  I have a Satellite M35x-s349. I got it around late 2004.

  I agree with Akuma. If the bootable CD/DVD cannot be read by the player are probably defective.

  Your description of the problem, I would say that you have a hardware problem on your laptop. The initial POST fails when it checks your devices and it is preventing the BIOS to load correctly. I suggest that you try to remove/reinstall the modules of RAM, the hard drive and the optical drive. If the fault persists then you will need to refer to a Toshiba authorized Service partner for other diagnoses.

• Battery will not charge on Satellite M35X-S349

  Hi, after attaching the DC Jack, which has been broken, the battery did not. When I plug my power adapter (orange) rest charge light lit for 5 seconds, then turns off. The computer can operate without the battery (AC adapter is plugged). When I turn the computer and measure the voltage of the pins going to the battery (no battery) I measure from left to right: terrestrial, 5, 7V, 5, 7V, 0 v, 3, 8V, 3, 8V, 1, 7V. So there seems to be enough voltage to charge the battery.

  My question is my fault for battery, is it possible that the charging circuit is defective, or did I not solder the correct DC connector (is this possible when the computer works without a hitch of the AC adapter / CC).

  I m not a technician but I think it of possible that you have something wrong.
  According to your assignment on pin 3 is without power. This is a problem.
  Without any detailed motherboard tests it s not easy to say what's wrong.

  I think that the technician who has more experience in these issues should check the laptop. Unfortunately, without a diagnosis it s not possible to know what s wrong.

  Hi, I own a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S349 with an Intel82852/82855 GM/GME graphics card. Once I changed the output to TV settings. After disconnecting the TV, the resolution of my laptop has become at 800 x 600. I wanted to put the usual maximum resolution 1280 x 800, but in 'settings', I met Posibility to set my resolution of appr. 2800 x 1500! I applied, the resolution was shanged, but in 1 minute, I changed it at 1280 x 800. Now I can't change my resolution of that (2800 x 1500). Everything works fine.
  So my question is: what it is:-malfunction of hardware or my reference video can be set to a resolution higher than 1280 x 800.

  I can t explain why it has been possible to define the resolution of 2800x1500px.
  But as much as I know usually it of not possible to set the parameters of this high value. 1280 x 800 is the highest resolution on this unit.
  A similar problem occurred in my unit. After connecting my external monitor, it was not possible to set my internal resolution to 1280 x 800, but only in 1024 x 786. After you have reset the OS everything is working properly and it was possible to use the higher display resolution.

  On your device the 1280x800px is the max resolution and you shouldn't t try to put a resolution more high as 2800x1500px.

  The laptop supports Realtek 802.11 wireless network card b/g, but it has not been equipped with BT module.

  I have a Satellite M35X-S114. OS is XP SP2. I use wireless at home for years. Yesterday, my laptop started telling me that it couldn't find my router and my wireless radio switch was not turned on. As it's turned on and orange glowing like always. I went through the process of troubleshooting Linksys and it tells me the same thing, "my wireless radio switch is disabled. I have a bad switch? I rebooted several times. I don't see anything unusual in the Device Manager.

  Did you check if the wireless card is enabled/disabled using the FN + F8 key combination? You can also check using utility ConfigFree. Make sure that the wireless network adapter is correctly enabled.

  Note: when the power supply is connected the headlights before (AC light and the light) shines green and the battery light turns off. When the laptop is turned off when the battery goes to Orange indicating that its loading.
