  Another potential cause of this problem is that the lock timeout is set too low:

  1. Select the address bar of Firefox (click or press CTRL + L)

  The computer will display the Apple TV as a device which we can connect to, but it never connects once it has been disconnected. It is a problem because teachers often connect to view a video and then disconnect so that they can work on their computers. If they try to reconnect, they need to restart their MacBook Air.

  Do you know when this started?  The simplest solution because I have no idea of what is happened to cause this is to restore the system to a point BEFORE this problem started (and give it a a few days to be sure).  If you use Windows 7, see:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html.
