Satellite L850 and clicking noise

Being a novice with computers I need some advice as to the operation of my new laptop, which is an update of my previous version (5 years)

While using the computer there is a 'click' noise made by computer all few minutes.
Is this his normal? If it's normal, causing the click?

I have an older version of the Satellite laptop and he never does that sound.

Hoping for some advice about this noise

Hello

Clicking noise can be created per HARD disk.
In many cases its nothing unusual and could count on the HARD drive that is integrated.
I have two laptops. one of the computer s portable HARD drive makes clicking but the device works well, and I didn't notice the big questions.

However, it s recommended to backup the data always in case the HARD drive would be unexpected start to malfunction.

    Hi all

my friend bought a Toshiba Satellite c670d-11r in Germany on a catalogue (Otto to be precise) with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it.

After a few months he brought to a computer store and a service in the city, he lives to do a fresh install of Windows. A day ago he came to visit me and complained about how slow it was and asked me to install Windows again and that's what I was doing.

After installing that I asked him about the CD of drivers he has no idea where he is or if he even had one so I downloaded all the drivers on the site and installed on her laptop except the display driver.

First I unpacked it in the Appdata path that has been predefined, but that he would not launch after extraction, so I gave in a path custom and tried to run "Installtb.exe" but still once nothing happened so I decided to run the 'Setup.exe', he began installing CCC and after installation, I checked "Dxdiag" but it doesn't always recognize not the GPU in the view tab as in the previous version of Windows, as a "Radeon HD 6320" but as a "Standard video card" I tried everyhing I could come with but nothing really helped, a little later, I noticed a rattling noise where I think the HARD drive should be (to the right of the touchpad) I thought that I broke something , but he said that he noticed that also a few weeks ago by clicking.

I'll post the dxdiag log now if this will help.

    Hello

In regards to the HARD drive clicking noise:
It is nothing unusual can happen with some kind of discs hard I have a few hard drives (internal and external) of two hard drives produce a rattling sometimes noise, but the drive HARD running and working properly so I guess that its ok but nevertheless if possible, back up the data always

    Regarding the ATI driver:
The laptop belongs to the PSC4AE series.
Choose the series C670D PSC4AE in driver download Toshiba form European page pilot would show you the driver compatible v8.812.2.2.

You must download and unzip the package first.
Now you should see the file TCA0056800E.exe.
This file must be decompressed too

Now, go to Device Manager and select the graphics card.
Here to choose install driver then the manual installation procedure. Now point to the folder where you have unzipped the display driver.
AFAIK driver for Win 64 bit files are placed in the driver-> display folder
Usually the Windows operating system must pick up the right files to install the driver

    That s it

  • Problems of Smartphones Blackberry Storm 1 blackBerry with camera and clicking noise

Hi, I'm really bad with technology if I appreciate all the comments! I want to see if my problem is a simple before I send mine to fix. My blackberry storm has recently made a low clicking noise when it is not hit. Also the camera does not work. I can see the image that I am about to take, but when I take a picture all I see is a black screen with random colors forming a line on the left side of the screen so no picture don't can be taken. What can I do? Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Best!

  • Satellite A200 doesn't start and clicking noise

Problems with my A200 Satellite, which is about 2 years old. 2 days ago, only it beeps once. I have

continued his work then stop down without any problem. I rebooted again and had no problems. Then, since yesterday it will not passed Microsoft logo at the beginning upward. After waiting a while there is a click from him. Pretty much the same thing happened to me the year last with the same laptop. From scratch and reinstall the operating system solved the problem (so far).

Of course, I can do this again, but I want to know if it of a known problem with this type of laptop or is it something I'm doing unintentionally?

You say about an entry by clicking on it. It can be HARD, I guess. I recommend you save all necessary staff if you have and be ready for its malfunction.

  • Satellite L850 and partition recovery

Hello, I want to ask about my recovery my computer portition L850 corei7 satellite phone.
I got the pc 3 years ago and my restore partition has been deleted by mistak and I found one about 1.46 GB partition is tiltled by issue of recovery active healthy partition .my, these is the recovery partition? If its how can operate agine and if not how can my recovery partition agine reback... If she need to make an order in Egypt cost... and thx in advence

This recovery partition belongs to the operating system itself and has nothing to do with the Toshiba recovery partition. If the recovery partition is deleted you can not get it back.
Only thing to do is to reinstall the recovery image and use laptop with 'presets' again.

In my opinion, only option for you now is to order the original installation of the recovery media - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite L500 and the noise of the fan

Last week, I bought a new laptop Satellite L 500 with Inter i3 processor, 1 GB, 4 GB of ram ATI graphics card, etc.
Everything is OK in general, however, I think the fan is very noisy.

I used to own a HP Pavilion laptop and could hardly notice the fan while with my new laptop, the noise of the fan is really loud.
Does anyone know if this is normal or if it could be fixed somehow?

I did some internet research for a solution, but I couldn't find anything, and apparently nobody complains noise from the fan on L 500 computers portable so maybe it's only me that have this problem?

    Thank you.

For optimal use for laptop use the balanced power plan. Go to the advanced settings for this plan and energy saving of Toshiba, you can find cooling method.
The level here. I'm sure that notebooks fan will be much quieter than before.

  • Satellite L850 - unidentified network, try to use the LAN card

I have the Satellite L850 and were using the wireless without any problem.

Now I find that I can't get the network to work just by using my Ethernet cable.
I tried to turn off the wifi and allowing the PCIe realtech family responsible of the treatment, which is the connection to the local network, but I get unidentified network.

Y at - it a sort of conflict between wifi even if it is disabled and the connection to the local network.
I'm pulling out my hair. The LAN worked very well until I decided to try the WIFI.

    Hello

The unidentified network problem may be related to different causes, and therefore different workaround solutions may be possible.
First of all I recommend you to uninstall the network adapter driver.
This can be done in the Device Manager. After the driver has been removed, restart the laptop and install the network driver that you can download on the page of the Toshiba driver.

2nd solution: reset the reset TCP/IP protocol
To do this, see the article Microsoft Knowledge base:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/299357

Check also if you tools of security (firewall, antivirus software, Mcafee) n does affect network connectivity.

  • Satellite C850 - clicking noise and freezes at startup

When I start my computer, I get a clicking sound as the morse code and my computer freezes until the noise stops. Initially, I had 8 Windows on the computer and had the problem then.

I hated Windows 8 anyway so I removed and installed Windows 7 Home Premium, thinking this would eliminate the problem but it did not. When I had Windows installed 8 noise would start at random times, but in Windows 7, it seems to happen at the beginning upward.

Clicks can go for 5 minutes to 20 minutes and it doesn't make a difference if I restart the computer. The mouse can still be moved, but there is no response when I click on something.

Some have suggested it's from the hard disk, but it is deffinately by speakers.
When I'm able to change the volume, the volume by clicking changes also.

    It's driving me crazy!
Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this problem?

    > Some have suggested it's from the hard disk, but it is certainly by the speakers.

I thought that you intervene on the rattling from the HARD drive noise

Start Notepad, press F2 and access the BIOS.
The clicking noise is noticeable now?

What happens when the headphones are plugged?

  • Satellite L850 - USB and touchpad stopped working

    Hey guys

I got this laptop from toshiba Satellite L850 (faptop) and I am having some problems.

When I turn it on nothing is wrong.
When I hit the first screen after registration on (windows 8) with all the options of what to do (office, internet etc.) none of my USB ports work and my laptop mouse (touchpad) doesn't work that way.

The only keys that work are the F-keys (F1, F2, etc) I was wondering if anyone knows what's the problem with him.

I saw a message when I was turning right at the first "loading screen" (black red background text "TOSHIBA" or something else he said) saying that he was going to scan C drive and fix it.
    He finished and turns off.

Being a person I turned it back and that is when the problem occurred.
Before this problem came to me was to play counter strike and 10 minutes after it happened.

If anyone can help I will appreciate it. Thank you.

I think that there is some sort of software problem because the system has started the automatic repair process. Of course, this repair process touched the keyboard, the touchpad and USB device.

I assumed that the updating of the system, reset or restore would solve your problem and this is why I think you should start with the option refresh your PC without affecting your files.

This option should be selected if your PC is not made as in the past and you don't know why, you can refresh your PC without delete all of your personal files or change your settings.
    To refresh your PC
    1. start charm bar (Win key + C), click on settings, then change PC settings.
    2. click on update and restore and then click recovery.
    3. under Refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Start.
    4. follow the instructions on the screen.

If this would not help you, you could _Restore PC to the point of beginning at the time. _
To restore your PC to an earlier point in time
1 win key + X and choose Control Panel.
    2. Enter the collection in the control panel search box, and then click recovery.
    3. click on open system restore and then follow the instructions.

In the worst case you will need the laptop initial configuration using the Toshiba HDD recovery recovery.

  • Satellite L850-147 - Audio problem with output jack and balance

    Hi all

When I plug in my headset on my laptop (Satellite L850-147) and try to listen to music, I hear music (instrumental parts)... by far, I can hear the voice of the singer.

I found a turnaround with the adjustment of balance in realtek HD audio manager 100% or 100% left...
But this isn't the way that music have to play...

I have reinstalled the Realtek HD Audio Manager but without success...
    Any idea?

    Thank you

    Hello

And have you checked the settings in the software you use to play the sounds?
Of course the Realtek HD audio Manager supports the sound configurations and you can change different sound effects such as environment and Equalizer but the same or similar options are supported by each software reading and I also recommend to check this!

By the way: Toshiba laptops are pre-installed with a HD Audio SRS Premium application. To access this, go to:
Start-> all programs-> SRS Lams-> SRS Premium Sound Technology
Here, you will also get some options that could be interesting for you.

    Also recommend checking Audio improve
Make a right click on the icon of speakers in the taskbar then on playback-> speakers devices->, click Properties
On the development tab, select the sound effect you want and click on apply.

  • Satellite L875 - 12 p - clicking noise

    I used the Satellite L875 - 12 p for about a month.

Since last week, I start noticing clicking noise occurs randomly between the right corner of the mouse touch pad. It's quite strange because this laptop is quite new.

What should I do to fix this?

This rattling noise can be produced by the hard drive. Look at him carefully the next few days and if it get worse the closer contact of Toshiba service provider and ask for help. In the worst cases they replace HDD, free of course.

If you have some important data stored on the HARD drive, from time to time make backups.

  • Satellite P850 - Headparking HDD / annoying clicking noise

I bought my Toshiba Satellite P850 12z a couple of weeks and since day 1, he made this annoying rattling noise. After a week or two to try to ignore it, I searched what it is. I guess it was the click of death, but discovered that it is actually a function of the hard drive, designed to protect the disc if it has fallen, guarantor of the head on a ramp when idle.

Apparently, it is supposed to do this every 30 seconds or Yes but mine did it more than 1 in 10 seconds and I can't stand it anymore. I tried some solutions such as changing power management options at their highest level, but nothing has worked. Some people have found that the programs running as "QuietHDD" but these all seem to be 32-bit and no work on windows 7, as they must be run as administrator.

I left about 4 days until that my 21 days return policy runs out and I need to know if there is a way to change this or if I have to return the thing. The only thing I've found that helps is to keep the HARD assets with defrag disk, but it works only for about 20 minutes at a time. I've had laptops before and never had this problem and there is no way that I can put up with this noise for 3 hours while trying to write an essay.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replys.

    Miki

    Hello

The clicking noise is nothing unusual, and in my experience, that depends on the HARD disk that is built into the laptop.
I have two laptops equipped with different hard disks.
A HARD disk created this little snap, the other doesn t.

On my laptop Toshiba the HDD protection that utility is installed which helps protect the disk drive HARD against mechanical damage.
If this utility is enabled, or active, the head of the HARD disk is exposed. The internal Accelerator sensor measuring vibration and if the vibrations are too strong, the sensor to unload HARD drive head to avoid damage to the disc.

If you want you can uninstall or disable this feature, but I do not know if this m will eliminate the rattling noise
If you can't stand the noise, you might try another HARD drive

  • Satellite L850 - exchange of RAM and valid warranty

As the title I want to know I will lose my warranty if I change ram by myself?

I have Satellite L850-1V8 (I can't find it on the site official Toshiba but anyway no is PSKDNE) and if you can tell me who can RAM I put?

    Hello

I found some info base for your laptop model. According to specification for laptop, that your machine can be upgraded up to 16 GB and you can use memory modules live 4 X 8 GB max.
    Rams compatible are:
    2 GB DDR3-1333-PA3918U-1M2G
    4 GB DDR3-1333-PA3918U-1M4G
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find compatible 8 GB of RAM, even on the support page of Kingston. But I think that the info you can get from the Toshiba service provider in your country.

Return to the upgrade of RAM. I guess that your laptop has 4 locations of memory. Two of them are placed at the bottom of your machine under guise of memory. You can upgrade memory on these two locations without losing the warranty. How this is also described in paper manuals s user on page 70.
For example, you can put 4 GB modules there are two.

Other two RAM slots are probably under the keyboard and RAM should be exchanged or maintained by authorized personnel only.

  • Tecra M10 - 12M - clicking noise and slight stutter

I have a problem of sound strange but serious with my Tecra M10 - 12 M in December 2008.
It started to happen a month or two ago and behaves like this:

After the reboot of Vista business, the sound is perfect.
I use my computer throughout the day, then put it in mode "sleep" during the night. The problem begins with the sounds of rattling occasional and slight stutter, then gradually worsens. After 3 to 4 days, the PC becomes impossible to listen to or to use with Skype.

I am a competent computer scientist and have tried to close systematically of all the applications, services, and processes to see if I could find an offender who caused the problem. I did not and I also checked that I have the latest drivers for the Realtek High Definition Audio (with EC). I also tried to disable all the improvements in the sound properties.

The only thing that helps is restarted. The sound is so perfect even once immediately and for several days.

A good example of this phenomenon can be found at http://www.netwv.net/Sound.mp3. Although the example originates from Skype, note that is not a problem associated Skype. But Skype is an important tool for me and this problem really completely disables my PC when it comes to use Skype and listen to the sounds.

Any suggestions to solve this problem will be greatly appreciated!

    Willy

    > The only thing that helps is restarted. The sound is so perfect even once immediately and for several days.

HM strange s it seems that not a sound driver of the questions that you updated the audio driver as well.
I'm not quite sure what could cause this clicking noise when using the Skype
Maybe you should to reinstall Skype too.

If this will not help, then you should clean the BONES using the CCLeaner. This tool is free and cleans the registry and operating system.

But if you still notice the right question then you should check if the new OS install help.
To do this, you must use the Toshiba recovery disc!
