Satellite L650 is not working properly

Hello, so I bought toshiba satellite about 4 years ago. A few months ago, I spoke with my sister on SKype and suddenly everything crashed, so I tried CTRL + ALT + DEL as usual in a situation like this, but I did not work so I had to turn off manually. Then when I tried your turn on again the system has been loading for a long period of time and finally charged after 6 hours. I wanted to open Skype, but there was just a blank white page instead of Skype. After a few minutes, I realize that all microsoft programs work (Excel, Word, Power Point).

I couldn't write anything in word and I didn't have the toolbar in one of the above programs. I managed to talk with my sister on facebook, Skype, but I have another problem occurred. Just after I turned on my laptop and when I open the web browser for the first time that it overwrites on the first web page and I need to close the web browser turn new and then it works. Two days ago my web browser began to crash more often and now I don't know what to do with it. I have tried factory reset, but for some reason, pressing '0' key did not work at all, I hear the beep, but then the system just load normally. I don't know if I can do the factory via bios reset and I don't know what to do with...

My laptop model is Toshiba Satellite L650-1MC.
Appreciate your help.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. I recommend to save al your data and try to install the original recovery image. Please ry with F8 at startup.
How it works you can read it here - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

  • DVD sound on Satellite P100 is not working properly

For some reason, my sound DVD (on Satellite P 100-186) no longer works correctly. The sound is ignored and scraping.

It has worked before and I don't know when it has stopped working. Any thoughts?

    Hello

Maybe an update of the rather could be useful. But when you do, you should look at www.realtek.com for the manufacturer of the sound card driver.
And you should seek the latest codecs which are probably most of the problems if it is not installed correctly. Maybe you need to install the codec pack k - lite (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm) which is really good and covering the most need of codecs.

  • Energy saving by satellite M70 does not work properly

The question is who also if I put on turn off the hard disk media option, after 2 minutes, that the hard drive stops working until I do something like change the page or use some programs. Is this a bug in the utility of Toshiba?

    Hello

Sorry, but your comment is a little confuse.
You can set the HDD OFF power at different stages.
This function allows to reduce the power consumption of your PC by stopping the rotation of hard drive, provided that data are NOT being read from or written to the hard drive

You can also use the stand mode. This function must be activated and the time must be set. The laptop comes in stand mode if you do not use the laptop several minutes or hours. It depends on the setting of the time.

  • Satellite M60 - does not work properly

    Hello

I had a Toshiba M60 laptop for 1 year and 7 months (reconditioned) and, last year, I had a driving Test DVD for my birthday, my sister ensured that it was compatible with my laptop. I had the DVD for a few weeks and then my computer crashed, and it made a loud howling noise and then no sound at all.

I had my computer live by my sister desktop computer from Curry, after the problem I have with it, I got nothing out of it then, I took it to the store of the Curry to Prescot (that he was under a 12 month guarantee) support in the store did a system restore, which seem to do the trick (So I thought)

More recently he stopped typing, the mouse pointer appears to be out of position. I did drop my computer at some point but, it was after all
I have just described. But I do not let it fall from a great height, at the time, I had my camera to the computer on the Chair next to fire, I dirtied and have a little laugh with my family, took my computer out of its case, raised my arms in the air and my computer has slipped, the arm of the Chair , on the side and then, I heard a bit of a bump on the end of the opening of the computer, on the wooden floor, I checked immediately, much to my relief, he worked including the internet, there was just a crack on the left side of the screen and then, once again, there was a small crack near the hinge on the side even when I got it.

A few weeks after this incident, I turned on my computer, but this time the screen not turn on, I tried with just the power socket, but not joy. I even let the battery a few days after notice of a person, but still, no joy, then I tried with just the battery still once, there was a bit of life, but that was just to hear the theme to start but nothing, the screen is not lit and, then, it was intermittent with the mains or battery, then both and now , no matter what, no screen no sound, nothing, I'm emailing you from another computer by the way, I note that not even the power cord is warm, even if there is a warning that it can become hot, I tried to use my other laptop but computer power cord, I'm afraid in case, it blows it and I'm going to be in trouble because I don't know what the cause of the problem.

I know it sounds a lot, but it could be if all goes well something that I can do it myself (with a bit of luck) my sister is very good with this stuff, but not even she is able to understand it "which is unusual.

Thank you very much for your time

    Kind regards

    Philomena Carolan (Miss)

Looks like there could be two problems:

    (1) a screen problem, LCD or inverter
    (2) a supply problem, probably the motherboard.

I bring to an ASP and a quote for repairs.

  • Satellite P200 accidents + message: graphic card driver does not work properly

    Hello

hope that this issue has not been covered before, but I've owned a Satellite P200 for 3 years now, and this week, it crashes all the time.

When it started going down he gave me a few messages in the sense of "your graphics card/driver does not work properly and windows will be arrested to avoid damage.

It has progressed to the point where now when I turn it on, I have vertical lines running down the screen and the screen flashes on and outside. Within 20 seconds, it restores the BSOD - 'there was a problem and windows will be arrested. Error Page_Fault_In_Non_Paged_Area"then stops.

I ran a system restore but the problem remains.

I have a feeling that my graphics card is toast. Is this good? Are there any other options to try? Thanks in advance for any answers.

    Matt

    Hello

    Sounds like the GPU problem.
But try the graphics card driver update.
Use the most recent driver for your graphics card.

In addition, clean the fans of portable computers.
Dust and debris could prevent the cooling fans to turn with the best speed and this could lead to a higher temperature which would lead to overheating.
Use a jet of compressed air. I also use it and it helps to get rid of dust and debris.

If this is not enough, then a problem of graphics chip would be possible.

  • Satellite L775 - mouse pad does not work properly

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L775. I run Win 7 Home Premium. My mouse pad does not work properly. I also have a Logitech Anywhere MX wireless mouse. I tried the mouse pad to work properly with the key FN and F9, but it does not work. And you really have no idea if that turns or out of the mousepad anyway, subj for another time I guess.

What does not work, but I have to do is to go to Control Panel then mouse option load that and just scroll the tabs without changing what each time and then close and the touch pad works. But only for this session. If I have my laptop nearby, or turn it off, I have to start throughout the whole process.

What's past and how to fix this?

    Thank you very much.

  • Satellite Pro M10 - infrared does not work properly

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro M10 and my infrared does not work. I downloaded the zip file with the drivers from this site. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled, but it always happens in the Device Manager under "unknown - SMC IrCC - Fast Port infrared (IR Module: HP). (with an exclamation point). When I look at the properties it says under device status:

This device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

However, under Driver Details is said:
    C:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\smcirda.sys

I extracted the zip file in my home directory of c:\downloads\infrared.
whatever I do, it does not now. It worked when I bought it, but I have too many things on the system for a new installation. Which brings me to another question. Is it possible to re - install windows without losing all your data, etc.? I did it with other systems (95,98) Windows. But it seems that the Toshiba recovery disc means any wiping.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

If your HARD disk contains two partitions and you have saved the data on a second you can reinstall the operating system on the first partition using recovery DVDs.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - sound is not working properly

    Hi all!

Last week, I bought my Toshiba Satellite Pro L300.
I have had no operating system with the laptop, but I had my own XP, so I changed the SATA drives in compatibility mode and installed windows XP Pro.
(By the way this is a Vista laptop officially)
I installed all the drivers, but I have a problem with the sound. It has a bad quality, but this isn't the biggest problem.
If I start listening to music, the sound stops every 3-4 seconds for a fraction of a second. It's as if the processor worked (like the computer was loading, and the processor is a bit overloaded) I usually have this experience if I run many programs simultaneously on my old computer, it slows down and the music stops for a second. But on the new laptop, I run winamp, I have dp nothing but listen to the music, and I get this problem.

Can anyone help? Is it because of XP? Or the driver does not work properly? Or I have a big problem and should go back to the store?
    Please write!

    Hello

Did you notice HARD drive activity when this happens?
Maybe some anti-virus works in the background.

Maybe you can order original Toshiba recovery DVD for your laptop model. Check it out under the https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

Using WXP only? I ask this question because I believe that you can only get to this Vista laptop.

  • Satellite L670 - after Win 8 upgrade WIFI does not work properly

Afteer upgrade to Win 8, the WiFi of my Satellite L670-128 has stopped working properly.

The connection only works some time, usually only a few seconds before the connection is lost.
After a few seconds or minutes the connection is restored, just soon to be lost again.

Cannot download large files or even to see larger photos on normal web pages. Is there any Win8 driver for Broadcom coming 802.11n network card, or should I throw one 2.5 year old computer in the trash?

Buy a usb-wlan card is not an option, as wireless mice is already "permanently" reserving one of the three usb ports and wlan card it would be just to the left...

To my knowledge this L670 series isn t Win 8 taken in charge and this means that there is no special Win 8 drivers for this device, so I put t think you will find an another Win 8 driver for this WLan card.

But do you really want to throw this laptop in the trash just because the wifi does not work properly running Win 8?
The device was working properly under Win 7?

I would recommend running a few Wlan test.
For example; Disable wireless encryption on your router and Wifi connectivity with the open network do that just for testing purposes, perhaps you will need to change the type of encryption to test.

  • Satellite P100-221: FN key combinations do not work properly

    Hello

I have the satellite p100-221 with pre-installed Win XP MCE. After a week of using my computer, a problem with the function keys blue appeared. FN - f1, fn - f2 and all the other fn keys combinations do not work properly. They seem to work, I can change the brightness, switch the touchpad on and out and so on, but no icon on the Info screen appears. While pressing the combination of function keys, the icons on the screen shows the time. How can I solve this problem? Is it software or hardware related?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

I put t think that this question is related to the material.
I recommend the update of the Hotkey utility.
On the page of the Toshiba driver I found two different versions:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

Your device is Satellite P100-221, then I guess the extra number must be PSPA6E.
Do not forget that you are using the correct drivers for this device.

  • Satellite L955 - 10K - Synaptics Touchpad Driver is not working properly

    Hello, ASRR here.

I had a problem with my driver for the Synaptics touchpad yesterday. I'm very used to use the "gestures" to work with my touchpad and the gestures did not work properly (in fact at all) for a while. Scrolling with two fingers, three fingers touch and others (in fact all the gestures) no longer work.

The cursor moves, and works fine but not gestures.

When I go to mouse option in the Control Panel, a window appears indicating that the PC is "Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver." and asks me if I want to uninstall.

I have tried to uninstall, and then go on to Toshiba support page and download a driver that has been adapted for my model, operating system, etc..

When I implemented the driver I downloaded and restart the PC, the same window appears when I try to go in mouse options in Control Panel and gestures don't work.

An interesting thing I noticed though, is the fact that when I back the driver (in the settings to properties then Hardware) gestures do FINE. However, as he always asks you to restart the computer for Rolling back the driver will take place, when I restart it, it defines the Microsoft 2006 touchpad driver. who does not understand the gestures that I need.

I tried several times to fix it, but I can't. I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.

I really don't know what to do. Could someone please help?

My Toshiba model is a Satellite L-955-10 K with a 64-bit processor and system of operating Windows 8 initially installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    > I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.
How to understand this? Have you tried to put your laptop to factory settings?
To be honest I don't understand what the problem is here. I also thought that the new driver installation can help but obviously it didn't help much.

I don't know if this is an option for you, but you can set laptop to factory again and I hope that everything will work properly again. Before doing this test also to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore option.

One last thing: it has nothing to do with your touchpad problem, but I recommend you create a recovery (recovery backup image) using pre-installed recovery media creator media.

  • Synaptics touchpad is not working properly on the Satellite A100-635

My synaptics touchpad is not working properly my mouse works very well but does not work in every corner of the touchpad for special functions.

I tried to set it up again but it had no result, also I downloaded a new driver, but it had no results to. My buttons multimedia keys like play/pause or stop are not no longer works.

These buttons/keys stopped working at the same time as the touchpad. Checked with NOD 32 pro virus and spyware with ZA pro ==> no results.

Who can help me with this problem?

    Hi Jarno

Do you know how many different Satellite notebooks have a series? Drivers and tools are not the same for each of them. Because of this you should also tell us that you have.

According to your description, I can tell you: install OS using support and recovery delivered with factory settings, your mobile phone must be configured correctly.

  • Satellite P25-S520 - DVD player does not work properly

Difficulty of DVD player or buy the external drive

My DVD player does not work properly, in fact it can never work properly. Recently, I tried to back up my PC on a DVD using Norton 360. Norton did not recognize that the DVD was present. Then I tried to write a text file on a DVD and was a failure. DVD + R and DVD-R media were found to be (Maxwell 16 X).

I could have probably lived with this however, I received a copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 on a CD and my Toshiba would not recognize it. I tried the CD in my laptop nearby and it was recognized.

An attempt to update the driver has also fails.

I was able to copy a CD of music last night so that at least works properly.

Does anyone know how can I fix? The important part is to be able to load my new program.

Research on some forums I found that other people have had problems with the Pioneer drive. If the drive can't be fixed, I'm not adverse to buying an external DVD drive. Unfortunately, where I live there is no brick and mortar stores selling external drives and I prefer to avoid the hassle of getting a drive online and discovering that it does not work with my Toshiba. Can someone suggest an external USB drive that will read and write CD and DVD and is certain to be compatible with my Toshiba?
