  • Migration of ACS for Windows 4.1 to ACS SE 4.2?

    Hello

    We currently have GANYMEDE + running on ACS 4.1 for Windows.  We want to replace this unit by ACS SE 4.2 (device).  Is it possible to backup/restore the database of the ACS for Windows 4.1 directly to the ACS SE 4.2?  Or requrie level of ACS software version?  Please notify.

    Thank you.

    Yes, it's quite valid; This new feature has been integrated in 4.2 ACS. You can not, however, restore 4.1 ACS in the last ACS 4.2.1.

    Once you have updated 4.2 ACS, ACS 4.2.1 can restore from ACS 4.2...

    For ACS 4.2:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_server_for_solution_engine/4.2/installation/guide/solution_engine/upgap.html#wp1173975

    For ACS 4.2.1:

    4.2.1 CSCsz96936 to remove the option restore 4.1 db. To support the restoration of 4.2 db

  • ACS Setup using CSACS-1121-K9

    1 - the advantages or disadvantages of ACS - 5.4 VM vs use

    2. can we have instance ACS - 5.4 VM configured as main and ACS unit as secondary

    Hey,.

    1 - a virtual machine performance is slower than on a real device from 1120 because of the overload of the virtual machine. A virtual machine performance increases when you increase the CPU resources.

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_contro...

    VM are built into your existing infrastructure of the vm.

    No additional hardware.

    Revival of the virtual machine is easy.

    2 - Yes

  • Migration of ACS of the device to windows server

    Hello

    Is it possible to migrate the ACS 4.2 device to microsoft server 2003?

    has tried it before?

    R/g

    There is no problem to migrate from the device of the CSA to ACS for windows.

    If you wish to do this, it is best that your ACS for window running the same version of the code in form of ACS appliance.

    You can do a backup on device ACS and restore it on ACS for windows.

    The one facing this problem before and grateful if someone can tell how to solve this problem.

    It is a known issue with ACS 5.3 However, we had this problem in ACS 5.3 patch 7 and 5.4 of the ACS

    Since you're under 5.4 ACS, it should not trigger.

    CSCtx53223    After update 5.3 ACS fail to join the domain AD - lack of license Centrify

    Symptom:

    After the upgrade from 5.2 to 5.3, ACS is unable to join the domain. AD connection worked for several days, until the services have been restarted. After this, ACS is unable to join AD with the following in ACSADAgent.log error message:

    Jan 20 02:36:32 CBR1BACS01 Bordes [6814]: DEBUGGING cli.adjoin Join to area is permitted only with a licensed copy of DirectControl. Obtain a license or learn more about Centrify following http://www.centrify.com/express

    Jan 20 02:36:32 CBR1BACS01 Bordes [6814]: DEBUGGING cli.adjoin without a permit, you can connect to a domain via Auto Zone by specifying Bordes w Test.Test

    Conditions:

    Move from 5.2 to 5.3. Restart the services thereafter.

    Workaround solution:

    Save the ACS db and recreate the picture on the box to 5.3

    How upgrade to 5.4 ACS

    1.] updated to 5.3 to 5.4 using the upgrade package.

    2.] reianged with ACS 5.4 ISO and restored the database ACS 5.3.

    I suggest you to prosecute on this TAC. [Most likely you must reimage the server and restore the database if you had crossed with option 1.]

  • secondary ACS 5.1 fails to cancel the registration, after IP change on primary

    IP address of primary education had to be modified, in response to a hardware failure of the RADIUS server with the intellectual property in several configs device.

    Now school is unresponsive to repeated requests "Cancel registration of the primary", even after reloading.

    apparently because he can't reach the primary to the old IP address.

    Asking to cancel the registration in the GUI generates pop-up that says: "this operation will remove this Instance ACS of the primary Instance.

    On this instance of the CSA management applications will be restarted and you will need to identify yourself again.  After you perform this operation

    Please wait five minutes for this restart complete.

    Do you want to continue? »      [OK]

    But checking back after 10 minutes - or even the next day - find status of secondary education unchanged.

    Also tried in Local Mode, cancel the registration of the primary;  This operation also fails.

    Does anyone have the URL HOWTO on a total reconstruction of the application of GBA?

    The two ACS are PCA-1121-K9 5.1.0.44.4 running.

    Thanks in advance for any help...

    UPDATE: *.

    Command, has recommended "application reset-config acs", has been _exactly_ what was needed.

    jrabinow - thanks a lot!    :-)

    also, thanks for mentioning that the licence would be required, so that I could locate in advance and have it ready.

    Since there is no local CERT on the server, we should not re - install those.

    Since it is a secondary antibody that it should not have too much in terms of specific configuration

    Therefore, one possibility is to reset the configuration, so once more, it becomes just a stand-alone node and then that to the deployment as it is for any new node and as you saved it until

    Reset configuration can be done using the following command in the CLI:

    rebate to zero-config CSA

    Note that after resetting the configuration you will need to reinstall the license so make sure that you have it handy

    So if you installed a certificate server to the secondary server, you have that too

  • How to stop the Radius/Ganymede ACS 5.2?

    Hi, is it possible to stop the Radius/Ganymede ACS 5.2 from the GUI?

    The command line, you can stop the ACS instance itself - but I don't think you can even components.  It simulate an instance ACS failed.

    I think that his:

    request stop acs

    or

    judgment of the ACS

    To start, it's the same thing with the start of keyword.

    Everything you need is available as because you are restoring on site. That is, rman target / catalog xxx@xxxx

    Follow these steps:

    START a dummy Instance to run restore SPFILE with RMAN. This is necessary because rman are not running restore without instance.

    for example

    cd $ORACLE_HOME/dbs

    Just make a backup of current INIT.

    cp initRAC1.ora initRAC1.ora_curr

    export ORACLE_SID=RAC1

    rman target / catalog xxxx@xxxx/xxxx

    RMAN> set DBID 2329313036; # This identifies in the catalog which database is used.

    # Now startup a dummy instance and perfom you restore.

    RMAN >  run{
     startup nomount;
    # Use one of the three options:
     restore spfile from tag "TAG20110128T161437";
    # or
     restore spfile from autobackup;
    # or
     restore spfile from '+FLASH/rac/autobackup/2011_01_28/s_741629677.282.741629687';
    shutdown immediate;

    startup nomount;

    restore controlfile from autobackup;

    startup mount;

    restore database;

    recover database;

    alter database open resetlogs;

    }

    Your spfile will be restored to $ORACLE_HOME/dbs, you should move it to before ASM.

  • How RAC doesn't lose data after a crash of the Forum?

    I am a student at the exam 1Z0-432 (Oracle RAC 12 c Essentials) and I was wondering how RAC loses no data after a crash?

    I see that the data is updated in the Cache buffers (Global Cache), the redo data is written to log buffer, then the redo log files. If each instance has its own wire recovery and undo tablespace how other instances of know these data so immediately after a commit an instance goes down?

    Suppose we have a hardware failure and the scott user updated a line on my racdb2 of the instance and issues a commit, immediately after that the racdb2 instance crashes. Redo data are already in the newspapers of recovery, but not in data files, how the other racdb1 of the Forum know about this update?

    Is there a Buffer any Global redo?

    Kind regards

    Franky

    The reason for newspapers to restore an instance available to all other nodes in CARS.  When one of the instance crashes, surviving instances can access the content instance redolog crashed and apply the changes to recovery.

  • SMO NetApp ORA-00119 (Local_Listener) ORA-00132: Net syntax error / name

    Hello

    I myself have killed on it for days and have searched the forum after forum without results. Here is the configuration:

    (1) a production of database Oracle running 10.2.0.5 with a listener running on the Port of 1690. Solaris 10 Sparc.
    (2) NetApp Oracle Manager Snap 3.2
    (3) two Snap index Repository Manager on a separate binary install of Oracle 10.2.0.5 listens on ports 1521 and 1522. (Same host)

    Orders and questions.

    I was able to create the repositories very well and was able to take snapshots of databases all three. When it came time to run a preview of a Snap Restore, both instances of repository provided to ports 1521 and 1522 on other respective databases to get a restoration plan. It worked if the bodies were facing upwards or downwards. The listeners were obviously upward. Two repositories share the same TNS_ADMIN and ORACLE_HOME - separate spfiles and data files.

    When the time came to get a glimpse of the restoration of the production database, he showed the right plan, when the database has increased. The listener has increased and it showed JDBC hit once. When the production database is down, the preview has tried to knock three times the production database with JDBC and failed to make a [STARTUP NOMOUNT]. The TNS_ADMIN is not shared with the repository databases. Here is the command and the error.

    SMO backup restore - profile NDDB-FULL-SNAP-label F_A_20121107112828CST-complete - controlfiles - recover - terrababdelhak-overview

    ORA-00132: error syntax or network name not resolved "LISTENER_NDDB."

    The production database is in place for six years and has no problem when connecting as sysdba so I don't think it is quite the problem. There must be something simple. It works * * when the database is running, but not when it is stopped. It should work.

    What are your production server tnsnames.ora entries. I missed those?

    The error means generally you attach to use a friendly name for local_listener in the boot parameters, but to have not configured in the tnsnames file.

    Another option is to not use name friendly and instead the full entry.

    ALTER system set local_listener = '(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp) (HOST = test-NDDB) (PORT = 1690))' scope = spfile;

    Rebound of the instance

  • RMAN - query Imagecopy

    Hi gurus!

    I have a few questions about the functionality of copy of picture of RMAN, I would be really grateful if someone could clarify.

    (1) my understanding of one of the benefits of the Imagecopy backup on a backupset that is in theory, you can restore the files directly from any media (eg. a tape device) and get the operational database without the need to retrieve the RMAN catalog. But when I ran a few backups imagecopy against one of our test, the saved file seems to be renamed - for example. users.dbf becomes o1_mf_users_6wn8fyff_.dbf

    My question is - if I were to restore the instance to start this way - probably the control file goes in search of users.dbf? Maybe it's a way to make a backup imagecopy - preserve original file names?

    (2) for the review if backup using Imagecopy or Backupsets, I'm leaning toward imagecopy as in my mind, it would be simpler to restore databases in a DR scenario. But if I decided to engage in the Backupset way, using a recovery catalog, I guess the first restoration must be recovery catalog - then use it to restore all other databases.

    Where my starts head to melt is when I think of how you restore recovery catalog & the instance it runs first. If the recovery catalog itself is saved as a backupset - how you even restore that? Looks like a chicken or the egg scenario.

    I hope someone shine a light on my cloudy brain!
    BTW - it's on Oracle 10 g

    Thank you

    device type disk 'TAG' % database tag

    This script would create NOT copies of data file.

    unless you have also issued the RMAN command:

    configure device type disk backup type to copy

    The default backup type is BACKUPSET, not COPY.
    A 'SHOW ALL' of the RMAN command line would show how RMAN default settings have been configured.

    Since the 9i, Orace introduced CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON. If you use an MRE, Oracle can automatically identify the BackupPieces containing the backup Controlfile.
    If you do not use this configuration, a "BACKUP LIST OF CONTROLFILE' on the RMAN command line would show BackupPieces containing the backup controlfile.

    I also recommend to keep logs of your RMAN run script exits.

  • Inclusion of an ACS 5.2 to a primary instance

    Hi people,

    Hoping someone can help me with this. When you try to save an instance of the ACS for a primary (via System Administration-> operations-> local operations-> deployed operations), I have the following error as a popup in my browser:

    "This failure: /opt/CSCOacs/db/acs.crt (no such file or directory)." Your changes have not been saved. Click OK to return to the page from the list. »

    I had 2 devices ACS grouped 1120, 1 suffered a hardware failure, a year ago, so I replaced it with a virtual machine. This one is now the principal. I am now wanting to replace the secondary instance (unit 1120 left) with a virtual machine as well. I removed the current device to the network, installed the virtual machine by using the same IP address and tried to register. There no according to the above error. After having tried this several times, I decided to return the device from 1120 to secondary status and then tried to save it with the same results as above.

    Any assistance with this would be much appreciated

    Thank you

    I've seen this before. This can be solved by reloading the backend.

    If you still see this problem

    1. connect to ACS CLI w / CLI name of user/pass

    2 question "acs-config".

    3. connect w / ACS GUI name of user/pass

    4. specify debug log. This will tell you what levels are fixed now

    5 level debugging debugging mgmt of journal

    6 repro

    7 get the support package with files and newspapers two GBA debug.

    8 restore the logging level of mgmt of caveat (mgmt-log debug level warning)

    You can also filter the logs from the management servers and paste the relevant papers of that time.
