I tried to restore factory settings... I have cd... goes to HP recovery through first cd and on the second cd... freezes 12%... I have

HP Pavilion dv8-1200 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC

could be a memory problem

I did the complete check-up free at the disk through Bios... comes back fine

also done memory test in the bios... says ok

the system was constantly freezing... so I decided to do a recovery... now I can't even windows to reload

any help... Please

Hello @magicbeads ,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that Windows has been removed and your second recovery CD does not end. I'll see if I can share some of my magic

My first advice is to get a copy of the operating system; either from Microsoft or an ISO. Once you do, you can install it from its media. Then once Windows is reinstalled, try to use the CD recovery again.

If this does not help, then there is a problem with the second CD. You can order a new set of HP, and that would be the end of the fight.

Let me know your results. Thank you!

I can't download itunes 10.5 - system: "the problem with this Windows Installer Package.  A program run as part of Setup did not finish as expected".  The only thing I can find is maybe I have XP 64-bit edition, which does not support the download.  How will I know if I have 64-bit edition?

Windows XP-64 is quite rare that you almost certainly would know if you had it or not.  But for the record, right click on desktop and select Properties.

To perform a "clean" iTunes installation uses this technique proposed, from Support of Apple HT1926 article.

Warning: uninstall utility for cleaning Windows mentioned in the instructions below has been removed from Microsoft download servers because sometimes it seems more removed he was supposed to (I think that this phenomenon was linked to the bureau uninstalls).  You can still get utility Windows Installer Cleanup--> http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html here is a free alternative Revo Uninstaller. Before using these cleaning products, you must create a restore point from the system first (or back up the registry with C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT).  See http://windowsxp.mvps.org/registry.htm a complete disk image would be safer if you have this ability.

    System Restore will not work

    Hi FriendFriend,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    3. you receive an error message when running the system restore?

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state, and then try to clean boot.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

    (b) click on the category System .

    0rignal title: Vista SP1 didn't update problem

So, recently, I was on my computer of gf and noticed she had some updates, it could use his computer which included the SP1 update.  So I went through the process trying to update his computer and he has been a disaster and have had many problems and seems to have tried everything.  It has a Dell inspiron 1525 and has no CD and no key for its program of Vista.  I burned a Vista recovery disk and tried troubleshooting by using that, but have not had much luck.  When I use the Startup Repair tool there is no nothing.  So I tried to use the restore of the system with the Description of "install: Windows Vista Service Pack 1.  He had a restore point saved just before I tried to update to SP1.  Whenever I chose this method, it's but the whole process then in the end it says:

"System restore was not entirely successful.  File system and the setting of your computer have not changed. "

then he begins to list the details with the error code (0x80071AA7) and then gives me the option to close or 'Run System Restore"once again that is an endless loop, because I just end up with the same error each time.  If anyone has had this problem and bring myself through it.  I don't want to reinstall windows because it seems simply ridiculous and plus that she a lot of pictures on his computer and I want to get rid of those.

    Hello

Follow the steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

I suspect that your security program may be responsible for this. I would suggest you temporarily disable all security software and try the system restore.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note : Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:

As for installing updates is concerned, I you should install them after you put your computer in aclean boot State. There could be a third-party software in conflict with updates. Clean boot helps eliminate these conflicts.

Note: Restart your machine as usual by following step 7.

You can't do a restore point for the last week, today.

You can do a Restore Point for today, so that next week, if necessary, you can restore to today.

Think about it: How can you make a Point of restoration today something happened in the past.

You should have in the past, if space allowed in SR, to come back to today.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  • Windows 8 install not finished

    Hello

Today I received my HP Envy 700 desktop computer. After some problems, installing Windows 8 has not finished.

Now, when I start my computer the screen repeat myself that windows installation has not completed properly and I have to restart the computer. This gives the same result. I'm not a systemrecorvery with F11 or F10.

WndOws 8 is installed on an SSD card.

    Hello

I had the problem of Sys Prep with a set of HP recovery disks created on my HP computer.

I had to order a resumption of the HP factory. Set HP recovery completed successfully.

It seems that the recovery image on the SSD drive is messed up. You disconnect all external devices except the factory condition keyboard and mouse when you are recovering?

Here is the support site for your PC. I don't see a recovery disk value available to the command for any installed operating system listed...

I think you'll have to contact HP Support, explain your problem, and they may have to provide HP recovery disc to restore your PC to factory State. You can also return the PC to get a refund or Exchange the computer following the procedures required by the retailer.

  • How to restore the Notes

I recently started to use my writing notes and jotting down ideas, but last night I was not sure if my notes would be shared with my Mac friends since I have not got one for me and his had used for synchronization and sharing of music. I decided to disable iCloud notes with a warning noting that "all the iCloud notes would be deleted, you'd like ongoing?", I read it with a change of mindset, thought I pressed 'Cancel', but instead he deleted notes. I am very sure that I didn't quite save my iphone. Is it possible to restore the notes at all?

iCloud only synchronizes the data (Notes) using your Apple ID only.

It did not work because the new toshiba set by phone for me when I bought it.
But now I formatted it and its not working yet.

Any help on how to adjust the settings.

    Hello

    It's very easy
First you should check if the system restore is not disabled on your laptop.
This can be checked in the control-> system-> System Restore tab panel.

You have to uncheck the option called turning off the coast of the the system restore on all drives.
Please check if there is enough free space on the two drives for the files in system restore.
In the settings you must set the disk space to use to the maximum!

After restarting again you should start the System Restore tool and should create a system restore point.

    Good luck
