I am able to get into my e-mail and other programs, but the note on my renewal says that I have 7 days only left on my contract. I should have 2 years. You can correct this information for me? Thank you Roy Ulrich

  • I just installed AVG Security, FireFox is now really slow, what to do?

I don't know if it's problems with Internet or a coincidence that I just installed AVG. But now my FireFox & general link is so slow - FireFox wouldn't start even in a first time.

First of all, please update to 25 of Firefox, Firefox update to the latest version, then my suggestion is to uninstall AVG and use your Microsoft security Essentials anti-virus.

  • Can someone advise me on AVG Secure startup and file tree bloat remains removal search suggestions?

Recently, I used the solution to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/927950?page=2#answer-364990 by KerriB. It worked. However, I still found traces of the bloatware in two other places. Not sure if I should remove them or not. Suggestions? I've included pictures of the locations (slightly rewritten for security reasons).

We're in my startup programs. Access: Mouseover an open space on your desktop. Press the Windows key and the R key at the same time. A dialog box appears. Type msconfig. Click the Startup tab. It lists all the programs that start at startup. As you can see, ask VProtect and ROC_roc_ssl_v12 are listed as unknown manufacturer, but in the file tree, they are in C:\Program AVG safe search.

The other location is accessible via start, then choosing computer, drive Local (c) (your local drive can be a different letter, obviously), Program Files. As you can see, there are a whole folder FILLED with elements of AVG safe Search.

I have a support ticket open with AVG on this issue, but it is the weekend, I can not hear back for a few days. I'll let everyone know what they advise when back from them, I hear.

    UPDATE:

I complained to AVG, and they offered me a free license for their 2012 AVG Premium paid... Security edition o.O... anyway, I wrote them back asking about the remains above and they responded by sending me a download of a special uninstall program (you have to install - go irony!). I have included a picture of this email (3).

After running the uninstall program, I ran a cleaning of the system, and a deep cleaning run Advanced Systemcare (my favorite Cleanup utility), did a restart, then did a search for 'AVG '.

As you can see (picture 4), I * STILL * had a folder filled with AVG, accessible by clicking on start, computer, C:\.

I've done a shred secure deletion (again, and Advanced Systemcare tool, but simply to delete probably would be nice) this folder of AVG. Yet once, I ran a cleaning system, and a deep cleaning run Advanced Systemcare (my favorite Cleanup utility), did a restart, then did a search for 'AVG '. This time, nothing came. Great! right? No. I wanted to be * SURE * it was ALL gone, so I opened Windows Defender (the included firewall that comes with Windows 7), expanded the menu on the drives to be analyzed and down-and-this is, look, you know, a $AVG (image 5) HIDDEN folder!

Now, I have to show all hidden folders to find. Which is done by clicking on start, control panel (change display by: small icons), Options records, (popup window), display tab, then check the selection dot next to "Show hidden files, folders and drives", apply, OK (see image 6 for description). Now go back to start, computer, C:\, and it should show the hidden $AVG folder. If that does not show it, you can also do a search and delete the search results folder. Yet ONCE, I ran a cleaning system, and a deep cleaning run Advanced Systemcare (my favorite Cleanup utility), did a restart, then did a search for 'AVG '.

I feel now that I am completely free of AVG. I hope this helps you get rid of it too!

Always if no joy, reinstall the program. Then uninstall it. Then, run the mover.

    Hi Tony405,

    ·         What web browser do you use?

If you use Internet Explorer, and then run Internet Explorer mode without modules and verify if the issue still persists.

To determine if the error is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode To do this, follow these steps:

Run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode

    a. click Startand type Internet Explorer in the box to start the search.

    b. click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Internet Explorer opens without Add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.

    c. test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly.

You can also follow step 4 of section to disable without add-on.

  • AVG and WINDOWS SECURITY problems 8

Since the installation of Windows 8 Pro, the operating system is not recognizing my AVG Internet Security 2013 and Red Guard scoring only two windows and

    AVG Security are turned off.

When I try and turn on AVG, nothing happens. The AVG Control Center is showing that my computer is fully protected, and all systems work

    correctly.

As a temporary measure, I can turn off all Windows follow-up or activate the Windows Firewall and defender. I currently use the latter.

I worked for a while with the support staff AVG, which were extremely useful, but we all verification, we can. Their point of view is that it is a

Problem of Windows 8, because it worked perfectly under Windows 7 Home Premium, and I agree.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone can shed some light on my problem.

FYI main Hugh Parker my e-mail address is * address email is removed from the privacy *

I had this problem too. I looked and looked for a solution without success. But there is a simple solution that I accidentally discovered the problem.

    1. go in Control Panel > administrative tools and run Disk Cleanup
2 when the disk cleanup is finished to calculate how much space can be freed, click Clean Up system files.
3 disk Cleanup recalculates and when to ensure that there is a check mark next to the Windows Clean-up update.
    4. click OK (depending on the amount of the Windows Update files to clean it can take some time.)
    5. When this is done, restart your PC/laptop.

The problem should be solved, at least it was for me, if there is no 100% guarantee.

  • New to Firefox. Should what modules I launch? Pushes its antivirus AVG toolbar. Is this necessary?

RELATING to the safety and security: are there additional modules should I run?

While I was on Chrome I got the feeling that Google was a form of filtering or come with caveats.

Mozilla automatically notify me if there are search results or links ladle or should I add a few 3rd party software like AVG toolbar?

Firefox has many built-in security features. AVG security toolbar is especially snake oil, it of pretty useless and can cause other issues. You can discover the list of modules to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

I would suggest you try www.adblockplus.org, it's the extension only "must use" I would say

  • Delete AVG Search add-on

I tried this for a while, but it doesn't seem anyone actually removed. I have seen that messages from people turn it off and resetting the page by default, etc.. I actually want to REMOVE, but the function remove on the search of AVG security does nothing, for example the help button and other options open something, or of the information, but if I click on the option ' Hide/uninstall' then nothing will happen.

    http://S30.postimg.org/lsylkw3k1/AVG_Search.PNG

As you can see there is no option 'remove '.

Some programs will not be able to be uninstalled via the control panel. You can search the AVG toolbar in the Add/Remove programs in the control panel section.
