Restore a program in Windows Defender.
My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium, my window Defender said, I got a suspicious file, that I stopped running. My question is in Window Defender under quarantine, it gives you options of the tree, delete all, delete, or restore. The problem is that you will be only to choose Remove all, not remove or restore. The question is how to restore this show if she will not allow you?
A special thanks to all those who answer.
What is your anti-virus program?
Windows Defender in Windows 7 is just a simpler Anti-Spyware program (and not an anti-virus program) and will be automatically deactivated as soon as any anti-virus program is installed correctly and working properly...
So: What's your anti-virus program?
In case you do not use Microsoft Security Essentials:

Otherwise, see for example here: choose an anti-virus program

OT: What about windows defender in windows 8.
Currently, my mcafee has expired and I uninstalled completely and wanted to start windows Defender but it does not start. I searched in the windows pane and click it, but nothing happens, when I went to the defender of the windows program files - and click the msascui.exe file, a message that came "windows cannot find"c:\program files\windows defender\msascui.exe'.make you typed the name currently, try again." I also tried starting Windows Defender under services.msc - but there is no options to select with, I've attached a screen captures for this.
Please help how to get my windows Defender works fine.
Hello
Did you use the McAfee removal tool when you uninstalled?
If not, run the removal tool, then try again activation of Windows Defender.
If it fails, run the following scans and try again to Windows Defender.

How to manage startup programs if Windows Defender open habit?
When I try to change startup programs, I get an error Windows Defender message: 0x800106ba when I click on the link to open Windows Defender. It used to open this way recently and I read that it might have something to do with other antivirus programs. I was not able to open Windows Defender for the month from the list of programs, but I've always been able to open it when I try to change startup programs, until, like yesterday. I tried running it as administrator and also to open it in the location of the file, but I get the same error message. So, how can I manage my startup programs? Windows Defender is not yet in the list "uninstall programs", but it's in the start menu.

When I go to run Windows Defender, I get this message: MSASCui.exe bad Image... C:\Program Files/Windows Defender/Mp.Rt.Mon.DLL is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support. McAfee should have disabled Windows Defender. If not, or if you did turn back on, you must turn it off. http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off Windows Defender cannot be uninstalled from the Vista OS, but can be disabled to avoid conflict with other programs.
You will probably need to uninstall Flash and reinstall it: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/
I don't really like to make a negative comment on an anti-malware program, but McAfee has a reputation for sometimes bogged down operating systems. If your problem persists, you will need to uninstall McAfee (to include using the McAfee removal tool) and see if that has any impact on your computer problems. If there is an improvement, you may consider trying another program BC

How to manage startup programs when Windows Defender is disabled?
How to manage what programs to start with Windows when Windows Defender is disabled? I am running Vista Home SP2 with Microsoft Security Essentials.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_is_msconfig_on_vista
You can use msconfig or the program below.
And search for particular software tools > Options re start.
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.
See you soon.

I am not able to turn on Windows Defender. Whenever I click on it on my Section of security/control panel, a message appears for a split second saying it's off, then disappears. Cannot uninstall Windows Defender Windows XP computer.
Original title: uninstall Windows Defender...
I am running Windows XP, Vista or 7. I downloaded Windows Defender on the MS site some time ago, but now I want it out for GOOD. Can I uninstall anything else on my list of programs except Windows Defender. When I asked him to remove the program, he said: I am running in SafeMode (no) or my Windows Installer is not installed properly (not). How can I get it my computer? I put it there, I should be able to take off, it shouldn't I? I wouldn't be able to decide what is on my own computer and what isn't?
Hello
- What exactly is the error message you reciev when you try to uninstall Windows Defender?
- You have Microsoft Security Essentials installed on the computer?
Microsoft Security Essentials has not automatically disabled Windows Defender in Vista or Windows 7, you must turn off to avoid conflicts. Windows Defender can't be uninstalled Vista or Windows 7.
If Microsoft Security Essentials does not automatically uninstall Windows Defender on XP, you must manually uninstall Windows Defender through Control Panel of configuration/Add / Remove programs. You can try the troubleshooting provided in the link below steps to resolve problems with installing and uninstalling the programs in Windows computers.

Windows Defender is disabled by Microsoft Security Essentials
I just uninstalled Windows Live One Care and installed Microsoft Security Essentials (the new free program). Windows Defender was always "off" under Windows Live One Care. Defender warned me that he can 'stops' also now that Microsoft Security Essentials is installed. Is it the way it should be? I have not any instruction on the site of Windows CE. Can you tell me please?
Solved. For some reason any installation IS does not stop Defender tries to start. Solution (as you would expect) must have Windows Defender off HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Run - exactly why Security Essentials is not beyond me...
