Satellite M30-107 - will not power

Can someone please help?

I currently have a problem with my M30-107, model PSM30E-7101V-7U, it lights or boot. All I get is the 'sector' and 'Power' light on the façade and the 'power' of light the multimedia button on top, no beeps or noise from the fan.

One thing I noticed is if I disconnect the HARD drive and turn on the LED of the drive HARD rest turn on, and if I disconnect the DVD player light so that it lights up a second then turns off. Perhaps it is a feature of the model and part of pre-boot BIOS checks - do not know.

At first I thought it was a fault with the motherboard, so I bought an exact replacement, including the USB ports, AV output, network & modem ports and socket connector DC with PCB power distribution, and even the speakers have been replaced! But it made no difference. Still only get the 'power' & 'Power' LED on.

Then I tried to replace the CPU, but still the same. I also tried different RAM in different locations, new modem, removed card network wireless and fitted with a panel of media replacement keys - No difference. Disconnect the LCD screen, DVD player and HARD drive does not seem to make any difference either.

Tonight, I tried capture the wires on the fan and splicing in a new fan using the existing record (I only had a spare with the right connector fan), but that made no difference. I also replaced the battery CMOS with a constant 3v DC supply - but still no luck. He's really starting to annoy me now :-(

I just finished checking the tension of the PCB power distribution, and it seems to provide the motherboard with a constant voltage. I have ran out of ideas now.

Everything has been replaced with the exception of the keyboard & touchpad and the CD key and indicator LED Panel on the front of the laptop.

Anyone has any ideas what to try next? Any advice would be appreciated, I'm starting to pull my hair!

Could someone also tell me the function of the small black chip that is mounted just below the LDC screen inside the lid of the laptop - part number 040-0004-946 Foxconn. I have not replaced either, but if I knew what it was I could be able to test it.

Have you tried another AC/DC adapter on this laptop? This is maybe causing this problem and so the laptop can start t properly check it!

To be honest, I think the best way is you go to an authorized service provider. You need professional help, and the technician can check your laptop to determine the cause of this problem.
This problem can't be solved in a few minutes, but it should not be a problem for a technician to the laptop.

    I recently got my hands on a toshiba Satellite M30-107 laptop second hand and decided to freshen it.
    I used the toshiba recovery disk, but after that the laptop is no longer support windows.

    When turned on it shows booting Toshiba disc for about a second then goes to a screen blank and freezes.
    When turned on, once again, a screen will appear an error by stopping and offer the opportunity to start in SafeMode etc but choose one of the options causes the machine to freeze.

    Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

    I may be wrong, but to me it looks like a recovery CD incorrect has been used and an image with drivers not compatible m has been installed

    You can try to install the OS of Microsoft Win XP original CD and could check if it would be possible to get the notebook ruin using own BONE.

    In this case we (you and me ;)) might know if this problem could be related to hardware or software.

    I have this laptop where all of a sudden it turned off and does not turn upward. All that happens is this flashing electric blue. I tried to remove the battery and just go out of the adapter. I tested the cards that I have two and both seem fine.

    I think that this flashing of the LED will display an error code or something else that would be useful information for an authorized service provider.

    If this doesn t work, contact the nearest authorized service provider. Guys are going to solve this problem for you. :)

    I tried several times and can't get the option of recovering your system by typing intermittently the * key f8 during the startup * as it says in the manual, it will just directly in Windows. I just installed the latest version of the BIOS, but that did not help either. I have no recovery discs, but I would get the f8 problem solved in any case. Everything else works perfectly.     Maybe you didn t press F8 in the right way
    You must press F8 immediately after the laptop has been powered!
    Press several times to be sure 100%

    If this does not work, create the recovery disk! This should be done first before you do anything with the laptop!
    The recovery disk is always important and useful if something goes wrong with the HARD drive!

    After you create the recovery disk using this drive to put the laptop in the same State as on the first day of purchase

    I've been sucessfully copy data to a CD with Nero in the past and decided to try to copy to a Verbatim 4 x certified DVD - RW and have no chance (says the 'negative' RW was compatible with Tosh). Tried in Nero but it gets stuck on "waiting for the drive to become ready". Tried Drag and Drop but it ask me to insert a disk.

    I tried to reinstall the Toshiba DVD-RAM driver (but I have no idea if this is what I need), unchecked the "enable CD writing on this drive" in the properties of the D drive, but so far without success. My laptop has a DVD-R/RW drive which I guess, allows me to copy data on DVD. Any help greatly appreciated, I don't know what else to do!

    as a first step, you need to uninstall one of the burning software and try to burn a DVD again!
    Then you need to update your Nero, it may be that you are using an older version that is not able to burn DVDs with your car!

    My Toshiba Satellite M35x-S161 will not work on battery power.

    With external power supply, the battery status icon see the stack of 90 to 99%, but if the external connection is deleted the computer will immediately dead.

    By pressing the power button with the power supply disconnected, nothing happens. There is no light.

    Seems that there are problems with the files of GoBack.

    Try to boot in safe mode and remove the Norton System works from your laptop ;)
    If this does not help, you will need to recover the laptop with the recovery CD Toshiba delivered!

  • Satellite M30-107 - guard wireless disconnect and never connects

    My Toshiba Satellite M30-107 with Intel (r) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network connection is not connect wirelessly. I know that there is no hardware problem, because I used this laptop to different wireless networks in the past, and just recently I formatted my laptop using the recovery disk Toshiba gave with it.

    I set up the wireless entering the SSID and network key. But the wireless connects with the Excellent signal is only for a second and then disconnects, then reconnects, disconnects. After doing this for a while, it remains offline.

    How can I do to connect and stay connected as it should?

    It is not easy to say why all this happens. I also think that your laptop works well, then maybe you should check the router. Reboot the router and check the WLAN connection again.

    For a moment turn off WLAN protection and check if the same problem happens without entering the network key.
    Setting router to run on 802. 11 b / g only and check again.

    Play with these settings. Have you bought a new router? I mean if everything was OK in the past I m wondering why you are facing this problem now.

    I have an old M30 - 107 that I recently reinstalled and updated the operating system.
    The function keys control the screen brightness, volume etc. do seem to work.
    I think that I've updated all the drivers for the laptop.

    Is there a specific driver (ie the chipset driver package) I should be looking that control these function keys or should they train with intervention of Ant in a pack driver bios etc. related?

    Satellite M30-107 is a part of the PSM30E series. Is this good?
    You can see this number when you look at the bottom of the unit. There should be a label with the model number.

    Go to the page of European driver of Toshiba and searching for archiving.

    Choose + Archive-> Satellite-> Satellite M Series-> Satellite M30-> Win XP +.

    You must download the * common Module *.

    This common module must be installed first!
    Then, you need to install additional software like Touch Pad on / off utility Hotkey utilities for display devices.

    These programs will allow the Fn keys

    Could someone offer a bit of expertise and tell me whether or not the series Equium A60 - 157 has a center pin in its socket? I need to know that my laptop doesn't have one and it will not power! I'm deeply frustrated because I paid at the time £999 and it doesn't work!

    Yes, I think the A60 use an outlet that has a central pin. The CAP at the end of the head of the AC must have a central hole. You can find that the spindle broke and is now stuck in the plug on the power cord. This is not a rare event on the series of satellites, laptops.

    The bad is more Servicers will simply replace the motherboard (where the socket is together) rather than perform a repair to the component level. It is obviously a costly option for you, but is probably more faster/easier for the repairman.

    I have, in the past, tried unsuccessfully to find a source for the plug for my A30 (just in case) but I only managed to find a supplier who could provide a component of second hand provided by a junk motherboard. :-(

    My Satellite A 200 will not be closed down whemn I close the system. Only solution I can use is now 'hard' shut down, using power button, but this isn't the right way.

    Is this a known poblem? Can you give us some solution?

    Maybe a process that runs in the context of the operating system can't shut down properly and therefore the Windows operating system cannot stop.
    I've seen questions on different computers.

    I think you should try to clean the registry with the 3rd tools i.e. CCLeaner. It s for free and can be downloaded from various sites.

    If it does not help check if the new OS install helps solve this problem.

    It of weird, is your CD the other disc drive? Have you tried to read your cd of restoration with another computer? If the same error occurs on another computer system, then the cd is probably defective.
