    Hello

Today, I wanted to do recovery USB stick with Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. To this end, I bought 16 GB 3 / 10 MB/key Verbatim s.

I tried several times without success. Whenever I tried a Toshiba Recovery Media Creator noticed the error: * 040E2D-00-00000000 error code *... or nothing happened. I put in another new 16 GB USB 3 / 10 MB/s and the same thing happened.

After that, I tried the third USB I had - Corsair 32 GB USB 3.0. And it worked: I did successfully recovery USB key, but this key that I use for other things...

Then I continued with 16 GB Verbatim key. After a few tests more Toshiba Recovery Media Creator noticed "* no HDD Recovery area" * and after that I could do nothing. ".

    * What should I do now? * I think I did not ' do anything bad, just tried data recovery in the key of 16 GB. The only thing I did is this button formats formatting (with disk management... because after all the computers of the trial has not yet identified key...).

    Hello

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. The fact is that recovery image is marked with specific markers that can be found in Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. When the creator find these markers application starts correctly and recovery media can be created.
I can't tell what the problem is here.
    > After that, I tried the third USB I had - Corsair 32 GB USB 3.0. And it worked: I did successfully recovery USB key, but this key that I use for other things...
This sentence confused me. You have successfully recovery USB key created or not?

By the way: try to start the HARD drive recovery facility to see if the same message again.

  • Satellite L500-1XC HDD Recovery help

Hi I have a Satellite L500-1XC of second hand, the former owner has installed Ubuntu (which I can't access because of password) as well as windows 7 and I try restore laptop to factory settings, but I just don't know how.

I tried to turn it off and holding, then 0 and pressing the Start button. On the bottom of the home screen says HDD Recovery at the bottom left of the screen, but after that, he just the part of the selection for me to choose Ubuntu or Windows 7 and then just charge the laptop as usual.

I tried to get the Recovery Media Creator, but I'm not. It seems that a lot of original Toshiba Utilities and supports have been removed.

If anyone can help me fix this laptop, I'd be so grateful that I can not really afford to buy a Toshiba Recovery disk.

    Thank you

    > I'm trying to restore the laptop to factory settings, but I just don't know how
I put t I think that HARD drive recovery would work because Linux has been installed on the HARD drive and I think that the partition table has been changed.
This might be the reason why the HDD recovery isn't working.

You can always see this Toshiba document that describes the whole HARD drive recovery procedure:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

So now, drive HARD recovery does not work in this case, you can only use the installation disc.
You can try to install Windows 7 using the Microsoft disk (Toshiba drivers are downloadable) or you order the disc of Arvato:

  • Re: Toshiba Recovery Media Creator - no HDD Recovery area

Hi friends, I bought a new Toshiba Kirabook PSU8SA-00V00U, a few months ago. I wanted to create emergency recovery disks, but whenever I start Toshiba Recovery Media Creator, it comes with a message that HARD drive recovery area undetected.

Then I tried running the recovery environment by pressing 0 at the beginning upward.
It comes with a blue screen saying that can not load from the recovery partition.

I checked with Paragon Hard Disk Partition Manager software that the recovery drive is available.

How do I make a recovery media or connect this HDD in system recovery so that Toshiba Recovery Media Creator detects the recovery disk and made recovery media. If in the future, if I want to reset the PC to factory settings, it will be even coming up with a blue screen saying that it can not load the recovery environment.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Hello

Fact is that the installation of image recovery or recovery media creation works if the machine has only factory settings. In other words, everything must be in original condition without any changes. With the changes I mean, original OS must be installed and the structure of the partitions of HARD drive should not be changed.

If you try to change HARD drive partitions original structure the system in general, or Toshiba recovery media creator, will be confused and will not be able to find what we call markers which provide information on the exact location on the HARD disk where the recovery image is placed or registered.

Did you do something that might be responsible for this situation?

  • Satellite L500-1DT: HDD Recovery of Win 7 is stuck in an endless loop

It's a so detailed bug report please bear with me.
If you can help, or can confirm that you have had the same thing happen to you, I will be grateful.

I've owned several Toshiba laptops before and I've even worked for Toshiba so worry, I like the machine. But I have a problem with his recovery software. I just bought a laptop Satellite L500-1DT with Windows 7 64 bit, on behalf of a non-techie who lives elsewhere. Since I know from experience that I have to sometimes panic calls from field in the sense of "it became too slow", "How do I get rid of the accumulated junk", "maybe he had a virus" and so on, the first thing I checked was ASR, which is how to bring the HD to "like new" condition.

So I started out in the machine, replied to the questions until I got in the appropriate operating system, then led the program "make a recovery DVD. Double layer DVD checked ok. With the freshly made DVDs, I swapped the HD for a spare part, I had (much less: only 40 GB instead of 320) and started the rescue DVD hoping it would fix my own system to the blank disc.

He did repartition the drive according to its schema, with more or less half the space for Windows and the other half for the data, including the recovery files. He did install the system in the Windows partition. It was then restarted in Windows 7 installed in order to complete the installation. There, the trouble began: an endless loop of reboots for hours until what I stopped it.

    Loop:
    * reset
    * black screen with bright logo 4 color windows «windows startup»
    * black screen with slight blade and "Setup prepares your computer for first use.
    * blue white screen "Welcome" with "please wait" and the crossbar with green blob, saying "the installation may take several minutes. Please do not interrupt or shut down the computer! »
    * blue screen saying it stops

    Repeat the above forever.

I saw him restart way more than 10 times over several hours. And whenever he's faking, that this is the first time she did it. Of course, this is not normal!

I tried to stop with ctrl-alt-del and the Task Manager, but the white screen would go even the Task Manager, making it difficult to kill any process or even inspect what they were on top. I stopped it by holding down the power button until it shuts. Then when it restarts it said that if I wanted safe mode. I tried. He went into the routine above and at one point he says that he could not proceed with the installation, if it was in safe mode. So he restarted in normal mode and then...! It is finally out of the endless loop!

Then he asked me all the usual language, record etc., questions as he did the first time I had turned on him. This seemed good. Finally, I walked into a newly installed operating system and everything seemed fine, except that I found out later that some programs that were there before were not installed.
With bravery bordering stupidity (*) I even Redid the procedure hard disk provided instead of my rescue: first I have nuked the windows partition, then I save the HD (with F8), not with the DVD that I had done. Result: similar rigmarole, with endless reboot.

After that I stopped it, it kind-of-worked, as above, but now some programs were lacking, such as the Toshiba DVD drive.

(*) motivated by: better try now with the computer here and all my tools and other computers ready at hand, that when the computer died at home of its owner, and that's the only thing left to try with me at the other end of a line call. Been there before.

Now, that specific (DVD player), that I could download it from the support page and it installed fine. But what else might be missing or not working not that I have not noticed? The restore process is clearly not working as it should.

I'm the first or only to whom it happens? I'm doing something wrong? Is there anything else I should try?

I need to make sure that the restore procedure works perfectly while I still have the computer in my hands. If not, there is no chance that I'll be able to do a remote reinstall for my non-techie, once I asks me to clean the laptop by phone a few months from now.

    Thanks in advance

[Update: just looking for the right place where I could post what I found that other people report the same problem.] This is definitely a bug in the software distributed for W7 - 64 overlay, not a problem isolated to my machine. See for example
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=49421&TSTART=0 where the user kwarc described the same symptoms with a Satellite L505.

    Hello

First of all, I must say that I could recover my trouble free unit.
The installation of Win 7 went well and everything has been installed correctly.

    Back to you:
To me it looks like something wrong with installation maybe some HARD drive partitions were confues perhaps, HARD drive should again formatted, and then run the recovery procedure.
    You should test

    Regarding the DVD player:
As much as I know there is no DVD player for Win 7 64 bit. There are only available for Win 64 bit updated. If you need to install the DVD player for Win 7 32 bit version and then update using the patch released for Win7 64 bit.

  • Satellite L500-13Z - HDD recovery is not present

Sorry for my very bad English first!

I want to reinstall Win7 but the recovery of HARD drive menu on the screen (Boot, F8, repair,...) is not present in the menu.

If you n t understand my question, can u send me the web address of the French forum?

    Thank you

    Hello

At first, I must say that your English is good and understandable.
    So, back to your problem.

If it is not possible to repair my computer option is not available in the installation of HARD drive recovery advanced options of booting (from the recovery image stored on the HARD drive).
It can only be done with recovery DVDs.

You have created recovery DVD suite Toshiba tips and how to proceed?

  • Satellite L650-12 q - Toshiba HDD Recovery does not

    Toshiba Satellite L650-12 q
    Windows 7 64 bit

I am looking to re - install Windows using the Toshiba HDD Recovery software on my hard drive to restore the computer to factory settings.
I followed the procedure to do this in the System Recovery Options, but received the following message is displayed:

"The recovery of the operating system is impossible!
Not found the HDD Recovery folder on the second disc of the first hard drive. There is no valid disk HARD recovery environment on this computer. »

    More details:
Before you do the above, I supported the system and the files and folders using AOMEI Backupper. I then made the mistake of the merger of C: D: and E: partitions, E: contained HDDR files.

After having tried the recovery above and receive the above message, I reinstalled the file system I had saved on an external hard drive, which resulted in a copy of the drive C: and E: drive with HDDR files.
Unfortunately, when I tried to recover the operating system, the same message appeared.

Then I tried to use a system restore disc, I had created a few weeks ago, but concluded that, for some reason that CD is empty.

The good news is that the computer still works - slowly - and HDDR files seem to be still there, but for some reason, inaccessible.

What are my options? I want to go back to initial factory settings so that I can go back and re-install the programs and files that I want to. (I backed up all my files and have records of installation for programs).

If the worst comes to the worst and I have to buy a Windows 7 disc (if that's even possible - I don't want Windows 8), it would be possible to install on this computer and it would give me a clean install, without any of the garbage which is currently cluttering up my computer?

Thank you for reading, and I would be grateful for any advice you can offer.

In your case, the situation is clear: HARD drive recovery facility does not work?
If you want to have the laptop with the settings you have an option only: for recovery image installation you must use the installation of recovery disc.

If I understand right you don t, entitled?
But you can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

    Hello
    are how you today

    I own a toshiba Satellite L755.
I have recently upgraded to windows 7 to windows 8, and now I do not have windows 8. I want to go back to windows 7.

Many people say that it is possible using the HDD Recovery folder that I have on my D drive and it s 13.5 GB.

What I need is to know if its possible and if you can you explain to me how its done.

I searched the Web for an answer for tha last 4 hours and I thank you

    > Many people say that it is possible using the HDD Recovery folder that I have on my D drive and it s 13.5 GB

A lot of people said you can use HARD drive recovery in order to put the system back to factory settings.
This true s but this is possible ONLY if the system has not been modified.

In case you have changed the system, you could go back to the factory settings using the recovery disk!
Recovery disk may be created using the preinstalled tool called Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.

Have you created this disc in the past!

  • Satellite T135 how to enter Safe Mode and HDD Recovery if 'F8' does not work

    Hello everyone

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite T135 and it crashed recently. Since then, whenever I turn it on, startup repair is enabled automatically. But it does not fix the error.
I tried to solve the problem with the system restore, but that no longer works. So I think I have to go through the procedure of HARD drive recovery.

The problem is that I have a lot of data on my laptop that I must first of all safe. I wanted to do it via Safe Mode that supposedly, I should be able to enter by pressing "F8" at initialization, when the Windows logo appears. But my laptop is not responding when I press F8, but rather getting a sound alert, if I press the button for a long time.

Apart from how to enter safe mode by pressing F8 during initialization does not work, I have a second question: Toshiba Recovery Wizard is the equivalent for the HDD recovery procedure? It is the only similar option that I could find...

Thank you very much for your advice.

    Hello

The recovery of HARD drive installs the image of Toshiba.
The image is the package that contains the operating system, drivers and all the tools that have been installed on the first day of purchase; simply said; using HARD drive recovery you would set the laptop back to factory settings.

You want to save the date before you install the operating system once more?
Well, remove the HARD drive, put this in a USB HDD enclosure and move the file to the HARD drive to another computer.
It would be the best way to get the file save.

  • Do not have "Toshiba HDD Recovery" on Satellite U300-151 with Vista

I have problem with Vista - it became too slow so I want to get back to factory settings.

I went through the process described in [http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm] and then, instead of "Toshiba HDD recovery" as a last option-, I have 'Restore the full Windows operating system' which is the last one after 'comand prompt. When I click on that I get another box with warning by saying "when you reinstall windows OS reformats the hard drive and all data will be lost" and "If the preinstalled files are damaged you can use the product recovery disc (which I don't have)" and there are no other or any button except OK which I click and it just brings back me to the list "System Recovery Option"...

I have Toshiba recovery disc creator no - it was not pre-installed when I bought computer - even if I had all the other software from toshiba.

And I know that I can buy the recovery disk, but I don't think that pay 30 dollars for something that I should have had with the computer: and my computer is still under warranty.

Delivered using the recovery media, you will be able to install Vista.
Recovery image contains all of the drivers, tools and utilities, and after the installation of clean operating system, you should not install some additional software.

    Bye and good luck!

    Thank you guys

    Hello

As I know, that you won't be able to use HARD drive recovery option after installing other Windows operating systems
HARD drive recovery would be only available with Toshiba preinstalled image.
The new facility would change the master boot record and boot model will be modified. I guess the recovery of HARD drive option is not available in the menu new.
So create a disk recovery first before you install any other OS!
