Satellite A10-S169 turns on but no display at all

A friend gave me this laptop to see if I could do something with it. I can put on, to hear the fan (s) start and run and is the led light up at the front. Left to right, two green and an orange, the first is alternating current, the second Green seems to be that the laptop is on, amber is the State of the battery. I'm about to try to remove panels from the bottom, I just want to see if there is a cable that has lost connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. - Just learned this laptop worked fine a few days ago, display stop working and the battery status led remains lit amber, no matter how long current alternative is plugged.

If the battery becomes ever Green, it can be worn and must be replaced.

Try reinstalling the RAM, or a Module of RAM at a time and in different locations.

Otherwise the motherboard should replace.

  • Satellite A100 screen backlight works, but no display

Just in the process of establishing a Satellite A100 that works very well through the connection of the external monitor but when switched over to using Fn + F5 LCD screen, the backlight turns on but there is no display at all, just a black screen lit.

I suspect it is the screen that is past and not on the cord (have a screen on order) so will update here but I just thought that I would keep you updated on the progress.

Has anyone else had this error?

    Hello Steve

The fact is that your laptop is a malfunction of the equipment, and it must be fixed by replacement. To ask if anyone has had this fault won't help you a lot. You need to fix it anyway.

My question is: might want to fix you alone?

  • Satellite A500-148 turns on but does not start

Hi all, I have a Satellite A500-148 from a friend who asked me to take a peek, it turns on, but does boot when I press the following power button occurs:
-The power button and the charger are on and the hdd led only flashes once
-The fan comes on for about 3 seconds
-No image on the screen, I indicated a light against it, but there is really no image

Tried to reset by pressing the button for 30 seconds without the changer is plugged.

I disassembled it and noticed that this laptop has an external video card, so my question is, who's broken the video card or the motherboard.

    Thank you

To be honest I don't understand this with an external video card. Can you describe how you mean exactly?
In any case, on this virtual path, it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis. You can try the little test and remove this external adapter, RAM and HARD disk, and try to start again.

Ask your friend if he had something that may be responsible for this.

One last thing: laptop stays in r might have turned off after a certain time?

  • E250R dead? Encoder turns on but no display

The wheel turns on when I plug in the USB cable, but not display (black).

My XP PC recognizes it as a USB device only, not as a Sansa player. Requests to install software via the new hardware wizard. Still no display. Windows Explorer does not list an icon in the list of drives.

Pressing menu seems it turns off after 15 seconds, but the same thing happens when turn on - no display.

This player sat unused for a few months, now this problem...

Any suggestions? Loved this little player!

You can try removing the battery for a few minutes and re-install. Sometimes this 'hard' reset will work when the 'soft' press the power button & hold does not work.

You should try the suggestions in this post following. If you still have the blue ring of death, there is a complicated procedure of Linux that you can use as a last resort. Details can be found here.

  • Satellite P10-304 turns on but the screen is off.

Hi there... Please someone help me. I m having this problem since last week with my P10-304... it was working fine... but now last week I turned it off and turned the morning we return on the use of battery that he kept on going stand-by mode... and when I turned it off again and plugged the AC adapter is on, but screen didn't seem to turn on...

I thought that the screen has gone... but last night I turned it on. He walks and went to hibernation! Don t know why. And now the same problem again... I turn power turned blue and the screen is blank (as it s off) I put t know what to do. I tried using the recovery disk. But nothing comes on the screen, as I said, the screen is blank as is it turned off s.

    Please help me... !!!

    Hello

Well, this is a strange question. It's not easy to say what can be the problem.
But first you must remove the battery and the AC adapter for 1, 2 hours.
After this procedure, use the power supply for the test to work.
If the problem is still topical, I guess that it s a hardware malfunction.
In this case, the best way is to contact the service partner.

  • Windows 7 Upgrade but the display is all wrong

I have a Dell PC with an Intel Pentium 4 processor 2.20 GHz, 2 GB of DDR SDRAM 333 MHz and an integrated Intel 3D AGP graphics card.  After upgrading Windows XP to Windows 7, the view is terrible.  Background is blurry, icons are huge, and pop-up windows extend beyond the screen.  In Control Panel, appearance and personalization, the screen resolution set, the only option of 'Display' is "E1909W (Analog) from Dell on the Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and "Resolution" drop-down list is locked at 640 x 480 (i.e., no other resolution options are able to be selected).  I'm afraid that my system is not capable of supporting Windows 7 but am not sure if any help or advice is appreciated.

    Hello

You must visit the Dell Support Web site.

Husband has exactly the same model, so we tried switching battery - its has been completely loaded, my laptop turns on not with its battery
Also I tried using its power cable - nothing happened.

  • Satellite C660 - green light comes on but no display

    Hello

I have 3 laptops Satellite C660 all do the same things.
The power is turn on and get the green lights but no display on the screen. It happens from time to time.

Anyone know what I could be the motherboard is going or is it over heating?

    Thank you

I can't say with certainty what part could be affected, but fact is that if the Toshiba start screen does not appear at the beginning of the startup procedure. This means that the self-test isn t power began and could not be passed correctly. This could be linked to the problem of the motherboard or part connected to the motherboard. That is to say. RAM modules.

I recommend if possible, check the modules single RAM.

High internal temperature may affect the functionality of the laptop too. But you can avoid these problems, clean the cooling and cooling grids fans from time to time.

  • Broken screen, external display mode standby with Satellite A10 S203

Of my Toshiba Satellite A10 S203 screem is broken, it's all guts, the colors and the black spaces. I plugged the laptop with an external display, but as soon as Windows starts the external display is in stand by. How can I change this?

    Hello

I had this problem as well before. After Windows starts the video reset Resets the video output to LCD screen instead of external monitor. Once this is the case try to use the Fn + F5. If this does not work, you might be able to start and press F8, once it gives you the windows selection menu go to safe mode. Once there go to video properties and change the default settings for the external monitor and try to restart normally. Should do wonders. Hope this helps, if not let me know.

  • Satellite A10: RGB Port is not installed - can not use external display

Satellite A10 the RGB PORT is not installed & cannot be used as external display. I tried to install the communication or COM 1. interrupt code. What are the possible solutions?

    Hello

What did you mean by "not installed"?
Generally, you don't need to install anything. You don't need any drivers for this port 3.
Windows XP drivers should work properly.

Please check device manager if there are errors or yellow exclamation points.
If the problem occurs for a short time, you can try to use the WinXP restore tool.
This tool will reduce the BONE until the start.

    Short-Long, short-short-Long, short, Long, Long

How can I understand the meaning of the code please? :-(

Thank you very much for your help!
    Bye bye!

    Hello

It is a firmware simply displayed if no hardware problem have been located on the motherboard.
The LED provides this firmware and only the technician can read this code.
OK, you will probably be able to read this code, but you will find all the details on the meaning of the code.

I found a useful description how to read such a code.
