SA520 and Question IPSec VPN RVS4000

Hello

I installed an IPSec VPN for one of my friends for his company. At its principal office, I installed a Cisco SA520 and he uses to connect devices such as the iPhone and iPad via the IPSec VPN. He uses this fact because he travels abroad a lot and he has problems with services such as Skype is blocked in some countries. This configuration works very well.

It also has a Cisco RVS4000, which he would like to install at his place of business to the Mexico. He would like the RVS4000 VPN configuration to the SA520 in his office. The SA520 in his office has a static IP address. The RVS4000 to the Mexico does not work.

Is it possible to Setup IPSec VPN between a SA520 with a static IP and RVS4000 address that does not have a static IP address? If so, examples of configuration would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi William, simply sign up for a dyndns account or similar service, the RVS4000 configuration will be the same, instead of the IP, you'd be using the dyndns name.

  • RV180 and Cisco IPSec VPN client

    Hi NetPro,

RV180 router supports VPN client using the regular Cisco VPN client connections?

Data sheet says it works with client QuickVPN. If the regular non-Quick client is not supported, both clients can coexist (= be installed simultaneously) on the same PC?

Is supported customer QuickVPN split tunneling?

    Thank you!

    Lubomir

    Lubomir Hello,

The RV180 currently supports QuickVPN and PPTP VPN connections. It also has the IPSec tunnel as well, but it does not support the Cisco VPN client.

I saw a question have Cisco VPN and the QuickVPN installed on the same computer.

The QuickVPN client supports only split tunneling.

I hope that answers your questions.

  • In Forefront TMG IPSec VPN RVS4000

    Hello

We set up a site to site VPN using a Cisco RVS4000 at one end and TMG to another.  When initiate us communication (PING) from a client on the local network of TMG, the binding is ESTABLISHED and both directions of traffic flow.  However, if we start the communication between the local network of Cisco, the time-out of PINGs and link remains DOWN.  For the Cisco VPN log file is locked.

We verified that the IPSec settings at each corresponding end and also tried to update the firmware of 2.0.2.7.  Each side of the tunnel of thje uses a public IP with any NAT device between the two.

    Ideas or suggestions appreciated.

  • Question of WRV210 VPN RVS4000

    Hello all,.

I have a client configuration with a WRV210 VPN router wireless home internet (cox cable) and a VPN RVS4000 router at his office (comcast cable internet).

VPN has been in service for about 6 months, with the occasional drop-outs requiring a reboot of the two endpoints to re-establish the VPN.

The WRV210 home recently 'died', requiring a replacement. The client is the swap itself and called for assistance to small businesses (?) where they walked him through the router configuration.  Since this morning when I checked, the VPN is connected, but I can't ping between the internal interface on the DESKTOP to the internal interface on the HOUSE.

I'm deleting the entry IPSEC on the RVS4000 (apparently no option to remove an entry on the WRV210!) and the deactivation/creation of new entry on the WRV210.

Any thoughts out there on how to make this diagnosis?

    Kind regards

  • UC500 and IPsec VPN client - disconnects

Just throw a question out there.
I have a UC560 running uc500-advipservicesk9 - mz.151 - 2.T2 site HQ.  Remote users, about 8 of them, attempt to connect via IPsec VPN (v5.0.07.0440) HQ clients to access files, etc..  The behavior I see is 5 users to connect successfully, but only 5.  As soon as more users trying to connect, they have either:

    1. connect with success for a minutes, then unmold
    2. get a 412, remote peer is not responding
    3. connect, but someone of another session kickoff.

Users use the same VPN profile, but with names of single user and passwords.

    JP

    JP,

An update of IOS is worth it, even if him debugs seems to indicate that there is a problem with the client. If possible, I always suggest test with another client to see if it is unique to the Cisco VPN Client on Win7. Regarding the limit of 20 tunnel, it is very probably the number of IPsec security associations. If you issue a 'show crypto eli', this example displays the number of Sessions that are currently active IPSec.

  • GRE and IPSEC VPN tunnel over the same interface

My client is currently connected to a service provider of call through a GRE Tunnel over IPSEC. They chose to move all connections to a VPN site-to-site traditional behind a firewall, here, to your corp office.  As the questions says, is possible for me to put in place the VPN site to site on the same router? Interface Tunnelx both ethernet have the same encryption card assigned to the destination router.  I thought that traffic could divide by identification of traffic 'interesting '.  Thanks for all the ideas, suggestions

    Ray

    Ray

Thanks for the additional information. It takes so that the existing entries in ACL 101 remain so the existing tunnel will still work. And you have to add entries that will allow the new tunnel. Editing an ACL that is actively filtering traffic can get complicated. Here is a technique that I use sometimes.

-create a new access list (perhaps ACL 102 assuming that 102 is not already in use).

-Copy the entries of ACL 101 to 102 and add additional entries you need in places appropriate in the ACL.

-Once the new version of the ACL is complete in the config, then go tho the interface and change the ip access-group to point to the new ACL.

This provides a transition that does not affect traffic. And he made it back to the original easy - especially if something does not work as expected in the new ACL.

If the encryption of the remote card has an entry for GRE and a separate entrance for the IPSec which is a good thing and should work. I guess card crypto for GRE entry specifies an access list that allows the GRE traffic and for IPSec crypto map entry points to a different access list that identifies the IP traffic is encrypted through the IPSec tunnel.

  • The IPSec VPN and routing

    Hello

I was polishing my PSAB on since I am currently in a job where I can't touch a lot of this stuff.  By a laboratory set up a site to IPSec VPN between two routers IOS.

    For example:

    https://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps9422/products_configuration_example09186a0080ba1d0a.shtml

The routers must specify how to route to the protected network.  Although I guess they could just use a default route to 172.17.1.2 as well.

    for example IP road 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0 172.17.1.2

172.17.1.2 won't have the slightest clue as to how to route for 10.10.10.0

Even in an example with a tunnel between the ASA and the router IOS ASA failed to indicate a direct route to the subnet protected from 10.20.10.0, but it must still have a default route configuration. So it is basically saying, to reach the protected subnet to resolve the next hop on a device that has no idea where this subnet is anyway.  Shouldn't all the peer IP-based routing, and not on a subnet that routers between the two should have no idea they exist?

The main hypothesis that I have here is that the protected subnets are not accessible unless the VPN tunnel is up.  Most of my experience of the VPN site-to-site is with PIX / ASA, and I've never had to specify a route towards the protected subnet (for example 172.16.228.0).  I guess he just used his default gateway that has an Internet IP belonging to the ISP.  However the ISP has no idea where is 172.16.228.0.

Edit: I found a thread, do not report with Cisco but IPSec in general, this seems to be the question in case I don't have a lot of sense:

    http://comments.Gmane.org/Gmane.OS.OpenBSD.misc/192986

He still does not seem logical to me.  If I have a tunnel linking the two class C networks by internet, the only routers having knowledge of these networks are the two counterparts.  Why a course should be (static, dynamic, default etc,) which seems to send traffic to a device that do not know where is the class C networks?  Although I have to take in my example with the 172.17.228.0 my ASA was not actually sends out packets to my ISP gateway with 172.17.228.0 in them.

The purpose of the trail is * not * to send traffic to your next jump. You are right that the next hop router has no idea what to do with this package. This way is important for the local operation. The router must find the interface of output for the package. 'S done it with the road to the next-hop-router. If you remember that the road to your peer IPSec, your router must do a recursive search routing. After the outging interface is found, traffic is sent to this interface, the card encryption on this interface jumps and protects your traffic that is routed to your IPSec peer.

  • Problem with IPSec VPN ISA500 & login questions (multiple devices)

I have a Cisco ISA500, we use for connection with IPSEC VPN of some products apple (MacBook Pro and iPad). We can operate randomly once in a while, but it fails most of the time of negotiation. Someone at - it suggestions on what I can do to make this work?

I did test it on my Linux machine and it does not when I had configured default settings. I had to change the NAT Traversal for UDP CISCO on the Linux machine for the connection to work.

  • Cisco VPN Client and Windows XP VPN Client IPSec to ASA

I configured ASA for IPSec VPN via Cisco VPN Client and XP VPN client communications. I can connect successfully with Cisco VPN Client, but I get an error when connecting with the XP client. Debugging said "misconfigured groups and transport/tunneling mode" I know, they use different methods of transport and tunneling, and I think that I have configured both. Take a look at the config.

PS a funny thing - when I connect with client VPN in Windows Server 2003, I have no error. The only difference is that client XP is behind an ADSL router and client server is directly connected to the Internet on one of its public IP of interfaces. NAT in the case of XP can cause problems?

    Hello

For the Cisco VPN client, you would need a tunnel-group name configured on the ASA with a pre-shared key.

    Please see configuration below:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00805734ae.shtml

    or

    http://tinyurl.com/5t67hd

Please see the section of tunnel-group config of the SAA.

There is a tunnel-group called "rtptacvpn" and a pre-shared key associated with it. This group name is used by the VPN Client Group name.

So, you would need a specific tunnel-group name configured with a pre-shared key and use it on the Cisco VPN Client.

Secondly, because you are behind a router ADSL, I'm sure that's configured for NAT. can you please activate NAT - T on your ASA.

    "crypto isakmp nat-traversal.

Thirdly, change the transformation of the value

    raccess 1 set transform-set vpnclienttrans crypto dyn1 dynamic-map

    Let me know the result.

    Thank you

  • WILL IPSec VPN with mapped IP question

    Hello

I am trying to configure two Cisco routers (1801 & 837) for VPN IPSec de ERG. One of them has a static IP and the other is a DSL connection; so a dynamic IP address. We have a few additional static IP assigned to us through DSL connection. So I try to use a static NAT to get the VPN connection. Unfortuantely, the VPN connection does not come to the top. Can anyone help... ? The configuration of the two routers is attached here.

FYI:-J' I try the same config with a loop back, also without success. But if I just change the IP address of the source R1 to be the dynamic IP address, it works fine. But, since it is a dynamic IP, I can't implement this.

Thank you in advance to you all...

    Nimal

    Hi Chris,

If public IP address 22,33,44,55 is routable R2, you can use the p2p gre + ipsec vpn. You can test it by creating an address of loopback on R1

    lo10 int

    22.33.44.55 Add IP 255.255.255.255

    and ping 22.33.44.55 source R2 11.22.33.44.

If this public IP address is routable, you can use your configuration.

GBA, we config user group: VPN users. all VPN users in this group. ACS can visit his political profile: If the user in the 'VPN users' group, access ACS.

When we connect from a VPN Client to the server, all users connect to success. When you see the parser in ACS journal, each user success connect also get

    error:

22040 wrong password or invalid shared secret

(pls see picture to attach it)

the system still works, but I don't know why, we get the error log.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

    Duyen

    Hello Duyen,

I think I've narrowed the issue. When remote access VPN using RADIUS authentication we must keep in mind that authentication and authorization are included on the same package.

Depending on your configuration, the ACS is defined as a server RADIUS (Gserver Protocol radius aaa server) and becomes the VPN Tunnel authenticated and 'authorized' on this server group:

    authentication-server-group LOCAL Gserver

    authorization-server-group Gserver

As noted above, the RADIUS of request/response includes authentication and authorization on the same package. This seems to be a problem of incorrect configuration that we should not set up the 'permission' in the Tunnel of the group.

Please remove the authorization under the Tunnel of Group:

    No authorization-server-group Gserver

Please test the connection again and check the logs of the ACS. At this point there are only sucessful newspaper reported on the side of the ACS.

Is 'Permission-server-group' LDAP permission when authenticating to a LDAP server so to retrieve the attributes of permission on the server. RAY doesn't have the command as explained above.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards.

  • communications between IPSec VPN and AnyConnect SSLVPN

    Hi all

I have 2 ASAs and interconnected with ipsec VPN.

one of the ASA has SSLVPN users to access intranet resources.

but do not know how to get inside the network on an another ASA

my network architecture is less to:

    192.168.1.0/24---ASA1---Internet---ASA2---172.24.0.0/16

SSLVPN use 192.168.55.0/24 ip on the external interface

L2L IPSec VPN is established between ASA1 and ASA2

192.168.1.x could access 172.24.0.0/16 via NATing to of ASA2 inside the ip interface

But now I want 192.168.55.0/24 access 172.24.0.0/16, some set up but does not work...

    Are there any suggestions?

    Thank you very much

Hi the split tunnel, you add with the ASA2 network should allow vpn clients send the traffic through the tunnel when they want to reach the remote subnet.

    Can add you this too

    nonat_outside ip access list allow

NAT (outside) 0-list of access nonat_outside

Also in the config you have not added the crypto to ASA1 acl entry. who is 192.168.55.0 to 172.24.0.0

    See if that helps

  • Suggestion for separate management and VPN appliances roads IPSEC VPN

I am trying to install two firewalls Cisco ASA 5585 X in active / standby and hit an obstacle.

At the moment we terminate all our tunnels IPSEC VPN on a pair of 5585 x, but with the size of these tunnels of growth and our acquisition of organization other organizations at a rapid pace, we have designed to move their own VPN appliances for VPN tunnels.

VPN tunnels at the moment are very simple because our itinerary by default, which is announced by EIGRP, is inside our firewall interface. Once the new firewalls are installed it won't work for networks VPN host.

Is it possible to run EIGRP on the new VPN devices and announce these remote VPN host networks in our instance EIGRP. I really want to create hundreds of roads static/ACL to redirect the VPN network/host at the new VPN appliances.

    Thank you in advance!

Don't forget to enable the IPP on the VPN box and publish a summary of the IP pools to your "basic" infrastructure, for example:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa82/configuration/guide/route_eigrp.html#wp1104925

    M.

Edit: Oh, one more thing, since summaries can lead to loops of routing in some cases, allow strict Unicast RPF on the interfaces of L3 of the ASA and hope next to your L3. Just a measure of protection. In any case unicast RPF is recommended in most configurations.
