Have you checked if this software is compatible with Win 7 OS?
You have tested the adapter with Win XP and not Win 7 then I recommend to check this maybe you should also visit the support page of the Dlink manufacture

  • Satellite A660 - boot problems USB after BIOS update

    Hello

I own a Toshiba Satellite A660 and have recently updated the BIOS with the latest version (1.80). Since then, the laptop freezes on the splash screen (the one with the Toshiba logo) whenever a USB flash memory is attached.
It works without the memory flash connected and if I connect it after I enter the starting or the BIOS Setup menu. I can even start her like that.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a serious regression. Is there a way I can downgrade to the version of the BIOS, or any other way to solve this problem? I rely heavily on external USB drives.

    Kind regards
    Claudiu.

    Claudiu salvation,

That is really interesting, I have to say so I tested on my new Satellite A660 and Transcend 4 GB USB Stick. Well, I also installed 1.80 BIOS but I can t view this problem HARD drive is set as first boot device and all the other BIOS settings are default. The Toshiba screen and Windows computer starts as usual.
    No problem at all!

Have you tested different USB devices?

In General, it is not possible to downgrade BIOS. It is possible to an authorized service because Toshiba on page you can download the latest version only but I doubt it s a bug in the new version of BIOS because it works on my A660.

    Hello

I have a satellite A660 18 with built in "Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI - E NIC" wireless network adapter.

When I come out of standby it is impossible to connect to a wireless network, they come to the top in the list but they just don't connect, when I run the troubleshooter it just says: "shure wireless (name) is within reach to make"the only way to solve this problem is to restart the laptop.
Its got this problem since the day I bought it (in the pc world).

I can not find online or on the downloads page toshiba bugfixes and after update the drivers for the wireless adapter it did not always work.
Someone else had this or know how to permenantly fix and if not how do I contact toshiba on this subject.

  • Satellite A660-18 - WLan cannot be enabled - SOLUTION

Awhile back I posted this message on my wireless LAN switching solution.

I finally solved this annoying problem, my laptop is a Satellite A660-18

Out of the box it just wouldn't connect to the wireless network. With the combination of keys Fn + F8 of the report: "Wireless communitcation is disabled, please enable the wireless communication switch.

Of course there is no such switch, just the FN + F8 key combination. After having tried various forums and technical support, I solved the problem myself.

    * The solution is: *.

Go to the folder on your c drive "program files\Toshiba\TBS. Then scroll down the list of program files and double-click the file named TBSWireless.exe and hey presto, wireless communication goes on (Amber Light lights on the lower right front of the computer). Now the combination of FN + F8 key it will turn on and.

    Bye to all

But I just realized I forgot to mention, you just do this once after the FnF8 press key on functions correctly.

I had to redo the procedure recently when I've updated my Bios system, the wireless Lan would pass on once again, regardless of how many times I pressed FnF8. But the routine above it sorted once more.

So now, rather than to go through the routine of the entire folder/file, I just click right on the file of TBS and then selected send to the taskbar, so now if the problem persists, I just click the TBS icon in my taskbar.

    hope this helps,
    End

  • Cannot connect the Satellite A660 to WLan - card not found Intel

I unboxed it today and connected to my home wireless network. Everything was fine.
I propose then my laptop in the living room where the router and the modem is, the connection dies less than a minute or two.
Then he says that there are no networks in range at all, cannot detect everything.

I troubleshoot it and the results are: he says: problem with the router / access point is fixed; and another notification that says a network cable is disconnected or may be broken. I have no cable so idk why he tries a wired connection. I reset my router and tried everything.

I take her back to połączyćto left home in my room and it works fine, no drop outs.
It's all new, satellite a66. I made sure that my data was on and the wifi is good.

Another notification appears when I troubleshoot that says "My technology Intel wifi adapter not found" idk what it is all...

    Thank you.

    > Another notification appears when I troubleshoot that says "My technology Intel wifi adapter not found" idk what it is all...
Because of this message, I would recommend checking the status of the WiFi (WLan card) adapter in Device Manager.
You could uninstall the WLan driver in Device Manager.
Then you need to download the latest driver from this page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

and should install the new drivers.
Reconfigure the Wlan connection and test functionality.

PS: Please make sure that the WiFi was enabled (FN + F8) before trying to set up the connection.

  • Satellite T130 - adapter WLAN gone

    Hi all

A strange thing: after my recently bought T130 came out of the Suspend Mode, the wireless card was missing. The key combination now allows only the switching Bluetooth switch Fn + F8, it does no more than WiFi. In addition, the Device Manager in Windows 7 no longer mentions the card. * Note *, he's not there with a yellow exclamation point. + Is he +.

I tried a recent Linux distribution (Fedora 12) and it can also detect the thing (the lspci/lsusb commands do not mention it). Everything else works.

The strange thing is that the card worked perfectly before, and this was not the first time that the computer was put in Suspend Mode (although when it became that the computer had been suspended for a long time, longer than 2 days).

I have already updated to the latest version of the BIOS (version 1.9, it was originally 1.7). No change.

In the BIOS Setup, the option to activate the WiFi is enabled. This laptop does not have a physical external switch to turn on/off wireless.

Nobody knows how to solve this problem, or even why it happens? Anyone else noticed that, with this laptop model or another?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi mate

First, please check if the WiFi is enabled.
He then directed hand right side see the WLan and the first LED on the right shows LED WAN.

Please make sure that the second LED ON.
Please use the FN + F8 combination to activate the Wlan.

NOTES; It is very important for the WLan would be activated in the BIOS!
There is an option that activates the WLan switch

  • Satellite A660 - Broadcom internal wireless adapter does not work

    Hi all

My first post to this forum - I have a new laptop of Toshiba Satellite A660 - only had for about 4 weeks and it turns out be a disaster for me...

Firstly - I spend weeks getting everything on and configured as I want - then the hard drive begins to die...

I just returned it service center Toshiba and NOW wifi has stopped working...
Internal broadcom wireless adapter doesn't work - but according to windows and built-in Diagnostics it works...

HOWEVER - when I try to use wireless with the built-in adapter may not detect all wireless networks...

I then plug in my adapter netgear usb wireless backup and I can pick up and connect both of my wireless home networks...
I am moving abroad in a few weeks and need to know that my laptop will work/be reliable and not have any problems-if anyone can help me with this, it would be much appreciated.

  • Satellite A660 3rd party WLAN does not work

    Hello

I had a problem with my WLAN adapter so I used to replace.
Currently, I have installed card Broadcom Dell Wireless 1397.
It has been defined by Device Manager and drivers have been installed.
But it is impossible to turn on the WLAN.
When I click the buttons activate WLAN, it just back to the OFF position.
    I also use Windows 10.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

I own Satellite A660 - 16 M. Initially, it was equipped with Broadcom BCM4318 WLAN card. I decided to replace it with an Intel Centrino N-6230 dual band with 3.1 Bluetooth card. Replacement process was fairly easy, the problem was to make the new card working group. I use Windows 10 as an upgrade to Windows 7 Home. As you can imagine that the utility flash cards stopped working after the upgrade of the system, but Windows 10 has managed to cope with BCM4318 since the original drivers and Windows 7 registry entries have been always working in the background. The WLAN button above the keyboard worked, was so orange the LED in the front of the laptop.

Situation changed completely with the new Intel Centrino 6230 N WLAN card. Despite he properly recognized by device with all the necessary drivers automatically responsible manager, I was unable to have the WLAN button and the LED orange work which is to turn on the radio (the card WLAN itself, its possibilities of wifi). The weird part is that the Bluetooth worked without any problems.

The solution was to put a small piece of electrical tape on the 20 PIN of the new WLAN card to prevent WLAN DISABLE State presented to the motherboard. So RADIO WLAN is always on, so Windows 10 own wifi tools were able to switch on the WIFI network and... I see now all (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) wireless networks. Of course the WLAN button and the orange LED still haven't work (it seems that it is somehow hardcoded to support only the original BCM4318) but I don't love about it. The most important is that I'm now a lot more capable wireless network inside my laptop card.

I hope that the solution above works in your case, 8stack. Watch the attached files to see what she looked like, as in my case.

  • Satellite A660 - WLan Broadcom 802.11n very slow on Win 8

    Hello.

    I have a Satellite A660 PSAW3a 07r00r and my speedtest is usually 12 or 13 MB/s
After you have installed Windows 8 64 bit, my speed went back to 2 or 3 MB/s.
All my other computers are still at 12 or 13 MB/s.

I tried the drivers 64-bit windows 7 as well but no luck.
It seems to be a common theme when I googled.
My broadcom driver version is 5.60.48.35.

Someone at - it solution or something for me to try?

    Thank you, Will.

    Hello

As I m not wrong the 802.11 standards (B/G/N) WLan wireless card BROADCOM BCM94313 supports.

What Wlan standard are you using exactly?
The Wlan standard can be changed in the Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab

Given that the wireless network adapter supports 802.11 B / G and N, the 2.4 Ghz frequency is supported.
This means that max 54 Mbps transfer rate is supported
    But it's just a theoretical value. You will never get to 54 megabits/s usual speed would be ~20Mbit/s = ~ 2.5Mbyte / s

As you already get 2 or 3 MB/s, everythign seems to be OK

  • Satellite A660 - limited to 2 MB/s USB key

I have a Satellite A660 PSAW #C - 047017. Transfers of files with several sticks of memory appear to be limited to 2 MB/s. Theoretically, it is much more than an order of magnitude higher. Anyone else encounter this?

    Hi Bookworm123,

Can you post more information about this behavior? What operating system you are using and if it s the version preinstalled Windows of Toshiba or not.

Generally support USB itself is a function of the speed of transfer of files on USB support

Have you checked the Device Manager for the yellow exclamation points on the USB ports? I would try a chipset driver in your case and it can be downloaded on the official page of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

  • Satellite A660 - USB 2.0 ports are inadmissible

My laptop series Satellite A660 is a month old and worked fine so far. However, I turned on the machine and all the three Ports USB 2.0 are inadmissible. I Shut Down and restarted the computer - no change.

(Windows 7-16 Bit OS) Control Panel - manage devices - it is said that all USB Ports 2.0 are recognized and working. In fact, NO device in one of the three (3) USB2.0 Ports are actually be recognized or working at all - there is no answer. Interestingly, the port eSATA/USB combo of 1 one works and responds correctly.

    Can anyone help?

Should I just send it was pushing the shop? Yes, it's still under warranty.

    Hey,.

    > Should I just send it was pushing the shop?
No, I think that it s just a USB driver problem.

In your case I would reinstall the chipset of the official website of Toshiba driver. Also, you have the latest version, try to reinstall it because it contains the USB drivers and maybe it's something wrong with her s.

After installation of the chipset driver test it again. If it doesn t work to remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager and restart your laptop. The USB ports will be reinstalled automatically.

What version of BIOS you have installed?

  • 3 USB ports on 4 does not work on Satellite A660-12th

Hi, I have a problem with my laptop french: 3 or 4 of my usb ports does not work.

    My laptop is a:
    Satellite A660-12th
    Reference: PSAW3E-02700GFR

    I almost tried everything:
    -reinstall all drivers
-Uninstalling the root USB controller and restart the computer
-Finally to format my laptop and clean reinstall.

-3 ports still does not work and I do not know how to solve them.

I bought an of 2 TB external HARD drive and its driver is installed but not recognized by the last working USB port. I really need to fix the other 3. Could you help me?

Wait a moment have you tested all 3 USB ports only for external 2 TB HDD?
How USB ports do not work if you connect a USB mouse or a USB flash memory stick?

Page plug Toshiba says that this laptop supports 3 2.0 USB ports: 1 left, 2 right
The one on the left is a port eSATA/USB 2.0 supporting sleep and fresh.

  • Satellite A660 - new power adapter required

I have a Satellite A660 and the power adapter has recently stopped charging my battery. A friend has exactly the same brand and using its adapter worked fine.

So I need a replacement, although I can't find the right. I want to buy a true Toshiba and not a knockoff from ebay I got hurt with those who in the past.

My AC adapter part number is PA3716E-1AC3.

You could point me in the right direction of genuine compatible currently available adapters?

You have the exact your order adapter reference please the same adapter. You can order by Toshiba service provider or some independent PC online stores.

Put the part number as search terms in Google for your country and I m you will find for online ordering.

  • Satellite A660: how to record videos with USB webcam?

I recently bought a Satellite A660, which has a built-in webcam. Using the Toshiba provided video application I can record videos, but I find the clarity and brightness of the rather poor image, even in good lighting.

I have a USB webcam that I plugged in and tested for example in Skype, and he produces images much better under the same conditions. My question is: How can I know Toshiba video application to use instead of the built-in USB webcam? I can't find any settings where I can choose which camera to use.

If this is not possible, do I need to install other video recording software? Windows 7 does not have all the applications where you can simply record a video from a webcam (I thought Windows Move Maker to do that, but apparently not).

I just want to be able to record videos of my USB webcam - any suggestions on the best way to proceed would be welcome.

    Thank you

    Howard

Put I don't think something like this is possible. Pre-installed Camera Assistant Software is obviously designed to work with the built in cam only.
What you need is a third party software that you can use for this application.

Google around a bit and visit a few video forums where you can pick up some info on it.
