It is really strange. Disconnect your laptop power jack, remove the battery and press the power button for 10-20 seconds. After doing this let him for some time, connect the power adapter only and try to turn on again.

Please let us know what happen when you do this.
Out of curiosity: you may have updated BIOS or done something that may be responsible for such strange behavior?

  • Re: Satellite C660 - fan starts then stops

    Hello

Sorry for my English, I'm French, I have a Toshiba Satellite C660 laptop a few days ago and I noticed that the fan starts and stops every minute at any time when the temperature exceeds about 40 degrees (noted with SpeedFan).
Even if I'm just the desktop, the Internet. However, it does not heat up much. Is this normal?

Before I had a laptop and the fan stops, but almost never had low-noise. I prefer it, but it's can be a simple matter of habit for the Toshiba...?

    Hello

Try it please change cooling method option in the advanced power settings.

Open power options > n a click your power profile that you use > choose the advanced power options > Toshiba Power Saver Settings > cooling method > change two optimized battery options.

I think that this will reduce fan activity.

    Please test and send feedback.

  • Satellite C660/C660D starts not (black screen)

So this morning after having attempted to power my Toshiba Satellite C660/C660D upward I met up with a black screen.

The power lights both work and light, fans the vortex when I turn on but nothing ever comes on the screen, I was wondering if someone could help here?

It is less than 3 months.

To be honest I really don t know how to help you.
Remove the battery, leave the laptop for a while and try to start the laptop with AC power only. Try to do several times with or without battery. If nothing is done it must be a hardware problem, so I recommend you contact Toshiba service and ask for help.

Guarantee is valid, then there is no reason to worry about this.

  • Satellite C660 - cannot start the facial recognition software

When I try to run face recognition software I get a window saying to contact my administrator - I have the status of administration on the Satellite C660 laptop.

    Hello

I think that this tool is confusing upward in some way. Therefore, the first thing that should be judged is a new software installation. I recommend you to uninstall this tool first.
You can do it is Panel-> software

After the uninstall, it would be recommended to clean the registry. This can be done by using a software like CCleaner.
After that, download Toshiba face recognition software pilot European page and install again.

    Good luck

  • Satellite C660-119 starts

Hi guys I got some problems with my laptop, need some advice.

I've had my laptop for about 4 years now. For the last two months the laptop just stops suddenly and randomly. When I click the power button the power light once and the battery flashing light flashed twice, the laptop does not start.

After a while, it would be but then suddenly stop again.
I thought the battery was the problem, so I replaced the battery, still the same problem.
I cleaned the fan and the laptop using compressed air and still the same problem.

Now the laptop does not turn on.
When I press the power button, the power light flashes once and battery light flashes two times, but the laptop does not light.

Anyone faced the same problem before? Or can someone help me?
Sorry for my choice of lover of words btw
    Thank you

I think that the laptop has developed a hardware problem.
I guess you don't have many options: you can test the RAM modules because the modules memory defective RAM could prevent Notepad to start. But that s all other parts can be controlled in common laptop user.

If you want to follow the troubleshooting, you should follow with other parties such as the CPU or the motherboard. But it is a very delicate procedure. In addition, the motherboard is an expensive part and in my eyes it s not worth to buy this piece just for testing purposes.

USED THIS MORNING, SHUT IT DOWN IN A NORMAL MANNER, WENT TO START TONIGHT AND GETS A BLACK SCREEN WITH "A DISK READ ERROR OCCURRED. PRESS CTRL + ALT + DELETE TO RESTART»

I TRIED TO RESTART, TRIED BOOTING IN SAFE MODE, AND THEN RETURNED.

SOMEONE HAS SUGGESTED EVEN TAKE OUT THE BATTERY AND PUT IT BACK BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK.

    CAN ANY ONE HELP?

    Thank you

    Hello

It looks like a problem with the HARD drive.
Please check if the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS. Switch on and press F2.
Usually, this will help you access the BIOS.
In the BIOS on the front page that the HARD drive should be mentioned is that?
Otherwise, this means that the HARD drive is dead and must be replaced

By the way: you did not post the laptop model but if it s 3 weeks old, then you must get in touch with Toshiba service, if the HARD disk is defective you should get a new one for free because the warranty to be valid.

I just buy a Toshiba satellite it there two days now, but the fan turns on every minute when I go only on the web...

    Please

    Hello

The fan would turn if the CPU would be stressed.
You can check in the Task Manager process stresses the CPU and could check if you can disable it.

In addition, I would recommend checking the Win 7 Power Management
There you can change the settings of the optimised battery cooling modules.

    Hope this helps

  • Satellite C660-21Z - System Message about the error with cooling system

I've had my laptop for 11 months now, and in the last days a system message was appearing on my screen saying there is a problem with the cooling system and that I should turn off the laptop and return it for service. I'm not sure if it a message genuine system or if it is in fact spam.

The answers would be grateful to you

    Hello

I have read on this message and looks like it s a software bug
Have you noticed any problems with the cooling system? I mean something like a higher temperature or unexpected shutdown from the bottom?
If not then it's a bad alarm
You can ignore this message and I read that after new system recovery the message did not appear again.

  • My Satellite C660-1UJ does not start

    Hello people,

My laptop Toshiba Satellite * c660-1uj starts up.

It does nothing when I press the powerbutton.
When I connect the poweradapter I hear a clicking sound, as it is with or without the battery and I also see the light (led) battery flashes green.

I think it has something to do with my motherboard, but I'm not sure.

I would like to be sure before you buy a new.
Does anyone know where the problem is and how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Sjoerd

    > I think it has something to do with my motherboard, but I don't know.
Yes, I think that this problem could be related to problems of motherboard.
But this would be the worst case, given that the new motherboard is very expensive part I gues guarantee is not valid?

But why you put the memory t-test? Faulty RAM memory may prevent startup laptop and power. Replace the RAM module is not very difficult.

Of course, you would need to buy new modules for verification, but maybe you could visit some technicians computer/laptop to downtown who could test the device with new RAM modules.
In this case it would be pointless to buy the parts for testing purposes only.

  • Satellite C660-1F1 has start off without warning

Recently my laptop Satellite C660-1F1 start off without warning and I read in other forums that it could be an overheating problem.

You have advice on how can I fix?

    Thank you
    Paul

Yes, one of the solutions could be the cleaning of the cooling fans.
Dust and debris inside the unit and cooling modules may affect the functionality of fan.
The air circulation could be affected too then remove the dust using a jet of compressed air.
Its good tool to get these issues resolved without separate laptops.

  • Satellite C660 - cracking noise

My laptop Toshiba Satellite C660/C660D started doing the cracking noise today and just after a month of purchase. Hi r.lima,

To be honest I put t think you can do a lot to solve this problem of cracking noise wait contact an authorized service provider for help because it must be a hardware problem but that s just my personal opinion.

On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of aspic. Just look for an ASP in your country and get in touch with the guys. I m what they help you and will tell you more information on this subject and what to do now.

  • Satellite C660 - Freez after boot - corrupt BIOS update 1.7

The Satellite C660 had start-up problems: freezing screen after startup and very, very slow. Also a HARD drive recovery did not help.

I tried an update of the Bios and loaded the downloadable file that at Toshiba (version 1.7). The Bios update has not completed and now the laptop does not at all.

The warranty is void, I now buy a chip of bios in China and I'm looking for now the bios file.

It's all them very disappointing and a large size of time and money.

    > The Bios update has not completed and now the laptop does not at all.
That s it Plains really looks like the module ROM was not properly flashed.
I think it's a problem with the hardware, since you had problems before the update of the BIOS.
I think that affected the procedure for updating the BIOS.

    > As the warranty is cancelled, I now buy a chip of bios in China and I'm now looking for the bios file.
Forget it mate ROM module cannot be replaced in most cases the module ROM must be flashed with a disc of crisis

Would recommend asking a Toshiba ASP for help and reflash the BIOS using the disc of the crisis.
This should not be very expensive

  • Satellite C660-108 does not start if the USB Bluetooth dongle connected

    Hiya,

I hope you could help me.

I'm having a problem with my dongle bluetooth and satellite c660-108.
It all works perfectly. It connects devices via bluetooth and I can do whatever I want.

But then when I'm mobile stop and turn it on again it will go if the bluetooth dongle is always in the USB.

I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with a black screen and a cursor flashing at the top left.
I have to turn it off, remove the bluetooth dongle and then turn it back on.
And then windows starts. After that, I put in bluetooth dongle, once again I want to work with her.

It isn't a huge problem, but it is a bit annoying when I have to leave the bluetooth and put it back again to get the windows began.
I'm running under win 8.1 but he already had with 8 victory.

    Anyone any ideas?

    > I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with a black screen and a cursor flashing at the top left.
Especially the blinking cursor is displayed because the laptop can not find a boot device.

It seems that the device cannot put on the HARD drive while the USB dongle is connected.
I would recommend you check the boot order in the BIOS.

Put the HARD drive in the first place and the USB boot last device.
Save changes and check if it helps.
