Restore the BIOS

Hello. I have HP Probook G2 G6W28EA #ACB. When I got out of my laptop I had a problem. It is not extinguished until the end (key lights were on). I swap it only by battery out. I resumed OS boot SSD HP (by F11) sector. Once on the client security screen, I found connections of recovery. After the last restoration, I don't see the connections on the screen of the client security? but see in the BIOS (by F10 in BIOS). Can you please give advise how to return to the factory Bios settings and remove all user information from the Bios.

Hello.

    HY

My Qosmio x 500 has worked (from the point of view of cooling), until I made a very big mistake. I did upgrade the BIOS to version 2.9 of the official website of the Toshiba and now my laptop stops in games after 5 min. Before this update, I had no such problem. I'm so very shure it's this BIOS version error.
If someone can tell me how to restore the BIOS on Qosmio X 500, I'd appreciate it.

    Hello

This BIOS downgrade option you want to say is not possible as on Toshiba site only the most recent version can be downloaded. Latest version of BIOS is also the most stable version if BIOS downgrade is not important.
It is possible to the ASP.

I can t imagine this new version of BIOS is causing this problem.
You use the pre-installed Windows version with * original * Toshiba display driver (nVidia no)?

    Hello

I installed the bios updated to 2.20 instead of 2.30 on my Toshiba Z930 10 T. How to revert to the previous version?

    Thank you

    Hello

Using the BIOS based victory you can ONLY update the BIOS to a higher version but not downgrade.
If you want to downgrade, you will get a message that you already have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

Downgrade is possible ONLY by using a traditional version of BIOS, but this can be done by the technician.

  • HP Pavilillion DV6700 is: restoration of the BIOS

I need to restore my laptop bios. How can I get or create a copy of the bios that will boot and load it on my computer? The computer don't would not boot from its system after my restore attempt failed. Now the computer will boot from my external usb 3.5 floopy drive. The 3.5 system provides only a simple back system that seems to only access the a: drive. The computer does not start dvd discs of recovery, I did and I've used successfully before for recovery. I have no day bios in the past. I had kept the computer updated before its failure. Help, please. Thanks, Katrin

Thank you very much. I got the BIOS to Flash this weekend with your help. The link you sent that refers to the file maintenance SP opened the system to accept and execute the flashing Phoenix program. I am able to access and launch the restore disks. I keep all my documents on a separate partition and save it once a week on an external drive. If nothing is lost in the accident.

I kept getting immediately "BIOS don't update not for your laptop" when I want to boot from USB and run the executables from extracted files MS. I tried all the eleven listed HP download extractable files and received the same message. Then I booted from the USB drive and set the maintenance file, which linked you to, on the hard drive. It linked the command prompt (which is what I use,) without any text field or display image for about 5 seconds and then returned to the guest. I then tried the F.33 (last updated) as before running the executable version. But this time, after that I had to run your application of maintenance related, the Phoenix ran with a display of instructions frame. I followed the instructions and the program displays a frame that identified the existing version BIOS, F.25, with date and time and the version I try to Flash. I checked and a new framework said the version was not for my laptop, but I had been not as managers see. I then extracted and ran the F.25 version A, the Phoenix program ran and identified as before, but I got the same pitch for my message of the laptop. So I ran the F.25 executable version B, the Phoenix program ran, and after that I checked, the program flashed the BIOS! It sounded good with the computer coming and all fans.

I hope that HP will publish viable BIOS recovery processes. I had to go through many trial and error, and the problem of BIOS now seems to be common with applications for system restore. In this case, my computer shutdown in the middle of a restore because I forgot to plug and the battery died before the restoration is complete. My brother recently tried a restore after the execution of a Service Pack 2 update on our old computer XP, and who took out the BIOS. But we found an old 3.5 floppy in his drawer, under her Pajamas or something, someone had created years ago. It is bootable and had a BIOS update executable that took place without any problem to restore the BIOS.

Thank you very much for your time and your help. I'll participate in this community to help others. Take care, Katrin

  • Upgrade the BIOS laptop won't stop

    Hello

    I have a HP Pavilion Notebook 17

    Product number: E0J89UA #ABA

    64-bit Windows 8

I got a message to upgrade the BIOS.   I did and now when I click close it acts like it is going and the screen goes black but the power light stays on with the light for the F12 airplane mode.  When I opened the laptop, the light is still on.  I can't click with the mouse or press the windows key to wake him up.    I held down the power button to stop it so I can start it up.  Starts fine with no problems.  Does not even say that windows is not shut down properly.

I also had to do the upgrade several times with the BIOS.  It's the F.21AP1 Version when it's time to upgrade the first that he was supposed to restart and it does not.  When I went back to the HP Wizard, it appeared that I needed to update.  It no longer.

    Thank you!

Because it is not turn it off, you can try to disable all items that load at startup, check if maybe a program running in the background is preventing it from closing properly. Follow the instructions here: prevent opening software programs when Windows starts (Windows 8)

If this fails, you might be able to restore the BIOS using this method: restore the BIOS

Let me know if it helps.

  • Dv7 HP Envy notebook: update the BIOS

I have a laptop HP Envy dv7. When I turned it on this morning, I got a message that he was updating the BIOS.

Then I got a blue screen that says:

    Recovery

Your PC needs to be repaired,

The digital signature for this file could not be verified

    0xc0000428 error code

You will need to use the tools of recovery on your installation media. If you don't have any facility (such as a disc or USB device) support, contact your system administrator or the computer manufacturer.

I tried a system restore, which did not work. I ran diagnostics and everything seemed OK.

I can't find my recovery disk. Anyone know what I can do?

I hit escape to enter diagnosis, and if this can help, information on the system gave me-

    F.22 said BIOS version

    The said Insyde BIOS Editor

Fixed. I was able to restore the BIOS of the F22 F13. I also used a restore point from a week ago.  One of those who seems to work.  For some strange reason, the changes don't take effect until I hit escape to reach diagnoses once again, how my computer restarted.

I have a laptop HP dating a week 15-ay011nr that does not allow me to access the BIOS. I do not see the message "press ESC for Boot Menu", but it starts directly on the hp logo.

With reference to this previous post:

I wanted to make sure if this solution applies to 15 laptops and if I do this or else, given the warranty has not expired

Only other thing I can think of who isn't in this post is to restore the bios, you can now win + keys B and turning on the holding of these keys, you can release it when the update/recovery of the bios screen

After that try with Esc or f10 key immediately after the power

If this does not work then I would recommend to contact your warranty computer HP

  • Satellite P200-1 has 2 dead after trying to update the Bios

    Hello

I downloaded the latest version of the BIOS firmware of Toshibas site (European site). I checked it clearly with the model nr and serial nr. I went on the northern site to update bios and downloaded the latest drivers and BIOS.

My laptop Satellite P200-1 has 2 and the nr series is PSPB6E-02J023N5. Toshibas site, I downloaded all the drivers needed and bios. I started with the installation of the BIOS, when I tried to install it, then my pc froze.

    My food was on.
The fan went beserk everything and the screen froze.
I tried to let it run for 30 minutes, because I was afraid to interrupt the installation. I couldn't wait anymore, so I turned off the pc by removing the battery and power.

When I then tried to turn on the laptop, nothing happens. All black screen.

Can anyone help? I used the correct BIOS driver of Toshiba's own home page, but apparently it didn't work. How do I restore the BIOS? I don't know what BIOS I use.

What I've done so far is:

    1. use HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool with MiniDOS files to make your Flash Bootable drive: USB
2 copy all the files from backup for your: USB key
3 rename your BIOS to bios.wph file and copy it in your: USB stick. I downloaded the same BIOS firmware and downloaded as EXE file, I extracted the exe file and found a file called. ROM and I renamed the entire file in bios.wph
    4. remove the battery, unplug the computer from power.
    5. hold: Fn + B, then all in now the computer in power (do not connect the battery) and close the power button.

    But after that, nothing happens.

I'm afraid that something was wrong during the update of the BIOS of m.
It seems that your ROM module, where are stored the BIOS was not flashed properly.

I guess you checked this thread because the procedure described is her even that you posted your message.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=54395

However, maybe you should try the procedure using the floppy and disk crisis described in the other thread.

If this is not enough, your final option is the Toshiba service partner.

  • Evo 500: how easily Flash of the bios on the computer

I have trouble understanding how to Flash the bios of the computer, I put up.  Can someone give me a step by step method how?

Let me offer you some general tips to make the updates to the BIOS...

Caution: an upgrade of BIOS defective or broken, unlike an upgrade of the driver, can leave your PC in an unusable state - essentially, turning it into a "brick" electrick

Thus, before any update of the BIOS, ensure that the following TWO are met:
    (1) you have a way to save on the current BIOS of some media that allows you then to restore it, if necessary
    (2) you have a way to boot the PC so that you can restore the BIOS since the recorded media, in which case the BIOS update fails or trashes otherwise your PC

So, as long as the application of updated BIOS provides you with a way to do both 1 and 2), then flashing the BIOS is safe, because if the PC are lost, you will be able to rely on 2) to restore the original, working, BIOS.

In addition, if you do this on a laptop, at least have the power adapter is plugged when you do that.  Not sure how many people try this on battery power that have the battery before the upgrade flash is done!

    Good luck

It is the opinion of the Expert that you shouldn't depend on HP Support AWizard when it comes to BIOS updates.

According to other factors in the system at the time when the HPSA trying to hit your system with an update of this type; the results could be... other than expected.

You can set 'Notification' HPSA to prevent it from trying to update your BIOS.

DON'T update the BIOS when you see an update in your Web page of the computer AND that this update can be used to provide a fix for a problem that you have discovered in your system.  In other words: If your computer is happy, do not update the BIOS just because you think it would be a good thing to do.

If you decide to update your BIOS

    • Make sure that ALL backups are up-to-date and complete - this means that everything you need to restore the system in case something goes wrong.
    • Understand that even when you do everything exactly right, you can end up with a bricked computer, that is an expensive paper weight.
    • Make sure you have at least your critical data on some form of external backup.
    • Unplug the USB drives and other useless material.  Desktop keyboard and mouse can stay connected.
    • Always run power cable to update the BIOS, never on the laptop battery
    • Touch the system during the update is underway
    • Optional: Leave wireless ONbutton. You could turn off the router to ensure that there is no interruption.
