Rescue & recovery problem

I have a t61p. I also have the full Lenovo product recovery discs.  I wanted to give my laptop a charity so I decided to use the disks RRD to restore laptop to factory settings.  I used the completely erase the HD and restore disks.  It went well until the end.  Now whenever it starts up it comes up with the RR menu.  I'm not coming with WinXP that was installed initially.  I have not all discs in WinXP.  It is on the Lenovo product recovery discs?

I thought that would restore it on the PRD discs original settings but I can do something wrong.

Help!

Stiltrying

I found the answer via Google and here it is for anyone who has the same problem.

1. If you have the Lenovo product recovery disks then run the complete set of disks.  This will completely erase your hard drive and copy backup the original factory programs.

2. Once you have done this, restart your laptop and it will go back to the right in the Rescue and Recovery menu.

This time, just say to restore settings without using any cd inserted in the cd drive.

Apparently, all the first no execution is copy the programs to HD.  When you run the second time without the disks, there is no drive, the operating system, installation etc. Since the copied files.

  • ThinkPad T420 recovery problem

    Hi all

    I need your help. I have a problem with ThinkPad T420. When I am pressing ThinkVintage or F11 to get into recovery, it loads and then I get this message below;

    Link to image

Don't know how to solve this problem, thank you!

If partitions System_DRV and Lenovo_Recovery (q) has not been resized or corrupt, R & R should work. So, I guess to upgrade/reinstall application Lenovo Rescue & recovery via ThinkVantage System Update because there are a lot of conditions to perform this task manually (eg. There are several options for deployment and language packs).

If this does not help, it could be better and more quickly to create a Lenovo recovery media, it's almost the same Lenovo recovery environment you try to start using BB or F11:
-make it from Lenovo R & R application, advanced mode, rescue media
    - or simply deploy a .iso file image:
    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Lenovo\Rescue and Recovery\rrcd

Note, in any case, it is a good practice to have this rescue media.

If you want to reset the laptop to the factory scene, do it from recovery media factory Lenovo.

  • Cannot start environmental Rescue & Recovery

What should be the reason why I can't boot into the environment ThinkVantage Rescue & recovery? After setting hard drive in the BIOS and make pasword recovery defined media, I realized that I can't boot into rescue & recovery. When I push the ThinkVantage button at starup I get stright in the BIOS Setup. Can anyone help to resolve the issue?

Well, finally I solved the problem without having to reinstall the system. During the boot precess after ThinkVantage touches there is a screen with options (1) to access the bios; (2) to resume normal sturtup; (3) and something about the recovery of the system (I don't remember exactly as I have been unable to repeat the conditions. By pressing F11, I chose option (3) and R & R logo has appeared on my screen. When I started the next time after pressing ThinkVantage I directly in environmental R & R. So it seems that he has no probplems more.

  • Install Rescue & Recovery on Windows 7?

X61s running Win7 beta build 7000, though. Base OS = Vista Business

Last month, I have rebuilt the drive using the base image - during the rebuild, I chose not to install a Lenovo Rescue & recovery (R & R). So, I can not access the rebuild option in the start menu.

R & R facility tests the operating system running and does not install under Win7.

No idea how I might be able to access partition image on startup without R &R; or a way to install R & R and have 'ignore' the OS installed?

I was able to install by setting the Vista SP2 compatibility mode.

    Hello world.

On my T60 (2008-VPT) with Windows XP SP3, I have installed a (Verbatim 240 GB) SSD. I made a clone of the old HD on the new SSD and that I installed it on the T60.

Everything is fine, but when I try to do a backup with rescue & recovery 4.23, after 1 hour BLUE SCREEN opens.

With the swap file, the message was KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR, I don't put no pagefile, but another screen of blue hour, without display of previous message, but only with the 0x000000F4 error code (0 x 00000003, 0x898E9DA0, 0x898E9F14, 0x805D22AA).

  • Rescue and recovery - problem with restore

I think I know what the problem is but not how to fix...

ThinkPad T61p running 64-bit Windows 7.  Replacing the hard drive, no recovery partition.  R & R to USB backup.

I was diligent to make backups every week, but in September last my backup USB drive was almost full, so I bought a new.  I used R & R to prepare the new disk and which seems to work very well so I continued with my weekly backups sent to the new drive.  I got some of the files in the backup when I accidentally deleted them so I assumed everything was in good condition.

    I was wrong.

A few days ago, I messed up my email and went to restore from my backup taken a few hours before.  Any attempt to have failed with an error message "the list box identifier was not found.  So, I tried a full system restore.  In point 40% it abandoned leaving the hard drive in a State that won't start plu, which could not be fixed with the repair tool on the Win7 installation DVD.

I was able to restore a system from the old USB drive as dated September 8, 2012.  My problem is the missing 5 months of e-mail.  It is saved on the drive again, but I can't restore it.

I have an idea what the problem could be, namely the absence of a "Basic" backup on the new drive.  Logical when you think about it, but of course, when you create the backup system I don't have.

There is space on the new USB drive to copy over ALL the backups of the old drive, but I'm afraid of the farce of things even more.  I make images of two disks before you start fiddling with.  During this time I can't see in the RRBackups directory, at least on Windows 7.  I mounted the old drive on linux, and from there, I can look inside RRBackups.  There is a directory that contains what seems to be the 'Base' and another that holds incremental backups. I have not tried the same thing with the new drive, because it is always to be graphic.

On each disk, there are a lot of empty directories with names long empty of meaning.  I have no idea this is.

Incremental backups seem to live inside the numbered directories 1-32 (for example).  As I have not looked at the new USB I don't know if the numbering continues to 33 (in this example) or starts from 1.  I guess that things will be a little easier if the numbering does NOT start again from 1.  In this case, it may be possible to copy all the backups on the new drive.  Also maybe you can only backup "Core" is necessary.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, then please respond.  The objective remains to get the files from e-mail from my latest backup (on the new USB.  I don't like anything else.

    This response will be shorter.

    (1) area of dreaded list.  Your recent incremental restore to EMAIL worked fine (Feb incremental 2013 had the file). NO error in list box.   When you wanted older files in this series, she had to return to base backup (05 dec 2012) list box-error.  The restore list made its way to the basis of searching for files. Restoring single files in the database fails with the message list box.  This basic restore also fails with the error message (rnr old or such).

But you mixed and matched the base backups.  I'm glad you're current Email (your goal).

HUmm. the new USB-based backup is suspicious. You have 4 ways to start RNR. Current C (windows platform), stand-alone C (PF11), Old usb, new boot usb boot.  Looks that all of your software startup RNR is 4.3. I don't understand how a backup and understand what liberation did the backup.  It's in France somewhere in there.

To determine which software RNR boot on the USB, go to USB:\preboot\sysinfo\sinfo.exe and PROPERTIES, Details tab you can also start the USB and hit to help? button on the screen of the RNR. On option.

I'm only interested in the RNR starting on new USB version. Please report it.  I'm not quite clear where you started the RNR when you tried to restore the 05 Dec. (pf11 or New boot usb used?).

    (2) something is not right on new usb (basic backup).  But your plan is to erase this. and c. current (large) backup. (so new boot RNR of the interface of media create).  For some strange reason, you think that your Base was taken with RNR (older or newer)... The base is not corrupted.  The start software does not match the backup file

    (3) blue ray RW.  It will be MUCH faster backup if you use blue ray R.

    Final summary:

    (1) another? How long have you used the NEW USB for backups? Do you have backups of vista on the new USB at a certain point in time?

    (2) my guess is that your NEW USB had rained stand-alone boot of RNR vista on it. (guess long shot). No bogus msg...

    (3) dec 05 backup log.

Look in the new USB, new uuid,\Common\rr.log. This will document your backup 05 dec. But they do no release levels

    in there.

    (4) Blue Ray backup RNR. To the restoration of this set:

    Disc 1 is boot.

    Intermediate DVD are given.

Finally, DVD, the table of contents. That is to say, Final.

Restore, use DISK 1.  It will then ask for final load, and then back to DVD 2.

    (5) had been working on was some scans color corrections I did a couple of years there are movies xxx, beautiful.

If your reset base seven 2012 did not, your 05 dec did not find it either.

    (6) I am honored to talk with you. Your work looks very good. I am a programmer to systems, LOL.

    Version numbers:

    Windows: 4.50.00.25.00

    Independent: 4.50.10.25.00

Not much. They will not match.

  • SSHD Toshiba MQ01ABD100H - Firmware / data recovery problem

    Hello!
I have the mission critical data on a MQ01ABD100H of Toshiba to SSHD which was in a Sony VAIO for less than one year who decided to stop working from one day to the next. All I care about is the data. A professional data recovery company apparently reputable rated player, told me that it was a "mechanical failure", said they could recover the data and gave me a quote of $1500.00. A week later I was told something different; They said the platters and heads seem to agree and the problem seems to be on the circuit board and/or flash drive, and they didn't know how to recover the data. They told me that they have consulted Toshiba too. I asked them if they replaced the pcb Board and they would not tell me or answer questions more. I have the drive in my hands and am looking for options. I really believe that my data is recoverable if the trays are okay, right?

Here's what I know for sure; the bios of the machine of Sony VAIO Windows 8.1, correctly recognizes the drive. However, it does not start and is not accessible or recognized with cmd prompt Windows 8.1 UEFI options. The drive is not encrypted. After putting the reader into an external enclosure and its connection to another Win8.1 machine, the player starts with no extreme sounds of survey. Slowly, she clicks a few times as if the heads are looking, but then calms down and keeps running quietly. I have installed a Data Rescue PC3 software that recognizes the drive and its attributes correctly but can't read or clone. I have the Partition Wizard software mini tool, which recognizes the drive correctly, but shows the drive as being unreadable.

That's what I'm trying to do. I'm looking for a donor on mine, with the same model drive, date, firmware, site, number of PCBS, hard drive code.

Now, here is my unknowns and I appreciate everyone a preview with these. If I change the pcb edge myself, I need still more likely transfer the firmware for the new Board of Directors, even if I try it without doing it. I don't know where the firmware is stored, is there a rom chip or is it stored in the Flash Player. I'm not certain if, with this model of SSHD, if this can be done with replacement of the chip or the software? If it is stored on the Flash drive how is available independent of the HHD part? Must the reader Flash itself be harvested? But what happens if the flash player is bad, how can the firmware ever be recovered? Any ideas anyone? ... other than myself shot in the head, I'm kidding. I think that this may be a common problem that will often not resolved.

I have the drive in my hands and am looking for options. I really believe that my data is recoverable if the trays are okay, right?

I am not an expert but if applications cannot access the data and cannot read data from the SSHD then you will need professional help...

I found the storage Toshiba page where you could get details on this SSHD
    http://Toshiba.SEMICON-storage.com/e...ient-sshd.html

    Mate good luck...

  • Backup failed through rescue recovery after HARD drive upgrade

    Hello

I have a T60p 8743 CTO with Vista Business. I upgraded from 2 GB to 4 GB and 100 GB to 500 GB HARD drive.

The process that I did was to replace the old HDD with a new one. Recovery discs to load the vista on the new HARD drive. Then loaded the last backup of the old HARD drive. I assumed that I had all the features of the tools think vantage on the new HARD drive too.

Now, I was intending to load the Linux operating system. Then when I tried to create a backup using rescue and recovery, I couldn't get fact.

Could you please suggest me if there is a mistake in the procedure above. How to solve the current problem?

Could I make a partition and load Linux with problem? I need Linux to my goal of research.

  • PORTEGE R100 CD-ROM recovery problem

Hi, I had a few problems of recovery PORTEGE R100. My problem is that when I try to reinstall the system with the recovery of the boot disk CD, it does not recognize the CD. The CD-ROM is not a TOSHIBA product. Is there any solution for this?

    Hello

It will be interesting to know if your external CD is a USB or PCMCIA device.

You must make a Windows startup disk and add drivers for your CD-ROM BACK drive and then you should be able to recover the machine with this CD.

  • Qosmio G20-108 Windows recovery problem.

    Hello

I just purchased a Qosmio G20-108 of ebay and the seller said that the laptop is ok but I had a virus previously and it wiped the HARD drive. The DVD player has so replaced it by a new one, but he couldn't just load the recovery of Windows Media Center. I bought the laptop thinking that I can fix it but I could not and now I felt stupid: (.)

When I turn it on, you receive this error message:

    ERROR ATA #1

Intel (r) Boot Agen FE v4.1.16
    Copyright (C) 1997-2004, Intel Corporation

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent.

Someone has an idea on how to solve this problem before sending it to the "Topaz" Support and cost me a fortune?

    Thank you.

If the DVD player is replaced, you are 100% sure it works well then you probably have a problem with faulty HARD drive.

If possible, try to get one for testing purposes. It can be used. Replace the HARD drive and try to install the top OS. Check if you have full access to the HARD drive.

  • HP Envy6 recovery problem

I own one like 6 1002TX laptop, the problem is that is the recovery partition is corrupted and the discs I got from the dealer is corrupted (2 of them) so basically I can not recover the laptop, is the second problem, I sent the laptop to the store retailer for recovery and they forgot that this model does not support any other windows software that comes with the laptop , so they tried to install windows 7 on a different drive and the installer stopped at one point and gives an error, something like "this windows software is not compaitible with this device" so now whenever I opened the laptop, it passes by the windows installation and after 5 seconds gives the same error and gets restarted.

I bought this laptop on July 27, 2012, and when I mentioned it to the HP support they said that they will send the disc but I have to pay the price of the software and the shipping cost and total cost will be about 1600-4000 INR.

This encrypted laptop me about 56000 INR and it is still under warranty and now this...

Is there another solution for this?

Tell me exactly if I update my windows to windows 8 via this link https://www.windowsupgradeoffer.com

will it work with my device?

Or can I use the laptop recovery disk the different 1002TX of envy 6 and run it on mine? will it work?

(Note that the unit is only a box with materials, there is no OS software.)

I don't know how the cost of your recovery disks can be in INR - more generally, HP does not charge a small fee for a recovery media.  HP recovery media is available for a limited time after the computer is made... IF you plan to buy records, you can consider doing before a long time.

There are alternatives to recovery discs purchased: you can burn your own discs ISO for Windows 7.  See this solution by our experts Paul_Tikkanen
