  Hmmm... never heard of it. It happens when you connect any type of external device via USB port? I just want to know if it is some kind of general problem.

  What Os do you run on your laptop? Uninstall the display driver, and then restart the computer. Then, clean the registry with Ccleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

  If is not always fix this, there may be Os related issue.

  You can also try a program called, Driver Sweeper, to remove the nvidia display driver and reinstall a driver to display again

  Looks like your monitor is having problems sync-ing for the resolution settings that you have defined for your monitor.  When you get your screen is displayed, right-click on an empty area of your desktop-> properties-> (tab) settings.

  Then, in the 'Screen Resolution' area, try to move the cursor to the end of 'Less' and click 'apply '.  It will then try to change to this new resolution.  If your screen is empty for now, just wait about 30 seconds and it will return to the previous resolution (which can mean that you need to power cycle your monitor you have done to get it back)-otherwise accept the settings if your display looks OK.  Try to find a solution that works with your monitor.  It is also possible that your monitor is going bad.

  Hello - I have recently installed Fedora 10 for the sole purpose of installing Oracle XE (so I'm completely new and inexperienced in both)
  
  When I installed Oracle XE, I wasn't invited to any sort of passwords. I installed Oracle using the GUI of Fedora and more or less by clicking these icons square appearance (containers?) and the installation took care of itself. No prompts whatsoever.
  
  Once finished the installation of Oracle, he had a new username in Fedora (Oracle) for which I don't know what is the password. So I can not connect on a user 'Oracle '.
  
  So if I log in as myself, under applications there is a new menu item named "Oracle 10 g Express Edition". If I go into SQL * more it tells me that I'm not connected to a database. If I go to the homepage of database I tells me that "Firefox can't establish a connection to server 127.0.0.1."

  AFAIK in Vista that you can use the same options as under WXp. check please supply option and you will find an option called when I close the lid. As option, choose no action.

  I think you should be able to close the lid while watching the movie on screen.

  Please, try to disable powerplay in the properties of the graphics card and do not set the CPU at low speed in Toshiba Power Saver mode fixed.

• Portege M200: the screen is blank when you switch to Tablet mode

  Have a problem with my Portege M200 and after hours of searching for a solution, I'm still at a complete loss as to how to fix it.

  Essentially, when you attempt to switch to Tablet mode - or if I press the button cover closed 'sensor' on the far right, which is essentially the same thing: the screen goes black.

  This means that I can not in tablet mode at all.

  You description, it looks more like a hardware problem as a problem of software because this happens before an operating system has started. That's why I would exclude a software problem.

  In your case I would recommend you to contact the ASP again and explain the whole situation with your laptop.

  I've been very busy and have therefore been put off watching it.  We have been surviving off the battery and when he runs out to paralyze the system / sleep mode and reload.  It became quite frustrating and that's why I've decided that I really need to fix this problem.
