Satellite A30: Cannot detect internal modem

I have a Toshiba Satellite A30. The internal modem was working fine until a few months ago, when I moved to town. Now my computer can not detect the modem at all. Please help me!

Hello

What you can see in the Device Manager? Is there a yellow exclamation?

Alternatively, you can try to install the modem on this path:
Control Panel > modems Options and > Modems. If there is no Modem didn't try to install by clicking on the Add button. Follow the instructions in the Add Hardware Wizard.

If you can again see Modem, check all the settings in the properties of the modem (for example the adjustment wheel) and dialing rules. Is your well configured Dial-up connection (country, area code)?

Remove the Internet connection and make it again with the Network Setup Wizard. It is very important.

Good bye

    Claire

    Hello

    What's the problem?
You are not able to see the thread or what?

Are you sure of the laptop and built-in wireless network card?

Remember that the WiFi card is optional on the Satellite A30 and not all models includes the Wlan miniPCI card
    Thanks for posting more details!

    PS; If the laptop supports a WLan card internal, you should check only that steps;

-Check if the WLan adapter is enabled on the laptop. Activate the switch on the side of the laptop and the FN + F8 key combination!
-Check if the windows own WLan configuration is marked
-Be sure that you use the right WLan encryption and whether encryption is supported by WLan modem (router) and wireless network card
-Check if the standard 802.11 WiFi, B or G is accompanied by WLan modem (router) and wireless network card
-Make sure that the router MAC filtering option has been disabled!

As you can see all of these options are important to connect to the wireless LAN.

  • Satellite Pro A10 undetected internal modem

I have a problem with my internal modem. I reinstalled the drivers, but it is still not listed in the modems. Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Hello

Did you get the yellow exclamations points in Device Manager?

  • Satellite A30: Cannot activate WLan miniPCI card

Have installed Intel Pro 220bg in my Satellite A30. I can't do the wireless to turn on. The switch on the side of the computer does nothing also tried fn + F8. Still nothing happens.

    Hello

First of all it is very important to know how you installed the WLan card and if it has been installed correctly.
I remember to connect two cables; white cable by hand and Brown to the auxiliary voltage check then Device Manager if the card has been correctly recognized. You can use the driver from the Intel Web site.

    Then everything should work properly.

  • Satellite T135D - cannot detect wireless networks

    I bought a T135D early January.
Everything was happy until one day my laptop decides it cannot detect wireless networks, and even less to connect to one.
I don't think the T135 came with a manual switch, while in the BIOS it says it's on.

The graph with the antenna and 4 bars charge is no longer at startup, or the light that lights up on the front of my laptop. It's frustrating to have this kind of problem so early in the game with the T135D.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The wireless network must be activated by pressing the FN + F8 key combination.
    Have you tried that?

    If not, please check it

Of course, you must make sure that the WLan card driver is always up to date.

    Hello

Have you turned on the WiFi on the laptop Toshiba successfully?
You must move the switch wireless POSITION until led WLan would be on and must use the FN + F8 option to select Wlan.

First you should check if the Bluetooth is inside your laptop. Check if you have a bluetooth stick at the bottom of your laptop. If you do not find one no bluetooth is integrated.

  • Satellite A30 cannot start after cleaning the heatsink

I have a problem with my sat a30. It lights for 5 seconds then goes automatically off and on again for 5 times, before finally shutting down completely. all this began after I cleaned the heatsink. can you give me some advice for what to do with this problem?

This path is not easy to say what is the problem, because, who know what did you exactly and how. As you know do something like that on your own is always risky.

Are there signs of life of the cooling fan? AFAIK the CPU becomes very hot in just seconds after the start, and I presume that CPU is not cooled properly and because of this unit turns off.

  • Satellite A30, Win XP Pro SP3 - modem does not work

Another problem with this laptop Satellite A30
The built-in modem does not work.

    * Explanation: *.
The driver is correct and downloaded from the Toshiba support site.
The modem is identified as "Toshiba software modem amr" and is installed on com3 port.

When I click on "diagnosis" and "ask modem" (right labels can be different, since my is an Italian win xp, I just translated the Italian labels), a window pops up saying: it is impossible to open the door (port), the modem is connected to.

I tried to change the com port of the modem to different numbers, but the problem is the same.
I don't know if the modem is a real map connected somehow to the main Board or is built right on the main map. It would be the first case, I may change see ad. BTW, the mini slot pci is already occupied by the gigabyte of Wi - Fi, so the modem must be elsewhere.

This is strange, since I've done at least 2 other win xp pro on this machine facilities, always download and install the appropriate drivers, and the modem has never worked.
    Thank you
    S.

    Hello

Have you installed the SP3 Windows XP Home edition, then the drivers or SP1 and later updated to level to the SP3 version?

    What other facilities?

I've updated my Toshiba with Windows XP PRO/SP2 laptop.
After installing I found that Windows XP/sp2 is not installed the modem and audio devices.

I tried to download the drivers from the site and tried to install. I got the error message saying driver software is incompatible with the version of the operating system service pack.

I watched on the web and found that there is no driver for Windows XP/sp2 version.

I tried both ways of performing the installation of the driver software and trying to install using the inf file.

At the same time in vain. It is hard to believe that there is no resolution to this problem. I deal I forgot this site to have the right to files already lying in the site for Windows XP/SP2. Could someone send me the url of the software driver for the modem and Audio controllers for my system (Satellite A30 151) under Windows XP/SP2.

    HI Lorraine,.

The site of Toshiba UK lists the following modem drivers: -.

    2122ALL05

    31116ALL5 (for internal V90 modem)

They have the same date, September 19, 2003 and are specific to windows XP that should of course include XP Pro.

The modem uses a virtual com port. It s not a real port.
I wonder why it usually happens after the installation of the new operating system, you must install drivers Toshiba together in the right order
Installing the chipset utility is important

The modem driver should do the work and you n t need to activate com ports
Please choose the right side of the page of the Toshiba driver modem driver after installing the OS correctly. I think that's the key

    Hello

your Satellite A30 - 151 built in a softwaremodem with an Askey chipset (Agere).

I think the solution is to re-download the modem driver and test.

    Go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/

and click on Download & Driver.

After downloading, you will need to unzip the file and start the installation. Another way to install the driver is the .inf. file, go to the Control Panel, system, hardware and Device Manager. Then go into the question mark that is the modem, and tell the driver. Here you have to choose to do it manually and when the wizard you asks to search for the file, go to the folder driver and click the file inf. complete the wizard and the pilot should work
