Satellite A-C50-1JU - manually updated BIOS

Hi Forum,

is their any chance of updating the bios manually? The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C50-A-1JU with part number: PSCJEE. The Toshiba Service Station brings to each time a service error. Another update from the site Web DM10S140.exe crashes every time. I tried the compatibility mode, startet it as administrator, but never the actual accident itself. Operating system windows 8.1 and anti-virus is disabled. What I have now? Thanks for any help.

Edit, sorry postet in the wrong section please move: (.)

I think Toshiba Service Station is a tool not so important but interesting. If your laptop works well and stabile you don't need updates. Maybe it sounds silly now, but I use two laptops from Toshiba with the factory settings and without updates. The first is 5 years old and it is running Win7. The other is model Tecra, 3 years and also preloaded with Win7.

All I have install Windows are updated. The first thing I did after installing recovery image is the deactivation of these tools like Toshiba Service Station.
Believe me, you can live without it.

In the end I have to say that I'm also sure that updating the BIOS won't help you any. The BIOS update has nothing to do with the Toshiba Service Station feature.

Restart went well after update BIOS and Windows XP logo appears loads for a few seconds then a beep and restart - last good known or start Windows normally same effect.
Reboot back to start - this is a new laptop - using the BIOS of Toshiba s official download site.

Quite annoyed to try to find a way to upgrade or downgrade the BIOS.
Took battery and RAM to see if I can delete it?

    Any ideas anyone?

I think you mean BIOS * update * and do not upgrade ;)
    An upgrade is not possible

However, you can try to remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour. After that, reconnect the battery and the AC adapter and try to start Windows.
Moreover I would load the default settings in the BIOS before starting Windows.

If it doesn't work, it seems that your ROM module needs to be reflashed. In this case an ASP can help you.

  • Satellite A-C50-K9K - after updating the BIOS, cooling fan is very loud

Gas station proposed to update the BIOS. 1.00 to 1.30. After updating the cooling system is 90% of the time. Load the default settings BIOS do not change.

No backup of the BIOS. Is it possible to download BIOS 1.00 or solve this problem?

The downgrade of the BIOS is not possible because you n t have the first version of BIOS and even if you get the 1.0 version of BIOS, the BIOS update procedure is not possible because the newer version is already flashed.

But I recommend you set the method in Windows to optimize power or better management the cooling battery life

+ Control Panel--> Power Options--> change the parameters of plan--> change power avancΘs--> TOSHIBA Power Saver Settings--> cooling method.

  • Satellite L500 (PSLS9A-01U012) - better update BIOS 1.6?

It's just a small thing, but my last PC Toshiba laptop has the option to boot from USB. I could boot a Linux and Windows from a USB key, and it was great. So here's my question. Is it possible to boot from USB without a BIOS update?

Well, I know that the answer is probably no, so I'll ask the question. Thinking that there is an update for my BIOS, I visited the mytoshiba.com.au website and discovered that the only available update is that I currently have. Then I went on the site of decision-makers (Pheonix) BIOS, who headed biosagentplus.com, which scanned my computer to check updates. He claims that it is a new BIOS update available, but I must register and PAY for an annual subscription to just the chance to see what is the version number of this release. So my question is, where is this "update" and it supports boot from USB?

    Thank you.

    Hi Hambo,

The fact is that not all laptop computers support booting from the USB device and if it s possible is described in your user manual.
As far as I know it is only possible to boot from the USB on Satellite L500 floppy drive, but not USB key

Also the BIOS update does that fix bugs and add new features for I n t see a reason to make the point.
But if you make an update of the BIOS at any time, you must download site Web from Toshiba to form. This is the only site where you can get a compatible BIOS.

When I run P0044v370, I get a Windows Script Host message:

I want to update the BIOS before the upgrade from 1 GB to 4 GB of memory. Also my U200 Pro keeps crashing and whenever before it restarts, I get a message saying something like "try to install the latest version of the BIOS" (it is not on the screen very long sorry can't be more accurate).

I don't have have the recovery CD, I'm trying to boost performance because it runs very slowly.

Everything is - I am in your forum people good hands! Thanks in advance.

You have what Windows OS installed.
    It is Win XP?

Update the BIOS needs an installation of the common Modules, so don't forget not that the common Modules are installed or this software update.
The CM is on the page of the European driver Toshiba

In addition, the P0044v370.exe unpacks the package I recommend creating a folder on the desktop and to decompress the files in P0044v370.exe first. Then move to this new folder and run the exe file in the folder.

  • Re: Satellite L500-1WH stuck when updating BIOS

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500-1HW, and today TEMPRO shown to me three alerts, one of them on a BIOS update. When I tried to run the application to update the BIOS (Phoenix UEFI WinFlash) he completed the first four steps, "Load the new BIOS", "Analyze old and new BIOS compatibility ', 'Reading old BIOS' and 'Save old BIOS to the backup file', but when he reached the stage of the las,"New Flash BIOS", he got stuck displaying the message 'Region of programming Bios... '. ». Now the laptop is turned on and in fact I can use it as the application of the BIOS update does not block the system, but I don't know what to do, I dare not just to finalize the program because I don't know if the BIOS is right.

Please help me with this problem.

    Thank you.

    Hey,.

Do you have any other programs like Internet browser, Skype or something else? All programs must be closed before you start the update of the BIOS, even AntiVirus, firewall, etc. In addition, the update should be done as an administrator

In General, the BIOS update is not necessary. If only TEMPRO presents a new version, there is no reason to update. Never touch a running system ;)

  • Satellite Pro L300: BSOD after updating BIOS

    Hello

After updating the Bios of the Satellite Pro L300, windows will not start!
His show the blue screen of death!

    What can I do?

    Hello

You are able to access the BIOS settings?
I m not very well why this BSOD appears, but eventually the SATA mode settings have been changed after the BIOS update

Usually the SATA mode must be on AHCI if the SATA drivers are installed.
But if the SATA drivers are not included the SATA mode must be set to compatible.

    Please check this!

In addition, you could set the BIOS default settings and may try to start the computer again.

Hello, I tried (three times) to update my BIOS using the Windows version, but everytime I try, it fails and sends a report to Microsoft - anyone know what is the problem and how to fix it?

    Hello

First of all he must know that if you use the bad BIOS or bad BIOS update procedure, can damage the laptop (motherboard)
I checked the Toshiba page and it seems that, currently, the BIOS release is 25/04/06 - version 2.6

Please check this BIOS FAQ document:
    IOS http://eu.Computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/FAQ.jsp?z=234&service=eu&from=faq_selection&CFID=B & FID = TRO0000000b07

You can find the BIOS update.
According to this document, you must use the traditional update of the BIOS (BIOS upgrade procedure 2).

  • Satellite L655 (PSK1JE) - 100% after update BIOS fan speed

    Hello

Yesterday, I do BIOS update since version 2.10 to 2.20. The update of configuration correctly but the problem is the fan, the speed is 100% all the time.

others have this problem with this version of bios?

Can I downgrade to the version of the bios?

Thank you and waiting for your answers

    Hi kingofcopy,

Load default settings after updating the BIOS? Go into the BIOS, press the F9 key to load the default values.

Have you tested the behavior of fan with cooling optimized battery option? In Windows power management, you can define more low fan speed in power management to reduce the activity of the fan.

    Check this box!

Where can I get a BIOS adequate up-to-date?

    Hello!

I think you should try it using an external floppy drive.

On the Toshiba site, I can find the following information:
1 extract the zip file containing the BIOS upgrade to a temporary folder.
    2. Insert a 1.44 MB diskette formatted in the floppy drive.
3 run the *.exe extracted to the temporary folder. Follow the instructions on the screen. A BIOS update diskette will be generated
    4. make sure that the laptop is plugged into the sector.
    5. turn off the laptop.
    6. Insert the diskette containing the BIOS upgrade in drive A: and turn on the laptop.
    7. follow the on-screen instructions.
    8. when the procedure is finished, remove the disk and reboot the laptop.

I see only 2; that which is a small file winflash.exe.manifest and the winflash (and has an icon of chip next to him) to research in the properties of this file, it says it's an .exe file so I tried to run it.

File pos up to with the "is it the right of a warning" I click ok and about 15 seconds later, a box appears looking for a file name and in the name of box says "here for the Fill bios image file.

I'm at a loss what to do next because I can't get the update of the BIOS works properly.

The laptop opens in safe mode on a user account inactive that I've never used (it does not open in safe mode in my own user account and enter the BSOD loop).
