.

    Thank you for any assistance.

    By using the system restore before computer restart after updating Windows 10...

    Sorry, System Restore does not cancel the major updates, that's why a lot of automatic updates delete all system restore points. The tool that is appropriate in this case would be a restore Image. If you have not created an image before the upgrade, then you are out of luck.

  • I want to install windows 7 arc gamer edition. I m using the new copy to install from dvd, it goes well until the installation of the updates, but installation ends, it displays error windows could not update

    I have windows 7 ultimate works correctly. I want to install windows 7 arc gamer edition. I m using the new copy to install from dvd, he is well until the installation of the updates but the installation finished, it displays error windows could not update the configuration to start the computer.  not installing and it rolls supports everything. Please help me solve this problem

    original title: windows 7 gamer edition

    Download of software on these sites can be very risky, because the origin of the files are usually edited and its quite possible that they could have injected malicious code in it.

    Windows 7 Gamer edition is not a developed Microsoft or affiliated with the product, what appears to be a customized image of Windows 7 that authors customized to remove or add Windows components, which can also be very problematic.

    You use something that no one can help you consider he has probably been reverse engineered and probably injected by a malicious code like spyware (keyloggers, rootkits, worms, viruses). I suggest you stick to Windows 7 Ultimate, this is the most complete edition of Windows 7, anyone can have.

  • Reinstall windows 7 Home premium 64 more Professional 32-bit I

    I'm in trouble. Recently, I paid a techie local to reinstall Windows.  I had W7 Home Premium 64-bit installed but it installed W7 32-bit professional.  I am trying to reinstall Home Premium 64bits but the installation process will not work

    I get a message saying that the version on the disc is not compatible. He said that I should reboot with the installation disc, but it doesn't work either. The installation process does not start.  Research on the net, it seems perhaps not possible to move from a 32-bit to a 64-bit if it is a different level of Windows. Is there a way to turn it?  If this is not the case, can I initialize the C drive and reinstall W7 Home Premium 64-bit from the installation disc?  Finally Microsoft support say Icould upgrade to W8.1 64-bit. Would this work?

    Hello quinndg,

    We are sorry for your inconvenience. Earlier you didn't provide us with the error code exact that you met. In any case, the thread of the help you have linked, shows us other methods to create a bootable media. The most useful solution of this thread provides information about manually creating installation media. Have you tried?

    Alternatively, you can find some useful resources here to create a bootable USB device. Give it a shot and let us know. Hope this helps,

  • Windows\System32\Config\System 0xC0000225: Reinstall windows: System missing or corrupt registry

    having the same problems on a laptop Gateway MG1 - P.

    Poor little was a release of the bed when a baby has been jumpy jumpy (dec 2009)

    Was dead for three days after, slowly regenerated light WiFi, then bright keyboard - and the after CCF erase, but vista has continued to crash randomly. NOW, that's all I get, even @ beginning of last known good config there is just a flash of blue screen of death and then total darkness. All, of course at the least convenient time!  Not sure if the upgrade to windows 7 will do anything for me, other complaints. I noticed a tear in the carrot of food, which I checked after obtaining a static shock from the keyboard. Other than that, never heard the fan kick while helping it, until autumn - and then it hot and it emits a groan low but treble inside just before the reversal of the blue screen of death and lock up. When the computer reboots, would automatically go through several attempts of cmdchk, would be to delete info. Not every time, at random. Worry me @ first thought, it could be a bug.

    Back up your data, and then reinstall it.

    We can only give advice where you have access to normal methods to use the methods shown.

    Data recovery:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
  • Re-install Windows 7 Professional by using the product key?
    Original title: Windows 7 Professional.
    Hello
    I just bought a pc that was advertised on facebook, he has Windows 7 Professional installed, I asked if he had the drive, but I was told that it has been installed by a computer scientist with a purchased product key.
    I want to reformat the h/d and to reinstall the software, how can I do this using the product key?
    Concerning
    TonyB76
    Hello Tony
    It depends on the type of license that is on the PC. to determine this, the simplest method is to run the MGADiag tool:
    Download MGADiag (by Microsoft) from the link below:
    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012
    Run the tool by double-clicking the file. Press to continue when prompted
    When it is finished, press on copy and then paste (Ctrl + V) in your next post please
    Please also indicate which version of windows is mentioned on your COA sticker (if you have one) but do not publish the key.
  • Upgrade in Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional by using the OEM System Builder Pack
    I built a computer and initially installed Windows 7 Home Premium using an OEM System Builder Pack. Now, I want to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. I have a new OEM System Builder Pack for Windows 7 Professional. How can I do this without losing the files, data, documents, etc., and I can put this copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on another computer? It is a personal computer only. Thank you.
    Unfortunately, you will need to do an install custom, which means that your applications and drivers will need to be reinstalled.
    If you want to keep your personal files, you can use the custom installation of the configuration to do:
    Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
    When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
    Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.
    You will receive the following warning:
    The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
    (At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
    The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
    Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
    You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
  • I reinstalled Windows, doesn't have a backup Firefox bookmarks (I tought Firefox Sync that will do for me) and now it seems I've lost them. What can I do?
    After reinstalling Windows and reinstall Firefox, I had firefox sync with (I think) a new product key, because the former was lost. After all the steps when finished and by pressing the sync now button, no synchronization has been made. None of the old don't bookmarks links or directories we are restored. Help, please! Thank you.
    You get your data from the server without the adequate SyncKey key, which is used to encrypt your data to go on the server and decrypted when it is uploaded to Firefox. When you get a new SyncKey to an account, the server is removed from all your data, so it does not fall into the wrong hands.
